POOR BANK

Capital one customer service said electronic transfer using their website would take one day.

Then days later, I get a posted email saying it was credited - But it was not credited and it did not apply to my account balance. And they did not subtract the payment from my account balance freeing up my credit line.

No other notification from them to notify me that I did not receive credit to my card and that my credit line was still frozen because over the limit. Even though that electronic transfer paid off the entire balance.

I Called them to clarify: now they said now it takes a week?" - really. Who's wrong the 1st rep that said a day or this one that says a week?

Then i looked on THEIR website, and it said on the last day of that week, returned check, incorrect account numbers. Said account number or/and routing wrong.

Checked it ON TD BANK AND my check book. Its all 100% correct!

I called my bank which had the funds that were going to be transferred in my checking account, and they said no attempt was ever made to transfer money out to Capital one at any time by Capital one bank or online banking or by anyone.

Then cap one said I should investigate and Said I have to go to my bank and get a letter saying there was no transfer - really? I have to...

Stay away from Capital
After all this, I told them to cancel the whole electronic transfer. I asked them If I deposit the money directly into a cap one bank, how long would it take to clear? The account supervisor at Capital one said, "only one day." But when I deposited it at their bank teller, they gave me a receipt and it said, "1-2 days! That would screw up my plans to use the card the next day on something urgent.

Stay Away from Cap One. The are an incompetent bank with a chaotic system of people that have no clue about banking, what's going on in their own bank, and extremely poor customer service, in my opinion.

Credit cards: they gave me an initial 1,000 card. After a year of using it and paying perfectly, I applied for an increase. They said, no. I did not use the card enough! I don't use the card enough because it does not have the credit line I need to charge what I want!

MY advice: Do not bank with them, no matter what the rates and stay far away from their credit cards and find a normal major bank to deal with that you can trust to handle your banking and credit needs

Last year I decided to do online payment with my payment method and here the bank (I used for the payment) calls say that there were fraudulent charges to the account and someone was trying to access numbers to the card but the bank wouldn't let them, so had to get new bank card, the call representatives are foreign and I believe one them tried stealing money from the the bank account, glad our life savings wasn't in the account
And here recently I did a online payment on the credit card it went thru in 24 hours both my credit card and bank process payment it went thru, it posted... it's been five freaking days since my available credit was loaded, when I make a payment and it's posted available credit is immediate, this morning at 12am I logged into my capital one account and it's available credit was my credit line (I paid off the entire credit limit) so I decided to pay bills so my available credit went back to zero when I tried paying it. Like what the hell do I have someone stealing my funds or a hacker...I ONLY do phone payment because online PAYMENTS are not secure

NO HELP

Someone uses my identity and applies for a credit card, and I can get NO HELP from Capital One, only long hold time, inconsistent stories, and lies!

I applied for a Spark credit card for my buisness today, against my better judgement. I am a current customer of Capital One with a personal card from one of the department stores the represent ($20k+ line of credit). No missed payments to Capital One on that card, and no miseds payments on my credit report. Todays scores from all three credit repoting agencies are 779,769 and 761. Six figure income, $2400 a month mortgage and no negatives. With that said I was declined for the card that said good credit needed. I should have trusted my gut and not applied for another card from Capital One. The overall review of this company on multiple sites are all the same, HORRIBLE. Not that they care, but thank you for your decision Capital One and saving me the experince of dealing with you with regards to my company. I just applied for an American Express Buiness Plantinum card and was given a $70k line of credit. So again, a big thank you Capital One for helping me get an amazing credit card for my company.

RUN RUN RUN FAR AWAY AS POSSIBLE! IF YOURE TRYING TO REBULD YOUR CREDIT YOUR BETTER OFF GETTING A SECURED CREDIT CARD FROM AMEX OR ANYONE ELSE BESIDES THESE PPL! THE ONLY REASON MY ACCOUNT IS STILL OPEN@ THE MOMENT IS CAUSE ITS ONE OF MY OLDEST ACCOUNTS BUT I HAVE AWESOME CREDIT WITH OVER A 250K CREDIT LINE SO ATP IDC ABOUT CANCELING THIS BS ACCOUNT WITH THEM! THESE PPL HAVE ALLOWED SAKS TO PUT SOMETHING ON MY ACCOUNT FROM 5 MONTHS AGO BUT THE CONSUMER ONLY HAS 60 DAYS TO DISPUTE A TRANSACTION! SO HOW IS THIS RIGHT OR LEGAL? ESPECIALLY WHEN SAKS IS TRYING TO SAY IT OCCURRED A FEW WEEKS AGO & I HAVE NOT USED THE CARD IN 4 MONTHS! NOT TO MENTION SAKS LIED MULTIPLE TIMES SAYING THEY DONT ISSUE REFUNDS BUT THEY DO & DID WHEN I RETURNED THE MERCHANDISE! I CAN GO ON FOR DAYS ABOUT THIS PATHETIC RIDICULOUS SCAMMING SHIESTY COMPANY! My experience with Capital One service on November 19,2022 was horrible and deplorable. I was on the phone for approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes regarding Capital One requesting I submit a response to one of my cases regarding a refund of a hotel deposit. The second issue was I received a credit card alert from them about 3 weeks ago. I contacted Captial One's fraud unit and they decided to cancel my card and to issue a new card. The fraud unit advised they would send my card to my temporary international address via express delivery to one USA destination and then regular mail to Portugal. The card never arrived so in my communication with them I was advised Capital One never issued a new card. Speaking with a Capital One representatives in the Philippines, Jamaica and the USA about the issue. FIrst the Philippines representative after four attempts could not write the address to send a replacement card. After three transfers to another agent, I was advised that before they could send my card they needed to verify me. I gave them my temporary international phone number and was advised they could not dial an international number plus they need a local number. I then asked about other means of identification. I was advised I could use a state issued proof of identification, a valid drivers license or a photo copy of my passport. I said ok use my passport. What a cumbersome issue - they advised they would send me a link to photo my passport on my phone or computer. I told them my computer did not have photo capabilities. We finally resolved the issue as Capital One was about to send a verification code to my wife's USA cell number. Capital One sent me a link to upload my letter and other documents to their web site regarding my dispute for them rejecting a fund claim. I've tried the link for the past two days and the repsonse them the Capital One site is try again later. If you tried to respond to a capital one email, your response will be returned with a response your cannot send mail to this address. You cannot find a contact phone number or email link on their web site. What deplorable conditions for Capital One. They are NOT CONSUMER FRIENDLY

Exhausted and upset
February 28, 2022

For the past eight days, dealing with Capital One has been an absolute nightmare. Completely useless. I have been with them for many years. I have been a great customer, paying my balance entirely at the end of every month. Unfortunately, I met someone recently who claimed to be a friend but turned out not to be. This person offered to pay my balance and gave me their banking information to do so. Payment was submitted and Capital One restricted my account immediately. I have multiple automatic bill payments set up and did not want those to be affected so I requested to cancel the payment but they would not even give me that option; this within just a couple hours of submitting payment. They needed to verify the payment with the account holder first which is understandable. They also needed to verify with the account holders bank that they were the actual account holder, which is also understandable. Both of those verifications are understandable in regard to the payment but absurd that my account would remain restricted, unable to use at all in the meantime. The thing is, this "friend" ended up being bogus, with intention to scam. Needless to say, the payment did not clear and the person has been unreachable. Capital One claims that they understand my frustration and yet insist that their process remains that they still must get bank verification from this criminal (for a payment that didn't even clear and is now a moot point anyway) in order to lift the restriction from my credit card. I have spoken to them for multiple hours a day for 8 days and have gotten nowhere. Their logic is to get in touch with a criminal in order to make the hassle this has caused me disappear and that is obviously never going to happen. It is all out of my hands at this point and my fate lies in a criminals hands and somehow that is OK with them and there's nothing they can do?! Absurd. I have so many automatic bill payments set up with this credit card and if I close the account it will still remain in restricted status and I will also lose all my miles. Applying for a new credit card is not going to be feasible given that my credit now shows a restricted card. They have a hugely flawed process which does not protect their customers who have become victims of fraud. Unbelievable lack of reason and logic. So exhausted and upset.
