After they have shipped out my order THREE times, it is still incorrect. You would think a place that sells fabric would KNOW HOW TO MEASURE FABRIC! Shorted me every time and they LIE, LIE, LIE to you telling you it is shipped when it is not. Believe me and all the other reviewers when we say it is not worth the few dollars you might save for the hassle of shopping here.

I ordered two colors of fabric, three yards of ivory and nine of nectarine. It might sounds awful, but I got swatches first, and it was really quite nice. The rolls arrived. The ivory was fine, and the other roll, unlabelled, was a totally different color. I called, and they attributed the discrepancy to my computer monitor. But I had the sample; it had nothing to do with my monitor (which is fine, by the way). They they sent an email saying that they hadn't shipped my order because they were out of the ivory. But I HAD the ivory. Then they sent another email saying that they'd sent me the wrong color because they didn't have the one I ordered. In the meantime, they actually collected the wrong roll and sent the right one. But they clearly have no idea what they're doing. There were more emails, but you have the idea. The price was fine, and I ultimately got what I ordered, but my time and trouble are worth something, and I won't waste either on fabrics.com again. I gave them one star because giving them none is not an option.

I ordered about $75 worth of fur from them and they sent it to me in the wrong color. I know they sent it to me in the wrong color because I ordered a swatch of it beforehand and it was much much darker than what i received, what I paid the $75 for was the exact same fur but pure white and not brown like i wanted, I decided I couldn't use it and emailed them about a return, they told me to specify what I wanted to return so i did, and I got no response. I sent again. No response. I asked if I could make a return, they told me to specify what I wanted to return, I said what I wanted to return, no response. Every time I actually emailed them telling them my item # and my order # they just straight up stopped replying. I sent them emails every single day, the exact same one for 10 days straight saying specifically what I wanted to return and I got no response. They were literally just ignoring me because they responded extremely quickly when I asked if I could make a return but said absolutely nothing when I specified what it was I was returning. Absolutely garbage customer service I've heard of people getting good out of it, the fur was really nice but I think the odds of you actually getting anything is about 50/50. Pray they get yours right if you ordered already.

I ordered around 20 swatches. 10 or so turned up under sized. I contacted the company and they sent out replacements.
When the replacements arrived, most were under sized again! So again I took photos and emailed the company and again they sent replacements.
And guess what happened? 3 out of the 4 were under sized.
I was tired of sending emails, so I waited until the time in my country, Australia, was late enough to chat with them online.
I chatted with a person who was polite. They ended up saying they could not send any more replacements as they had already sent two. Yet they offered me a $10 credit to my account.
This is of no use to me at all.
If the company isn't able to get swatches right the first time, let alone by the third time, and then refuse to sort the issue because their previous two attempts had failed due to their ineptness, why would anyone do business with them?
Having a credit for a company I am not going to use is useless to me.
Not having what I needed and paid for, is unacceptable.
How can people get swatches wrong? You cut a square 8" by 8". That's it. Measure an 8"x8" square on the backing of the fabric and then cut it out and send it. I've received swatches that are 5.5"x6"!
They didn't get this right and they had 3 opportunities to do so. If they are prepared to pay for the freight, they can have all of their under sized swatches back.
It's a real inconvenience to me. I'm very glad I bought swatches and not large amounts of fabric.
I don't recommend this company at all.

I have ordered from Fabric.com about 4 times and had great service. I placed my order on 7/9/2012 and as of today, it still had not shipped. So this morning I opened a chat with their so called customer service rep and the rep said she would send an email to the shipping dept to review and I would get an email confirmation when it shipped. Duh ya think? I said what happened to shipping within 48 hrs? Since I am in California, it will be another week before I get the fabric. She said oh no it will be 4 days. Uh hello... business days since they ship UPS. Then I said that they had no problem taking my money right away and why can't they ship like their policy. She said next time don't use Paypal because it takes the money right away. Like I am some degenerate for using Paypal. If you don't want me using Paypal, don't offer it as a payment option. Anyway, I called in and the gal said she would put my order on hold so that she could get the shipping upgraded to 3 day. She told me my order wasn't that big, but I had a lot of cuts. Yeah, I know there are quilters out there who get lots more "cuts" than I do. I make pillows for my business and $157.00 order is big to me. So now I checked my order again, still on hold... not shipped, customer service is closed. They do have a great selection and pricing, but if this is going to be my experience from here on out, I think I will look elsewhere, Might be better to pay more money and get the fabric on time instead!

Great experience!
March 25, 2015

I ordered 5 yards of a clearance (expensive - even clearanced) fabric that I couldn't find anywhere else anymore. They only had 5 yards in stock. I ordered before I found the reviews and was worried. Exactly 2 days and 1 minute to my order time my fabric had been shipped and I had a tracking number. Within one week I had my fabric in hand. I quickly opened it and checked it and the fabric looks good. The pattern is slightly smaller than I was anticipating, but that was just an expectation based on a previous similar fabric I had. My only complaint is that they advertise a generous cut and my cut wasn't straight and part of it is actually less than 5 yards by a little bit, but for what I need it for it won't matter. Had they had more in stock I would have ordered slightly more but it was all they had so I'm a little more understanding.

The only challenge I had with ordering was that they'd advertised 20% off your first order and I had to register 3 email addresses (using different browsers each time) before I got a code to use and even then you had to create an account on fabric.com using that email address to use the code. I found that if you bring your concerns up on their facebook page, you get a much faster response than most of the complaints I read here were stating. This was one of the concerns addressed and they were willing to help you with that issue.

I'm satisfied with their service and would use them again. I'm not sure I got a deal on the fabric, but I can't find it elsewhere and it's what I wanted. I didn't experience what other reviews are stating and they had my fabric in stock!

I ordered fabric swatches before ordering the fabric I wanted. The order confirmation email said I would receive an email when the swatches shipped. A week after placing my order, I had still not received any shipment information, so I called customer service. The rep was very helpful, but said the swatches "still hadn't shipped" but she would call the warehouse to make sure they shipped that day. Swatches arrive (two weeks after being ordered) and I order my fabric. I received the order confirmation, and then three days later I received another email saying my order was being cancelled because the fabric was out of stock. Whaaaat?! How could I receive an order confirmation only to then be told my fabric was out of stock? I called again and again the customer service rep was helpful, but said orders take 2-3 days to process, plus the website does not update in real time! So someone else must have ordered the same fabric "just a few moments before" I placed my order. I find it hard to believe that conveniently, someone else wanted the same fabric that I did.
I live in an area where it's difficult to get fabric of any type. But I will not be setting myself up for disappointment again by ordering from fabric.com.
I wish I had seen this site and the fabric.com reviews before ordering - I would have saved myself a LOT of disappointment.
And I only gave one star because I couldn't give zero.

I bought 21 yards of duck canvas fabric to make slipcovers for my couch and chair. After receiving it I immediately threw the fabric in the washer, since it is 100% and not preshrunk. When I took it out, the dye had bled in a splotchy pattern across all 21 yards of fabric. I reached out to Fabric.com and they refused to even partially refund me, since they say it states on the site that it is dry clean only. It does say that on the site, and I take full responsibility for not seeing that when I bought the fabric. My only defense is that I have never heard of dry clean only duck canvas. Now I have 21 yards of useless fabric, an ugly couch and chair, and I am honestly disappointed in my experience with Fabric.com. I will not be buying from Fabric.com again based on their customer service and the quality of the dye of this fabric.

When I tried to put this review up on Fabric.com they rejected it.

UPDATE: After posting on their Facebook page, Fabric.com offered me $50 store credit. I definitely appreciate this, but after using the $50, I will not be ordering from them again.

Many items listed are backordered weeks or months. Very slow shipping -- like 2 weeks for a small order. Frustrating!

My mom is making something for a cousin's wedding and she order 6.5 yards of patterned fabric from Fabric.com. It is a large chevron pattern so if you are making something based on the position of the fabric, you cannot use scrap pieces. Everything has to be cut out based on the position of the patter. She had ordered from Fabric.com before and never checked the measurements but did on this order and was 8 inches short. Thankfully she had order 10 inches extra for an allowance so she wouldn't have to wait on a replacement but she did contact them and let them know she was missing some expected a refund. They did not even ask her what she wanted and shipped out the remainder of her order plus a little bit, so they claim. She was just notified but based on other reviews, we wont hold our breath.

The issue is, had she needed that portion that was missing, she would have been screwed because there was no other way to make the pattern work for what she is making and she can't put a seam in it. She is not too upset because she, thankfully, had ordered more than she needed and as long as she is careful, all will be fine, but she can see how this easily could have been a big problem and they are being wasteful and sending out a strip of useless fabric to her that she can't use. In such a small size, the pattern is lost.

She doubts she will ever purchase from them again, especially after coming across their reviews on multiple platforms and I know I will never shop with them again.

For anyone who does choose to shop with them, make sure to use a credit card or debit card with good protection so that if your order is wrong or doesn't show up and fabric.com does not make it right, the card company will make it right for you and deal with fabric.com themselves. If you can, use PayPal. PayPal has amazing protection for it's users. I am not sure about Amazon Pay's protection but I know that Amazon does a great job protecting customers from problems that occur with orders on their own site. At the very least, be aware of how you can protect yourself from problems, and this is good to do with any Internet shopping you do.

I have ordered 6.5 oz denim from them on 2 different occasions in the last 5 months where they shipped 4 oz denim claiming that it was the 6.5 oz denim (apparently hoping that I wouldn't notice) The 6.5 oz denim was in stock when I ordered it and for 2 days after I placed the order. On the 5th business day it was still showing as pending so i contacted them (at this point the stock show 0) I was told it would be overnighted to me... it was but the 4oz fabric claiming to be the 6.5 oz. When I called they said oops... we will pick it up and refund your money because it is out of stock- it was out of stock the day before as well but I wasn't told this just send replacement fabric. Now they refuse to backorder the fabric to ensure that I get it when it does come in stock in a month! They won't give me the sale price... and although the fabric has been picked up they say they dont expect to receive it til friday then it will be another 7 -10 business days before they return the money to my card. This is a very large order and now I can't get my money or the fabric that I need to fill orders for my online store! I wish I could just find someplace else to buy this fabric... they are successfully killing my business... THANKS Fabric.com for all your help!
