This place is a complete scam. I sent 2 boxes. Both boxes were delivered by UPS same day however Decluttr claims they lost one. In the second box they claim there are missing items. Do not send anything to Decluttr unless you never want to see it again.
I've only written maybe 3 reviews in my life, however this company really needs a wake up call considering there are many more just like them! I needed help removing some extremely heavy items. It seemed like a fair price, however, after keeping me on the phone for literally 25 minutes telling me stories about other customers and then basically getting into a debate on why family people should work Saturdays like himself? I didn't care about his personal choices, I only wanted to
Know if I could have a Saturday or I would need to go elsewhere and he his response was to Hang Up on me?
So I immediately called another company, same price, great customer service!
He's needs to change careers or something.
I offered my Playstation 4 to them for $160, and shipped it. I received an email from them saying its inoperable offering 10% ($16) or send back. I want it back, it was in nearly like new but not like new condition. They sent it to me in a way that I now have to sue to get my asset/value back, & I'm willing to.
~Very unhelpful, very harmful
I bought 3 dvds from decluttr and it took roughly 6 days to get them. One was even brand new. I feel I got a pretty good deal for what I bought. I bought, Empire of the Sun, It's a Wonderful Life, and One Flew over the cuckoo nest. Unfortunately I already have empire but didn't realize it.
The reason I give four stars instead of 5 is two fold. First my order took longer than 3-4 days to arrive (which really isn't a problem) and second because the packing didn't have any protection. Not even bubble wrap.
I tried to sell them my iPhone 7. It was, IMO, in pretty good condition, with no obvious issues. The speed and ease of their service was good, which is why they get 2 stars instead of 1. However...
I rated my phone as Good and might have accepted a Fair, but they classified it with a Poor (or Faulty) rating due to, apparently, the front and back mics being 'faulty'. Or rather their PhoneCheck test said the quality was muffled or distorted. I take issue with this since I've recorded audio with my phone and have used it for 5 years with no microphone issues. I might have accepted a Fair evaluation because of a mic issue, but Faulty is just too much. Frankly I think this is just them trying to increase their profit by reducing my phone's valuation. I'm really waffling on whether to have them send it back of just accept the offer. I would have been better off using Apple's trade-in option.
When I first started selling my used and (even several new items) on this site, they paid about the best out there. Now, it is hit and miss. It's really not worth my time and I've either trashed a lot of my stuff or sold it in lots on ebay. They will offer only 5-50 cents for many fairly popular CD's & DVD's. The case alone is worth 20 cents to me.
I was sending them new items and still not getting any more than used. They will refuse to pay you for items even if the UPC works in their system. This usually occurs if it from a music club. Their "customer service" people are lousy to deal with
And always make the seller out to be wrong. I doubt that I will do anymore business with them. Do yourselves a favor and give them to charity. You won't make any money here, because they just resell them on other sites.
This site is only good for the games and dvds and books, the media option. Very easy to use with the bar code scanner and the immediate price they give you. The electronics like phones and tablets you are going to get the same thing anywhere else you go, they are always going to find something wrong or are going to send you a new offer once received. You'll find that anywhere. I really had good experience with the media, they paid for the shipping labels, and they paid me quick, the same week I sent it out, and they didn't change the price for any of the games. This is the 5th time I used them and have been happy with each one. So I would recommend only using them for games, dvds books and even cds. Very good experience with those.
I've sent in a MacBook Air, for which they've offered me a fair price. However, I caNNOT reach them to either accept or decline the offer. I've lost the password I used to set up my account and despite ENDLESS attempts to communicate with them, I can't reach a human being who comprehends the issue. They just keep sending me emails reminding me that I'm running out of time to accept or decline the offer — but I can't respond to those emails without my password. I'm very, very frustrated.
On 11/30/20 I purchased a Pixel 3 in pristine condition (order R*******). The phone was shipped quickly, and I received it and activated it on 12/3. Immediately upon booting up the phone I noticed a small pixel burn at the bottom of the boot screen. The burn persisted during regular use of the phone as well as on the lock screen. Since I had bought a phone in "pristine" condition that had allegedly passed a 90-point inspection (including a screen pixel test), I was very disappointed by this. I continued to use the phone for 3 days to see if I could live with the burn. However, on 12/6 I decided to return it.
I was disappointed to find that Decluttr offered no option for talking with someone live (phone or chat) and that I had to submit a form to request a refund. After submitting a form I waited a day. Then I waited a 2nd day. But I still had not heard from a human. Finally, on the 3rd day I found an email address and sent an email. Still no response from a human. On the 4th day I sent another email. I also began reading reviews about Decluttr online and was a bit scared by what I read: plenty of allegations of Decluttr not responding to communication and\or damaging phones that had been sold to them. I began wondering: if their communication is this bad, what would happen if I tried to get them to honor their warranty? Finally, on 12/12 I finally heard from a human. To be fair, Jenny (the agent who responded) was polite, professional, and honored my request for a full refund. She also responded to subsequent replies quickly, issued my refund promptly upon receiving the phone I sent back.
My main reason for buying from Decluttr was their advertised 12 month warranty & 90-point phone check test to certify it as refurbished. However, my experience with receiving a phone that clearly hadn't been examined closely during their 90-point check process, coupled with taking nearly a week to respond to my requests left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. Until they offer better customer service that provides responses from humans within 24 hours, I will not buy from them again.
Good website in internet and help people to learn...
I paid for voice recognition software for pc and got a karate movie.
Then they want me to ship it back at my expensive.
Never again would I do business with this company.
Was quoted over $17 for 10 items, received $2. They claimed a brand new book & game were unacceptable. When I told them I had pictures of everything before I packed, they stopped communications. Absolute fraud! Sell your things elsewhere.
Sold two brand new / unopened Microsoft Surface Pro's to Decluttr. Their website said they would pay $261/ea. Once they finally said they received them (4 days after UPS delivered them), they offered me $13.05 for the first one. Have read too many reviews about this practice at this company.
What a rip-off. Sure wish I read more reviews before sending off an iPhone. The screen protector had one simple crack, but the screen was A+...however, these folks took the position to report my "Screen was completely smashed..." Now, if I get it back (waiting now) and find the screen smashed, well, that makes them even more dishonest. I took photos and packaged the iPhone very well. I'd suggest dealing with a more reliable trade-in group, or service with a better reputation. When I finally got around to looking at their record, boy was it awful!
Tried to sell a phone and dvds. Took the dvds then looked for any reason not to pay out the phone offer. If you look hard enough you can find any reason not fo pay. Then offered a ridiculous 37 bucks from over 200. I'd flush it before I gave it fo them for that price. Says passed every test but sounds a little muffled when you try to record your voice on the phone. I never really use that feature so no clue furthermore it's a used phone. Will it work better now or when I bought it 3 years ago use common sense sane as any item like a car or appliance. The screen was not cracked no scratches and it worked. If I knew they were going to go Sherlock Holmes on it I wouldn't have sent it. It tied up my phone abs prevented me from selling it to a normal company like a GameStop. I only went ti Decluttr because they offered a little more. All in all a waste of time I'll be waiting for my item back fo sell it somewhere else
The process worked exactly as described. Reviewed a quote based on my description, label for return and off it went. The received it in about 5 days per UPS. They acknowledged receipt and then told me they were reviewing my phone to see if it matched what I said. Within in a day the money of the price quoted was as in my PayPal account. I know others have noted differences here but that was not the case for me. This was so much easier than trading in through my carrier. I have a very good experience and got a fair price but more importantly this was so quick and easy! I'd recommend using them in the future.
On July 9 I sent my MS Surface in for the promised $60 payment. A few days later they claimed that it had camera damage and they would only pay me six dollars. The surface had hardly ever been used except as a desktop, so I don't believe that claim was correct. I asked for my Surface back, and after over a month I have still not received it. Not happy with them at all.
I purchased a phone in good condition expecting wear and tear on the sides and maybe some light scratching on the screen. Instead the the entire phone looks like it's been kicked and thrown around. Back front and sides are chipped. Screen looks like previous owner tried to sand the screen down and left swirling scratches all over. There is also a small chip or crack in the glass on the screen. There is no usb type c or wall jack to test the phones software. There is a sticker on the back of the phone that says it was still awaiting testing /grading. Looks like they just threw whatever came in right in a shipping box and sent it to me without checking it. I also paid for 2 day air delivery, which they charged me for but then sent the phone ups ground. Customer service only responds vaguely to half of what you say in an email and getting that half a response takes days. I've been waiting 3 days for a response about a return label so I can be done with this "company."
Same scam you're hearing from others: they quoted me $237 for an iPad Pro in great condition. I sent the iPad in (carefully shipped) and they claimed the screen had "pressure marks" and lowered their offer to $27.
I rejected the offer and requested my item back. It took them 10 days to ship in the location is only 10 miles from me.
I've since sold the iPad on eBay for $200.
Don't waste your time with Decluttr
The xbox and controller I purchased was in extremely poor condition. I emailed them to send it back, only for them to send a blank return label and then ignore any following emails. Would not recommend doing business with this company.
Answer: It is a legit company that reserves the right to keep your stuff and not pay you
Answer: I go to the library and print out shipping label. Go to Yahoo mail, or whoever you use, and you can print from there. Hope this helps Julie! And YES, they suck!
Answer: I've never purchased from them, only sold, but if they're dishonest in one direction it seems likely that they're dishonest in the other direction too.
Answer: Seemed legit and were mentioned on several respected web sites
