I would not recommend purchasing online from this store. An order arrived three weeks later than expected and after two phone calls to the office. It seems the clothes run large, i returned a down puffer vest for exchange and regret doing so. It has been over month and no sign of the replacement nor confirmation email of the exchange. The customer rep behaved as if it were my fault for the delay, maybe he was having a hard day, either way this was not a pleasant experience. Will not be shopping here again.
Worked for a good manager. The staff was very influenced by one of the Meanest Woman I ever met, certain employees do whatever they want! Rules are all over the board. I was told in the beginning by a seasoned staff member to offer "sale prices" to everyone. Do not lose a sale. When you have an immature " woman" who chose to continue to harass me no matter how much I tried to explain the " horrific situation". I am sure they won't post this, due to the Truth never wants to be exposed. It will affect the business eventually.
I tried to order a pair of shoes online and struggled with their system. Today, I called and spoke to a extremely rude customer service individual to ask why my order was an issue only to find out that they don't give discounts on name brand shoes. I've ordered many, many things over the years from J. Jill and have recently notice that the items I receive are no longer of good quality. J. Jill doesn't reward long time loyal customers with discounts. I will no longer do business with them. Their styles are the same and lack originality. Poor customer service! I'll take my business elsewhere thank you.
I have been buying J. Jill clothes for 20 plus years. I still have some of those first purchases. The quality has gone downhill in a big way. The sizing is also quite inconsistent now. Please bring back the quality!
I have been a customer of Jjill since the early 90's. They use to have very few patterns and very good quality material. It reminded me of Eileen Fisher. Now it reminds me of an older women's store like Anthony's and now a days Talbots. I believe Jjill is owned by same company. Anyway, I wish they would learn by the clothes that get left behind each season and stop making those hideous pattens. No one under 70 should wear red, black, and white patterned anything.
Very disappointed to see that all customer reviews of JJill clothing have disappeared from their site, overnight, it seems. Those used to be deal makers or deal breakers for me when deciding on an item, especially when it came to sizing. This decision by JJill to remove them makes one suspicious of their real motives.
As their customer of 20 years I continue to consider them quite unique, but I have to agree with other customers who complain about their brand slowly eroding. I also used to be very fond of their jackets - anything from linen to silk, to tweed - but now they hardly ever offer any of those.
Sizes in knit tops have become totally unreliable. This season Medium has become the new Large...JJill has been my source for these tops for years...every thing from shoulder-to-
Hip length, sleeves, neckline is now larger and looser The rounded hems
are long and clingy. So disappointing. I give up.
I have shopped here for 20 years. My secret for great looks and fit it go into the store and try on the item. That is the only way you will know if it fits and looks great on you. I walk through the store, sit in the outfit, bend over and check all the fabric details. I certainly can't tell any of this by looking at a picture. There is a reason why pictures are labeled "fashion porn".
If you go in and on the clothes you will have a great outfit that suits you to a "T:
Now that I'm retired, I pick and choose my purchases according to budget.
Let it be said I still have a walk-in closet only full of current J. Jill clothing. No, I do not have a relative or friend sneaking me a "heads up" on sales or discounts.
Though let it be said:
My previous working life, the price of J. Jill clothing was secondary to maintaining and continuing to be an example of proper business casual attire. It was absolutely imperative, in my position, to look well put together. Because of my petite size and particular body habitus (under 5' and 10+ lbs over the average model size) J. Jill brand was consistently my "Go To".
I AM a verified buyer for over 20 years as my account with J. Jill can substantiate.
Went to return an online item. #1 saleswoman told me she was involved with a sale, sent me to #2 saleswoman. #1 continued to talk with me (loudly) suggesting that I shop the sale while #2 worked on my return. #1 never shut up. She was waiting on 2 middle aged sisters and mom. While they paid, they continued shopping and trying on clothes. Very chaotic! #1 continued talking loudly, even when they wern't paying attention. Meanwhile #2 asked for my telephone number 4x's and put my card through 3x's. #1 had to come over and help. Should have stayed to help, but her customers were spending. My return took 15 minutes and I left right after. #2 finally addressed me and apologized when she heard my irritation. Couldn't wait to get out.
Mayfair shopping center 11:30am 4/26 Friday Wilmington NC
Yesterday at Friday, May 28,8:30 pm I placed an order. At 9:39 pm, May 28, I received an order confirmation and was advised I would receive an shipping. Confirmation "soon". Have not received one yet.
I called today May 29 at 6:30 pm to cancel the order (less than 24 hours since I placed the original order).
Apparently it is impossible to stop shipment since it has left New Hampshire. Where it will go from there I have no idea.
Only know deliver date is June 8th. Customer service mgr said "Oh, sometimes they ship earlier…"
-This is very deceptive. I only wish I had read reviews before ordering. My mistake!
-Only 2.5 stars out of 5.
-Out of 74 reviews 22% were poor and a whopping 49% were just flat out bad. NEVER AGAIN.
I have really tried to like the clothes, but every time I buy something, it either looks terrible after washing, or the sizing is off. I have tried on a size small in the store, which was a little small, then ordered a medium online, which was huge. I have returned so many things because of these issues. They are also poorly made ( I sew so I know what it should look like). Their prices are ridiculously high for the quality. I also bought 2 different ponchos online this week, but returned them both because I could barely get them over my head.
Very disappointed!

I love J. Jill clothes, I have had a very good experience shopping in their brick & mortar shops, but returning purchases online is ridiculous! They wait at least 3 weeks to get and apply your return, then you have to wait until the next billing cycle to get the return. If you don't want a credit, which I don't, I want my money returned, then you're waiting probably upwards of 7 weeks. I won't be ordering online from them any more. (And by the way, I found "Carolyn" the service rep to be condescending.)
I have been a customer for over 20 years up until today. I've finally decided they are not up to date in quality nor style selection in merchandise. Shipping is slow (compared to competitors) and Customer Service is very poor, they will not accommodate you in any way.
You pay a lot of money for cheap clothing and the cost and wait for shipping is crazy. I am no longer a customer. For petite' and online shopping I recommend Macy's, Nordstrom, and Ann Taylor, they're great all around. NOT J. JILL
I used to be able to buy career clothes from J Jill which would keep looking good all day. Not any longer. Poor quality clothes don't look good for a professional office. Styles are being made for younger shoppers and this is not Whois buying J Jill. Please wake up and get a different designer!
I will never ever shop at this store again. I hope they go out of business. Order online line so you you can use the US mail as a fitting room. Take it back to the store and wait in line for 24 minutes because only 1 person can do returns. Then 1 day past the 90 return and forget it. They know their merchandise is crap and don't want it back. I threw over $150.00 of their crap in the floor and walked out. They can have it. Or shove it where the sun does not shine. Back to Nordstrom.

I am a long time customer of J Jill. But in the recent time this store has done everything possible to earn my disrespect. It is quite shocking. They sent me a bill for $2.00 (I am not kidding) and I called them and their answer about the $2.00 was vague at best. (Not a late fee and I have paid on time every time.) I paid it but will never use their credit card again. Their store is cramped and small and it appears they do not care about their customers at all. Ugh. I have been happy with the clothes but the corporate policy is horrible.
I ordered a down coat. The coat was huge in size an inferior quality.
I returned using the pre printed return label.
They sent me a refund minus $15.00. They said I was charged for the original shipping and for the return shipping.
This is unheard of. Buyer beware! I will never ever shop there again and plan to tell this story on line any and everywhere I can. It feels like they stole $15.00 from me.
I ordered online pants that did not fit. I went into the store to exchange. They do not reimburse for shipping or tax. I would not recommend anyone buy from the store because they take your money. I am so disgusted with them right now. So out of a $75 gift cards I only spent $60 on merchandise. The rest of it was on shipping and taxes which I do not get a refund on.
I am not excited to go into any store, the designs are depressing, no shape, the colors, mushroom? Pale? Black, no life in colors. Petit sizes? They are not petit in width. I have started spending my money in other brands, sorry but you guys have to take seriously about your designers. They dont have common sense how real women should dress!
Answer: That is not a question, just a rant. This is Q&A only.
Answer: Well, Phillip, because women (and men?) keep wearing their clothes. You complain but you keep buying. What incentive do you give them to change?! Whose fault is it now?
