Getaroom.com is a total scam. They do not relay your credit card to the hotel, and you are charged twice. They will not refund you and the customer service is the worst. This is a total SCAM! Do NOT Use Getaroom.com

The only reason I'm hesitant to say anything at this early moment is I have had several bad experiences with online companies so I decided to try get a room. So far the experience has been just fine. It was easy to book I must say. I will update my experience again at a later date. However bad companies normally don't ask for your feedback right away or at all. They're hoping you do not find where to leave a review. Get a room has asked me several times. That shows me they are trying to do a great job.

Do yourself a favor and book with the hotel directly. I booked multiple rooms for a church function. This company literally makes almost twice as much off of your booking with them. I called in to try to cancel and it was past the time by 2 minutes for them to be able to refund most of the finances back and they would not. I would say save your time and call directly to a hotel and get a better rate!

I booked a hotel room and then cancelled within the cancellation deadline. My request for a refund received the following replies. First reply incorrectly stated room was non refundable. Second reply was I missed the deadline to cancel. Third reply requested documentation that I submitted a cancellation request...attached to my email to them requesting cancellation! NOTE all of these relies included my initial email requesting cancellation proving these first two replies were lies. Fourth and final reply was...sorry, get a rom has already paid the hotel so no refund is possible!. My next step was to... my credit card company. AVOID them. They are either very stupid or very crooked!

Booked a room at getaroom.com charged a $ 70.00 convenience fee. What a rip off. Talk about price gouging.
Update. I received a $70.00 credit on my cc. They obviously care about feedback. I commend them on their attention to detail and making the moral choice in the form of a refund.

We booked 5 nights in London.
When we arrived it seemed that the booking was not completed.
Paid almost 1000 euro for the room.
We where said to look for something else because they could not found our booking.
So we left the hotel.
Now there is a procedure with police to recover our money...

If I could give zero stars I would! This site is a SCAM! The hotel I stayed at was not as advertised. When I called the booking site to complain they called the hotels front desk and spoke to Natalia. Natalia said if my husband and I wanted to checkout early they would issue a refund for the night we did not stay. Fast forward 10 days and they're denying that they promised a refund and said the booking is non refundable but refunded me $84. Which I do not accept! They're saying that was the resort fee but the resort fee was well over $200. When I called the hotel to inquire about the refund they say they could only give me $99 back. The amount keeps getting less and less but never anywhere near the $258 I spent on the room. I have Mary, a representative from getaroom.com. Confirming that it is stated in the notes that Natalia promised a refund for the night not stayed at the hotel. Seems pretty cut and dry if you ask me but they refuse to refund me what they promised. This company is a bunch of lying scammers and I wish I looked into them before booking through them. I will be complaining to the better business bureau and any social media platform I can.

I was contacted after my review on Site Jabber of this company and its practices. They did provide a full refund of my money. Thank you for that. I would still be very careful when using ANY booking service and still recommend you contact the hotel directly by phone for bookings.
Original review. I mistakenly booked thru this site, also known as Reservationonline.com which I was redirected to from the actual Hotel's web site. I realized I booked a night when the event I was to attend was actually taking place the next week. I contacted them at the 800 number and they would not simply change the date. NO REFUND was requested just a simple change of date. The reservation says non-refundable. I never asked for a refund just a simple change of date. Save yourself the loss of your money and ALWAYS contact the hotel directly to book, which was my intention. This redirect on a hotel's web site cost me $200.

Thought I was calling Hilton directly, but not the case. What should have been a simple reservation, was so difficult to get through. When I arrived at the hotel, the reservation did not include our pet which the Getaroom rep said it did and find out that I'm not eligible for honors awards because it was a third party reservation. Horrible experience dealing Getaroom. I have now added the Hilton app so I don't make the same mistake. Have to say though Home 2 Suites in Little Rock West on Shackleford Rd. Is awesome. We travel with our dog - the room was clean, smelled amazing and the staff exceptional.

So I booked through what I had thought was the Hotel website but it wasn't. It was actually linked to Getaroom.com. The pricing seemed competitive so I decided to just proceed. After all was said and done - my $150 / night room for 2 nights was $528. They added $200 in service fees to reservation - of to which was NOT notified about PRIOR to completing reservation. I called phone number and they would NOT cancel reservation. I informed bank and a stop payment is being placed on account. Absolute thieves! Priceline should be ASHAMED of themselves for being associated with this SCAM site! BEWARE! Watch the fees they add on!

I booked 2 rooms through getaroom.com and had two issues. 1) we were overcharged for the rooms. They charged 191.18 and when we got to the hotel the charge was 129.672) the 2nd room had the reservation but the hotel said that they did not receive the money for the 2nd room so we had to pay at the hotel as well. That charge was 129.67. I tried to upload the proof of purchase but could not convert to JPG.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
