The company has established a strong reputation for its user-friendly platform and competitive pricing, with many customers praising the efficiency of the booking process and the helpfulness of customer service representatives. However, some concerns have been raised regarding communication issues, particularly related to flight changes and refunds, leading to frustration among users. While the majority of feedback highlights a positive experience, instances of delayed support and difficulties in correcting booking errors suggest areas for improvement. Overall, the company is viewed as a reliable option for budget-conscious travelers, yet it must enhance its customer service responsiveness.

Price is very cheap but customer service is terrible.
AVOID CRAPO... OOOPS CHEAPO STAY LIKE THE PLAGUE.Be very careful of this site. They certainly don't advertise the fact but if you dig a little you will discover that they charge you a booking service fee of $35 per room per night, in fact it seems closer to $50. I thought I could save a few bucks using thier $15 off coupon. Was trying to book a room for $36 when I noticed that taxes AND FEES came to over $54. I thought there was a problem with thier web site and called to make the booking. I got to enjoy that oh so common language and accent nightmare and was told the same price. I tried e-mailing thier customer service but received no response at no time was there any mention of the service fee. Had I not been paying attention even with the $15 off I would have paid almost $80 to book my $36 room through cheapo stay... this service is rediculous and almost a rip off but again if you dig you will find out about the fees.
I was looking around for a good deal on a hotel reservation in Sacramento. Think that I had found it, I booked with cheap o stay. The problem came when my credit card statement arrived with an extra fee. After calling cheap o stay and getting the run around I was finally told that the fee I was charged was mentioned on their website. The guy was kind of rude and said I should have read the whole thing. Well, I thought I had. They get you in the fine print, that's what it's all about. I will NEVER book anything with this company again. I don't recommend anyone else use them either. The hidden fees (in the fine print) is what will get you.
We booked our motel in Estes for a Super 8 Motel that these guys helped us find. A week later we went to the motel to sign in and had the paperwork from CheapOstay with us. About 30 minutes later the Super 8 person said that the CheapOstay companies card had been declined altho they did take my money the previous week when I booked from them online. So I had to again pay for the motel on my own which then I found that it was cheaper to do that way anyway. Cheapo charged me 129.31 and I got the same deal on my own directly for 105.32 and of course my card wasn't declined! I'm still dealing with them on this trying to get this stupid card off my card!
Had absolutley no issues with this website. All our reservations - hotel, airlines and car rental - were as they should be. No problems were encountered during any leg of our trip. The agent who helped me book, was also very good.
I found this site and it was a lot cheaper than any other places I had looked. I immediatley got conformation and had no problems when I checked in at the motel. I would use them again. I received a call from a service rep and she was very pleasant.
I was pleasantly surprised that this site actually was worth its weight. I am a chronic ''shop around for the best price'' kinda gal, lol! So when i used this site to book my hotel stay, you can be sure it had the best price anywhere. Let me tell... I had numerous searches going, i was checking every site possible! Cheapostay.com had the cheapest total price before and after any tax etc. There was nothing hidden. I will definitely be using this website again!
ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE
I work for a hotel in the Madison, WI area. I called the help number to try and assist a woman who booked her room through this site. They charged her $102 for what we would have charged her $88. She book the room but we never received payment. After sitting on hold for 45 mins I finally got to speak to a representative whose response was that they would send us a check for the transaction. Sadly enough if we don't receive the check in a week i will be forced to charge her credit card. Bottom line is these sites overcharge you and you should just call the hotel to book the room. Hotels can always offer discounts for things such as AAA and AARP. I hope to never have to do business with this site or these people in the future.
Customer Service - does not exist! The only line you can reach is their reservation line. If you have a problem - you are on your own. They've overcharged us on our reservation and there were no ways to reach them. Thank you AmEx for taking care of us! DO NOT USE THEM - THEY ARE THE ABSOLUTE WORSE TRAVEL WESITE WE HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED!
Just a SCAM, what they do is sit on a computer and search other web sites to book a room for you, and then charge you a $20 dollar fee.
I booked a hotel 3 days ago and have tried canceling my reservation today due to a hurricane hitting Charleston the same time I'll be down there. I finally got customer service and they said that I'll need to cancel the reservation with the hotel. I call the hotel and they said they can cancel the reservation without any fees but that they cannot refund my money because cheapostay charged it.
I attempt to call cheapostay back and get hung up on the first time, second time I get passed to another person after I explain my issue (this happened three times with 15 min wait times inbetween) and after 45 minutes on the phone I still cannot get someone to tell me how to cancel my room.
If this doesn't get resolved tonight I have no problem filing a claim. Let me know if you would like me to file on your behalf as well.
No hassle check in. Good service, however Cheapostay should inform customers about hotel security deposits.
I have never had a problem with this site. I have used many different third party travel sites and once or twice it will happen that information does not get passed to the hotel properly. That or it doesn't get put into the hotels system properly by their employees. It happened to me once with Orbitz. A well known site. I just think people should know better than to try and change reservations and dates and read the fine print on cancellations. If you do not it is your own fault. It may be cheap, but we have to be smart enough to know who and what you are paying for. If you do that you should be all good. As long as you have your papers and unless a hotel is REALLY sold out, in my experience they will be more than happy to help you get a room for the advertised rate shown on the travel site. They cannot show hotels names and hotels published rates without liscenced permission. It's right there next to the info on how to cancel and change bookings. Duh people. Be smart.
I booked my hotel stay through this site. I was extremely excited because I received $35.00 in discounts. Everything was confirmed and I was charged $10.00 to reserve the room. On my check-out day I received an invoice under my door from the front desk for the full price. My discounts were not reflected nor was my $10.00 deposit. I spoke to the manager who stated he was not familiar with the discount codes and had never heard of the website. I had to pay what was reflected on the invoice. I have called Cheapoair/stay 3 times and have gotten nothing but the run around. I was told to email my invoice which I did. I called 2 days later and was told someone was looking into it and would call me back in an hour. I called back the next day and was told someone would call me in 24 to 48 hours. Needless to say I have yet to speak to someone that seems interested in resolving the matter.
Worst ever flight booking experience in last 10 years. Booked online and get itinary with confirmed booking. Made my travel plans and one day before my departure get a call from them that my ticket is not confirmed. I spend more than two hours on phone to get a customer service rep and the guy was a real $#*!; never had such a rude behaviour from any representative. He suggested me to defer my travel plan or purchase other tickets paying double the cost. He was not accepting the fact that they issued a confirmed ticket itinary. Please stay away from the web site otherwise you could be the next one.
Cheapoair phone app worked great. A few clicks and I was booked from Miami to London at about half the price elsewhere... and it was so easy.
I am certain that I will use this site to book my flights again.
Kept checking for the best airline fare and each time, they
Came first per cost of tickets plus taxes. Anyway the only problem
Problem was selection of sexes which was promptly fixed
By a costumer representative and everything went well afterward.
I encourage everyone to give it trial because the website is
Very user friendly
Again, another website with so much pros and contras. People seem to love it or hate it. And again, I have to say people should take more care when they buy stuff in internet, or at least read everything and very important, the terms of condition. Cheap flights companies are normally this way, last time I had problems of double booking with ryanair and it was hard to find the way to get my money back, but it worked. I use this website as an alternative to other ones, I normally check 3 or 4 to see the prices, and here I was able to book my flights cheaper than in other ones a couple of times. But again, check all the options and fees very well.
I was really stressed out about travel and the cost for a last minute trip to an important contest and I decided to download the Cheap O Air iPhone app just to see the prices while I was on the road and I was shocked to see how much cheaper they were compared to other sites or the direct airlines. I was very pleased with how simple it was to use and with the the choices of flights I had!
I MADE A HOEL RESERVATION MAY 3RD 2011 FOR 7/11/11. I CALLED CHEAPOSTAY ON 7/09/11 TO CHANGE THE DATES BECAUSE OF ILLNESS IN MY FAMILY... THEY SAID THEY COULD NOT CHANGE BOOKING DATE...
SAID THEY WOULD TRY BUT I WOULD GET AN E-MAIL WITH IN 24 TO 48 HRS. LOTS OF LUCK...
TO ALL OF YOU OUT THERE BE WARE, THEY ARE BAD!
Answer: I would not use Cheapo under any circumstances. Look at the 698 (!) complaints at the Better Business Bureau website. They hide under the name Fareportal, which is the parent company.
Answer: Don't use them. Book through the airline. I paid to select my seats, then a week before my flight they put me and my companion in the middle seats in different rows!
Answer: Security may not be an issue but they can cheat you by hiding information you should know. I would suggest to not use them and their customer service personnel are also worst I have ever seen.
Answer: Provide the 8 digit booking number and what you need assistance with. Our apologies for the inconvenience
Answer: You can't and they will steal your money like what they did to me
Answer: Because they are scam, they just want to steal money from our pocket
