City data forum is for extremist conspiracy theorists Trumpers. The members are so out there that it almost seems like a satire site like the Onion. Sadly it's not. Bunch of backwards ignorant bigots. Don't waste your time, anyone who isn't a wacko Trumper will get banned.

My account of many years was summarily banned by the Denver moderator for posting an honest question about the transgender population in the Denver area.

I sent a PM to one of the site administrators, and never received a response. This is the problem when you make various moderators into little dictators with unlimited power. Too bad. However, bit does explain why their site tends to have very little participation despite having been around for decades.

Some interesting chats but very one sided--- go against the grain the mods shuts you down, then you see others with absolutely no stops just go on and on. Some very nasty posters win the monetary prices... Go figure. Mods need to be replaced - seems they lose sight of the point of having a public forum.

I will no longer post on city-data after this past week. I joined because it seemed like a good idea, but there are way to many keyboard warriors who take advantage of anonymity in order to insult others, and the moderators don't seem to mind. One moderator, BucFan, joins in and has contributed to ruining the Tampa Bay sub forum. Don't waste your time joining discussions on city-data.com

Majority of the advice you'll get here is really bad. Most of the members posting on here have some sort of political agenda and will give you false information about areas based on their views.

The views tend to be far right wing and extremely conservative which is fine but it taints their thinking. If you seek a christian fundamentalist community in the bible belt it's fine but if you seek other options you'll get propaganda and biased reviews.

Don't trust anything they say about a city or neighborhood. I've read reviews of members describing nice neighborhoods as ghettos just because the area has too many bars that are open late.

Stay away.

Far too many people are allowed to post racist content and go unchecked. When you respond to these people and try to have discourse you're made a villain and your thread is deleted. This happened numerous times in just a couple weeks. Racism runs rampant in the political section and is allowed to breathe freely without consequence. People cheering the death of 15/16 yo boys who were shot to death while committing a crime. Many posters saying blacks, mexicans, and asians should all be shipped into one state to keep their neighborhoods safe. This forum breeds hate and should be viewed as such.

I looked at every name on every page of the sex offender registration you people put out, not one damn time did I see the name of the man that raped my 4y old. He's got more than one child rape case but with sites like this no would know what he is. I'm telling people that use this site for information stop don't waste your time or money they don't have it rite. People that pay for information about different types of things they do, if your trying to get the word out about a new business stay away from here. I'm the voice of my baby girl.

This place is a joke anymore. You cant have a different opinion from other posters. The either 30 and under moderators who dont know their butt from a hole in the ground or the granny moderators who are really hands off ban for the least little thing. Open forum? Not hardly. Some of those mods are real biotches Chain smokers, soap opera watching hypocrites. Ban me? I have to laugh af all the posts accusing City-Data of favoring liberals. I was continually edited by a moderator for expressing my anti-Trump opinions on the political forum. I'm actually not a liberal, but that doesn't mean I need to be happy he's our president. Anyway, I was banned for having a "duplicate account" and I never created one. In fact, my comment on the last thread in which I posted was very tame. It was a little off-topic, but only in response to several others that were a lot stronger in tone. I guess the "duplicate account" excuse is when they can't think of any other reason to kick you off the forum. It was a nice way to kill some time, however, so I'll give it 2 stars. There are also some very helpful members on a few of the forums, but there is just as much erroneous information and too many people who turn everything into an argument.

Wow, what a terrible website. For one, know that it is heavily moderated - and not in a good way. The moderators aren't looking to weed out false, misleading, or offensive posts. They're looking to maintain their personal biases.

The whole original premise of the website, gaining useful information about particular cities/areas, goes out the window, since the city forums are dominated by one or two moderators who post glowing anecdotes about their city, and delete any dissenting posts.

Then there's the politics forum. What a freaking cesspool. You can post any trash you want, as long as you post pro-Trump, or pro-republican stuff. Post anything remotely critical of Trump - you will be banned as a troll. (This had happened to about a dozen accounts I have created in the past few months).

The owner of the site is some sketchy Eastern European character, so no surprise it is so pro-Trump.

I was banned from this site twice for having an opinion. I was terrorized and bullied on both of my accounts by MODs because apparently being a moderator means constantly suspending, giving out infractions and eventually banning people who don't agree with you.

If any of the OG posters come for you they can label you a troll and the MODs will follow suit and ban you.

Several of my threads or posts were deleted because they didn't agree with what I was saying. I was given an infraction for posting MY OWN pictures and even after being informed they still left the infraction and then proceeded to suspend me.

I was eventually banned for challenging a poster who said slavery was good for black people. Damn near everyone I started off posting with [2006 join date] were banned by the time I was banned 4 years ago.

The site is racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, promotes pedophilia and more.

If you're into all these things, you'll love it there.

Gathering place for MAGA racists. Moderators who challenge their white supremacist views will be banned immediately. It's so far right and racist that it almost seems like a satire forum. Conspiracy theories that are really out there and outlandish that it's comical.

They only get a star because no stars wasnt an option. If you a man or a victim of sexual assault, do not participate in talks about sexual assault. Members will call you a rape fan and a rapist if you dont believe women or question an accuser or conviction. The mods allow this behavior with no real consequence. The inmates are running the asylum.

Went looking for advice and found a forum for White Nationalists/misogynistic homophobic bigots. Site is a safe space for your garden variety bigot to spew their racist nonsense and lunatic conspiracy theories. Bunch of angry rural folks clamoring for the next civil war as if the last butt kicking didn't teach them a lesson.

The whole website has no control or professionalism. Moderators have complete power without any constitutional rules. The Moderator in Politics & Other Controversies section is the most unprofessional and bans any liberal comment as "trolling" meanwhile allowing any gross and sickening statements from so called "conservatives" (although they are against FDR, Kennedy, etc).

I was permanently banned from this lovely site (darn it) for defending celebration of MLK day, as opposed to a day to celebrate Robert E. Lee, their golden boy. I may have made a fatal error, however, by mentioning the fact that yes, he was a slave owner (which they still seem to want to deny) and a rather brutal one at that. I am really not a troll.

Members post fake news from ultra-right fringe sites all the time. It is taken as gospel by the mods. Supposedly it's TOS forbids this.

My town has an issue with pit bulls. They we're attacking pets and today a person was attacked. I look to City Data to find a good town who enforces dangerous dog laws and is strict. Its my number one concern. This is what I find:

City data seems to allow multiple posters to talk about adults molesting underaged persons (teens, kids) as if it were normal and perfectly okay. I have screenshots of posts that I have taken on this site over a period of months that I have saved in a Word document. They apparently do not ban these posters. The moderators are part of the problem. They either pay no attention to what's going on or they don't care.

If you are thinking you are going to partake in an interesting forum with smart opinions, know you are in for dissapointment. It is a bunch of provincial folks talking about races, skin colors, most powerful armies, which cities are the coolest, country versus country, what place has the most attractive women and all that kind of topics.

There is something very creepy and bizarre in this forum when you evaluate the judgemental and hostile behavior of the moderators. What is wrong with this site that they would allow such censorship and rudeness by the moderators? Very childish people running city data forum. You are warned. They dont tolerate intelligent debate, or even sharing the news if they dont like that news. The rules says you can share links to news and quotes but I was still harrassed and bullied when I did. One of them said "KNOCK IT OFF!"... I think they have some real egomaniacs over there.

I keep getting "infractions" for incredibly inane stuff.

Two years ago, I was given several infractions because I posted copyrighted material (photos), and yet they were MY photos!

I tried to explain that repeatedly to the moderators and was told, "This discussion is over."

I give up. The forum is interseting, but apparently, I'm just not the popular girl in high school anymore, so I got voted off the island.

A lot of the posters who seemed to be in good standing with the forum and the community are suddenly "Not a member". I mean those people were in good standing last time I checked. Now, I got some unfair infractions because of a moderator who had/has it out for me. She decided to twist something I said and falsely accuse me. I thought I'd be one of those that are "not a member". After all, a lot of the other posters were quite irritated and tired of me...

It sure does seem like the City-Data of today is a lot different from City-Data of 10 or so years ago.
