“And those checks keep rolling in!”

Ellie B.

I'm doing a lot of online shopping! Recently bought flooring and lighting from wayfair and lumber liquidators and some miscellaneous items from Walmart, etc. Got a $543 rebate check for October. Awesome! The membership has paid for itself many times over! Awesome!

Warning I.

This site was advertised to me after I made a purchase, making me believe that there was money to be saved on the purchase I just made. This is not the case. Essentially you have to buy the item through this website (yes, website, they do not have an app). They will charge you $20 to sign up. Since you already made the purchase, there is no money to be saved for you. & then they will charge you $20 again next month. & $20 more the month after that. They only give 10% back so you would have to buy at least $200 worth of stuff from THEIR SITE per month just to break even. 0 Stars.

Surprised to see so many negative reviews. I have been using their services for almost 4 to 5 years. Received 10% to 20% cash back and price protection rebates on several items. Excellent benefits if you shop online a lot.

At the request of the Freeshipping.com rep. That contacted me here, I e-mailed them with my proof, but their response is the same "Conflict: Order credited to other publisher"

So as I mention in my original post:

If you're planning on subscribing to Freeshipping.com, take note of my recent experience, and proceed with caution when purchasing large priced items, as you could be denied your cashback for any reason the retailer gives, and end up losing $100's of dollars.

Missing cash back $229.80!

• Previous review

During the recent Thanksgiving weekend - Cyber Monday, Freeshipping.com offered 20% cash back instead of the usual 10%, so I made multiple purchases of amounts ranging from $20 up to $1250. For the larger purchase amounts I took screen shots of the ordering process. Of all the orders I placed over this weekend, the largest purchase was not credited to my account $1250. 97, excluding tax $1149. I should have received $229.80 cash back for this order. After a week of not receiving the credit, I contacted Freeshipping.com, I sent them 3 forms of proof of this order transaction through e mail. The first was a screen shot from the website I purchased from ABT Electronics, showing the order confirmation page. At the top of the screen shot, there's 3 tabs, the 1st tab states "Home| Freeshipping.com" the 2nd tab states "ABT Electronics| Freeshipping.com" and the 3rd tab states "ABT - Order Confirmation. The 2nd form of proof was a screen shot of the e mail order confirmation received from ABT Electronics, the 3rd was a screen shot of the rebates section on Freeshipping.com, this shows the date I made the purchase. After viewing my proof, a Freeshipping rep stated this:

"Hello, The documentation has been received. Thank you! From reviewing the order we are not able to directly locate a reason on our end that would negate the cashback from being reported. Keep in mind each retailer has their own restrictions and tracking records regarding cash back purchases. So we have sent a direct inquiry to the retailer regarding this purchase. If the retailer is not able to locate a reason on why the purchase was not added then you will see the cashback for that purchase added to your savings center in the next 2-8 weeks. Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns in the meantime. FreeShipping.com Customer Service"

The above is freeshipping.com confirming they can't find a reason why my cashback wasn't reported after viewing the proof I sent.

After 8 weeks of waiting, no cash back credit received for this order, I contact Freeshipping.com through e mail, and now, a different rep tells me this:

"The retailer had reported the purchase as Conflict: Order credited to other publisher."

The Freeshipping.com rep will not answer direct questions about this, but basically it states, ABT Electronics gave the cash back credit to an unknown cash back site, so Freeshipping.com can't pay me the cash back, unbelievable. Even with the proof I provided, this is how they treat a customer of 4+ years. If you're planning on subscribing to Freeshipping.com, take note of my recent experience, and proceed with caution when purchasing large priced items, as you could be denied your cashback for any reason the retailer gives, and end up losing $100's of dollars.

There are several reviews that are bad regarding freeshipping.com. My experience with them has been wonderful. They never charged me for something without my knowledge (it states it in writing when you sign up and with your intro email they send). I think the people who have negative things to say about this company are just not able to read and follow directions. If you READ and do what it states them you will be happy. I've received payments for all my shipping items. I did cancel after my trial period, but plan to sign back up closer to holidays when I start ordering more online. Thank you to freeshipping.com for being a great company and helping to reimburse those expensive shipping charges!

I'm ashamed. Somehow I got signed up to this scam way, way back in October 2010, and I've been paying $11.97 per month ever since, without even knowing I was signed up. That's how closely I (don't) monitor my credit card bill. Of course it averages about $8,000 in new purchases per month, so this charge is easily skipped over, but still, I'm embarrassed that I've missed it for so long. That's an expensive $300 lesson to check my statements a little more carefully.

I never knowingly signed up for this service. Now I will see how easy it is going to be to cancel it. My experience with another scam in the past is that these con artists sometimes don't let go that easily.

Be aware of this website, as soon as your cashback goes beyond $200, they start suspending your account and accuse you of commercial use and high volume shopping reasons.

I provided the receipts that all purchases were delivered to residential address or picked up by myself, but they don't care.

Then they pocket all the money for themselves and offer you a few monthly membership refunds. I found them dishonest and unprofessional.

So I was mentioned this website in my e. L. f confirmation email for my order. I knew this website was too good to be true so I read almost everything on the site even the terms and conditions and did not see any indication of a charge for this website. Well long story short I realized there was $12 (with change) missing from my bank account, I got notified it was this website and I called them up and they gave me my money back.

Piece of advice to freeshipping.com: There's no point adding a "clearly unwritten catch" if you're going to refund the money anyway. You're probably not even making any money. Just end this silly business of yours.

Tip for consumers:
Just pay the shipping fee.

Hi Jennifer,
Sorry for any confusion. When you first registered, to the right of where you entered your credit card numbers, was the offer outline that said if you do not cancel by the end of the trial period you would be charged a monthly fee of $12.97. Additionally, you would have also seen this in outlined in the Welcome Email that was sent to you.
Please contact customerservice@ freeshipping.com: ATT: Alice. I wil be sure you are cancelled and refund that charge for you.

Thank you

I don't recall joining. In fact, I'm sure I never would have. I NEVER ship anything, so I'd NEVER give my credit card number for a free 30-day trial nor any other such offer for "free" shipping. The credit card in question is a joint card, so it took 4 months of $12.97 charges to raise an eyebrow. My only possible method of recourse: This review. And I'm not alone... I quickly found several similar stories online by searching "freeshipping.com scam".

I ordered something a little over a week ago and they gave me a tracking number for some random order by someone else back to December 2019, completely inaccurate. I then read how you will have to make monthly payments after purchasing from them, so after looking at reviews in this thread it said to contact *******@freeshipping.com. I emailed them 4 days ago and still no response. I emailed within my 7 days of purchase and now because no one is responding to my emails I'm 100% they're going to still charge me monthly. Complete bull$#*!

It is not clear that you will be charged $12.97 per month for the membership. I was advertised that I could sign up for a 1-time rebate offer. Several months later, I realized they have been charging me every month without notifying me by email or making it clear up front. A horrible company that's obviously trying to take your money for nothing. Why don't you guys send email updates? Invoices of your charges? It's very obvious that you want to slowly take money from everyone's bank account until they find out and leave you a horrible review here.

Hi Brian, I apologize for the confusion you had regarding the membership fee. We do believe that it is clear that FreeShipping.com is a membership service. We list the charge 3 times prior to you being billed. It is first right next to the field where you enter your credit card number, again in the terms and conditions that you must agree to prior to signing up and lastly the membership fee can be found in the welcome email that you were sent upon signing up. If you were charged by us, please let me know and I would be happy to take care of this for you. You can email me directly at Help@FreeShipping.com. Thanks!

I noticed a recurring charge on our visa bill. When I called the number, I found out when my husband had ordered from ProFlowers months ago, he was signed up for this. He had no idea that this was being done. (Yes, we should have noticed this recurring charge and investigated it - will be more vigilant in the future). This service is virtually useless to us and a waste of money. What really concerns me is how they managed to sneak in this "membership" to unsuspecting customers, who think they are simply giving information to order flowers.

Unfailingly, after a company gets so many bad reviews, suddenly one person, that never wrote a review before at sitejabber, gives them 5 stars. And the person has the audacity of calling everyone else unable to read small print and unable to follow instructions. I wonder how much freeshipping.com paid them or these are employees and family members? Hum... and getting helpful votes? Hello, more employees or family?
This reminds me of a professional that everytime he got bad reviews would review himself under assumed names (one-time-wonder-reviewer) and give himself five stars.

Fell twice for this, never got a penny back

Truly shame on me.
First time I did not get a rebate because I submitted late (really?). I quit I joined again (how dumb is that?)
Second time I thought I order so much online that would now get my membership paid and more, even make up for lost prior membership.
Got nothing, obscure rules, more money lost.
I have no idea if this scam is still up.

Noticed this charge on my 90 year old father's charge statement, now that we are taking care of his finances. He had been charged since 2014! They offered a refund for the past year, but he was charged for 51 months! That is over $660. So they still got over $500 of his money. HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICE. I would put a rating lower than 1 if possible. He would not have ordered anything from Walmart online. I have no doubt, he would not have signed up for this service.

After many emails with customer service, all credits for 51 months have been received. It took many follow ups, but it has been taken care of. Use this service with extreme caution.

I cancelled my previous membership last year. Subscribed again this year and started paying monthly membership fee, no questions were asked during my enrollment and while payment also. Bought good $$$ worth of items thru freeshipping.com link, I should receive a very nice amount of cash back. When the time is coming to pay me the cash back, suddenly now they cancelled my membership. The reasons freeshipping.com is giving are baseless. The reasons/rules were not there in FAQ's or nowhere in freeshipping.com site. They are bagging most of all cash back money from Retailers by not paying back to subscribers. "Stay Away. Don't fall into their trap"

This used to be a reasonable service at 12.99 a month, they increased the cost to 19.99 and have so many restrictions, it's like they are looking to for reasons not to give you their 10% cash back. I was a member for about 7 years, then they raised the price without telling me (They did the same to a friend). I would not recommend this service to a friend.

What a RIP-OFF! Bait and switch, hidden costs, false charges and smart A$$ reps, to boot. Took over an hour just to get someone on the phone - constant busy until then. Told the rep I was not interested in anything they had to offer, wanted to be removed from the list and refunded the $12.97 charge. He simply said that I had signed up for it and they could charge my card for that reason. I don't know what they claim I signed up for, because all he could tell me was that I did it with an ebay purchase. So sick of these "legal" scams running rampant on the web. ENOUGH! Get a real job and stop stealing from unsuspecting consumers who want nothing to do with this useless company and only want whatever it is they had purchased in the first place!

These guys are scams and crooks. I ordered a Television online from Walmart. I did this to hold the item in store. They must have been a pop up with misleading information. I don't know why I gave them my info, I must have thought it was to hold the TV. I never noticed I was getting charged $12.95 a month for over seven months. The charge is small so I over looked or thought it was another family member using the service. Never received any info electronically or by mail. I called rep today, said that I had not asked to cancel but would stop charging me. I may have to cancel card to prevent further charges.

Hi,

I ordered book from Valorebooks.com, it said I am eligible for free shipping and I got this bull$#*! freeshipping link. I had to fill up a form. Nothing was mentioned about any trial period or membership fees. I called customer service now. That lady was rude and not ready to give my refund. They deducted $12.97 from my account. Its a scam. I cancelled my membership to avoid future deduction and there is no way out there to delete the card details.
They are not even giving my money back.
They take money from you and claim to give the same money back as freeshipping? Bull$#*!!
I didn't even get the shipping charges back.
Who will want to pay $12.97 for 3 dollars?
This website should be banned!

Hi Reshma,

We’re sorry to hear about your negative experience with our site. Our free trial is mentioned at the top of the sign up page and in the offer details directly above where you entered your credit card information. The offer details also state that if you do not cancel your membership during your trial period, you will automatically be enrolled as one of our members. Our members pay a monthly fee of $12.97 to access all of our online savings benefits.

However, we understand that a membership with us isn’t for everyone and we surely wouldn’t want you to pay for our service if you feel you do not benefit from it. It looks like you have already been refunded the $12.97 you were charged for a membership fee. If there is anything else I can help you with, please do not hesitate to reach back out. Again, I apologize for your experience and hope that I could help you out today. Thank you!

I have been a customer with this company for 6 or 7 years. I have SAVED hundreds of dollars each year. Don't understand why so many negative reviews have been posted. I would stress that unless you order a great deal online then by all means join and save on postage! If you only order a few things online then it probably would not be worth your while to join. You can save over a hundred dollars a year with Amazon, EBay, half.com and dozens of other websites! I have never missed getting checks for reimbursement for my orders! Just a terrific company in my opinion!

From the reviews I see here it sounds like a lot of people didn't realize what they were signing up for - the company needs to do a better job of ensuring people actually intend to purchase the product and know how to use what they have. I've had a membership for a LONG time (like maybe 10 years if I remember correctly) and I've received more in rebates than I paid in membership fees every year. (I pay annually, about $100, and usually get at least $300 back.) It works for me because I do a lot of shopping online, regularly shop at several stores that participate, am in the habit of clicking through the freeshipping.com site to shop, and have time to fool with the claims process.

I ordered a swing set from Walmart in December 2014 for my granddaughters and just noticed (because I hardly ever use this account) that my card has been charged $12.97 every month starting in December 2014. I would like my money back please. I am not aware of this company and have not used services with you. I called the phone number and was told maybe I could have $12 back. Come on. What a rip off. I just called about the charges from Freeshipping.com on my bank statement as well only to be told I signed up for it when in fact I DID NOT. If I see "free trial" for 30 days then cancel, I won't sign up for it. Strike one. Additionally, they told me I applied via a sales campaign, sign up for a Walmart.com credit card and get $10.00. I NEVER signed up for a Walmart.com credit card. Strike two. So if I didn't sign up for the credit card, with the correct last four digits, who the hell did! Plus I am now also out all the charges from Freeshipping.com as well. Something is definitely not right here! Sounds like law enforcement needs to do some investigating into this company.

HI Lona, I found your membership and see that you signed up when placing a purchase at Walmart.com and saw the offer for a trial membership and a $10 Walmart Gift Card offer (not a Walmart Credit Card offer). You even submitted the claim for the Premium but did not complete the process to receive the card by sending in your backup documentation.

You would have received a Welcome email that included instructions on cancelling as well as outlining all the Freeshipping.com benefits.

As a courtesy I will refund the February and March 2014 charges.
