This company makes me want to pull my hair out and scream! The shuttle service was an absolute nightmare! The driver placed our bags into the vehicle, but when time came to get into the shuttle, all the seats were taken! We asked the shuttle driver what to do, and he said to "squeeze in or something". SQUEEZE IN?!?!? There were already people sitting others laps, not to mention the danger of that situation. The driver then proceeded to throw our bags out of the car without an apology! Then, he told us that this was the only shuttle the company had at the airport, so it would be another 15 minutes until the same shuttle arrives. When the shuttle came, our family rushed to the vehicle, squeezing to get a seat. Once we got to the rental building, there was a humongous line leading outside the building. It took an hour just to get to the front of the line, and the employees offered us a car. A customer behind us warned us that this car had balled tires, and it is ridiculous that another customer told us this instead of the company itself! Then, it took us another half hour to get the car! Our family is just trying to enjoy a nice vacation, but this place actually ruined the magic. The rest of our family was out relaxing and eating lunch as we starved just trying to get a car! I swear I shall never visit Ft. Lauderdale Easirent ever again!

Zero Stars!
July 31, 2019

This was by far the worst car rental experience I've ever had. Waited for over an hour for the Orlando airport collection shuttle to arrive; the phone number provided is an automated message and there was no way of contacting the car rental company; they did not have the SUV I had booked and "upgraded" me to a people carrier i. E. a car I didn't want; the car was dirty and only 1/4 full; the inspection report which I signed at 23h00 indicated no scratches, etc. which turned out not to be the case when I looked at the car in the light of (next) day; there was a real hard sell on a toll fee for the rental period amounting to over $200 which I had to decline several times (and ended up spending ~$5 in toll fees over 16 days); my prepaid rental agreement with EasyRentCars.Com, a booking portal, included zero excess which Easirent refused to honour this and insisted that I take out additional excess insurance through them or accept an $1800 excess liability which I reluctantly was forced to do.

I don't trust them
December 29, 2015

Similar to other commenters, I was also put under pressure to buy additional insurance from them, even though I already had purchased full insurance cover when I booked through rentalcars.com. I didn't buy the insurance. When I returned the car, it turned out the left wing mirror was damaged. Although I have no way to prove it, I suspect that it may have been damaged before I took the car. Of course it's possible that someone ran into the wing mirror when the car was parked, but it was parked only in a very quite cul de sac. The pre-hire check was done in the dark with a torch, and I don't remember the staff member shining the torch on the wing mirrors. I was required to pay on the spot £290 for the damaged wing mirror, £50 admin fee plus VAT amounting to £398 altogether. No quotation or invoice for car repair, just on their say so. I don't see why this couldn't be claimed from rentalcar.com since I already had insurance. Having seen all these negative reviews, I definitely wouldn't hire from this company again.

0/5 Stars
September 24, 2017

If 0/5 was possible, Easirent would deserve it. By far the worst customer service i have ever experienced in my life.

Upon renting the car we were suggested to pay for a full tank of gas.
We told the employee that we were only driving to cambridge and would not be needing a full tank.
He told us something along the lines (was difficult to understand 100%) that it would be the same price,
So he suggested that, thats what we should do. He did NOT tell us that we wouldnt get money refunded for unspent gas even though we clearly told him we did not want a full tank.
We agreed to buy the tank and upon returning, a second employee told us we would not be getting money back for unused gas
(completely new information). He told us that we could go down and fill up the tank, return it full and he would try and
Change the contract for a possible refund. Upon return suddenly he was not able to do anything at all to help us,
Except that he suggested that we could write to customer service.
We did upon returning home - and ofcourse, customer service will not take any responsibility for the words of the employees
At stanstead. In the end, due to ridiculously poor service we ended up paying 58 GBP for about a a quarter of gas.
Needless to say we were stunned by the service we recieved at Easirent. To top this hilarious experience this, customer service gave us a coupon for 10% off on the next car hire :D ( L O L).
Easirent is basically a 100% scam company. Simple as that, don't use them even though they are "Cheap".

We flew JetBlue and when we booked our flight via OneTravel - the company recommended EASIRENT. So we went with that. When we arrived they told the couple in front of us that there was a 250 deposit, but that it didn't work and they couldn't charge them. So cool- we get up there and they told us about a 250 deposit And was going to charge us. Then they asked for ins and wanted my declaration page of my insurance policy number? Why they need that? So I got frustrated - I mean at this point I felt like this was a rip off. So a rental that was 38 bucks cost us 238 plus a 250 deposit. For a dang Versa. Really?' I think they prey on people
We left - they did not give me a contract for the rental. I had to call the next day to get it emailed.

So on the return - this was really disorganized - we had to sign in and wait - only to find out the sign in was for pick up and not drop offs. Ugh! Most of the people who rent from this place are black and brown people ( which I am one as well) and I think they take advantage of our demographic. I will NEVER rent from this place. The only person who was pleasant was the shuttle driver

Oh did I mention that - this is NOT LOCATED AT THE AIRPORT! So give yourself enough time to drop off the car, ride a shuttle and go to the airport.

This is the worse customer service ever

The rental was advertise at 15 bucks a day

We were there 4 days.

Customer beware

DO NOT HIRE
September 7, 2017

The branch I hired from was the rudest employees. They constantly talked down to us and told us incomplete information.

They had us waiting for an hour at the airport. I had phoned them and arranged for a transfer when I landed, they said 10 minutes wait in zone 14. Waited there for after walking 2 minutes from hanging up the phone and waited 30 minutes till I phoned up to see what happened, apparently the driver showed up, I later discovered had seen him (was not in an easirent logoed uniform) and he had ignored us, and went back to branch without phoning us (at the airport or at the branch). So we had to wait another 20 before been driven to the branch.

The car they gave us was not road worthy and could have caused an accident if I hadn't checked it round the corner from the branch and topping up.

Returning the car, you are pushily guided to a minibus full of other disgruntled customers and taken to terminal 2. We were kicked out in the middle of the road, he did not bother pulling into the drop off space to let us out.

Terrible company, do not go near them

CarJet.com and Easirent.com WARNING! WARNING! Are part of the same company
I rented a car from CarJet.com for collection on 29/06/2019 from Birmingham Airport at 12.30.
My flight Number was EI 3264
The flight was delayed by 3.5 hrs from Dublin and therefore I was unable to get to Birmingham on time.
I rang Easirent.com when I arrived at Birmingham ( as instructed) and it took them 50 mins to arrive and was then asked to go to their depot to collect the car.
I ( and my family) proceeded to collect the car from Easirent.com Birmingham and I was told by Easirent.com representative, `` You are over 2 hours late and the car has been given to another customer``
I asked, ``was this stipulation on the Terms & Conditions``, and got no reply!.
I requested another car therefore and I was told, `` The money you paid for the Car Hire is non refundable as you are over 2 hours late collecting it, so therefore you can book another car but you must pay for it again ``, which I refused!
I rang Head Office of CarJet.com and was told the same. `` Sorry but should you want another car you must pay for it again``
I had 4 family members with me and all the luggage and had no alternative but to get a taxi from Easirent Depot to my hotel.
I have checked the Booking with CarJet and can not see any reference to being late collecting the car.

SCAM - Stay Away!
August 30, 2018

After being quoted £46 for a two day car hire from Edinburgh airport, my partner and I were impressed with the low price and booked a vehicle. Upon arrival to the airport we had to get a bus to the rental place which was quite a jaunt from the airport, rather than finding an office we found ourselves in a mobile shelter/shack. It was unwelcoming, cold and full of people moaning at the desks about unfair and hidden charges. We should have walked away then but it was so early in the morning and we were in a strange place. After a 45 minute wait we were told that if we did not have a credit card we could not hire the vehicle. Instead, they charged us two separate amounts. One of £146 and one of £70 to make up for the lack of a credit card. The actual hire ended up costing £51 and the man told us once the car was returned we would be refunded for the rest. It was a massive hassle and terribly confusing but they knew we had no other option than to pay these extra costs. The vehicle itself was fine and in good condition. Once we took the car back the person we spoke to said we didn't need to fill in any forms and that we would get a confirmation email to say our refunds will be on our way to us. No email arrived so I called them the next day. They told me that the refunds can take up to 10 days to go through. I waited. My partner received his back but 14 days later I was still out of pocket. After calling back I spoke to a chap who said my money was not to be refunded and that it was taken in place of using a credit card and was in fact a charge. I was so disappointed as I had been told otherwise, and was depending on that money to be returned to us. We feel totally lied to and left short changed. We would never hire from this company again and I urge anyone to stay well clear! An absolute scam. Car hire quote = £46, actual cost = £121

This was the worst experience I have ever had with a company. From the delayed shuttle driver (over 30 min wait at airport to take me to the rental location 7 min away), the wait at the counter for my rental, the breakdown of the vehicle left me stranded on Sunday, 11/22/2020 at a restaurant at 2pm. Did I mention I flew in to see my cousin for the weekend on her final days and she died that morning at 10:22 from cancer at 53 yrs old, to the phone # that rings off the hook&no one picks up & can't leave messages to the customer service rep who didn't care if I had a vehicle replacement during my trip & kept transferring me back to the unattended phone #, to the customer service rep stating it was my fault I should have called my insurance b/c their car broke down and proceeded to yell at me and then hang up when I asked for his manager. I hope calls are recorded that was on 11/23/2020, to ringing the local Ft Myers Location Ph# 30 times for 2 days (proof) not one person answered and then customer service # -5 people in line 4 people in line down to me in line call says transferring to an agent phone rings a bunch more times at then it disconnects. This happened about 30 times-no joke. Never received a call back or follow up and had to leave the car at a location where it wouldn't start in Florida and dropped the key fob off at the Ft Meyers location drop box. Had to get a ride for my 7am flight Monday, 11/23.2020. I would never rent from this company--EVER! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

Easirent. NEVER AGAIN
May 11, 2021

Easirent? NEVER AGAIN.
1. They were UNREACHABLE when I tried to call them to inform that my flight was cancelled and I had to fly in the next day. They then charged me over $150 for a "reinstatement fee" (my rental went from 15 days to 14 days, they charged for the full 15 days +$150).
2. The car was dented, damaged and had some rust (fortunately I took many photos prior to rental which I highly recommend).
3. There were bugs that BITE in the vehicle (some kind of ant – but there were quite a few).
4. There were plastic bottles and trash under the seats (not cleaned well)
5. Upon arrival, they informed me that if I did not have my personal insurance card (I planned to use my credit card's insurance) they would HAVE TO charge me for insurance which ranged to $25+ per day. By shear luck, my daughter was in her car when I called her and was able to send a photo of the policy and I avoided this (approx. $350) charge.
6. Upon arrival the documents at the counter said a passport was mandatory to rent (it was a domestic flight).
7. Upon arrival, there was only one person at the counter and it took about 40 minutes (after waiting 15 minutes for a shuttle and another 10 minutes for the shuttle ride) to rent the car. Over one hour total to pick up the car.
8.10 minutes after leaving, the tire light went on. The tire had a slow leak. Every day I had to put some air in. I noted that all the tires had caps over the valves except the one with the leak so it clearly predated my rental.
9. I have rented over 500 cars in my life (business travel). I've *never* had an extra charge for "reinstatement", *never* had an unreachable company, *never* gotten a damaged car (except when I was a kid renting from "rent-a-wreck", I've *never* been asked for my insurance info and a passport when renting domestically. The whole experience was appalling.
10. This company has a one-star rating in many places – IMO, the poor rating is well-justified!

I am not one to write reviews, but this is the worst company I have ever interacted with and I urge any potential customer to stay away—the fares appear cheap, but you will likely end up paying more (in money and hassle) in the end.

I rented a car from Edinburgh Airport. Upon collecting the car, I learned that the "full coverage" that I had purchased online was not comprehensive insurance, and I had to pay another £200 for full insurance. Next, during my trip, my car got a tire puncture. Despite having bought full insurance on the car, we were told a recovery/tow service would be an additional charge. Fortunately, a mechanic dispatched by Easirent told us it was safe to drive to the garage, so we didn't require recovery. Despite this, a few weeks later I received an unauthorized charge on my credit card for about £300, which I was told was for a recovery service we never used. After many calls to the branch and corporate offices, during which I was given the go-around by several staff members, Easirent admitted this was a mistake and said they had processed a refund. But the refund never came—after two months of escalating complaints to the highest level through the online complaint system, the best they could tell me was that my refund was in their "queue of refunds", with no estimate for when I would get my money back. Completely exasperated, I finally contested the charge with my credit card company, who helped me get my money back. The entire process took about 6 months. I don't believe that I would've ever gotten my money back from Easirent had I not taken the issue up with my credit card. From reading other reviews, it sounds like many customers have received bogus charges from Easirent and struggled to get their money back. If this happens to you—please take up the issue with your credit card company ASAP as there is a limited window for contesting charges!

In summary: Easirent is a terribly unprofessional company with abysmal customer service, hidden fees, and scammy practices—avoid them and report any issues you experience with them to the consumer rights bureau!

Bad!
October 16, 2015

We rented two 9 seaters at Easirent via Indigo Car Hire with full insurance.
At the pickup it turned out screen and tyres were not insured... Discussion was useless: we had to pay. After that we were assured we were fully insured for anything that could happen.
Also we had to give our full creditcard information "in case of speedtickets etc.".
Cars were good and clean, but only filled with fuel worth 25 GBP (what we had to pay).
Later I slowly bumped on a sloping parking place on a guard rail and the radiatior made a cracking sound: cooling fluid came out.
Vauxhall Assistance/AA considered it an accident, but Easirent assured it was not. I had not to worry: everything was covered.
In the end the radiator was too damaged to carry on and I had to arrange a replacement car. A 9 seater was not available, so they provided two Vauxhall Zafira's.
Long story short: later Easirent charged my creditcard for more than 500 GBP for the repair of the Vivaro! Just a simple email, no garage invoice attached...
I tried to contact Easirent by mail three times, but they did not respond.
However, Indigo stated that they contacted Easirent by phone and they said Easirent did receive my emails.
I disputed the charge on my creditcard.
During this process I, as well as Easirent, had to provide the credit card company with information about the rental conditions etc.
In the end Easirent came up with signature forgery.
It's not necessary to say I did not have to pay...
I do definitely not recommend Easirent.

There are many reviews for Easirent, I came prepared and had a wonderful experience.

The 5002 Cypress St location in Tampa, FL is about a 6 minute car ride, note that there is a shuttle to the car rental lot, if ordering from Priceline, all the information about how to get onto the shuttle is listed from within the airport using the sky train...I took an Uber due to the actual time of day, Easirent is open until 10pm eastern.

When I arrived at the vehicle pick up location, 5002 Cypress St, in Tampa FL, I was greeted by David, who was absolutely accommodating, super nice and friendly. Both he and his manager stayed late to accommodate me and others who arrived near closing, however they stayed late to assist those already on site, I arrived 2 minutes before closing (9:58pm they close at 10pm)

Note that if your flight lands close to or after 930pm eastern, suggestion is to catch an Uber/taxi/app ride or other over to this car rental location (due to airport train and time frame). If catching your own ride, follow signs to baggage claim, and pick up your uber/taxi or other outside the baggage claim, it took about 6 minutes at that time of night.

Note, that it's near impossible to catch an UBER/Taxi or other once at the rental location pickup spot (might be due to the location within the airport itself), plan on using the shuttle to get back to the airport upon dropping off your car, which runs every 25-30 minutes.

Please have a copy of your auto insurance declaration page or a copy of your auto insurance on hand when picking up the vehicle, as upon dropping the vehicle off, you can be charged for not having proof of insurance.

Getting back to David, thank you for staying past closing to accommodate others and myself, and thank you for being super helpful, kind, and knowledgable.

David, keeping your skills up will be the face of great reviews for this company, please consider being a trainer for others in the industry.

With so much appreciation and thanks - A

There was nothing easy about the rental.

DO NOT prepay a booking with Easirent. It's more prudent to set that same amount of money on fire.

Cons:
- Hour wait for the airport shuttle on pickup.
- $500 deposit for rental car (which was 4x the cost of rental).
- $75 reinstatement fee, due to being late on reservation (reinstatement of rental was initially rejected by manager. Had to threaten with lawyer before they allowed me to be extorted so I could get the car I booked).
- Car was not only severely dirty, the windshield had a 32" crack, one bald tire, 1/2 tank of fuel, and poor A/C.
- Car also had heavy bodywork damage
- Three months later, the company has charged over $100 for three Florida tolls that we're incurred while I was in Canada or in transit in an airplane. Their own paperwork contradicts their claim that I incurred the tolls. Still waiting for toll refund
- Nearly 3 weeks to receive draconian security deposit back on Credit Card.

Pros:
- If you like mazes, you're in luck! Their customer service system is one!
- Are you the fighting type? You'll enjoy fighting to not be extorted, for the rental you already booked, and for money that was yours in the first place. As well as disputing tolls that happened while you were in another country.
- Those that like renting wrecked cars, and those that are worse than anything they've ever owned, even as a teenager, Easirent has a fleet to accommodate your every need.
- Waiting for the shuttle affords you quality time to catch up on a book, check your investments, or find another rental car company.

I travel dozens of times per year for work, and have rented hundreds of cars over the years. This was, far and away, the worst experience and quality of car and service I have ever experienced.

Do yourself a favor, avoid Easirent. Even if the price is attractive. It will cost you more in the long run.

I returned a hire care yesterday, which was a brand new car, I have insurance for car hire so I declined their insurance this time which I had done on a previous hiring, The car was Black and it had rain marks as it had been raining, The attendant there said "wait here in the office and then went outside alone, he then called me and said that there was a scuff on the bumper, and pointed to a small mark which was white, I said that I had not damaged the car and that when I rubbed it with my finger it started to come off, I said that there is no scratching or mark, you can polish it and there will be nothing there, he said we dont polish the cars, and that I would have to pay 150 pounds, 75 for the "Damage"" and 75 administration charges, he smirked and said, that is what happens if you dont take our insurance, I thought he was joking but he was not and I was charge 150 pounds for non existent damage, My husband who is a retired police officer phone them and they stuck to their story and refused to reimburse the money referring us to their customer service dept, we have booked before with them, and my husband had a booking for the next two weeks which he has now cancelled. Be advised, they are a very dodgy company, read the reviews carefully and look for a hire car elsewhere This was at Stansted airport centre

I was double charged for my rental car back in February I have been trying to get my money back for months I can never get them to answer the phone I have tried numerous times with no success I finally got an answer and the manager told me he was taking care of it and it would be handled After 4 more calls directly to this person I still never got my money I then got the corporate office number and talked to Donna. She was really nice and told me she would make sure this was handled She then told me that she would call me back at the end of the week to make sure I had received my money Guess what? No call no money I have now decieded to go to a lawyer and get my money back because they do not seem to care one bit. I also think I should be able to do something about all my time and trouble, stress and worry over the last months trying to get my money back which I have needed to the Virus I would never tell anybody to rent a car from the place They are rude and there customer service is the worst.
