(For a little bit of context here, it's helpful to know that most sites that offer online ticketing and seat selection for concerts and other shows have a map that displays not only the seats, but also the stage or screen. Fandango's map only shows the seats.)
I booked a pair of theater seats that were horizontally dead center according to their map. Unfortunately, their map didn't account for the fact that the horizontal center of the seating area did not align with the horizontal center of the screen. As a result, our "dead center" seats provided a view equivalent to sitting on the left aisle. Meanwhile, walk-in customers who did not pay a service charge to Fandango wound up with much better seats than we had. I got off the phone with Fandango a few minutes ago, having called because I felt they had not earned their $3 service charge. I explained the situation to the customer service rep, and the rest of the conversation went something like this:
Rep: So are you asking for a refund on the tickets or just the service fee?
Me: Just the service fee.
Rep: I'm sorry, we can't refund the service fee.
Me: Then how about a $3 refund on the tickets?
Rep: I'm sorry, we can't refund that either.
Me: The why did you ask me if I want a refund on the tickets or the service fee?
Rep: I don't know. Sorry.
Me: May I speak to your supervisor?
Rep: No
Me: Why not?
Rep: Why do you want to speak to my supervisor?
Me: Because I'm about to cost your company thousands of dollars on social media. I thought maybe your supervisor would be smart enough to just issue a $3 refund, especially since your company did not really provide a service to me.
Rep: I'll get him.
> Supervisor got on the line and I expressed the same concerns to him. I also added:
Me: You understand that I'm just going to ask my credit card company to block the $3 service charge, right? Since you're not getting my money either way, the best move for you is to just issue the refund. At least that way, you don't get shredded on social media.
Supv: Sorry, I can't help you.
Me: Has Fandango ever issued a refund for anything?
Supv: You can get a ticket refund before the show. We're not set up for anything else. Have a nice evening.
They advertise you'll get a 20.00 reward and then do not honor their own promotion. Then cannot tell you why. They are garbage and so is their customer service :)
Fandango is a crook! I bought tickets for my whole family. Not a small cost! I selected the theater and movie I wanted, when I checked out without any notification it switched theaters on me. Knowing that I had selected the theater I had no reason to suspect it would have changed. The day of the movie arrived, we showed up at the intended theater, and when we scanned the tickets we were told it was the incorrect theater. After talking to customer service at the theater, then customer service at the Purchased theater we were told we had to contact Fandango directly, which we did. All of this took some time and by the time we got to a customer service person at Fandango it was past the movie start time so they wouldn't refund the money. Our entire family had to leave the theater and lose all of the money. Even after emailing multiple times, explain the situation they would not even give me any credit. This is absolutely ridiculous. I would've been willing to spend the money with Fandango simply by having some credit given, but they couldn't even do that. I am extremely disappointed and will never use Fandango again!
I was trying to buy tickets to Cinemark Dayton to see Nepoleon on 11/24/23 at 10:30. Fandango popped up and allowed me to purchase 3 tickets for 42 dollars and some change. I then needed to change my time to the 6:45 show. Fandango was unable to find the same venue. I was able to get my money placed onto a Fandango account that I will probably never be able to use, however, when I just asked to have my money refunded they Saud that they were unable to do that. Do not use Fandango. They are not a legitimate site. I am out almost 43 dollars that is in a Fandango account that is now basically useless to me.
"On the evening of October 31 my wife, grandson and I went to attend the 7:30 pm showing of "Killers of the Flower Moon" at the AMC La Jolla 12 theatre. Attempting to locate our seats we found them to be inaccessible for me to safely navigate with my walker. Returning to the ticket counter we were told they would gladly refund our tickets even though the showing had begun. Attempting to issue the refund he found that, since the tickets were purchased through Fandango, I would have to call you. Upon arriving home I contacted Fandango and was very nicely told that she was not authorized to make the refund, but would forward my request to be evaluated. I was truly shocked when I received Fandango's refusal to refund the tickets. To think that a company as large and supposedly as reputable as Fandango could not make an exception to accommodate a handicapped individual is appalling. We will never use Fandango again and I recommend everyone to buy their tickets directly from the theatre. Fandango is a genuine rip off!
I bought tickets through Fandango to see a movie. I bought the tickets on Thursday. When I showed up at the theater on Sunday, I discovered that the theater's schedule had changed, and they were no longer showing the movie I had tickets to see.
Fandango did not inform me of the change in any way. They also refused to issue a refund because "the movie has already started and you checked in with the ticket taker." The fact that the movie they sold me tickets to WAS NOT PLAYING did not matter to them.
Basically, they stole $52 from me - $26 for the tickets, and $26 for the snacks we bought before going to the ticket taker. I also wasted 40 minutes of my life getting to the theater, trying to figure out the problem at the theater, and then driving home.
I am very angry about this. I will never use Fandango again, and will discourage others from using them as well. If I could give negative stars, I would.
Hi,
I'd like to warn everyone NOT to use Fandango. I bought three tickets to a show, and a couple of weeks later AMC cancelled the show. I got a refund for the movie tickets, but the $7 convenience fee Fandango WILL NOT refund or give me a credit for. I have literally LOST MONEY using Fandango. Again, AMC cancelled the show, so there was nothing on my end I could do.
I know people complain if they can't make the show they bought tickets for and lose the convenience fee, but please know even if it is NOT YOUR FAULT you will not get the convenience fee back.
Fandango is a terrible company. They changed the date of my preordered movie tickets without telling me and then wouldn't allow me to exchange or get refunded for my tickets when I stated one ticket holder wouldn't be able to go on the reselected date. I advise everyone who can to stay away from using them!
On 9/18/23 I wanted to use my 5.00 reward that would be expiring today. Because the website is not in the least friendly and horrible to navigate I had to call Fandango. It took to going and I would not be able to make my movie time because of the distance between to movie theater and my home. I asked for them to extend mu credit for an extra day and they refused. Absolutely absurd! If I can not count on Fandango for customer service they why use them? Suzan O Rothschild Wisconsin Marcus Theather
They have a rule that they will not refund your money under ANY circumstance if it's past the movie time. They have the ability to pull up your purchase based on your credit card, email, phone number, even the seats. I'm sure they can pull up the fact that you didn't use the tickets. I supplied proof I had to purchase them again at the theater. They will not give you a refund no matter what. I will not use them again, I will just purchase at the theater.
Fee's are terrible. Better offers from AAA, Costco and credit unions. No fees. No refunds if received as a gift card.
On August 25,2023 I attempted to purchase 2 tickets to the Barbie movie. While checking out I received a time out error. Tried a second time and received the same time out error at checkout. At this point I decided to simply buy the tickets in person at the movie theater. It was not until after the movie that I checked my email to see confirmation that the previous two transactions had actually gone through. I called and opened a customer service ticket explaining the situation but it was rejected due to their refund policy which is to not offer one after the movie has started. I understand the policy but it's as if it was an automated response and no one took into consideration my circumstances. As such, I deleted the app and will no longer purchase using Fandango and am writing this review and filing a claim with the BBB.
Purchased tickets for my wife and I. On the way to the movie we got rear ended, stuck on the side of the highway, I called Fandango in between talking to the police & ems, was on hold for 45 minutes, meanwhile they picked up and said it was past the movie time and nothing they could do… of course it was past the time, I was on hold for 45 minutes! I told the support would you like the accident number, to speak with the police and ems, it's $40 bucks, I'm not going to break the bank, but it's the principle… I had used fandango for 5+ years and the one time there's an issue they gave me the middle finger… so I won't use them anymore. They don't care. How are they in business?
No refunds is a problem. It's basically theft when you can't make the show on time and they punish you because you don't want to drive and text so you miss the cut off time. This policy is bs.
They charged me never sent any tickets and refused to refund me the money, because it was after the showing, this is literally theft. Me and my girl literally had to buy new tickets from AMC theatre. Alister Brent horrible customer service. And they hung up on me twice.,
Really disgraceful company this is. I bought tickets to a movie, then I get there and other people are in my seats. They have the same seats as me. It was sold twice. Then they wouldn't give me a refund. Don't EVER buy anything from fandango, from what I can tell it's a scam
We had a 3 card gift pack of $15 Fandango cards that clearly did not have an expiration date noted. When I went to use them a few weeks ago, they indicated "no valid". I submitted an inquiry to Fandango customer service on 7/20 and I have gotten the run around and no replacement. They indicate they have escalated the issue but not will not respond. Beware the gift cards!
Took some time to find a number to speak to a person -- not in my timezone - suggested the cancelation was because of protests in my country... nope - not even close. THEN blamed it on "equipment issues"...
If the theater simply cut the show, say that - don't make up $#*!. Regardless, this impacted plans for four families...
WARNING!I purchased tickets thru them and was charged 3 times! Didn't notice until I had checked bank statement & they would NOT refund! Do
Not use or trust their site! Terrible! Paid $93 for two tickets! I was ROBBED!
A really scammy company. AVOID them. These MFers made me to pay $80 for 2 IMAX tickets Couldn't find the tickets when we arrived at the theater. Found only a credit balance on my account. I thought, oh well, didn't go through, I'll use that another time and then, I paid the theater for the tickets. Later, the credit balance disappeared. I'll never use them again. From now on, I'll make a point of buying my tickets in person.
Answer: Shauna, try Ken's suggestion. After years as a loyal customer & "Fan" of Fandango, I had an issue that should have been easily resolved. When I finally spoke to a live CSR, the response & subsequent email were robotic & useless. I now buy gift cards from the theatres & save my $$ and time. Good luck to you, though!
Answer: You do Julie S., but if you purchase it within 2 hours of the movie you are out of luck and that's what I happened to do. I accidentally chose that same day rather than the next day (Saturday) and since I was within a 2 hour time frame they said too bad. Never will use them again that's for sure. It was an honest mistake and I explained that but the woman on the phone was very nasty.
Answer: I would try emailing them, unfortunately there is no one to call as far as I know. If that doesn't work why don't you try calling a theater near you that takes fandango, ask for a manager. Fandangos customer service is not good so I wish you luck. Thank you for your service, hope this helps Rose
Answer: I didn't wake up with a dead horse in my bed but all other evidence in dealing with Fandango indicate that they are mob-owned. Perhaps the mob has more morals. Maybe not mob-owned. What would be worse than the mob because that's likely who owns them. Difficult question to answer. Best not to do business with them anyway.
