Went to a Famous Footwear today to buy some Vans. The manager walked right up to me and said I need to take your messenger bag. I said "I can't, my wallet, iPhone, iPad is in it. She continued to be persistent while women were walking in with their huge potato sack purses. I said "Why aren't you asking these ladies to put their purses behind the counter?", She said "Because yours is a messenger bag not a purse." I said "I won't sorry, this is my purse, its 2016 and guys have bags to put all their tech stuff in". She said "Fine, but I will be watching you". So I tried on the shoes, then put them back. I was so put off by the situation. I proceeded to talk to her at the counter and told her I was being racially pointed at because I am a man, and you just lost a $60 sale (i spoke softly to her btw). I asked her for her first name as her badge was flipped over. She said "Leave now". So I wrote a 1 star review on Yelp! And called her division manager. SO TO ALL MY FB BUDDIES - IF YOU EVER NEED A PAIR OF RUNNING OR WALKING SHOES BOYCOTT FAMOUS FOOTWEAR! OR DO WHAT MY FRIEND JOSH DOES - GO TO "DSW"!

I ordered shoes in store for my son for Christmas. In store the address was reviewed and confirmed. Somehow, it was switched to an old address after I left. I called the store and the employee remembered me. Remembers the address confirmation. Couldn't understand how it reverted back to the old address on file. It was now customer services job to figure out what to do. The shoes were not returned. I spoke to a rep and was told her supervisor would go over my claim and I'd receive an email. The email stated that records showed I paid with a debit card, so they would be issuing a check. To the address the shoes were mailed to! Why?! If the address was wrong, why would they issue a check to that address?! I replied it didn't make sense to send it to a wrong address. Got an email back saying to allow up to two weeks for it to arrive. If it doesn't arrive, I can call back and they'll do a stop payment. Allow two weeks for it to process, then they can update the address. Still doesn't make sense. Reverse the charges, makes sense. Getting the correct address to mail the check to, makes sense. Making me wait over a month, then getting the right address makes sense to them?! I argued back and forth through email for a total a five emails. Each time a different rep saying it's policy?! To issue a check to a known wrong address? The issue was an incorrect address. So they issued to said wrong address and will use the correct one after we all waste time. My son has already returned to California. He didn't get his shoes, and I'm out over a hundred dollars. All I wanted was the funds reissued so I can purchase again, and send them to him. I will NEVER buy from famous footwear after this. When/if I get my money back, I will purchase his Doc Martins elsewhere.

I ordered a pair of shoes online from Famous Footwear because they were not available in the store. They came rather quickly but they had sent me a box containing 2 different sizes of shoes. I brushed this off, was fine with going into a store and returning them, (returning the shoes in-store was the only positive customer experience I had) and re-ordered the shoes again - which never came. FedEx lost the second pair of shoes. It said delivered, but I was home most of that day, checked all around my house, and checked with neighbors. They are nowhere. I called FedEx which investigated and said to give them 24-48 hours. I called FedEx again and confirmed that enough time has gone by that the shipper should file a claim and confirmed that their trace team could not track down the package. I called Famous Footwear after that and asked for a refund and told them I had gotten confirmation from FedEx the package was missing. They refused because they have to wait a full week to do that despite the confirmation from FedEx. Any other online retailer would have issued a refund with it being 4 days past when it said it was delivered and the confirmation from FedEx themselves. This will be the last online purchase I make from Famous Footwear the experience and care for the customer has been horrid. - especially since there are so many other retailers who sell the exact shoe. I ordered the same shoes for the 3rd time now, but from Kohls this time for only $1 more because Kohl's won't make me wait a week to fix their problem. I have had good experiences in the Famous Footwear store, but don't get there often and find it easier to order online. So if there is a shoe available in the store I will probably consider it, but I will never trust ordering online from them again. I am regretting not looking around for other retailers first. I'm sure if I had ordered these from anywhere else I would either be wearing them right now or would have had the refund I need.

I made an online purchase for TWO DIFFERENT SHOES once I receive those shoes I got the same pair of shoes I made a call to customer service on March 3 to tell them that I received two pairs of the same shoes and then I was supposed to send the shoes back Which I did they receive the shoes on March 17 so I called them on March 25 to ask them what was going on with my refund the lady said that it will take additional 10 Business days for me to get my refund OK 12 Business days pass and I had to make another phone call asking where my refund was at and the lady said that when I called on March 25 the lady should've told me that I could receive my refund or my pair shoes I told her that I had told the lady or March 25 that I want my refund I didn't want the shoes so now the lady told me that she just refund me my money but it's gonna take another additional 10 days this is funny how now I have to wait more days just to get my money back because you have one job and apparently listening is not one of them so I will not be shopping With you guys ever again thanks

I have never experienced racial profiling in my entire life until today. I am a very distinguished member of society, a public servant, a Woman of God and I carry myself accordingly. Today while shopping in this store I was followed by the Assistant Manager Sean and his one Associate. The Assistant Manager followed me from aisle to aisle asking if I needed help more than a couple times within a 10-15 min time span, disregarding my reply of "No Thank you". When I stopped in an aisle to try on a shoe, I would find him at the corner of that said aisle starring at me and then walking away once detected stalking. Upon eye contact he began circling around me again passing my aisle on both ends. When I confronted him, asking him if there was a problem I was told that this is the way that Famous Footwear provides Costumer Service. I have been to several of these stores and never experienced anything like this before.

I told him that I felt harassed and uncomfortable with him following me and standing in the aisles starring at me. He then told me that if I had a problem with it that I could leave. Afterwards, he walked away and sent his female associate to stand in the aisle and watch me. She pretended to be straightening out the boxes, making sure they were all perfectly symmetrical. I then asked the woman if he had sent her and she replied saying that she was just doing her job. She then walked to the end of the aisle and looked at him with shrugged shoulders and big eyes, a look of confusion, as if she had know idea what he wanted her to do.

I was the only black woman in the store and the only one being followed, regardless of the fact that there were almost 10 other costumers there. When I asked for the corporate number to report the harassment I was given the wrong number. The Assistant Manager was very brute with me and threatened to kick me out of the store if I had a problem with being followed. I was profiled from the moment I walked into the store as a black woman with a bag who might steal something and treated as such. This grand display of racism is unacceptable. I can't feel free to walk around this store and shop without being followed and watched? Are no colored people allowed in Famous Footwear of Anchorage? It saddens my heart to know that this mans heart is filled with hate and prejudice, but it is also a wake up call and a reminder that we must stand up against the double standard of morals and for the repeal of those depriving human beings of their privileges and rights. I felt extremely violated today as human being, as a member of this community, and as a woman.
