“Terrible customer service”

We recently visited Applebee's in order to take advantage of the Top Gun movie ticket promotion. For every $25 spent, you would receive a movie ticket. We spent $58, therefore earning 2 tickets. I submitted necessary info and they claimed my receipt was missing info. I submitted a photo and they sent my info to another department for further verification. I kept emailing to find out status of my tickets. Never a response from their customer service until my email today, again asking. I'm now being told that the promotion is over and they don't have to honor my fulfillment. This is poor customer service any way you look at it.

Sold us tickets to Beetlejuice - Spanish version, but it wasn't labeled that. Then refused to refund them b/c it had already started. (Theater was not full.) No way for us to know it was in Spanish until it started. We support the bilingual offering, but don't speak Spanish!

Purchased tickets on line. Didn't have a printer so I relied on the email containing my ticket as my confirmation page said they were sending. That is the only way movie theater accepts online tickets. Didn't have time to check (wouldn't have mattered anyway). Got to the theater there was no email. Email was NOT sent to me until 2:30am the next day. Movie started at 7:00pm night before. It was quite embarrassing... missed beginning of movie. I was able to prove I purchased it on my credit card and they did accept that finally. But $3.00 convenience charge for a total inconvenience. Called customer service support twice only to be kept on hold for 30 mins each attempt. Really? Lesson learned!

I have never felt more screwed after making a purchase, they have insane fees per ticket... why not just go to the theatre and buy the ticket there
I made a purchase for 7 people and paid an unfair fee on EVERY TICKET
Ticketmaster is another evil site... don't even get me started

I usually never have an issue with Fandango. I always purchase tickets through them. I bought 4 tickets for DBOX seats which came out to 75.00 to watch IT. I went to the theater an hour before Showtime and the theater was closed down due to Hurricane Irma hitting Florida. I went online to find out if I can get an exchange and was told I can only cancel 2 hours before the movie in order to get an exchange or refund. I told them I didn't want my money back all I wanted was to be able to watch the movie when the theater reopens. They didn't want to help me. I can understand if I just didn't go or I missed the movie but to miss it for something I can't even control? I'm so upset that they just took my money. I will never buy from them again.

I just purchased 4 tickets by mistake on the fandango app. The app glitches I guess and ordered the tickets and charged my car. I ordered them at 8:25pm and the movie started at 9. I called them right away and was put on hold for 23 minutes. They finally answered and told me they would not refund it. They fought with me until the end. I even talked to a manager and she wouldn't do anything for me. I spent over $1000 on movies and they could care less. Clearly they don't want ours or yours money so stay away.

We bought Fandango Tickets, took them to the Theater, the Theater did not recognize or honor the Fandango Tickets and we had to buy the movie tickets again at the Theater. Subsequently Fandango denied our request for a refund. Total ripoff and bad business practices by Fandango! Stay away!

Sure, you can earn rewards, but they give you like a week or 2 to use them or lose them. NO COMPANY that offers you rewards for being loyal takes them away so quickly. What a JOKE! I have a large family and would like to build up a balance that actually makes a difference in the pocket book besides $6. "This summer, rack up 150 VIP+ Points for every ticket you buy." RACK UP? You get 14 days to rack up on a promotion that is for the whole summer?

DJF, your review was not helpful what so ever, as a consumer I would like to know if the company in which I buy tickets from has a refund policy that I agree with. If something comes up, and I can't make the movie, I feel it is justifiable that I receive a refund for a movie that hasn't showed yet. Do not attempt to email customer service, they will not reply. I sat in two separate hour long ques just to find out I couldn't get a refund. The first representative disconnected before I could send my response...

I had a gift card given to me at christmas and after buying tickets had a problem with location so i went ahead and bought more tickets and thought when i get home i will take care of this LOL. First thing service person says after i told him what happened is so you waited to call like i was going to go home and call them as soon as i found out there was a problem. Its much easier just to buy when you get to the movie and with my sister getting a corporate discount much cheaper, so I am going to tell anyone that might give me a gift card to NEVER NEVER buy from fandango, there customer service is terrible and you will never see your money again. Hope i have been clear they wont refund your cash just dont care they got it no reason to give it back.

Oh they want a minimum of 100 characters no problem... it is a ridiculous scam to make it seem like you are simply pre purchasing tickets... It is not highlighted that they are charging you through the...

I attempted to purchase tickets to a movie that I thought was 10 minutes from my house, but I guess that theater doesn't work with Fandago, so Fandango generously switched my tickets to a movie theater almost an hour away that does work with them. To make matters worse Fandango will not refund my money, because the brain surgeon at customer service told me to do an exchange, and Fandango doesn't give refunds for exchanges! So I have to drive almost an hour to see this movie! The hold time for customer service was 20 minutes. Do not use these people!

I purchased tickets recently for the age of Ultron showing of avengers 2. I tried a theater that only had reserved seating, so I would be guaranteed a seat. Well fandango oversold the show and we eneded up only being to see it in 2d. AMC compensated us so I have nothing bad to say about them but all Fandango did was make excuses. Man up and take responsibility for your mistakes. I will use fandango for movie times but I will purchase my tickets directly tru amc next time.

Received a fandango gift card for Christmas for a movie and dinner. Firstly they don't have any option to check for discounts that I do qualify for if I were to purchase at the door, And secondly the gift card is a set amount of 25 dollars. On top of the price of the tickets they add a "convenience fee" of 1.50 per ticket. Which was just enough to push over the 25 dollar limit. I had to use a card to pay $1.96 I think it was. 25 bucks should have been more than enough to buy 2 tickets to a movie.
Fandango is a ripoff. And using their website was not convenient at all considering i had to re-enter all of my information 2 times before it went through. It would have been more of a convenience to throw this damn gift card away, gone to Cinemagic and bought it outright at the counter.
Will not use again.

If youre trying to get a refund from these guys guess what? That convience fee? Isnt really for you its for their convience, Not only am I not getting the full price back, but I also have to wait 3-5 business days to get it back! When it takes less than a second for them to take the money out of your card. I was planning on switching my 3D tickets for standard after I was refunded, but nope the movie will probably be sold out by the time I get my money back. Ill never use Fandango again, why is it that every other company can give you your money back that same day but not you guys? Your thieves thats why.

Can only purchase tickets from the site, a 1.35 PER TICKET "convenience fee", cant use the card for food or drinks at the theater. DO NOT give this as a gift, just give cash or find out what theater they prefer and buy one for the theater. I am glad if was a gift because I will never use my money at this place when you can get them directly from the theater.

BUY directly from the theater!

Horrible, horrible customer service. My fiance had a medical emergency and we weren't able to make the 3D movie we got tickets to ($50 for 2 3D movie tickets). I contacted Fandango the next day to explain what happened and see if we could just get another set of tickets to the same movie. After almost A MONTH, they finally got back to me and said that corporate offices had reviewed the case and denied the request.

Purchased three tickets with gift card and debit card and boyfriend got sick and couldn't go. Called Fandango and was told there was nothing they could do. BS. There is something I can do. Not purchase any more tickets from them!

Requested a refund of $15.70. Purchased a ticket on 6/30 and when I got to theater it was still pending on the app and I hadn't received a confirmation so I could not use it. I had to buy another ticket at the theatre as a result to see the movie. NOW Fandango will not refund the ticket I purchased with them! I used them for many years but now I will never use them again. You cannot request a refund BEFORE the movie started because they keep on hold for almost a hour waiting. Ridiculous.

When buying tickets there was a website error and it said it didn't charge me and i hadn't purchased tickets. Well, after the fourth try it worked, with a different card. Well, they charged me for all four when it was their websites problem. Lost $ and they won't refund.

I purchased tickets for my nephew & even though it was past present day tome for the movie, fandango defaulted & selected the current day. I noticed about a half second too late & called them immediately. They still wouldn't switch my tickets because it was less than the 2hr window. Such a waste. DO NOT USE!

Went to see Moana yesterday with the family. I selected the seating which was right behind the handicap row. When I got to the theater I found that the actual seat given to me was in the first section. Too close to the screen. The diagram shown to me on the website did not match that of the theater. The theater could not help me due to the show being sold out. Fandango has almost non existent customer support. I found no way to contact customer support from their website and only managed to find a chat session after doing several google searches. The operator took my info, asked a few questions and told me she was going to escalate my claim. A few hours later Fandango responded back with an outright denial without giving any reason. Will not use their service again. I wouldn't be surprised if a class action lawsuit is in order.

Be warned that if you ever cancel the ticket and they don't see that you did, they will not refund you the money when you talk to customer service about it later. Make sure you get an email with the confirmation that it got canceled. This is horrible customer service in this day and age. Are they so big that they can't refund $12.50 to a good customer? That seems to be the case.

What an inconvience! Fandango charges you a "CONVIENCE FEE." This fee is not disclose. I had purchased several of these gift cards thinking that these would be great gifts. I had no idea all of the headache, fees, POOR customer service that accompanied these cards. God forbid if you leave off a number in your confirmation & try to pick up your tickets. Fandango does not want to refund; well try to even to do an exchange...
I have "never" witnessed anything like this in my life.
I was thinking when I purchased this gift card for my son's birthday; it would be a great gift. I have discovered children like various gift cards because it gives them freedom like adults. So much for this idea.
I do not have any kind words for Fandango right now.
My advice pay & purchase gift cards at the box office. Carmike had a better deal during the holiday anyway. Minus the "inconvenience fees:-)

This lovely site neglects to mention that when one purchases tickets using a gift card from a movie theatre that one then cannot make changes to the order online. One has to call customer service. Good luck with that! I was on hold a total of an hour and a half. After hanging up a few times my call was finally answered after 48 minutes only to speak with a representative that could not help me. I was told that I had to contact the movie theatre directly. I had already done that twice and was told that I had to contact Fandango. I even requested to speak with a supervisor at Fandango and was again on hold and eventually forwarded to a voicemail box. Pathetic! So after many hours and simply wanting to make a change to the movie time (not get a refund) I have been unsuccessful. I will never use this website again and will advise others not to.

After earning the $5 reward, it expires too soon. I haven't gotten to use mine the last two times. So just now I tried to redeem my current reward WHICH I EARNED and Fandango won't let me use it on the movie I want to see. They restrict the movies you can choose from if you use the reward. Terrible company and service!

I searched for tickets to a movie at my local theatre (San Mateo, CA Century 12). I clicked your website and it took me to a list of movies at my theatre. I saw the movie I wanted and clicked on it. I saw times and clicked on the time I wanted. What I didn't now was that when I clicked the movie it sent me a list of theatres. For some reason the top of the list was a theatre in Seattle, WA, I live near San Mateo, CA. I tried to use the tickets at my local theatre and they wouldn't work. I didn't realize until I was in line that your website sent me to a theatre in Seattle, not even the same theatre chain.

Don't use it, try a different site.
