Ive been buying shoes at deluth since they opened in rhode island, every pair i buy lasts less time. Im done and wont be back.
This is my first time purchasing anything from Duluth trading company. I was disappointed in the inaccurate delivery time, customer service and overall product. My current jacket had worn through, so I ordered Duluth's Bear Hide Fleece Jacket. I ordered this jacket on Thursday Nov 23rd under the assumption that it would arrive reasonably close to the estimated delivery date which was Friday December 1st. Duluth uses a third-party delivery company called pitney bowes that delivers the order to usps who then delivers to the customer. I was able to check delivery updates from pitney bowes website. December 1st came and went with no further delivery updates and no jacket. The tracking info still said it was estimated to be delivered Dec 1st. Monday December 4th, I went on to pitney bowes website to try and find a customer service/inquiry section. What I found on their website under "where's my package" inquiry was this "If you have questions about the status of your delivery or return, contact the retailer directly or marketplace where you made your purchase. Pitney Bowes provides a service for these companies and does not have this information." I then called Duluth as directed by pitney bowes website. When I explained my issue, I was told that the confusing tracking happens all the time, they don't know why, they don't have any more information for me and to call pitney bowes. I explained again what pitney bowes website says and I was told to call Duluth again in 4 days if it still hadn't arrived. At this point I asked if I could cancel my order. I was told no. They told me that I would need to wait until the package arrives to start a return order. The ETA eventually updated, and it was delivered 5 days later on Saturday. I ordered and XL jacket. I am 5'11" 240lbs with a 36inch waist. XL is sometimes too small to fit my shoulders and chest. This jacket was bigger than many XXL jackets I have worn. The fit was terrible. Now I'm paying $8.00 to return it.
Duluth Trading is dead to me...
I ordered 2 Coolmax shirts from Duluth Trading Company. It took 2 weeks for one shirt to arrive. I heard nothing about the status of the 2nd shirt; nothing. I then emailed Duluth and told them my second shirt has not arrived yet and wanted to know when to expect it. This is what they wrote back:
Thank you for your recent email.
We apologize that sometimes products sell better than we expect them to, and sometimes we end up short. We always hustle to get them back in stock as soon as we can. Unfortunately, there are also times when we are unable to re-stock some of our products, including clearance items Men's COOLMAX Wrinklefighter Short Sleeve Shirt.
Be assured you were not charged for the shirt nor charged shipping.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
Sincerely,
Kay K.
Customer Service
To sum up, Duluth Trading must have a very poor distribution system if a customer orders a product, indicates its in stock and then never ship it or notifies you. I run a small e-commerce site and my inventory levels are automatically updated when a customer places an order, that product earmarked and fulfilled for that customer... period. Whats more is the email response is lackadaisical, lacking empathy. Also their email doesn't indicate in my particular case whether the shirt I ordered is discontinued and canceled or whether its in perpetual backorder. No discounts were offered as to make-up for the mistake; nothing but hollow words to tick one off. Someone in management needs to be replaced. Duluth Trading is dead to me... and should be checked off your purchasing list.
I recently had the unfortunate experience of ordering shorts from Duluth Trading Company, only to receive the wrong size. The ensuing ordeal of trying to exchange the item has been nothing short of exasperating, pushing me to pen this one-star review to caution potential customers.
The online exchange process seemed initially straightforward. I promptly printed the return label and sent the item back on the same day I received it. To my relief, I received an email that very evening, stating that my return had been processed. But, alas, this was a false reassurance - the beginning of a frustratingly convoluted system.
Fast forward two weeks, with no replacement shorts in sight, I decided to contact their customer service. What I learned was nothing short of a shock. Despite the automated email's claims, my return had not been processed due to a whopping 5-week backlog in the returns department! And what's more, they were expecting me to wait an additional 3 weeks before they would even open my return package and process the exchange.
The customer service agent, while honest, offered no solutions to expedite the process. Her remarks were far from comforting; she essentially told me, "We're not Amazon", justifying their delays as a fraud prevention measure. What left me disheartened was not merely the waiting but the lack of initiative from the company to rectify the situation. This glaring indifference towards customer experience is unacceptable in today's digital shopping landscape.
In a last-ditch attempt to salvage the situation, I asked to cancel the order. After a 5-minute hold, I was informed that they had a procedure to cancel and they would get to it. But again, there was no indication of how long this would take, leaving me in a state of utter uncertainty.
While the quality of Duluth Trading Company's products might be commendable, their customer service leaves much to be desired. It feels like they've entirely missed the point of what 'service' in 'customer service' entails. The experience has been time-consuming, nerve-wracking, and simply put, the worst customer service I've had to deal with.
In the era of instant online shopping, Duluth Trading Company's inaction and inefficiencies leave a sour taste. I would, therefore, advise potential customers to think twice before shopping here, lest they find themselves entangled in a labyrinth of poor customer service.
You have been warned.
I've been a Deluth fan for years. Years ago, I won a Duluth picture contest with two of my dogs dressed up in their outerwear.
About a year ago, I bought a pair of Duluth garden overalls. While I was wearing the Garden overalls I noticed the fabric on one of the legs had melted. WOW WOW! I figured I must have stood too close to our campfire. I wasn't burned, but the overalls were toast. However, since I liked the overalls, I replaced them with another pair. They arrived. I wore them. And the same thing happened. But this time, I was paying attention and never got closer than 5 feet to the campfire, which isn't even an open fire. I called Duluth Trading Company. I spoke to three different levels of customer service. And was told the following...#1 is a direct quote in writing.
1. These overalls are made of 96% Ripstop Nylon and 4% Spandex. This material is not flame resistant. Any nylon will melt when too close to a fire.
2. These are garden overalls. The customer service rep was not amused when I asked if I could smoke weed in the garden overalls without igniting into flames. Smoking in them is not recommended. BBQing is also not recommended--These overalls aren't made for fun just flames.
3. We can not share a corporate email (when I asked to email someone at their corporate office). Google was my friend, but Neala Shepherd, Vice President - Merchandising and Marketing, does not respond to emails or phone calls.
4. Please don't assume that it's our fault. Your leg was too close to the fire pit. Not once did anyone ask if I was burned.
5. No, this is not a safety issue if people don't stand close to a fire.
6. There no bull warranty was BS. They would not refund my money.
Deluth and I are breaking up before I go up in flames. DO NOT STAND BY ANY OPEN FLAME WHILE WEARING THESE OVERALLS.
Answer: It is a scam. They don't follow their own policies. Buy elsewhere.
Answer: They profess to have a NO BULL guarantee. That's it, no fine print. But there is fine print, well hidden on their site.
Answer: It was not difficult getting Customer Service. My return was denied twice by email, twice by phone and once by a supervisor. It was the 5th effort that finally got me through to a supervisor who gave me the credit.
Answer: My order has taken over SIX WEEKS AND STILL NOT DELIVERED. Most ALL PRODUCTS ARE MADE, STORED AND SHIPPED FROM CHINA. You always get what you pay for!
Answer: You should call them and explain. They should replace them. Last year, they would have replaced them. They are different now so I can't say what they will do. If they refuse, call back over and over again until you get a reasonable agent on the phone. Ask for a supervisor also, if needed.
