Sizes in knit tops have become totally unreliable. This season Medium has become the new Large...JJill has been my source for these tops for years...every thing from shoulder-to- Hip length, sleeves, neckline is now larger and looser The rounded hems are long and clingy. So disappointing. I give up.
Third time in past six months with online ordering. When I call to correct their issues, get bad attitude. Rudeness and lack of accountability. Excuses for J Jill lack of professionalism and honesty. Consistently overcharge, will not honor their sales promotions., will not refund promptly, the lists of their incompetence is too long for this review.
Every time I walk in to a JJill store, all the ladies working there are so very helpful and happy. They will get you different sizes or colors. I went in the Syracuse NY store and Patty V and Laura were amazing. They are jovial with each other and with the customers. You are happy going in there. They are fantastic. Can't wait to come back.

My best friend sent me a whole outfit from J. Jill and I looked like a homeless person with the whole set. So I returned it and requested a gift card and figured I could buy earrings and purses from the site in the future. Because their clothing is not my style at all. Instead they gave the refund to my friends credit card. I called them and after 2 days of researching they called and apologized because they admitted that it was their mistake. They promised to send me a gift card and they never did. So now I am out of a birthday present. I refuse to ask my friend about the refund so at this point I do not even trust she actually did get a refund.
Tip for consumers:
They are suppose to cater to women over 40 and I say it should be for homeless of every age. And I do not think so!

None~They never gave me the gift card ad they kept the merchandise
I have been a customer for over 20 years up until today. I've finally decided they are not up to date in quality nor style selection in merchandise. Shipping is slow (compared to competitors) and Customer Service is very poor, they will not accommodate you in any way.
You pay a lot of money for cheap clothing and the cost and wait for shipping is crazy. I am no longer a customer. For petite' and online shopping I recommend Macy's, Nordstrom, and Ann Taylor, they're great all around. NOT J. JILL
I will never ever shop at this store again. I hope they go out of business. Order online line so you you can use the US mail as a fitting room. Take it back to the store and wait in line for 24 minutes because only 1 person can do returns. Then 1 day past the 90 return and forget it. They know their merchandise is crap and don't want it back. I threw over $150.00 of their crap in the floor and walked out. They can have it. Or shove it where the sun does not shine. Back to Nordstrom.
I am a long time customer of J Jill. But in the recent time this store has done everything possible to earn my disrespect. It is quite shocking. They sent me a bill for $2.00 (I am not kidding) and I called them and their answer about the $2.00 was vague at best. (Not a late fee and I have paid on time every time.) I paid it but will never use their credit card again. Their store is cramped and small and it appears they do not care about their customers at all. Ugh. I have been happy with the clothes but the corporate policy is horrible.

I ordered a down coat. The coat was huge in size an inferior quality.
I returned using the pre printed return label.
They sent me a refund minus $15.00. They said I was charged for the original shipping and for the return shipping.
This is unheard of. Buyer beware! I will never ever shop there again and plan to tell this story on line any and everywhere I can. It feels like they stole $15.00 from me.
I ordered online pants that did not fit. I went into the store to exchange. They do not reimburse for shipping or tax. I would not recommend anyone buy from the store because they take your money. I am so disgusted with them right now. So out of a $75 gift cards I only spent $60 on merchandise. The rest of it was on shipping and taxes which I do not get a refund on.
I am not excited to go into any store, the designs are depressing, no shape, the colors, mushroom? Pale? Black, no life in colors. Petit sizes? They are not petit in width. I have started spending my money in other brands, sorry but you guys have to take seriously about your designers. They dont have common sense how real women should dress!
Used to live j Jill clothes are boring, boring colors, same year after year and don't listen to their customers. Shame a good company that has gone downhill. Hope they revamp and get better and more with times!
I opened a card and bought $200 worth of clothing. I then received a $25 off coupon thanking me for opening the card. It has an expiration date and can't use the coupon. They will do nothing to adjust this for me! Poor public relations!

Summer 2021 designs are positively ghastly! Hideous, dowdy, old-fashioned-looking prints! Drab, dull color palete, more appropriate for fall or winter than summer! Designs that are extremely matronly (tunics too long, pull-on pants for gardening or working on the farm--NOT the least bit chic, the entire line lacking in any style or pizazz whatsoever! If J Jill is to survive, they had best hire some new designers to create a collection of smart-looking traditional, basic, tailored styles that have some oomph, a look the brand was once known for!
I used to be able to get a decent shirt or substantial pima t-shirt from J Jill, but they have redesigned everything to be "flowy" flimsy and shapeless. Every single top is a long baggy tunic, even the basic t shirts. There is nothing I want at this store anymore. They are designing for 70 year olds. Very frumpy.
We appreciate your comments regarding our Perfect Pima Tees. J. Jill is committed to providing you with high quality merchandise, we regret it was not up to J. Jill's normal quality standards. We assure you that your concerns will be addressed to improve our merchandise in the future. We appreciate when our customers take the time to inform us of their experiences, both positive and otherwise. Thank you again.
I'm very disappointed in J. Jill now, and J. Jill clothes have been my go-to for years. The linen is now thin & cheap - not heavy and substantial. The fits are odd - giant armholes in plus sizes, shapeless tops, pants with hips to large. Lightweight sweaters are see-through - not everyone wants to wear camisoles under everything. Colors are mostly muddy.
Thinking J. Jill has lost sight of their customer base. Salespeople in the stores have told me that J. Jill is trying for a millennial customer base and that is a huge mistake. You can't do both. Older women have the money to spend so stay true to your existing customer base. If you are trying to compete with Ann Taylor Loft, etc, you will lose.
I have been shopping at J Jill for decades... casual styles that can be dressed up or down and a bohemian look in some of their tops.
Then they got a new designer and I can't find anything good to say about their clothes. He makes the most unflattering clothes from tops to dresses to pants. The colors are too vibrant, the dresses look like sacks. I have essentially stopped shopping there and hope they get a better designer before his contract runs out. From the looks at others' reviews, this store is going to close soon! I am so disappointed with what JJill Has done to their unique style of clothes
There's rarely anything I look good in. The store used to have beautiful things but no longer. Returns aren't free and the place didn't open until 12(!) today, a Tuesday, and if you are doing a return, they don't credit you at the price you paid for it, like Nordstrom does. I won't be back.
I received a gift in the wrong size and called customer service to see how to correct. Oh my gosh! What abysmal service! I was offered: buy the right size now online (with your money) and wait until the item restocks in 3 weeks to get it. Meanwhile, return the one you have to the store for a store credit. Does that solution make sense to ANYONE?
I politely suggested that, if he had engaged his brain to find me a solution, this would not be it. Sheesh! Just don't shop here, people.
I've been a Jjill shopper for about 30 years. I've always thought their clothes are stylish and well fitting, as well as well made. The staff at the stores I've shopped in are always very pleasant and helpful. Their sizing is pretty inconsistent, even when ordering by their measurement chart. My biggest complaint is with the credit card. I don't do any online banking. I pay my bill the day I receive it, always in full. The last two times, they claimed not to have received my payment in time, and charged me a past due fee of $30. When I called them, they offered a one time forgiveness of that fee. The second time this happened, I was told that my payment was not received, so I went into the store, paid it in person, and then had my son look up on his computer, and he found that the payment had been received twice. I still enjoy shopping there, but don't go there much because I don't always have the funds to buy without credit. I will no longer charge anything there.
In the 1990s, I bought most of my clothing at J. Jill. It was artistic and of high quality, an it fit me well. I still have a skirt and a cashmere sweater from that era, and they both look almost never worn. Desperate find decent petite clothing, I went back recently. Like so much other clothing these days, it's crap. I have never had a piece of clothing go bad after one washing. The shirt from the Wherever collection did just that. The inside material is white, while the outside is a pattern on black. The white from the underside bled through onto the front, so that the front is covered in something like lint, and the shirt looks like it's been washed 50 times. I do have one other shell from J. Jill and that seems fine, but you have to be very careful there. The original price of the shirt was $59 and then they marked it down, which so many retailers these days do. The prices as marked are always fake. The shirt is probably only worth $12 if that. Too bad.
Not happy with rude and incompetent sales staff and manager will never shop at that store again. Love their clothes so will only shop on line. If you want a credit card from them they want name address email phone dob and ssi number I refuse to give out all that information to a retail store or anyone else for that matter.
Not happy with the durability of some fabrics such as sweaters. I also am disappointed in the ponte pants. The waist band no longer exists. Ordered withe confidence in the past quality. Disappointed. Looking for other source.

I have shopped at JJill for over 30 years, primarily through catalog. I was excited to see a store open in our community.
The women that work here are horrible.
For example, I walked in today and was "greeted" with "do you want something?"
Nothing else said, no one else in store... understand why?!?!
I normally buy online from JJill. I recently had to return a purchase because of the wrong fit. I was not greeted with a smile. In fact, the person that did my return was rude as if she didn't want to take my return at all. I worked in retail. So, I know how things are done. Her rudeness cost JJill my business. Please teach your sales reps to do better with giving the best customer service.

The "New" collection released today is the same old black and white and now a little red. What happened to all the colors? The colors they do have looked washed out. I am saving so much money that I usually spend there. Even have a $100 Christmas gift card with a $60 balance. Usually, I spend the gift cards right away. Telling everyone not to give me a Jjill gift card for my upcoming birthday. Guess I'll try Ann Taylor.

Don't like the new color selection and the style changes. Their colors for this summer seem to be black, brown, dark green and white, with a few, very few other colors. I live in Texas, you don't wear black down here in the summer. Really, you don't wear dark colors down here in the summer, it's too hot! Also, the linen pants that I regularly bought several pairs of each year have gone away and been replaced by other styles that don't really fit. I understand if they want to update their styles for a younger clientele but don't forget about the older customers who also buy clothes from you. Keep some of the older styles and also have the trendier styles. Haven't bought any pants from them this summer and only two tops. Normally, I buy a lot more than that. Guess I'll just save my money!
Today 4/13 I drove an hour one way to shop at the Peachtree City store. I needed clothing for two graduations and Mothers Day, two associates were standing at the register having a discussion about religion and the price of airline tickets, not once did they acknowledge me being in the store, not once was I offered help. This used to be a favorite store, but I will never spend a penny there. I went to other stores and bought my clothing, everyone at Talbots was very helpful.
Made one purchase on this card in November 2017. Have spent over $150 in late fee charges and monthly nonuse charges. When I called in to pay balance one month was told there would be an additional $9 fee to do this by phone. Opted to do it online- didn't realize that although I paid bill by due date- it took 2 days to post and I was once again charged a late fee. Customer service reps were rude and condescending.
