I recently made an account, and went and bid on some PS5's. Made several bids figuring one of them might win, if I win more i'll just re-sell them. I then get an email this morning (4/4/2021) saying my account was permanently banned for "suspicious activity". I then logged on and contacted customer service. After the robo-CSR I finally get a human being I think, named Angelica. I explain my situation and she goes and sees what's going on. Comes back a few minutes later sending a wall of text (same as in the email) through several instant messages. I then ask what was the "suspicious activities" in case my account was hacked so I can take steps to secure myself. According to policy she can't discuss the reason, how convenient. I then accused ebay is showing favoritism and admittedly was rude about it, Angelica consequently blocked me (I was rude I deserved the block). The only reason I can fathom why EBAY would snipe my bids by banning me was someone working there used their position to remove a potential bidding rival on PS5's which are a valued commodity right now. After seeing all the bad reviews on another review site, then a terrible 62% here, I am convinced of EBAY's bad reputation. DO NOT BUY FROM EBAY. Amazon is 100% better. Amazon doesn't support sellers who are scamming and/or thieving and they get to your issue if there is a problem right away.
I bought a used Apple MacBook from a seller on Ebay and paid nearly $500. The seller described the item as working fine and no problems except a few cosmetic blemishes. The seller name was TekReplay. Once this item was received and given as a Christmas gift it was turned on and used for the first time. Immediately it was noticed that the laptop is saying to service battery. Apparently the battery has never had a replacement since it was new in 2011. I contacted seller who said return it if you aren't happy with it that we don't send out replacement parts or partial refunds. The laptop had a 1 year warranty on it. They should have to replace anything that goes wrong with it. Called EBay and got the runaround. We need to give the seller time to make it right until January 3rd then you can call us back (doesn't speak a bit of English) and we will try to make it right. Seriously why do I have to go through this when the MacBook has a 1 yr warranty? In the meantime my kid has a laptop that doesn't hold a charge.
EBay closed my seller account today and said they thought my account "was a risk to the community". Before they decided to do that, they asked me to provide documents stating who I was & proof of the products purchased because I had a spike in sales.
Just to clear some things up - here's a few things you should know:
-I had no negative ratings on my account.
-I was selling some of my music software that I no longer use.
-They asked me the other day for my photo ID, my bank statements, & receipts for my purchases. Everything went smoothly & I proved to them I am legit.
My customer satisfaction ratings were just about perfect. Only one neutral rating and ZERO negative ratings. But *dozens* of positive reviews.
-A portion of my proceeds went to charity. If I was really a risk, I think I would be taking the money all to myself, no? My account was built on a good cause & my customers has nothing but good things to say about me & the service I provided to them.
Now they want me to pay them $145 in seller fees, even though I can no longer sell anything. Yet they want me to compensate them. The reason for this closing I think is out of fear because I was really successful even though I was just starting out. When a new guy comes along with a lot to offer, not everybody is okay with that.
I called them up & they said I cannot appeal my account removal. I also cannot get an english speaking person for the life of me. Literally every time I call them, it's a chinese 13 year old girl whose name I can never understand. But the company is based in San Jose, CA right? I literally never had a proper english speaking customer support representative answer my calls. I've been on the phone with them numerous times, too. I know very well what people their workplace consists of. In fact they're so asian oriented, I bet they eat dogs for breakfast & cats for dinner.
I highly recommend avoiding this company like the plague. If you have any form of success at an early stage, they will remove your selling benefits. I allege that these guys were committed to bringing me down for whatever reason.
I bought six pairs of shoes on eBay. Two days later than the promised delivery date, UPS left a notice on my door saying that they attempted delivery, but they missed me. When I called UPS to ask if I could sign the notice for them to leave my package at my door, they said that the sender put restrictions on my package. I must be present to sign with a valid government issued ID showing that I am 21 years or older in order to receive the package. I asked if they could drop the package off at a UPS store that is close to my house so I could pick it up. They said that the sender placed restrictions that only allows 3 attempts of delivery or I could pick up the package at the UPS store that is located 28 miles away from my house & I must present a government issued ID to pick it up! UPS only attempted deliveries during my work hours & they would not give me an estimated time window for delivery. These restrictions were COMPLETELY UNREASONABLE. The package contains shoes! This is not a top secret government file! The seller would not lift the restrictions so I filed a Buyers Protection claim for a refund because I could not receive the package because of all the restrictions that the seller put in place & eBay sided with the seller! The seller did not require an ID to receive my money, they took my money with ease... but they made it VERY DIFFICULT for me to receive my package. EBay's BUYER Protection is a joke! I'm closing my account. Shop eBay at your own risk, you have no protection. Buyers Beware!
I bought a passenger side mirror for a Dodge pickup it wasn't the right size now the company that sold it took it right back refunded the money and they say it would be back to me refunded back to me in 3 days. But here we are let's see here we are eight days later and I can't talk to a human eBay the automated system is even rude. So if we return and expect your cash back or whatever you paid with how do you pay don't trust their 3 days I'm still waiting I'm still waiting to try to talk to somebody so anybody from eBay reading this y'all sobs need to give me my damn money cuz it's the first of the month I'm older man I got to pay bills there's no reason why I shouldn't have it you go online and I you look where I bought bought it from there's the department the money's there it's been refunded give it to me!

Once upon a time eBay was a great place to get harder to find items for a decent price but now it's nothing but endless scammers that eBay NEVER does anything about. In my last two transactions as a buyer one was never sent and the other shipped random items with a hand written note that they couldn't find what I had bought and hoped I understood. Ebay did nothing, of course, and both sellers continue to do transactions to this very day. As a seller myself, my last two auctions were both "bought" by the same buyer that never paid. Again, eBay did nothing at all and that buyers account still active and presumably scamming other sellers.
I no longer do any business with eBay or any company even formerly affiliated with them such as PayPal since ANYONE that has ever been associated with eBay can be guaranteed to be a scammer and should not be trusted under absolutely any circumstances. My only involvement with eBay anymore is filing fraud reports and charge backs in the hopes they will eventually be blocked from VISA and shutdown in the US.
I purchased an item this not received it i opened a case and they took the sellers rout not cool for now on I'll go to Amazon.
First time using Ebay the most wonderful experience. I place 3 separate order I received every item within a few days. I was amazed! My New Company!
Unbelievable, the CEO makes anywhere between $35-77 MILLION dollars a year, yet us peasants can't get them to answer the phone to resolve a problem. I've been selling on many different sites now.
Really a good site to buy good quality old books with reasonable prices, whose transaction progresses via bank accounts.
Do improper investigation of the case. I lost $400 because of their negligence. Very disappointed. They removed my feedback
Easy to use and best prices can be found too on exceptional products
Shipping cost may be high though
Multi-vendor sites are great and convenient. In my professional opinion; eBay has the best platform overall, it is perfect. Completely simple and user friendly and is more economical giving more to the people! The issue is; not all vendors and staff members are trustworthy. When I first began to shop on eBay, the only issue I found also at other multi-vendor sites, were the vendors falsely advertising merchandise or not shipping the order. Years ago, you could call eBay and speak directly to a person and resolve the issue. One of their best features compared to others. For some ridiculous reason currently you have to try to resolve matters online via their website, then opt for them to call your number. Putting you a tad bit at risk. To add, I have several accounts on eBay, and other online stores I shop. As a form of protection from Goofy Stalkers, and identity theft. My youngest account with eBay was suspended for no logical reason. Other than my legal name was not on this less than 2 years old eBay account. I opted for eBay customer service to contact me regarding the issue and within seconds eBay called my phone. Only to tell me that they would not lift the suspension unless I provided them my LEGAL NAME AND BIRTHDAY. Highly suspicious. Being none of the other accounts that are 17 years or older, including none of the other online franchised Multi-vendor sites have given me any issue. In the email detailing why my account was suspended, eBay said "We wanted to let you know that your eBay account has been permanently suspended because of activity that we believe was putting the eBay community at risk." Events like this occur when tension, crime and war are present. To live in denial of whom lied to you, whom are most likely to lie to you; are signs of being G.E.D.Stupid. Overly sensitive to scrutiny? Why that is like being a sniveling idiot. Pierre is not an idiot or the topic of this review, I guess like most chairmen, he/they are unaware of the wrongdoings of their staff, because none have brought to him notice of such happenings. Was I displeased? Yes. Stalking is a serious crime; even Women that look like Mary Poppins have been found guilty of, and more.
If you are trying to buy a phone on ebay. Guys my best suggestion don't choose ebay tho the phone is 1000k more on other sites go it. I'll share you my experience with ebay. I bought Samsung s6 om eBay it said ebay lowest fare guaranteed. Later I purchased it said imported I have scrn shots to prove. I received the product as I was scared about the site changing the title next day. I took a video while opening the pack to my surprise the seal was broken n phone was on inside. I have placed a return with ebay n they want me to prove them that it's not new one. I was suprised to hear I have sent them the scrn shots the agent could understand what had happened. Nobody picked up. After 9 days as I was getting no response I thought chalo use the phone may be imported buy this phone cannot be connected to PC no transfer data nothing it always says unauthorised chanfes afraid please restart I did it for 100 times still the same. Expecting no help from ebay I called Samsung direct they couldn't help on the issue. I have told ebay about ppl there are such lite n no care for money. After paying so much money I'm using a phone which always restarts n not able to connect to PC or hotspot nothing. Indiana Is the seller if you call them he rudely ask you to contact ebay. If he would in hyderabad I would have kicked his $#*! for being such rude... Ebay $#*! you I'm contacting my bank for money..
I've been buying and selling on EBay for 20+ years. When I first started selling, digital cameras weren't widely popular yet, so we sold without pics. We had to describe every item in minute detail. So that gives you an idea of how long I've been using EBay.
The past few years, I mostly start selling in the fall, to make extra money for Christmas. I have to say that using the phone app makes listing products so much easier! I used to have to help others get started with selling because it was more complicated. Now, with the app, it's all self-explanatory. Anyone can do it! And the fact that you can add up to 12 pictures means you don't have to spend as much time describing things in minute detail.
Now, there will always be people who will complain.
People don't like the fees. Well, then don't use EBay. I mean, of course you're going to pay fees. It's a company that is looking to make money, but it's a reputable company that can also help you make money.
Now, as a buyer, I have to say that they've improved on their customer service over the years. If I get a product that's not as described, I contact the seller and if they don't resolve my issue, EBay steps in and gives me a refund. Honestly, I use Amazon as well. But EBay is my go-to if I'm looking for something that's older, or unique. Or things like used clothing and shoes. Last year I found a pair of expensive hiking boots I loved on the brand website, but they were $140. With some patience and diligence, I found the same exact boots listed as excellent condition for $40. I got them and they were brand new. So EBay saved me $100!
Definitely recommend EBay as both a buyer and seller!
You can expect an absolute run-around if you buy an item from a seller who has a Compromised Account. I bought a Panasonic Razor and received an email from Ebay about a week later indicating the seller's account had been compromised by a third party and that the transaction had been cancelled.
I called customer service and to my surprise they are in a foreign country who were relatively rude. In addition, the advice they give you is not in line with the great customer service you will received with Amazon or Jet.com.
After calling Ebay today, 11/14/2015, they told me to hurry up and wait while they contacted the seller to get a refund through Paypal. If I didnt get my money by Friday to recall the hurry up and wait/listen to music line at *******229 located in a foreign country; and that they would take some type of other action. In short, the refund process at Ebay is FOGGY and leaves you with a feeling something is awry.
I assure you after I get my money back, if I ever do, EBAY is history from this AMERICAN BUYER.
I will never ever think of EBAY the same after this foreign customer service run-around confusing process they have in place.
EBAY buyers beware.
The Worse Experience on online shopping in middle of Diwali Spree.!
I have purchased a LED TV on 20-Oct-2014 from ebay.in, while ordering the item, the estimated delivery time was shown as 25-Oct-2014. After looking for the delivery date only, I ordered the item. BUT after placing the order it became 01-NOV-2014 suddenly. I tried to reach the seller but his response is never supportive. The seller was Yogendra Sahoo. Even after that, I tried calling ebay customer care, and it was most irritating call of my life. I was listening the music for 30 Mins and IVR was saying Your call is Important to us"and we will connect you ASAP. After 32 minutes the call was answered. And when I placed my query to the customer care representative, he said nothing can be done. He was not ready to say anything to seller about this. Hi just said, the delivery will be done on 1-Nov-2014 only and if you dont want it, just return the item and nothing can be done for this. They are misguiding the users and putting the wrong information before order. And 0% co-operation for the queries you put. Worst. More than Worst experience.
My complaint is on "Perfectelectronic" e-mail: *******@gmail.com AND on EBay's "so called customer satification guarantee"! After trying to take care of my NOT receiving my paid for product with the company (suggested by EBay) several times & being constantly lied to about promises to ship I finally gave up & turned it over to EBay which they emailed me back with:"SORRY IT'S BEEN OVER THE 30-DAY PERIOD, WE SUGGEST THAT U TRY & TAKE CARE OF THIS WITH THE COMPANY". During the 2months trying to resolve this WITH the company & EBAY as instructed by EBAY how can they have the nerve to just DROP me & let me get totally scammed? BUYERS BEWARE, EBAY IS A SCAM, SHOP AT AMAZON, THEY TAKE CARE OF ANY PROBLEMS THEIR CUSTOMERS HAVE & MAKE IT RIGHT!
Answer: I would never buy a used car without seeing it in person and having it checked out.
Answer: Ebay is a den of thieves. Even Ebay is evasive on complaints to answers. When looking for items, be sure to be fully informed to what you are shopping and use all that knowledge to cypher the listing, even then have found those that list items to be evasive on answers. Avoid ebay if possible!
Answer: For their own purposes and to protect dishonest sellers. I was once an avid EBay shopper, but now avoid EBay. Buyer protection no longer exists. You buy at your own risk.
Answer: Ebay sells nothing. You are dealing with private sellers. Some are good, some are not. The best way to determine this is to check the feedback. I personally never buy from anyone who has a feedback lower than 90%. 96% is considered bad, by Ebay. Take that with a grain of salt. Ebay management is nuts.
Answer: If you haven't already learned the hard way that Ebay is just pure bullshit when it comes to the sellers rights. When someone wants to send it back for any reason other than it doesn't work as described, you will be footing the bill. Not only will you lose the money you paid to ship it to them, Ebay will offer to provide a return label for them at your expense. Yep, that's right. They will bill you the price of the label if you don't provide it. Either way, you are paying for it to get back to you. It's get better. You can't leave negative feedback for the buyer either. It's not an option NO MATTER
Answer: Not to me! It's my main shopping tool! I look for good deals and free shipping!
Answer: Yes. You are right. All what people told you are correct. Don't trust ebay and the seller on ebay. Amazon much better than them. But anyway the best way to buy electronics from the local stores or official stores.
Answer: This depends on the seller of the item - carefully check their feedback and trust you intuition if you have doubts try another seller you feel safer with...
Answer: Hi Tom, As for reviews, you don't get them. It's called feedback. When you buy an item, the seller will probably leave feedback after you leave feedback for them. I hope that answers your question. Nancy
Answer: Depends on the seller. I wouldn't buy anything off ebay because there a crappy company.
