Fairly seamless, although would appreciate more instruction on process. After completion, I could not enter the IRS account to pay my tax bill, resorted to old-school mail... then 2 days later, saw that I now have access...
When I first used this service, it worked seamlessly. The second time through, it failed miserably. The server was either too slow or non-responsive. And there is no way to contact a real person by phone or chat. All you can do is file a trouble ticket and sulk. They need to dedicate more resources on web servers and real people to support customers from all over the country.
I was surprised how easy it was to use this process. I really feel there should be a process, system and requirement in all areas where you must show proof of your identity. Very easy to use and secure.

Avoid using ID.me if you can. They want too much info on you that they really dont need to know. Sharing your personal info in my opinion is like posting all of your personal info on something like Face Book...and if for any reason ID.me gets hacked into, all your info belongs to the hackers.

When trying to enter the Social Security website I encountered the need to prove my identity. At first I was intimidated but followed instructions given by ID.me. The instructions were very clear & not difficult to follow. I had to take photos of my drivers license then upload, then take a video selfie to upload. Neither difficult because of concise instructions. The process took me about 5 minutes & all my computer skills are basic & self taught. Once complete I felt safe including the necessary information & I was able to access my Social Security information. In today's world cyber criminals are nothing more than cowardly criminals hiding behind a computer screen, don't let them intimidate you, use ID.me with complete confidence in your own security.

Requires a response to a text message each and every time that you sign in. I appreciate a solid security app but dealing with this site is troubling. From time to time the screen lock up and you cannot proceed to the next question.

Overall good, but I live in Germany and didn't have some dox that were only 90 days old or had my present address. 1099 for example. But in the end I just needed my 50 year old SS card and my passport. No prob.

Because of cell phone issues with my caller ID, it would have been impossible to upload my documents, had it not been for a 2 nd option offered by if me. Was very relieved and thankful for the professionalism that was extended to me.

I was forced into using this service that locked me out was no help at all getting me back in and treated me like it was a perpetrator of some kind to get access to my own records. I would never have used them nor will I ever again unless I'm forced to just like I was this time. When I finally got everything I needed then it was questioned after question will you review us will you leave this message will you go to side jabber will you blah blah blah blah blah totally done with this and if you think I'm leaving a photo or any other b******* that would be incorrect

You call MY credibility low, but want my blood type and phone number? That's nerve. You can shove this review in a deep dark streaming pile of crap as far as I'm concerned. Just make sure you get a big old whiff while you're down there.

Takes about 1/2 an hour to get an account, that is if you are facile with taking photos of your ID and pasting it. But after all that I could ne sign in to my account but got this message:Your request could not be completed...

No way to determine if the system is clogged and will work later or if there was something wrong with my signing in. Poorly designed and was too ambiguous NOT USER FRIENDLY.

My case manager from the VA had to help me and then when I was verified it told me my account was suspended with no reason. Now I have to call the SS phone number in the morning and find out why. It was a waste of time.
My social worker tried to sign me up for food stamps, medicate and this.

Loading DMV Pictures was terrible & very time consuming! What finally worked was backing up a bit & taking a picture & cropping it ahead of time - so that it is ready for load up, so u don't time out again & have to start over!

Horrible - extremely difficult to register with the program. Spent many hours trying to simply register so I could access healthevet site to communicate with my doctors. I would give it zero stars but it's not an option.

Worst system & most inconvenient, still locked out of acct months later! I reached out to get assistance to access my account and no response back and again cannot log in today same issue no response despite providing all correct info. Same error message: No account information match or No acct found!

While the process for setting up an ID.me verification is fairly easy, and the attempt to prevent identity theft and fraud is warranted and appreciated, this creates another database that is subject to breach by hackers. The biometric storage of the required selfie is particularly disturbing. However, those who wish to access their government accounts are not provided much choice but to participate.

There was a previous question asking do you trust id.me I don't know trust has to be earned not given I don't know how you're going to be using that information in a positive or negative way. Cuz a lot of people like myself have a distrust of the government. Yes I think it should be used on all government websites to weed out the people that are potentially illegal aliens and or wanted by other federal agencies.

The website should provide a list of items you need to set up an account on the FIRST page. For example, you will need pictures, both front and back of your license. Knowing the information needed prior to beginning would have made a difference.

It took some time to initially set up but well worth it. Had some trouble getting into SSA so switched to id&me and it was a snap to get the info I needed. So glad I set up this service. It's the safest online today.

The agent was very helpful, patient and diligent. Extremely professional. Even though I had connection problems she was very patient. I also had technical problems with my headset she took time and contacted me on the phone while still being connected on zoom.

This system was so quick and easy! And it would have been a lot quicker but I made the mistake of using the same email address when I helped my son complete his verification. As soon as the issue was discovered I was immediately prompted to speak to someone face to face. It was amazing having the issue resolved right on the spot!
