I reserved a room through get a room for a weekend to celebrate my partners birthday. When we arrived at the hotel, they didn't have a room for us. They had declined the reservation but get a room still charged us.ive spent considerable time arguing with them to get a refund. They finally agreed but acted like they were doing us a favor. After a ruined weekend, they owed us more than an actual refund.

Was perfect in making an 11 day reservation. Unfortunately relatives had to cancel the wedding. Getaroom handled cancellation incredibly -- spoke with Dyle on 4/26/22 at 7:12 AM. He was excellent. I made a reservation for LaQuinta Inn of Mobil, AL. When the receipt showed up on computer it was showing a reservation for the LaQuinta Inn at Tillman's Corner, Mobile. I needed, and thought, I was making a reservation for the LaQuinta Inn on Airport Blvd. When I noticed it, I called, and they said the charge of $355 could not be given back to me. The lady kept me on the line while she checked with the hotel, and I am assuming it was the hotel at Tillman's Corner. They said they would reverse the charge, but it would take 3 - 5 days. This is the fifth day, and it is still on my bank card. I called again and the man said he would get the charge reversed - in another 5 - 7 days. What's the problem? It only took less than 5 minutes to get it charged to my bank card. I went ahead and made a reservation for the Airport Blvd. LaQuinta. Why does it take so long?

Their online booking site fools you believing you are booking directly with the hotel. They gave me a price of $81 and congratulations getting the best price. After my card was charged $128 I called immediately and was told that I couldn't get a refund even though I had not checked in. He said that was the hotel's policy but the receptionist said I would have received a refund if booked with them and all the other booking sites they use. This scam operates without any name on their website or email. They charge ridiculous rates using unscrupulous tactics!

An error was made in booking and when I called to fix the error, I was put one hold for at least 30 minutes each time (four separate calls), denied the chance to speak to a supervisor, requested a call back from the supervisor (which never happened), and could not get the issue resolved. Because the error in booking was for April instead of June, the cancellation policy forced me to pay the full cost of the room. The entire fee of the room was not fully disclosed and resulted in over $200 more than I was expecting due to taxes and fees. Common sense, customer service and a supervisor's override could have easily fixed the situation. Instead I did not get the hotel reservations I wanted, paid $900 for a hotel room that I never got to stay in, and have nothing good to say about my experience.

Booked room for a Sat. And Sun. Night. Received text saying on Fri that the reservation was for that night. Called hotel and told them of the error and they said 'no problem' just call 'Getaroom' and have them send udated. Manifest to specific email.'Geraroom had us wait the first time 37 minutes then said it would be best to cancel, then rebook. Then said the hotel was full ( it wasn't) … but now saying we couldn't cancel first reservation, They would not send 'updated manifest' as requested by hotel. So easy to help us… but they refused After 3 calls totaling 2 hours of being jacked around by Getaroom, I HEARD LAUGHING IN THE BACKGROUND. A bunch of 'robots' reading from a script with no intention of helping. The short getaway planned with my daughter ruined! They could care less…

Do NOT book through GetARoom.com. They use shady practices where you believe you are clicking on the hotel site. They also book hotels that do not have rooms available. For us, we booked a room which wasn't available in Athens, TN. We called them within 10 minutes and they stated they would process a refund but it would be 3-5 days before we received it "depending on our financial institution" I called 5 business days later, they stated it's already in process and I needed to wait another 3-5 days. I called back 3 business days later and was told "they have a new process and it wasn't processed correctly. You need to wait another 3-5 business days." Each time waiting and being placed on hold multiple times. IT IS A SCAM! Read reviews, it's the same story over and over.

I mistakenly booked the wrong night for a hotel in Washington DC. Called immediately to correct the error. Customer service told me they would need to book the correct night and could not guarantee a refund for the incorrect night.
Have been on hold for over 53 minutes trying to get a simple mistake resolved, and still no resolution.

Scam. Do not use it. First, they add additional charges that you don't see until after you are charged. Then, you can't cancel! I booked rooms that were $150 per night MORE than what I thought and then the cancellation fees were going to be more than $1,000 for a four-night booking! They are scam artists. Beware. This is a horrible company. I thought I was booking with The Kimpton Canary directly but ended up at this third party company. I booked and cancelled within 20 minutes after seeing the added fees of over $260 that they did not disclose. I called getaroom.com and they told me that the other hotel does not allow cancellations. They are liars. The hotels site allowed cancellations until 3 days before the reservation. The getaroom representative, told me that She could offer 10% off the fees which I refused and said I would dispute the charge with my credit card. I am out $659 for the room. I was told nothing can be done. This company is a SCAM! Do not ever book with them! I filed a complaint with the BBB and my credit card company. I demand a refund.

Still waiting for the reply. The cc was settled within days if not hours of the reply. I've emailed for an update with no reply. Book elsewhere-this site is horrid.
I am extremely flexible in most situations. I am low maintenance and when I do reviews they are generally positive. If it's been extreme in poor customer service I will warn others. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOKING SITE!
Not responsible for vetting the hotel. Fees non refundable two weeks before the stay. Unresponsive after a token so sorry here's 10%. Do not use this website if you want a reputable hotel.
I booked hotel with getaroom, the price was the same before taxes as the hotels (I checked after seeing the overcharge), but ended up with an extra $200 of fees over and above what the hotel's site charges. I called getaroom customer service, they gave a run around citing the hotel policy of no refund on 100%, yet the hotel website and their customer service said that wasn't their policy. Nothing they could do.
After having reviewed our booking, a $216 refund will be returned after our stay.

Answer: They are not ethical. For me, they used a website that appeared to be the actual hotel website, did not identify themselves when they should have, and did not mention booking fees while they charged a 30 percent booking fee for a room that was its normal price. They were supposed to cancel charges on my credit card and did not. STAY AWAY!
Answer: They are a site attached to Trip Advisor---- if you see them on screen while trying to book a room-- hit cancel. I'm out over $150 because of their fraudulent cancellation policy.
Answer: Thought I was booking on the actual hotel sight but was deceived in as much as it was Getaroom. Talked to someone else also staying at this hotel at the same for about a third less. Called them right back and had already charged my card and it would be up to 3 weeks to refund. That's about what it took but did get refund. Then checked reviews and no one had anything good to say about getaroom. Go straight to hotel sight of one you know and trust or stick with something like Travelocity.
Answer: I'm definitely in. There's something very deceptive, if not illegal, when you start off on a hotel's website and when you click Make a Reservation, it somehow transfers you to the GetARoom site without your knowledge. I had no idea this was done until I received their email confirmation. I'm thinking of contacting my state's Consumer Protection Div. Of the AG's Office to file a complaint when I get back from vacation.

Answer: Wow. This is one bad company. Made a reservation and then needed to cancel. They gave cancel date all along. I called to cancel on that date and was told that date was only for 1 minute of date they told me. I was supposed to forfeit one night's cost. Luckily I made reservation on AMEX and they'll tell this fraud company to get lost. Moral of the story: make reservations through hotel.
