I bought the bàkeware set item number NIFZC. Twenty piece set in Dec. I didn't use it till this month as I was in the process of moving.it has already started to rust and peel. Not happy with it. All.
I give Fingerhut five stars for making items available to people who are trying to get their credit back on track. Although their interest rates are very high, that is to be expected for the risk they are taking. However, I deduct two stars, because Fingerhut also chooses to milk it's customers by selling their merchandise at 20 to 50% higher than it's competitors. I also deduct another two stars, because Fingerhut, who claims to give it's customers an opportunity to build their credit, just recently went through a name change and without any regard or afterthought for their customers, that name change "most probably" lowered their customers scores, as it did mine--when Fingerhut/Fetti is now showing as a new account and the old Webbank/Fingerhut has been relegated to the credit bureaus dustbin of old accounts. Basically, if you have had the Webbank/Fingerhut account for years then it is affecting the credit age of your open accounts.
'
My advice is if you want to use Fingerhut to build credit, then just keep your purchases low to build that credit--I would also suggest that you compare prices online and if you do then chances are that you can find that very same item a lot cheaper elsewhere and if you don't need that item right away then just save up for it--you will save a lot of money that way.
The main problem I have with fingerhut, I have many but just to start with, is the fact that they over price items. Majorly over price items. For example, I am a HUGE makeup Fanatic and they had a E. LF. Palette, one of the 100 pan palettes, and I had some credit on my new card so thought I'd get it, I got it, took a while to arrive at my house but did come when expected.
The problem I have is that the palette was $40.00 dollars on their website, when I went to E. LF. Website a couple months later, I didn't think about looking it up at the time lol go figure, and the price for the exact same palette was $10.00 dollars!
I was furious! How dare they?
I, at first, thought it was wonderful they gave me my first credit card! Where I had never had credit before it was hard to get credit from any company and how was I going to build credit that way? Right? If I knew that the rate I was paying was so outrageous I wouldn't have fooled with it. But like many young girls starting out I was just excited, back then, at receiving my very first credit limit and wasn't thinking about anything else. This website over charges the whole way around.
Items are overpriced, credit rate is RIDICULOUS, and quiet frankly they don't even carry much of anything worth having. I do not recommend this site to anyone!
If I could enter a zero rating I would. This company does everything it can to rip off each and every customer. They opened a Fetti account without my permission, and put charges I made on the advantage card to the Fetti account. I called them and ask them to transfer the last Chargers I made ist Christmas to my advantage card, which is the one I signed up for.
I spent $350 at Christmas last year, they told me it's going to be on the advantage card, and they put it on a new Fetti account. They then charge an insurmountable amount of late fees for account I did not authorize or open.
Right now I'm trying to pay off $872 on the Fetti account, and they are refusing to accept my payment. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with three different people trying to pay off this account, and they kept making excuses for why they couldn't except my payment. They charge interest by the day, so they do everything they can to avoid a customer paying off the account. Do not get this credit card, the interest is unbelievable, and they are the most unethical business I've ever dealt with in my 60 years.
Do not do business with this company. They are a complete fraud.
I read all the negative reviews on many sites for this company! Well I feel like it's only right and fair to them that I come forth in their behalf as well! NOW MAYBR IM JUST LUCKY, but I have used finger hut many times (mainly for watches & shoes) and every time I have had nothing but a great experience! Not only have the things I have ordered arrived just like I ordered but the get here EARLIER then the specified delivery date. I have also contacted customer service on 3 occasions for issues I have had and every time they have been professional, helpful, and efficient (though they may be hard to understand) in getting the issue resolved. They also gave me credit and a chance when no one else would and have helped bring my credit score up to a 600! That may not seem like much but if you only knew where it was to start. I am not saying they are perfect no company is but when there has been a problem they have gotten it fixed and if you ask for anymore then that well your the problem. That folks is a honest review of this company from MY EXPERIENCE. I say give them a shot spend $50 bucks and judge for yourself I say if it works they way it did for me the. It was well worth the $50. Hey and if it doesn't then oh well I have had worse happen. Hope this was helpful have a good one guys.
Fingerhut sends out catalogs with "fill in" and order pages. ANYONE can and does order only to take the goods that are left at your door. Fingerhut DOES NOT require a signature, so you have no proof the items were not received and since you did not order it you're totally in the dark! Then Fingerhut sues you for the items you did not order and did not receive. FINGERHUT IS A SCAM COMPANY THAT ENABLES IDENTITY THEFT! THEY NEED TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS! They scammed me out of over $900.00 and blemished my credit - FOR ITEMS I DID NOT ORDER NOR RECEIVE!

So it seems that Fingerhut has some REALLY bad customer service. Here is the scenario. On December 6 I ordered 2 watches for a couple of Kids Christmas Presents. They only shipped ONE of them. The same day that it got here December 15th I called and was told that they would be shipped and arrive by the 24th. Short notice but hey it was BEFORE Christmas. It NEVER SHOWED UP but they did send me a return authorization. REALLY? OOOO not good folks. So fast forward to NOW. I have been on the phone with them for TWO HOURS and on hold for AN HOUR AND A HALF of that. Bull Crap. If thats not enough they told me that the guy that said it was going to be shipped on the 15th LIED because it was out of stock. Fingerhut WTH is your problem. Now they are saying that the one watch needs to be returned? Needless to say i am PISSED! Fingerhut YOUR FIRED after YEARS of great service. You dont LIE to me.
I has several cameras that I ordered from this company They were delivered in a empty package they wanted me to give a police report which I did the the package Was delivered by UPS And when it arrived it was completely empty I immediately called Fingerhut, I did the police report, called UPS and a month later I received out 2 of the ring stick up camers out of 3. I called and called always getting the run around. Told me I would it 2 months ago and STILL have not got my 3rd camera
The amount of deceiving this trash does to those attempting to raise their credit is astonishing.
This garbage is a rabbit hole of diminishing your credit.
It starts out lovely, it dangles trinkets to you for you to fall in their trap of trusting they're in your best interests with credit. But the longer you're with them, the more you realize it's scamming, the less valuable you become. Should be the other way around, right?
You'd think they'd be more caring for their long time credit account holders (whom make payments on time, at that) but NOPE!
After maybe a year or 2+ (mostly after a year), it start getting worse with them. The guy that partners with fingerhut is definitely a sleazeball. Since his contract ended with them(Fingerhut/WEBBANK), all of us ended up getting our accounts closed automatically which in return means our credit would drop, due to "The President" ending his contract with them.
Not to mention they give temporary credit line increases and FORCE you to use their temporary increase because if you don't, then your credit limit will go back to its original amount and that'll reflect on your account, then the credit bureaus will take that as you're not managing your account well and will DROP your credit massive points. I hate Fingerhut and the president of it. This guy is obviously a big time crafty schemer and is trickbagging people.
I purchased an ankle bracelet from them. Purchased it on April 4th, received it on April 16th and returned it on May 1st because it broke and fell off my ankle. Luckily it fell on the floor in my house and I was able to find it. Well, I got an email from them today telling me that it was damaged and not able to be returned or refunded. Of course it was damaged, why do you think I returned it. I wore it approximately 4 times before it broke. I did not break it, it was of poor quality otherwise it would have lasted a little longer than what it did. I am so pissed. I paid $132.00 for it and they are telling me that they won't refund my money or replace it, that I can have it returned to me and have it repaired myself or they keep it and I still owe them for it. THIS IS BULL CRAP! I will certainly be closing my account and they won't ever have to worry about me purchasing anything from them again. They don't stand behind their products. If I wasn't afraid of messing up my credit behind this I would refuse to pay for something I cannot use. NEVER AGAIN!
Fingerhut is extremely overpriced but it has helped me raise my credit score somewhat and has helped me get credit cards. For this reason, I have continued to purchase from them. But the overwhelming number of phone calls that I receive has gotten rediculous. They call me the same as frequently as if I wasn't making my payments. (I have never been behind in a payment to fingerhut. In fact, I pay early and always pay off my balance ahead of schedule). I only answered once and the recording told me that I had been given a credit raise. Ok, that one was fine. But why call me every dadgum day!? I answered again today only because I was still upset about the call that I declined on my phone earlier this morning at 8am! The woman on the other end of the line started out be verifying who she was speaking with and then read me the line about recorded messages bla bla bla. She never got straight to the point so I told her not to call again. On top of that, you could hardly understand what she was saying because her English was so badly broken. Because of the outrageously rediculous amount of phone calls that I have been receiving from fingerhut, I have paid off my balance and as soon as the payment in full hits my account, my account will be closed. PERMANENTLY!
Do not use fingerhut Somebody got into my account and bought alot stuff They will not help me they want me to pay for it Do not waste your times with this company
The problem I have had as far as paying my account on line with fingerhut is them taking more money out of my bank account which I didn't authorize them to get I check the box that showed the minimum payment but instead they took the whole balance out of my checking account every penneyI had in my cheking account I only caught it when I tried to use my card the next day when I tried to pick up my medicine at the pharmacy and my card was declined I knew I had at least I thought I had I called the bank and they told Fingerhut had taken the out of my account using my debit card that they had on file I cancel that card on that account.
I purchased a fireplace, McLeland Design Cherry Mantel Electric Frieplace, 7 months ago for $600.00. Before i purchased it I talked with a Fingerhut rep. To see if there were complaints on the unit. I was told there were none and no unit had been returned and it was one of their most popular fireplaces. Because of that I did not take out the warranty because it was over $100.
I had it on last evening to take the chill out of the room. It had only been on 15 to 20 minutes and there was a loud pop and the unit stopped working. Since purchase this unit has not been used more than 30 times in 7 months. I contacted fingerhut and was told nothing could be done, there was no warranty availabe and it was too old to send back. I have been told it will do no good to pursue this as Fingerhut is difficult to deal with. This is sad when a 67 year old woman who lives on SS can't get a company to stand behind their product and don't give a hoot about their coustomers. Think twice before buying from Fingerhut!
Since Fingerhut switched over it is now nothing but a scam. They charge you $30 late fees and customer service is no good
A few years ago, I received a catalog from Fingerhut and a letter stating that I was "preapproved" for a couple thousand dollars in credit. I should know by now that "preapproved" = "we're about to rip you off," but I applied anyway because I really needed a new laptop. Instead of enough credit to buy one, I received a letter in response saying that I had qualified for only $100 in purchases. I laughed and shredded the letter, thinking that was the end of it.
Fast-forward more than four years: I now have a negative mark on my credit report from Fingerhut that states I "purchased" $100 worth of merchandise on credit AND NEVER PAID FOR IT. I never purchased one cent's worth of anything from these scam artists. I am working with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the FDIC to get this resolved, but in the meantime, it has lowered my credit score and resulted in many wasted hours writing letters and making phone calls.
If I were you, I would treat anything from Fingerhut as radioactive. Throw out anything you receive from them, and resist the temptation to apply for their "credit" program. It's NOT what they say it is.
I clozed my account literally 3 minutes ago and here's why. They give me this ridiculous credit line of $250 which if you have ever looked at Fingerhuts prices that does not allow you to buy much. Especially if your into electronics like I am. I sent them a email requesting a larger line of credit a couple of times telling them I was interested in buying a 55 inch tv. They told me they do not accept credit line increases. Their faq page says they reveiw your acct 3 times a year well I think thats not true because if they did they would want to know why someone would open a credit line and not use it for almost a year. I got tired of waiting and bought a tv locally with my credit card which has a limit over 10 times what Fingerhut gave me. So now that I was fed up with Fingerhut I sent them 1 last email and told them if they were unable to give me an increase in my limit then I was going to close my account. This women called me and told me the same garbage about not taking credit increase requests. So I told her to close my account. She says we take Visa and Mastercard and I thought why on earth would I use my credit card to buy from Fingerhut and pay more, wait for them to ship it and hope it gets here undamaged on when they say when I can just go to a local store pay a lot less and have it that day. So folks save yourselfs some aggravation and just get a credit card. Let Fingerhut keep not taking credit line increases and lose money while you enjoy your purchases that day.
Typically you are told to read the fine print. When you end up paying more for your product and it doesn't make sense. It is usually due to a one-day late payment, or how ever late. It doesnt show up on your payment timeline. They don't care that you may have your financial good days and sometimes bad days. They will definitely penalize you. They try to act if they are there for you, but if you have 1 or 2 late payments. You will not proceed to a higher line of credit. Even if you pay the item in full. You don't get points for paying early or paying more. Like any thing in life. You get lucky with good merchandise and some you dont. Stay away from tools and beddings. Try and buy brands you know. Cell phones are usually a good buy. If you have good credit. I would recommend getting credit from a store. If your credit is 550 or less i would recommend finger Hut. If you dont see where you paid the item off and dont see it on your credit information. Continue to call to ensure its correct. They would definitely put you out there if you didnt pay. Good Luck.
I've never had any problems with this company. My credit have improved and i have always receive my merchandise earlier then the due date.
I bought a ps4 it had problems I call fingerhut no returns they said call Sony
You got 1year warranty but since I don't
Own it they will not fix it. What do I do?
Answer: No, they send orders behind orders without that issue, it's just that not enough payment that goes towards your bill to make it low.
Answer: Yes it helps build your credit try to order small items at a time pay off quickly and then add more bigger items and pay off installments to improve your fico scores and keep in mind any miss payments for fingerhut and your other credit cards will effect your fico scores so shop smart and enjoy
Answer: You don't pay anything at check out after your first time using fingerhut credit and once a month you will pay the monthly price unless you decided to pay it in full.
Answer: So far they have never allowed me to go over my limit. It always tells me I can pay the difference with a debit card or checking account
Answer: I'm not sure how to answer. I received a plastic card, but it was just something with my account number on it. As in an actual bank issued credit card, no they don't.
Answer: I purched a alcove chair and grant that its not made of leather and has been cracking on the surface however in all fairness to fingerhut i use my chair each and every day so of course the will be ware and tear and its mostly because i use it often most people who make bad comments are not taking this into consideration
