I couldn't get into my account because I lost access to my old email and phone number. But I emailed them and they helped me update all my info so that now I can access my account and everything is updated... I would recommend for sure.
Tried to correct a bad physical address. Because it wasn't my present address the assistant refused to understand a human could have lived at more than 1 location in their lifetime and just kept telling me to go change my profile ( present address). Still trying to get ahold of a human.
Had to change password. Process was confusing as the explanation was too many steps and what to look for next: text or email and which link to follow. Also, must get tax records for 2years and SS info for 2 years. And verifying your NJ license by phone pix. Many steps!
Definitely have improved since I used this site the first time a few years ago. I had issues getting my identity verified prior to using ID.me and even the first time I used I'd.me I had issues but by the grace of God I was able to persevere this time around and got verified and am able to now use services or receive benefits that I couldn't before
My experience is the ups and downs of life but my story and my challenges are also help someone else to be able to detour away from the things that causes you to make the wrong decision rather than the right
It's a you don't have a choice no way around not using the website. So why anyone cares about reviews is beyond me. You can NOT log into the IRS without using ID Me it's just another government roadblock like making everyone stay home during covid.
The VA changed their login process for MyHealtheVet to require a verified ID.me or a VA.gov account. I'm unable to drive so I do not have a driver's license or state ID. I do have a VA issued picture Health ID. The ID.me website says this can be used as an alternate primary ID, but the verification process rejects it. Customer Service was of no help and didn't seem to understand the issue on even a basic level. So essentially - my VA issued Health ID was not an acceptable ID to log on to the VA health website. Which seems absurd.
I successfully updated my old phone number to an existing one. My previous account had my outdated number, which prevented me from receiving the authentication code to access ID.me. Fortunately, the registration office provided me with a computer to follow the prompts and helped me change my username and password without any hassle. I was impressed by the on-site phone system, which allowed me to connect directly with the technology department in Tampa, Florida. The technician guided me through each step, ensuring I understood the process, including how to upload my driver's license. By the end of the session, I felt fully confident in opening my new ID.me account and navigating the website with ease. I want to extend my gratitude to both the Registration Office in Richmond, VA, and the technology assistant in Tampa, FL, for their exceptional support. As a fellow veteran, I truly appreciate the outstanding service I received.
My ssa1099 was at first rejected because it had my US address and not my current address in Ecuador. I could not give them a document from Ecuador with my Ecuador address that id. Me would accept. Finally, they accepted my Ecuador id with a full-color scan but it does not have my Ecuador address. Took a week to get certified.
The entire process seems very complicated and cumbersome at first with all the instructions and having to go to your email to verify that with a code and then your phone with a code and then take a selfie that makes you look cartoonish then the screen flashes all sort of colors but completing the process and getting the identity verified message is a sigh of relief. Ive had to do this twice and the first time was like living in hell so im glad the second ordeal went a lot smoother. Its understandable that its important to verify that someone is who they say they are but your software has to work well too or people will just give up and go a different route.
