Instacart offers a convenient grocery delivery service, allowing me to shop from my favorite stores without leaving home. Whether I need fresh produce, pantry staples, or specialty items, Instacart delivers everything I need with reliable service and fast delivery. I appreciate the flexibility of scheduling delivery windows and the option to communicate with my shopper in real-time. Instacart has become a lifesaver, especially during busy weeks
I had to wait on hold for 35 minutes before the problem with my order was addressed. The shopper delivered someone else's order. I'm not upset about that - nobody is perfect. What is outrageous to me is the time I had to spend on-hold waiting for a person in the "delivery mistakes" deptartment to get on the line. The person who answered my call was not allowed to take care of the problem, whether rescheduled delivery or refund, so I had to be punished with a long wait on the phone. When the wrong order delivered person finally got on the line, they rescheduled my delivery for tomorrow and promised some discounts or free delivery or something else because I had a hard time understanding what she was saying. For all the money I spend in a year with Instacart, I would expect far better customer service than this!
Did you know that Instacart inflates the prices online when you order, and even if your shopper gets you a great deal, uses coupons etc, the customer doesn't see that savings!? Well it's true. They keep the difference. And then try to blame it on the store for mandating that the prices be high online.
The biggest fraudulent scam company that not only charges pretty high fees to begin with, and pays their shoppers pittance, but also skims off the top and charged customers a different price for groceries even if that's not the price that the company paid.
Do not use! Find a different service! They are capitalizing on the COVID pandemic and ripping people off.
My sister who is disabled, on a fixed income and cannot drive Is using Instacart. They charge her $30 to deliver her groceries. Items are often wrong, dates expired or damaged.
People are not friendly or polite.
Please do not use these people. They could care less!
Inferior run business!
I don't understand how a brand like Publix put their reputation on these hands! Incomplete order missing two items to start. First the talk you into a 14 days trial for free delivery, but they don't tell you they will charge $ 149 after the ending period, you can not cancel the free period, only when it expires you can cancel, so the charge you the money. They know people forget even though the send a reminder. So you have to be on top of this for days. Publix should not be part of these extremely low practice, at least for me, it just lost my loyalty for their brand. Shame on them.
I love the idea that I can have food delivered to my door, the person who delivered it did a good job and we could work out the kinks in time I can live with $145 a year for delivery and the service charge, that was workable. It was the tip, that pushes it over edge, its an optional 10% 20% no other option. But if there was another option it still pushes the price that extra inch over what Im willing to pay and feeling bad over not tipping will send me to do my own shopping. Bummer
Hmmm. It's a shame (and a bit scary) to read so many negative reviews. I just used Instacart for the first time and had no problems (as far as I know, although I will be going over my next bank statement to make sure they didn't charge me twice.) I don't mind paying a little extra for groceries because of the convenience. However, I gave it four stars instead of five because it appears they don't treat their employees well. A five percent default tip is ridiculous. The default tip should be 15%, the typical tip amount. I gave my shopper a 15% tip on your website and also gave her a couple of extra dollars when she arrived. Your workers need to make a living. Perhaps all the negative reviews are reflecting how you treat your shoppers, If you don't care, why should they?
I have been using Instacart since 2019 my advice is to STAY AWAY. They refuse to refund for missing items, expired items, cold/dairy items that arrive warm because shoppers do not use coolers (as promised in the app). We paid for the delivery membership and now they tack on a very high@$13 every order 'service fee' and they mark up the food items significantly! This company is ripping people off, its terrible. No customer service and if you go to the BBB and Consumer Affairs they have an F rating and thousands of complaints. They earned thier rating by ripping all of us off. I cancelled my 'membership' and will never ever order from them again.
Tip for consumers:
Instacart used to be a great service, over time they have jacked up prices, disconected thier phone number and refuse to refund for missing, expired or items that arrive warm due to sitting in back seats and trunks. This service is horrible!
I quickly received another email from a senior associate for credit restoration and correction. This shows that Instacart has committed to serve customers for long term. For this responsible conduct, Instacart earns its credit and recognition. For this "shared economy world", we need company like Instacart for a better livings. I will use them again. Thank you Instacart Team.
$19.19 worth of Carabou coffee not delivered but purchased. Have company showing up at my home in 1 hour. Called Instacart and yes, they refunded me $19.19 but then wanted to recharge me a $4.00 service fee, $7.99 delivery fee plus I have to pay someone else a tip. This is not cool. The last time this happened was $72.00 and was never refunded that amount when they said they would. They can't ever get a hold of the driver!
I have been using insta cart for awhile now and have had trouble in the past with them. They are the most unorganized, horrible customer service, and have NO listening skills. I had an order delivered today that had another shoppers stuff charged to my card. When I called they kept telling me it wasn't in my cart. No kidding! The shopper herself told me she billed someone else's groceries to my account. I will NEVER us insta cart again. Which means unless Kroger gets someone else I will not be using them for delivery either.
I've ordered from Instacart 8-9 times and have been very pleased. First, shoppers have been excellent. Bottom-line is if the shopper doesn't give a $#*! your order is going to be a mess. IMPORTANT: Your have option to to opt out of built in 10% charge before hitting purchase... this is an extra tip for shopper. Opt out on this and go over $35.00 and get free delivery. ALL GOOD. The other thing is all my orders have been between 8-15 items and that may play apart in the quality of service i've received.
I ordered for the first time at Instacart. The main reason was an item which was out of stock in the supermarket near my place. They just replaced this item by s.th. Which is completely different and much more expensive. Never again!
Why do they charge the 155.00 dollar membership during the free trial period? Doesn't seem like honest operating procedures. Then you cannot contact anyone about the problem or get a refund for the incorrect charge. I suppose I will have to contact my credit card company.
I've tried to get an issue with the total charge of my order being more than what I actually received by both phone AND email only to be told it's my "misunderstanding" of how to read a receipt. Absolutely no attempt to look into my problem to see if they could actually have made a mistake. I will tell everyone I know about my experience.
What an absolute nightmare! Out of my entire order - I must have gotten 5 items that were correct. They don't respond to emails - nor do they answer the chat or pick up the phone. Stay far far away! I cannot stress this anymore than I have!
Instacart do not care about customers. I am waiting for my order 10 days and I don't know, can I receive it or not. No any email, calls, impossible to call them, because waiting time more than 2 hours. I will not use this service anymore.
This happened to us with Instacart and our Costco order - delivery promised yesterday, message received advising order had been delivered, credit card charged yet nothing has been delivered. I've texted, phoned, even direct messaged on Twitter and all we've received are automated responses from Instacart advising that they're very busy these days. I'll be stopping payment on my credit card and never using Instacart again.
The amount of over-charge was described to me by AG employees as price gouging. No joke. I explained the fee, the service, the diff. Receipts, and the lady at the AG's office said, "sounds like price-gouging" with whats going on right now.
They delivered to the wrong house TWICE in one day. They left it outside some neighbor's house while I was sitting on my patio the whole time. This is only one instance. I've used them previously and one lady was trying to give me other people's order. Then she grabbed everything she had for mine and another order and I had to sit and sort thru other peoples groceries and mine. On another occasion one instacart person kept some of my items and gave me two other items or someone else's. I'm so tired of reporting them and calling customer support. The worst part is that none of them follow the directions as I've NEVER ONCE checked the box saying to leave my groceries outside. It's also 100 degrees here... guarantee nobody wants their milk and eggs sitting on their patio. I'm so disgusted with this company.
I checked my bank account for the debit before i tipped him $20 under the door, not having seen my groceries. I had already tipped online but wanted to be nice because delivery people are doing a hard job these days. So basically i paid $40 to have $55 worth of groceries delivered.
I know the inner workings of Instacart. First you will be charged upwards of $70 or more than you would if you had shopped yourself. We are told to tell you that it is the cost of doing business. Instacart is covered legally because a small disclosure on their site. If you choose a time there is not guarantee you will get it at that time. You might get it 2 hours late or not at all. I have seen orders left in the store, rescheduled and cancelled and by time the frustrated customer calls in there is nothing we can do because there is no one available to shop their order again. Often times the order sits in limbo and doesn't even gets assigned a shopper. When it does you might get one that doesn't speak or read English, leaves your order at someone else's home or makes replacements like replacing coffee with hot cocoa. Yes I have seen that. We are unable to appease our customers properly. It is a poor service that takes advantage of people that can not shop for themselves.
Got about 7 bags of groceries delivered to my door. Did not order nor do I use this service. Called to let them know somebody is missing their food and to let us know what we needed to do with it. Gentleman stated he could not tell me any information nor take my address because I did not have an account. Sounds like this company really cares about its customers.
In a rush? Don't use this service because you are just going to end up going back to the grocery store and redoing your entire shop. I have NEVER received the products that I ordered. As someone with dietary restrictions I need certain products and 100% of the time the delivery person is lazy and buys the first thing they see. 0/10!
The idea of Instacart is great, but they fail miserably in practice. I make one order of about fifty items per week. I've done this about twenty times now (yes, I keep hoping it will get better) but my shoppers usually find about half of the items I've ordered, and substitute or refund me for the other half. Sometimes they attempt to make substitutions that I can live with, sometimes they don't. Today, for instance, I ordered some parmesan cheese at $0.62 per ounce and she substituted a lower-quality cheese at $1.11 per ounce, but hey -- I need cheese!
1st mistake, Instacart is a third party, not affiliated with local grocery stores. Instagram double charged my credit card $210.00 for $83.00 actually spent. And I had 1 item missing that they charged me for. I ordered 43 items and they only delivered 20 items. Their prices they charge consumer are outrageous. They home up prices the actual sore prices are lower. What crooks! I will not use instacart again.
I had Instacart deliver from Costco and there were several items that were not available. I received my order with a receipt showing my total bill of $341 but was charged $504 by Instacart. I attempted to contact the number on their website and received a message stating they are not accepting calls. It was very difficult to find any additional contact information to report the problem. I finally found a way through my Costco login and order but Instacart's system doesn't allow you to type comments and all I received back was an email with a ticket number and no additional contact information. I am frustrated that I am being laid off from my job and was overcharged $163 and cannot make contact or receive a response. I am also concerned because their refund policy states that you need to contact Instacart immediately because they can only process refunds within 7 days.
