I had a terrible experience with Kogan's Marketplace Resolutions team and their handling of a failed delivery. The courier refused to deliver my parcel, repeatedly lied about its status, and then left it at a pharmacy without my consent. Despite my complaints, Kogan refuses to take responsibility and is now trying to claim that I have cancelled the order—which is completely false. I have clearly stated that if the order is not delivered to my home by the date I provided, I will need to purchase the item elsewhere.
Rather than ensuring my order is properly delivered, Kogan is trying to shift the responsibility onto me, claiming I am liable for return fees and non-refundable shipping costs. This is an unfair tactic to avoid accountability for a failed delivery. Their policies seem designed to protect sellers and couriers while leaving buyers stuck with lost or mishandled orders.
If you value reliability and good customer service, I strongly advise against purchasing through Kogan Marketplace. Their so-called "resolutions team" does nothing to resolve issues and instead punishes customers for courier failures. Buyer beware!
Warning to All Buyers Planning to Purchase Mobile Phones from Kogan
I would like to warn potential buyers about an issue I encountered when purchasing a mobile phone from Kogan. Most of the phones they sell are not compatible with Australian networks, particularly following the recent 3G shutdown that took place a few months ago. I bought a phone from Kogan during the last Black Friday sale, and unfortunately, the phone cannot pick up any signal from Telstra or Optus. Essentially, I cannot use the phone in Australia at all.
When I reached out to Kogan about this issue, they completely ignored me and claimed it was not their problem. I have now escalated the matter to Consumer Affairs Victoria, and I intend to pursue the issue further.
Under the Australian Consumer Law (Consumer Act 2010, Sections 54 and 55), goods must be fit for the purpose for which they are purchased. In my case, the phone is literally useless for the intended purpose, which is to be used with an Australian mobile network.
If you are considering buying a phone from Kogan, I strongly recommend checking its compatibility with local networks before making a purchase.
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE SCAMERS!
Ordered product 18th Nov - took my money - haven't heard anything since - They will not reply to any correspondence - I wish I had read reviews before purchase. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE!
Kogan, Kogan, what a plight,
A trick you played, late one night.
I sought a game, a gift to share,
Yet found deceit laid lurking there.
I never shop within your walls,
For often your service falls.
This time I thought, just one quick buy,
Yet you charged me on the sly.
A membership I didn't seek,
One twenty-nine, it left me weak.
Your tactics low, your cunning deep,
In fine print hidden, shadows creep.
Careful am I, with eyes so sharp,
Yet still, you struck with your dark art.
A gift of joy, now tinged with spite,
As Kogan's scheme comes into light.
Why this trick, this lowly game,
To charge a fee, bring buyer's shame?
Undo this wrong, make it right,
Restore the trust, lost in the night.
Received faulty Bose headphones 3 weeks ago. Have contacted customer care 3 times now. Every time I receive an automated reply stating they've received my request and someone will be in touch. Still waiting for them to get in touch…
I have bought lights from them and they sent me faulty one. I asked for refund or exchange and they have ignored my emails after sending 100 of emails to follow up and still nothing. Today I found out without my permission they reorder those $#*!ty product which I asked for refund again without my permission and charge me again for them. They are totally scam. Never ever buy anything from those thieves.
Deserve Zero stars! Worst for online shopping! Terrible customer service, they just don't care except to take your money. Misleading claims and poor communication. Any company that doesn't provide a number to call when things go wrong is dodgy! The automated email responses are frustrating & every excuse is made to get out of honoring a discount or even free delivery. Don't waste your money. They remove all negative feedback from social media too. Dodgy practices!
Do not ever purchase a kogan product if you require any help at all.
All enquiries are routed through emails.
Their actual help line is so overwhelmed by people desperate to contact ANY human it hangs up on you (it tells you it's overwhelmed)
I have a kogan phone number that I needed assistance with overseas.
Forget it.! 4 days of emails... No reply apart from giving me an acknowledgement.
More than $100 in overseas calls trying to talk to anyone. Nadda!
Their website constantly directs you in circles. Their the self check in of products, you have to do EVERYTHING yourself.
Never again!
Cancelling my service and finding some humans who actually give service
Just reading below and yes I have been hit with the ridicilous $99 membership. If I want to be a member I will tick a box not have the company do it for me so I get hoodwinked. I am in the process of going through fair trading. We all need to do this or even get an interested solicitor to do a class action as it all seems highly illegal. It may only be $99 but just imagine how much these a holes have made from this.
FRAUDE! Misleading by advertising wrong product and sending different product. Kogan is responsible, too.
Worst seller according to my personal experience and reviews on other websites! Seller claims they are selling Artiss Office Chair Computer Desk Gaming Chairs and put all photos of this item while has sent me different product which is totally different from what they are advertising on their page on kogan. Immediate refund is needed!
I purchase an item listed as 'excellent' from Kogan, with the option of return on change of mind with in 14 days. The item is far from excellent, have features not working. On my attempt to return, they never respond to my email, and had no other option of contact.
Recommend not to get anywhere close to Kogan... Anything by the name of Kogan.
OffersI have email communicatipn from kogan for 50% discount on yearly subscription and thier team cannot fulfill the offer subscribed before end date. Kogan charged full amount and not taking any action to refund full or processing 50% discoynt. RIP OFF.
We purchased a childrens kitchen. My wife didn't notice that you have to un-tick some small print at the checkout. You then get a trial for their (unwanted) First Membership scheme and 14 days later if you havent cancelled (which you wont if you didnt realise you had accepted) you will see a charge of $99 on your card. They make it super hard to contact them and we will now contact Fair Trading NSW. BTW this scheme won a "Shonky Award " from Choice. They have our $99 but will never have our custom again.
Bought an Advwin Rabbit Hutch Chicken Coop Large Run Cage 204*35*85cm (Brown) recently and bought a Samsung phone few years back from Kogan. Both are so bad left me fuming and hoping the government should shut these dodgy companies down. Paid $700 for a "new" phone that is clearly refurbished and resold - I should have learnt. Then paid $130 recently for a hutch made of cheap wood and chicken wire that can be easily bend. I would rather throw that money into the bin than giving the business to this company. No more to Kogan, you twat!
Got caught by one of their "free" membership offers. Debited $15 every month without any merit. Product description says you can apply your membership for free shipping but then you get charged anyway. Dodgy as scam.
First time I was purchasing with them. On checkout, there is a small box I accidentally ticked which somehow signed me up to some ridiculous postage scam which they were accessing my bank account monthly without notice! Then it was difficult to cancel and I can't remove my credit card details from their site! Not worth the hassle! Absolute rip off!
Pre-Ordered Dining chairs in August 2020 which were due for delivery on the 6th of October. Have chased these up several times and have been given conflicting information about when they will be despatched. Was advised today that these would not be sent until 26/12/2020 despite having paid for these on the 16/08/2020. The customer support is automated and there is no way to talk to anyone. The information provided by the online system is wrong and scripted - I have received the same response multiple times (with different delivery dates inserted). Beware of Kogan - they don't have the systems or processes to provide adequate customer support if something goes wrong. Use Temple and Webster who are great and provide exceptional customer service - if you're buying a TV go to Jb Hi Fi
Ordered a power board from one of there marketplace sellers and they sent me the wrong one, 6 weeks later after dozens of email, being lied to and palmed of there finally sending a envelope so I can send it back. Let me make this clear, you for not get support with Kogan, they operate as if Fair Trade rules don't apply, very predatory business.
Kogan sent me a faulty BOSE QC 45 headphones with mic that does not work. I have run through the automated process of returning the item and got the automated response "Thanks for contacting the Kogan.com Help Desk. This is just a quick email to let you know that we have received your enquiry. For reference, your ticket number is *******". I don't receive any other emails in my inbox or spam. Triggered this process 4 times now and received 4 automated emails with no follow up over a week period. Im going to have to go the legal route now. They are trying to avoid there responsibility by law. I'll follow up with the next steps I follow so others can copy as they must do this to everyone.
Hi just be careful if you are thinking of buying anything from them. You buy something and somewhere in the fine print there is a automatic membership charge of $99 per year automatically deducted from your bank account
Answer: Not only rubbish customer service, they won't give you a refund if your product doesn't arrive. - Check these out - https://www.accc.gov.au/media-release/kogan-in-court-for-alleged-false-or-misleading-discount-advertisements https://www.choice.com.au/shopping/consumer-rights-and-advice/your-rights/articles/kogan-returns-and-refunds-issues I learnt the hard way so save your safe the time and stress and go elsewhere.
Answer: Stay away from Kogan - I think you have by default signed up for some crap Kogan First Club - if you didn't unsubscibe within 14 days, they then hit you with a membership fee
Answer: No they just say they will get back to you eventually but they never do
