I had to wait on hold for 35 minutes before the problem with my order was addressed. The shopper delivered someone else's order. I'm not upset about that - nobody is perfect. What is outrageous to me is the time I had to spend on-hold waiting for a person in the "delivery mistakes" deptartment to get on the line. The person who answered my call was not allowed to take care of the problem, whether rescheduled delivery or refund, so I had to be punished with a long wait on the phone. When the wrong order delivered person finally got on the line, they rescheduled my delivery for tomorrow and promised some discounts or free delivery or something else because I had a hard time understanding what she was saying. For all the money I spend in a year with Instacart, I would expect far better customer service than this!
Instacart ShopRite Delivery wrong address received refund against my will refused re delivery! Called customer service. Rep keep talking and he do not listen customer. Transferred to Q, when I asked for supervisor and disconnected, Rep agreed to re delivery, but changed his mind for no reason applied refund without my permission. Called customer service again re: issue. Spoke to rep. Wait on line, but supervisor was not available. I never received my items, received refund without permission instead of redelivery my order. It's a really bad experience!,
I ordered my groceries through Instacart on Saturday. They were supposed to deliver between 7 & 8 pm. Later I got a message that they rescheduled it for Sunday, 7-9 am. Okay, that's fine.
Sunday I get a message that my groceries will be delivered by 10 am. 10 am passed, no groceries. 10:45 am no groceries & no message as to why my delivery hasn't arrived.
Sunday, 11 am I had to call Instacart. They said they didn't have anyone this weekend & my grocery delivery got rescheduled for 1 am Tuesday, 2 days later. My caregiver didn't show up Friday. I have no water, no milk, no treats for my dog & cat, so they expect me to starve. BS.
About myself: I am a disabled elderly female & can only get around by my caregiver. I will not use this service ever again.
They did me wrong & they know it & won't receive any repercussions for it., like every other corporation that screws over the American People. Then the representative on the line told me to have a 'Nice Day'. No, that won't happen. I don't know what I'm going to do.
Then they wonder why I didn't give them their full tip in the beginning. And although it's their fault for my inconvenience, I won't see my refund for another 3-7 days. They credited my bank account even though they never started shopping for the items in my order.
In conclusion, Instacart is corrupt! And I wouldn't recommend anyone to use their services.

Great concept, brutal customer service. They "auto renew" the account which always leaves a bad taste. If you try to call them for help they will actually hang up on you, complete indifference. It is shocking to think of a business being run like this. I wouldn't sign up again and have deleted my accounts in the middle of my membership due to gross incompetence with the customer support. I wanted an email to confirm my account deletion and they couldn't make it happen. I don't trust this company.

Don't sign up or if you do avoid calling customer service. They literally hang up on you. They have kids answering the phone who really don't care and will actually hang up mid sentence. I wanted an email confirming my account was deleted because of auto renewal, this was too much to ask. AVOID

I ordered ground beef but got ground beef and pork instead. Instead of refunding $47.85 which was the original price of the ground beef, they refunded $23.90 and insisted that was how much I was charged originally despite the receipt showing I was charged $47.85. Their shoppers never get orders right and their customer service is the most difficult people to deal with.
I had an order delivered to wrong address and they were just unwilling for the longest to simply make it right. Why should customer have to suffer waiting 2 weeks for a return. I needed those items for catering and I couldn't get them. Waiting another 3 hours for delivery or a two week refund wasn't an option. It was a horrible, long first experience. They make it very hard to trust the incompetence of the employees they hire. There is no accountability and it's not ok. That was my first and last order with them! Stay away!
I had an order and the customer wasn't answering, i reached to customer support and they tried reaching out to customer and they couldn't be reached. I was then told they will cancel the order. Now at this point I already have the customer order in the back of my car and was told if the store doesn't take back to either donate or dispose, so that's exactly why I did. I was then told that within 30 to 40 mins I would get the batch amount which was over 40 and I never received it. I then reached out later in the day and was told I'm not getting anything back. So I was told to donate or throw away if store doesn't except back which they didn't and I'd still get paid for my service the who $40 and some change and that was a lie to. Literally have screen shots being told this lol. $#*! you guys hardcore and stop playing games. I also asked to speak to a manager and was told NO! Lol
I received a promotional email from Instacart purporting to offer $40 in discount on a purchase of $80. I made the purchase, but did not receive the advertised discount. When I wrote Instacart about it, I was told that I was ineligible for their discount, because the retailer had added a discount of their own. (Instacart's fine print for their promotion states: "Offer may not be combined with any other sale, promotion, discount, code, coupon, and/or offer.")
The retailer's discount was $2.

Extremely angry with Instacart at the moment. Placed an order, delivery time was changed four times and then never received the order. Phoned the rep was assured that the order would be the first one going out the next morning. Then the next morning we find out 15 minutes the order was supposed to be delivered the order was still not assigned. When I demanded to know why this was happening I was finally told they had no shoppers available in our area. If I had been told that in the first place other arrangements could have been made. Why would someone take an order, assure the customer it would be delivered when you know you had no shoppers in that area. Extremely poor service. Suggest that anyone who places an order ask if they have shoppers willing to shop for the order because they will not tell you.

I was trying to give this service a chance. Nothing worked. Every time either missing or expired item or poor substitute...There are plenty of out of stock products on the grocery websites, which you order and never get. Always the same. Nothing changed in my 2 years being a customer. I closed my account. Don't bother. Just find the time to go to the store and save money and good mood.
Every time I used this service, every time something was wrong. From different groceries. I got absolutely rotten tomatoes, a huge up to 2lb! Horseradish, etc. The service fee charge is absolutely out of understanding. What it is for?! I am the Amazon prime member since 2006 and if during this entire period of time I had issues, they were ALWAYS! Solved via customer service either in chat or on the phone. On instacart, if you received an expired product, they refund you to your instacart account and if you want to use your own money, you have to post a new order same day. So, your refund works only same day. Seriously? The Instacart looks to me in the way in works like a one, big, legitimate scam. I tried a free membership with Chase credit card - nothing helped to get a better service. I cancelled everything with them and will never use it again. Unfortunately, a couple of my favorite groceries that hold a good quality products directly from farmers, are a bit far away to drive. But I better drive than spoil my nerves with instacart. If you look for the quality service, the only one is Amazon. Amazon Fresh has a not super great variety and the prices are little higher, but if you got any expired product or something was missing, you get an immediate refund.
I guess the one star is for the delivery driver, who was lovely.

Please review fees before ordering thru instacart. They have lot of hidden fees that you don't see like large item fee...my service charge for a free delivery was $14.24! This does not include a tip. I feel raped!

Update: After spending a fair bit of time and effort, I was finally able to get hold of someone and full amount was refunded. An unpleasant roller coaster ride.
Terrible company and shoppers, I have very bad experience not just once but 4 times, today I got a small toilet paper roll delivered when I ordered for a large pk of paper towels for 28.99. How can anyone with brain make such poor choices unless their intent is to cheat, after spending 4 hours with various support people without refund I am better off campaigning to banish this unethical company from America
I don't like using these instacart or things like this; but I had too. I am quarantined. I had the same person for the last two times. I gave the guy an extra tip and excellent star rating in hopes it would make him feel better. Instead he gets me ripped off by picking to dissimilar products and didn't even ask. He just threw two things in and didn't care. I looked to see if I was able to avoid this guy; but no. Instacart has it set up to where their shoppers can do whatever they want. Quarantined or not I'll do my own shopping; what a huge let down. I hope they get rid of this crap. It literally is just a way to vent and take more money from you.
I received this hamburger on 6/1/23. It's dated 5/24/23. I called customer support. They then asked me to send a picture of the label to customer appeals. My appeal was denied. I was told it was denied because "I complain too much".
If my order goes to the wrong house, or my meat is expired, or I ask for 2 pounds of chicken and get 4; yes I am gonna complain.These are just a few errors. I have been an Instacart user since 2018. Recently, I broke my foot so yes, I use Instacart a lot.
Maybe instead of getting mad at frequent users of their app, Instacart should hire better shoppers.
1st of all I believe their shoppers cant read or pay attention. Like the USPS employees who are basically illiterate.
They dont really look hard to find what you have selected to buy, thinking that you'll accept any replacement anyway!
And lastly, they are overpriced on almost everything you pick. So. If you're desperate and just cant get to the store by any means, look for another delivery service.

I was overcharged on my initial grocery order and was charged for an item I didn't order. After contacting CS twice I still haven't heard from them. I am now past their 7 day window for refunds. Obvious that this company is overwhelmed with the current situation but if you can't handle the extra business you need to let go of it.
Looked at my receipt and they charged me $7.59 for hamburger that was only $4.69. I called CS to get it corrected and I was totally polite about it, the cs rep barely spoke English. He kept telling me to hold for 2 minutes while he researched (or ate his sandwich?) He had me hold 5 times with NO resolution! Now my blood is boiling! I got nowhere with him. I sent an email and they want me the customer whose spending $80 an order to PROVE by taking a photo and sending it to them like I'm some criminal. I sent it but I'm calling my creditor to file a Fraud report! How can these grocery chains continue to work with such a dishonest company? Check your receipts because it's happened to me 2 out of 3 orders. They will not get future orders from us!
I ordered 5 things but only got 3 because they didn't allow enough time to accept replacement n paid 45.00 for 3 items. What a rip off. N the no plastic bag ban in nj makes it where the driver has to leave all items on your steps.

I've been using instacart for over a year a few times since I stopped driving. At first it was great. I always gave a cash tip and a small tip on the check out.
I noticed I never got the same shopper or delivery person. There were really bad mistakes in items, expired milk, replacing item with huge item for a family size, dented cans, broken eggs, that's a short list. Instacart did refund a few items. But then they added on the "heavy item" fee! All groceries are heavy as we all know. This heavy fee does not go the delivery person, I was responded to from instacart it was an administration fee? Say what?
What a low life company, these fees should be for the delivery person that carries this stuff to my home and from the store. I hope we get a better option than this greedy sleazy company.

I was saving money using them until today! My InstaCart subtotal was only $69 and change, and even after a replacement was made, it should have remained the same or less. My delivery guy provided the paper receipt, which showed a $66.97 subtotal. But InstaCart proceeded to charge me $75.47 subtotal. So after fees, I paid $95 instead of $86-$87. Their customer service is terrible on top of it, and there's ALWAYS excuses as to why their coupons don't work! I'm going back to Walmart grocery pickup!
I have ordered 15 times through instacart the last few by far than the worst poor communication skills rude shoppers total disregard for anything you say when they're asking you something and you reply it's like talking to a brick wall I'm done with instacart. I've had items not delivered I've had items purchased that I've never even added to my cart or received. I am disabled I asked them to leave it on the side porch most do but lately they don't do it even though I give them a tip.
Prices are ridiculously higher than the store, plus service fee, delivery fee and tip we paid $150 for an order that should have been $75

The pay is $7 per delivery a customer can order 100 items and only pay 7 dollars! This is terrible. The customers can also take their tip after you have walked through the store in search of their things and putting them in your car. Then hauling all this $#*! to an apartment or front door. It's time consuming and there should be a specific pay per item plus mileage not just mileage. This company sucks $#*!! They have no set standards for customers. A certain amount of items no matter what should have to require a tip. Not you shop 40 items and get paid 7 dollars that's $#*!ed up! This company sucks a whole $#*!!
