I tried to set up an appointment for my blood work at Labcorp Staten Island location.
Called their number. Their message just said if you need an appointment go to their website. No other options. What about people who does not have a computer? Anyway, I have one.
Well, their site does not work! OK, it happens, so I called their general number. Told the guy this story. His answer - if you don't know how to make an appointment - go without one. Wow! I really don't remember talking to somebody that rude!

Don't trust their billing. They took 4 months to complete my claim and expected payment immediately even though they took my credit card information the day of my lab visit. I have a primary and secondary insurance. My primary pays 90% of lab work. The secondary pays 100%. With that said, LabCorp should have only received the remaining 10%, yet they were paid 100% of their contracted rate from both insurers. Plus, my primary paid them the remaining 10% that I would have owed, so I had no balance, yet they continued to send me a bill 4 months later, trying to squeeze what they can out of me. The were paid immediately by the insurers, by the way. Is this why insurance rates are so high because places like this are collecting twice? They say they will retract the claim, but I want to see proof. I don't have this issue with Quest. This was my first experience with LabCorp and last. I do not recommend them to anyone.

What's the delay?
October 12, 2023

It's been 4 days since a loved one did a drug test. Why is it taking so long to get the results? I've had drug tests before and it took 24 hours. Did you loose the sample?
Do you realize that some patients can't get refills on medications until the results come in? Do you realize how much suffering you're causing by being so slow? What recourse do we have to get results tomorrow so that prescriptions can be filled before the weekend?

This is a very unprofessional company. I was told 2-3 days when I got tested. I called on day 4 and they said they were behind and it may take up to a week. On day 8 I called, and their response was that "there is NO time table for results." I asked what does that mean, could it take 2 weeks. Her response was "yes, and maybe longer."

That is unacceptable and unprofessional. Would never use them again. I would rate 0 stars if possible, but you MUST choose at least 1 star.

Test results should take two days, but this place no response even after one week. Impossible to talk to customer service, and when you get a human agent, you will be talking to rude unprofessional one!

Corrupt
April 26, 2020

Very expensive tests showed no problem. Got antibiotics anyway, and my digestive infection went away. The tests were done poorly, and I never personally received a report, only the PA's interpretation.

Poor customer service
March 26, 2021

Made an appointment online, when I checked in I was informed by a nurse that their computers were out of order for few last days and that their telephone didn't work either. So they sent me to another location. I was waiting in line for 30 minutes. When I finally got to the receptionist I got treated with very unfriendly customer service.

On the website it says they only take 1.5 inches of hair as per the law, the technician took over 6 inches of hair in a 2" square off the top of my head, leaving me with a giant bald spot. So not only did they take an extremely large portion of hair they did not even follow protocol to make sure 90 days worth of hair was tested. It was more like a year.

Full price
December 19, 2018

I had yearly blood work done and since my insurance does not cover Wellness Exams, Labcorp will not give me the in-network pricing even though they are in-network. They are billing me $869 instead of $76. They also no longer are allowing the insurance company to show the in-network price so you don't know what it should have been.

Staff are wonderful
August 31, 2022

I use Labcorp in the building behind Wesley hospital that is located on the A level.
Stacy and Tina not only are very good at drawing blood but give the best customer service. My physician order was not ready when I arrive at 8:00 am and I had to leave Stacy took the time to call me when the order arrived later in the day. Tina on my first visit explained the check in process in a way that was easy to understand.
I will continue to use this location because of these two outstanding employees.

Money mongers!
May 18, 2023

My insurance refused to pay for my son's blood tests. When I spoke to the representative from
Labcorp they informed me that though they do have special rates for the uninsured patients they works with, they would not offer us those rates. So essentially they bank on the likelihood that insurance won't cover the service to take advantage of the situation financially. If insurance won't cover it, would you not offer the lower rates to help out your customers? This business is about making money not making a difference.

Billing Scams
August 14, 2018

Blood test done by doctor, contacted insurance and the lab work is 100% covered yet they sent me a bill anyhow. They billed insurance and then tried to bully me into paying more--scam of a company. Congress needs to step in on this ( unless they are all getting a cut.)

Rude people
September 8, 2017

Went to Lab Corp in NY-Woman at desk barely picked her head up to tell me to sign in-i signed in and being i was never there before I waited for her to acknowledge me which she didn't. I sat down-she called people ahead of me-fine -maybe they had an appointment. THEN they required a credit card to charge for any money not paid by my insurance. NO WAY was i authorizing an amount to be charged to my account when I didn't even know what it was yet. I walked out. Never heard of such a thing.

Just bad.
October 17, 2018

From the office staff to the patient portal where you're supposed to be able to see your test results, everything was just bad. I emailed them on not even being able to log on to their patient results site and after about 4-5 days I get a response that said I'd need to fill out a form and fax it to them with a govt issued ID to have them do it. Really? About 20 years behind the times in technology. Office was also understaffed as the person that checks you in also does the blood draw. Not their fault but this created a long wait for everyone and this doesn't seem like rocket science to have a receptionist as you'd be able to serve way more customers.

Driven by greed.
April 21, 2023

$600 for standard blood work. Gotta love it. The insurance company already takes hundreds from my check before I ever see it, then I pay my copay to the doctor, and I'm still stuck with a bill. I don't have any issues, I don't have any prescriptions. There is only 1 reason that it cost $600 to get blood drawn. GREED. It's a great racket they have going. They get paid from the insurance and then a bonus from the patient. They don't care about people they care about profits. If you can avoid them please do so cause they are just a legal scam service.

Went in for a pre employment screening and the receptionist didn't acknowledge me for several minutes because she was busy finishing something on her personal phone.

Apparently labcorp needs you to make a specific timed appointment for a UA. Even though this was setup by the hiring company. I just went back to the hiring company and informed them of this issue, so they just lost a handful of business.

First off I must say that your employees do not give accurate instructions for specific tests. Had to have a 24 hour urine cortisol test and was given barely any instructions. Had to call another lab just to get information. Secondly, you have terrible turnover times for lab work. I have been waiting for over a week for results. ALL of my patient information is correct and still my Dr has NO RESULTS

There was only one person in the facility, checking patients in as well as taking the specimens at the Lake Mary, FL location. It took forever for the person to check me in and even longer for him to take the specimen. There is a Quest Diagnostics next door which seemed to be well staffed and seeing patients much faster.

Memorial Medical Care referred me to these people
I left a message to check my authorization, but they never called back. They are impossible to contact over the phone. Im going to ask my Dr. if she can refer me elsewhere. If customer service is this bad, I imagine their labs services are bad too.

Rude Employees
June 24, 2022

I went to the LabCorp located in Huntington, NY. Terri was the employee working and she was extremely rude to not only myself but other patients as well. As someone who works in the medical field, her actions were completely unacceptable and unethical. This is the first and last time I will be using LabCorp to get my tests done.
