It was a fine experience making my reservation online via guest reservations.
Excellent. Nothing more to say. This is a waste of time
Found them somewhat deceiving and it was unfortunate they were unwilling to make things right or help
Made hotel reservation
Upon hitting "complete reservation" button, Guest Reservations lists a$204. Service fee which is non-refundable. RIP OFF NIGHTMARE.
Booked the Canary Hotel in Santa Barbara where I have stayed multiple times, for 4 days (3 + 1 night, with a 3 day separation), through what looked like the hotel's website, kimptoncanaryhotel. Guest…. It was the top Google listing when I Googled Kimpton Canary.
It turns out to be a fraudulent site. I clicked on the $412 room rate, and made a reservation for the first three nights, then started over and make one for the night before my return flight. I did not see until ten minutes later, when the email confirmations arrived that I was charged a 44% and 45% "recovery fee", in addition to the room rate, for a total of $757.10 in "recovery fees" for the four nights. I called the number on the site, thinking it was all a mistake, but was told that the reservations were not cancellable (this is 15 minutes after I made the reservations for 7 weeks from now!). They said it was the "hotel's cancellation policy" (I have that in writing from the site's "Customer Care" person. I realized that I had been scammed, and called the Canary's general manager, Richard Cox, who said there was nothing they could do from their end. Great, I am a good repeat customer, but out $757 because Kimpton/IHG Hotels chooses to work with a fraudulent site, to get more bookings. Worse, the fraudulent site then routed the reservations through GetARoom.com, and another site. The Canary thinks that's where I booked the rooms. Why Kimpton/IHG chooses to work with a site that fleeces its customers, I cannot understand. At no point until I clicked "reserve" did I gee anything but the $412 room rate in big bold font. It turned out that there was a teeny asterisk, and in a light colored small font it listed the $556.23 and then the $200 + (for the last night) booking fee. I have never heard of anything so fraudulent in dealing with what I thought was an easy only booking. No, it's NOT out of your hands, Canary, just choose not to deal with shysters. I have all the screen shots and emails if anyone thinks I am making this up. BEWARE!

On July 6th I was in Salem, Oregon and beginning a drive to Medford 4 hours south. I googled the Hampton Inn Ashland, Oregon and the image for the advertisement below was what appeared WITH the map of Oregon just below. The image is for the Hampton Inn in Ashland OHIO. I clicked through on the image and made a reservation and when I went to text my daughter the address of the hotel I caught the mistake. I tried calling the hotel and NEITHER HOTEL would accept a cancelation. Next I tried contacting GUEST RESERVATIONS and they had only a voice mail message and NO WAY to correct this mistake. I left a text message on their form. I did stay at the Hampton in Oregon that night and I have been fighting with Citibank and Guest Reservations since JULY 6th to reverse the charge in Ohio. First of all, I have to wonder if this is a common mistake and if other people have not encountered this problem. Please notice this attached photo taken today, 8/19. The ad with the OREGON map is still up indicating that the hotel is actually the OR hotel but when you click through you are really making a res in OHIO. I informed all of the entities involved and each one blames the other. Still no satisfaction from GUEST RESERVATIONS in spite of the fact that the Hampton Inn Corp informed me that their charges were returned to Guest Reservations. Guest Reservations has sent no fewer than 3 requests for a review following one advice that their charges would be reversed on my Citibank card within 3-5 days. (Never happened.) Here's the review. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!
Quick and easy. The reservation was at the front desk upon my arrival, however, prior to my making this reservation--when I called this number I believed it was the Hampton Inn in Ft. Collions, Co. To my surprise I immediately was charged for this room when I hung up on the phone! Not only for the room, but for a hefty service charge. I believe my experience, upon calling, was misleading and false. I was quite upset being led to believe I had the Hampton Inn where I would not of been charged this type of service charge.
I was dissasatisfied with the final bill. The room rate was great but the extra fees were horrible. I had to pay an extra $127.00 for fees to use the getaroom.com website. Never again and I hope no one else does!
They misrepresent themselves as hotel. They over charge. They are a scam and a fraud. BBB should shut them down. Disgusting. Should be minus stars
Family emergency forced me to make a quick reservation for my husband. I thought I was at the Hampton Inn website, however, unbeknownst to me, I was redirected to this shyster's website. I made a two night reservation and immediately was SHOCKED at the final rate AFTER the reservation was made. The fees this company tacks on AFTER the reservation is made will shock you and should be criminal. I then realized my mistake. I immediately called to cancel, was told I couldn't. I tried to reduce to one night. Again, was flatly refused. I asked to speak to a manager, I was kept on hold for over an hour. The agent would occasionally come back on the line to tell me they weren't available and, through tears, I continued to say I wanted to hold. I explained to the agent that my brother in law was dying and I made an honest mistake thinking I was at the hotel website. NO SYMPATHY whatsoever. I was never able to actually talk to a manager or supervisor... ultimately, after waiting over an hour, I gave up. A one night stay that should have been $180 turned into over $550. DON'T EVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY! They are EXTREMELY dishonest, will steal your money and will put profit before human decency. They need to be permanently shut down. I plan to file a complaint with the BBB. AVOID at ALL costs!

My experience was horrible as soon as I arrived I had a completely different room and they promised to change the room as soon as possible they made me wait until the next night to change me to another room I didn't want and the room was filthy and had Graffiti on the walls and a dirty I bucket with no bag and you can tell they hardly cleaned the room. I have been to Atlantic City before and this is by far the worst experience. The room was soo bad I left the night before check out.

More expensive than calling hotel directly. Would not refund despite being before 10:00am. Rude customer service

Hi Manuel, we are sorry you had this experience. Just like when you book through a hotel directly, Guest Reservations must charge its customers for all applicable taxes, including any hotel taxes. Additionally, by charging a service fee for all of its reservations, we are able to offer 24/7 customer support and operate as an independent travel network. Guest Reservations conspicuously discloses all fees and taxes on its checkout summary webpage, asking customers to check a box acknowledging these before they enter their payment information. Despite our transparency, we remain concerned about your experience. Please provide us your reservation # and the email address used at purchase and we will respond with the next steps. Thank you.
Very quick and easy. After filling out my credit card details at the time I did not notice there was a booking / tax fee. If I had spotted this at the time I would not have booked with Guestresvations and then I found it was not returnable if I should cancell.
I booked 3 rooms for 9/22,9/23 & 9/24/22 with the understanding that one of the days we may have to cancel because we were unsure when my son would ship out. After booking all 3 rooms, the rep confirmed the booking dates, said I would get an email for each of the reservations (to this day I never got after calling over 15 times) check in and out times and the cancellation policy which was, " You can cancel any of these reservations up until 9/21/22 before 3:59 PM. If you cancel after that then there is an $83 cancellation fee." After she was done I told her that I should know no later than 9/17/22 whether or not we will be cancelling the last night. Then she said, "Oh, these reservations are not cancelable. (is that a word?)" I said "Wait! What? You just told me the cancellation policy 3 times, once after each booking and now you are telling me there is no cancellation? Well I want to want a refund on all 3 Reservations because you deceived me. There are laws against what you did. You can't give me the policy then take my money and change the policy. I'm still looking at the rooms on your website and it says 'Free Cancellation." Then she said "No, no cancellations." I said, "Oh, we'll see about that!" and I hung up. I immediately took a screen shot of their website showing the available rooms at Red Roof Inn just so I would have it just in case this became a legal matter. In addition, Guest Reservations used Red Roof Inn information and photos to deceive us in thinking we were calling Red Roof Inn! I think they call that "Theft by Deception" in the legal world. I have reported them to the BBB (which by the way has 554 complaints similar to mine) and will continue to fight this along with my credit card company until I am satisfied. Guest Reservation Webpage DOES have a cancellation policy so I got that as well. I'm sorry but I do not have proof of purchase to upload because they NEVER sent me the email confirmations! The evidence that I have is on my desktop but I am using my phone to write this review. But if Guest Reservations wants it, they call reach out to me themselves. I also have 2 witnesses to this incident.
Hi Lesley, we understand and we want to help resolve your concerns. To keep your account secure, please send us your reservation number (beginning with ‘R’), email address, and the name the reservation was made under in a private or direct message. Thank you.
Everything is so easy to find online, and the descriptions of rooms are very helpful. I asked a question about the reservation and received an answer within one day.
Easy site to use, but accessing it from England means that thee final cost is not known until the decision has been made - an extra £40 over an above the quoted rate is quite high!
I'm not one to write reviews, I usually just mooch off of others but this experience has been so bad I have to share in hopes I can spare anyone else this experience. I booked a hotel room directly from Google Chrome on my phone and unfortunately stumbled upon Guest Reservations (unknowingly). It was then the biggest series of unfortunate events. I made the reservation for the wrong weekend (the weekend prior to when I needed it), however, did not realize it till the weekend I needed the hotel room (the weekend after the reservation). On reading the fine print that I unfortunately had to read, their "cancellation policy" states one cannot cancel reservations unless canceling the day before you made them - yes, you read that right. I made my reservation on the 29th of August and the cancellation policy was that I had to have cancelled before the 28th of August! After realizing all this, I called their customer service explaining the circumstances to them - I was in town for a funeral - and asked if, understanding there are no cancellations, the funds I had already paid could be applied to a room the weekend I was actually in town. They said no - there were absolutely no cancellations or refunds, though on occasion there were refunds for death or bereavement. They said if I sent them the death certificate (!) or obituary they may refund my money. I obliged, sending the obituary, and then received an email 2 weeks later saying they would not process the refund as the hotel already had the money and if I could get the money back to them from the hotel, they may refund me.
This site is an absolute scam. Do not get trapped in to booking with them. Check your URLs! I was unfortunately incredibly distracted when I made the reservation but I will triple check my URLs from now on. Only book with reputable service (expedia, kayak, priceline) or best the hotel directly. NEVER use this website.

When we checked in we were told they are cleaning the room but when we went to it, there was no cleaning going on. We had a room on the ground floor, once in the room the problems started, there is a busted up la desk on the bed, the bed smelled of perfume and had make up on the sheets and crumbs in the bed, the bedside phone was busted, the lampshade on the door side of the bed had dried up blood, and mold on it, the lamp was rusted, if you needed the other lamp you had to unplug the bedside one, broken doors, rusted door frames, holes in the walls, sink was broken, bathtub curtain rod falling off the wall, filthy floor, we had to tolerate it for 1 night sleeping on top of the comforter and our coats as blankets, tv only had a fuzzy picture, the furniture is broken, during the night people trying the door handle, could it get any worse, lo and behold at 630 am we get woken up by screaming arguing guest AND their dog barking, continental breakfast nope the furniture is all stacked up and the area blocked off, your choice a filthy coffee pot cold cereal and milk out of a fridge that was not plugged in overnight, 2 doors down from us the room is boarded up where a car drove through it, broken down trailers and construction equipment in the parking lot, the front desk says sorry they are waiting on furniture from Wyndham to replace all the broken stuff... this should be a negative star review we were refunded thankfully DO NOT STAY HERE ps the cleaning staff thinks the place is a joke too and they only change sheets every other day to save money apparently that applies even if other guests have stayed in the room
