I knew its was a busy season so I tried to be patient. Checked their shipping and processing information and patiently waited. Days went by. Days turned into weeks. I emailed joanns customer service. Received an automated response telling me they'd get back in 48 hours. TWO WEEKS go by. No contact. I email again. Nothing again. I ask to be escalated because this is ridiculous. Of course I get one baby response "I'll check on this and escalate to a manger" No management contact. I wait again. 2 days shy of waiting a full month after placing my order and they CANCEL my order. No sewing machine for me. No contact for resolution. Just a big F U from Joanns. I used to shop at joanns semi regular but I'll never step foot into another Joanns again. $#*! service. $#*! company. What a waste of time and space. As someone who works in customer service, I'm appalled at the poor practices, probably because Joanns isn't paying enough nor do they have enough employees. Slave labor but nothing to show for it. I don't know how anyone in this company sleeps at night. Y'all couldn't pay me to shop here. One week to Christmas and all I get is disappointment. I hope others read reviews online before purchasing cause I made the mistake of not doing so. Apparently the only way to get a response from Joanns is to go to the better business bureau. What a joke.

I sewed 4 pillow covers for my daughter's new sofa with Joann's Nile Quilted Velvet fabric and filled them with Joann's 20" pillows. I am very pleased they turned out beautifully and soft.
This review will mostly be on reference to yarn and holiday items. I've had terrible online ordering experiences more than once recently. The first really bad experience was my entire order getting cancelled with absolutely no notification it had been. I had to call and ask customer service what was happening and was told it was a very rare system glitch. I then was required to go through my order online and I had to tell them what I wanted to reorder and what was listed as out of stock online now. As the customer that seems like it was completely not my kob, but I did it because I really wanted some of those items. My next horrible experience was ordering a bunch of items during a sale. More than two weeks later my entire order (minus just a few items that have either shipped or were cancelled, again with no notice) is still pending. Customer service was exactly zero help too. I'm also disappointed that it seems they are stocking less and less in store and only have certain brands available online. With the laggy, glitchy website being my only option most of the time it's really not worth it anymore. Spend your money elsewhere. Joanns doesn't care anymore.
Very shady business practices for such a big company. My local store was having a liquidation/moving sale where much of the store was listed at an additional 25% on top of their current "sales". The additional 25% of signs clearly stated that sales were marked as final. I spent upwards of $250 in store, believing this to be a great sale where I could apply my coupon for 20% entire purchase of in store and regular priced items. When I got home and checked my recieot, I found that the discount only took off $8, when it should've been $50. I called the store and found that the coupon doesn't apply to anything in the 25% off liquidation sale, which I believe should have been clearly stated to customers... not only that, but I'm unable to return anything now. If the coupon says it applies to sale items, of course the customer is going to assume that it will apply to the additional 25% off. I was a regular customer of Joann but I will never be returning. It's very obvious that they dont care about their customers.
This company hasnt the slightest idea of what customer service is. Their staff are all rude. They clearly take the lead from the manager. I cant believe the annoyed tone they take to their paying customers in. They wont honor the coupons. I complained to customer service at corporate level three times. Kept getting the automated we will be back to you no later than 48 hours nonsense. Then i received an email to my third complaint stating they replied already and it must have gone to spam folder. As if i was too stupid to look there before contacting them again. So i replied i did not receive a response and to please cut and paste to me. No reply except another automated email telling me to contact customer service if i still needed help. Why should this company receive anyone's hard earned dollars. Look at the string if customer complaints. I woukd be horrified and embarrassed if i was the head of their customer service dept. their coupons are a joke. Dont shop at this vendor. They dont deserve your support

I traveled 1 hr from where I live to go to what I thought was a reputable sewing store, joann's, to buy a sewing machine. Their store price match, return and refund policies are NOT CUSTOMER FRIENDLY. If you need a refund of what you paid cash for of anything over $100, you have to wait 2 weeks for a check. They won't give you your original form of payment back if it was cash. They DON'T MATCH THEIR ONLINE PRICE. I could have saved $68 if I ordered online what I bought in person. They would rather pay for shipping of a heavy sewing machine than to match the price in person which cost me gas money and my time. And if you want to return an unopened box with your receipt, you have to pay a $25 restocking fee. Everyone else beats these drawbacks such as Walmart, Amazon and target. They don't charge restocking fee and they price match.
This company is ill run and antiquated. I will never buy another thing from them again. Awful customer service. Brick wall to try to get through to someone with common sense. Just all around a lousy experience. Go anywhere else to shop!
The store I go to always looks like they are going out of business with endcaps with just one item and shelves that are completely empty. Finding someone on the floor to help you never happens. Most people who work at the register there are moody and there typically is a long wait to get rung up. Their return policy is a pain. And then there is their website. It is slow, and has a non-functioning search engine and often won't display a picture of an item you are interested in. Going back and forth between items and lists requires many clicks and their shipping is extremely slow. Be prepared to wait for your item at least 2 weeks. Their prices are often above the suggested retail price so that when you use a 50% off coupon you are really getting more of a 20% to 30% off price. When looking at scrapbook stuff you find that they only carry items that are at least 6 months old. Also if you live on the West Coast and are putting in a sale around 9:00pm you might find that coupons and special shipping rate disappear due to the three hour time difference with where there office is located. If there is a way I can avoid buying at Joann I will. Luckily there are competitors who offer better selection, better service and often better prices.
I have never written a review before but I want to warn others of the sales practices used by JoAnn's and their online scam posing as a store! I ordered 12 skeins of yarn online because the local store did not have enough of the same color to complete a project and I wanted the same dye lot. I used Paypal for the order and have since paid for the yarn via credit card, but NEVER received confirmation of a delivery date from JoAnn's. In checking on the order I got a Tracking Number from Fed Ex but through checking with it the only information I could find was that the shipment information was sent but no product has been sent to be delivered. Tried calling the online customer service telephone number and it is bogus. It consistently sends you to another site that attempts to sell me other products. When I called the local store for help, the salesperson refused saying that since I ordered it online they could not help me at all even with an Order Number, nor would she give me a useful telephone number to contact the main office for help. This is the worst service I have ever experienced with any store and after over two weeks of waiting, I feel JoAnn's has simply stolen my money and has no intention of delivering my purchase. I would not recommend this store to anyone.
I ordered 3 yards of a fabric in order to make a skirt. When it arrived, I found a tiny note on the receipt stating that they only had 2 yards left and so my bill was changed accordingly. How enraging! Why wouldn't they so much as send me an email to ask if I still wanted it? At least then my response would have been temporary disappointment, rather than feeling taken advantage of by a company who fails to understand the needs of their clients. I cannot make the skirt I intended and now they will most likely charge me to go through the hassle (not to mention additional cost of shipping materials) to return the fabric, that they could have sold to someone else under honest conditions and had a happy customer. Instead I was charged for something I did not ask for, did not consent to be charged for, and they didn't bother to tell me or ask if I still wanted it.
In addition, a separate part of my order has now been lost and delayed in shipping THREE separate times. It was supposed to arrive Thursday, then Saturday, then Monday/today (last day within the expected time frame), and it still isn't in the hands of USPS.
I have emailed them (their Contact Us form does not work) detailing my experience as well as asking for a refund for my shipping charges.
I needed to return a portion of a special order. The manager, Joyce Dunn, store 2172 Columbia SC, persevered and made it happen to take care of my return. I was extremely pleased and appreciative.

JoAnn is not a friendly store for shop at home. You must buy two yards of fabric and most fabric is not available for shipping. What's the point of selling on-line?
I received notification that my "store pickup" order was ready on 8/21. I notified Joann store in Brandywine, Maryland that I was on my way via the Joann app on my cell phone; gave them the car description and color. I arrived and parked in the designated pickup area by 7:07PM --- and I waited for 10 minutes. Finally, I saw someone else go to the store door and leave. They told me THE STORE WAS CLOSED!
You cannot trust this store to be open when they're supposed to be open. I drove to the store for absolutely nothing, and I still do not have my purchased items.
This company cannot be contacted at all. They charged me for an order i did not receive and they do not acknowledge my emails and i cannot return merchandise. I call it theft.
Ordered items online on the JOANN, pay close attention to which store would have the items 'in store'. Received a reply on the next day, that some items that were in store were not available anymore, but that the rest of my order was ready for pick-up. When I checked the store that had the items (28 miles from my house, as opposed to my usual store that is only 3 miles from my house), the store would be open on Saturday. After I drive to the store I notice signs on the door stating that 'curb side pick up not available'. I double check the app to see that the stores hours have changed to only being open a couple of days per week, with very limited hours.
Additionally, if I do not pick up my order in three days, it will be automatically cancelled, I am a nurse, and am not off until late next week, so I guess my order will now be cancelled because I will not be able to pick it up tomorrow or the day after; a. Because the store is not open and b, when the store is open, I am scheduled to work. Poor, very poor customer service and follow through.
Answer: I feel the exact same way. They cancelled an order I placed online and they never contacted me to tell me the order was canceled. I waited three weeks for an email to come pick up an item. I could have had this item 3 weeks ago from Michaels craft store. JoAnn's sucks!
Answer: Don't order anything from Joann. Go to a flea market or Hobby Lobby who gets your order correct and treats you by the Golden Rule. Joann is terrible and I am still waiting for a refund wherein they charged my account twice for the same order. Run!
Answer: Joann online are thieves and liars. We all need to get together to file a class action lawsuit against them for charging customers twice for the same order and then shipping wrong merchandise. This isn't an innocent mistake... it is planned. The only way to stop them is via a class action lawsuit.
Answer: Depending on which Joann store take your order. The reps are so untrained and very incapable of handling a simple online order at the Menomonee Falls Wisconsin location. They will cancel your order without your knowledge and when u call, they will tell u it will be ready by the close of business. It's, not ready than and when u call back they will say, it will be ready the next day. In all reality they messed up on purpose. ONLY IN MENOMONEE FALLS WI have I always experienced this type of treatment
