Purchased the Steelcase Leap V2 in black fabric after doing extensive research on ergonomic chairs. Chose this over the Herman Miller Aeron, and don't regret it. Madison seating has probably the best deals online, and shipping was pretty quick as well. Our chair did come damage due to shipping unfortunately, however I reached out to their customer service team and they were quick to respond and handle the matter easily. Would definitely purchase from them again, great customer service!
I bought a Steelcase Leap v2 from Madison Seating last week. When it arrived I assembled it and put it in my office to use the next day for work. It is so uncomfortable compared to a 5 year old RETAIL version of the Steelcase leap v2 that my girlfriend owns. The refurbishment was very poorly done, chair wobbles, lumbar is bad, cushions are hard, material is cheap and rough. The lumbar support is so intense and using the adjustment just makes it worse (I compared the lumbar support to the exact same chair model my girlfriend has). You can visibly see the lumbar support pushing on the back rest and distorting it. The fabric is very rough and the cushions are no where near as comfortable as the RETAIL version of the chair. I reached out to Madison Seating customer service and after a few canned responses they finally said "Please return the chair and find another vendor to furnish your office chair needs."

I bought a amia chair from them for my birthday at the end of may 2024. These chairs are supposed to come with a 10 year warranty. When I recieved the chair i immediately start to feel a pain but i figured i was sitting in the chair wrong. So I let alot of time pass by trying to adjust the settings and add cushion to the seat. We're now 3 months later in august, which is too late for them to even assist me and finding out whats wrong with the cushion they sent. I tried to reach out to customer service and they said they're sorry theres nothing they can do because its past the 30 days.
I just bought the chair from them they took $300 from me and refuse to help at all despite saying their chair has a 10 year warranty. Come to find out with some online research its actually a common occurance for them to send out defective products and try to stick you with it. I wouldn't buy anything from them ever again.
Tip for consumers:
BEWARE SCAM COMPANY!!!! GOOGLE THEM FOR YOURSELF! CHECK REDDIT! THEY SCAMMED ME AND MANY OTHERS!!!

Ordered a Herman Miller and it was delivered with a small hole in the seating. So I called and asked if they could give me a replacement. They said no, imperfections are why they are discounted. I accepted that reasoning and fix the chair myself, left them a 5 star review on ebay. Fast forward to now and I am looking to buy another office chair and they have blocked me from buying from them!? I was told if you ever return anything that you are banned from buying again, but I never returned anything. Way to do business!
Tip for consumers:
If you buy from them never question anything or you are not allowed to buy from them ever again.

I purchase a steelcase chair from them and it was advertised as open box. But I received a steelcase chair with very poor condition which were used like 6-7 years. Chair legs were rusted on most of the places and they tried to paint it to cover the rust and it was still visible. It came in a regular box, Not its original box. Its a overused very old chairs in many years. They describe it as a New - OPEN BOX. And I returned it back but never received my money back. Then I submitted dispute through my credit card company. After a month their customer service called yelling at me on the phone and threatened me about the sending to court. Its a joke company. Waste of time and Money.
Tip for consumers:
Their customer service were very bad, there was a lady who was very rude

Buyer Beware! Pls read the 1-star reviews before your purchase. This company has a very unscrupulous business model, whereby they ship a defective chair, ask for a false positive review in exchange for shipping a "free" replacement which turns out to be a different model. Then they want the customer to pay for return shipping and a restocking fee for their discrepant shipment. Madison Seating clearly does not stand behind their "100% Customer Satisfaction" claim. Thankfully, my credit card company agreed with the facts and credited me for the entire purchase. It was an exhaustive experience that I don't wish upon anyone.
Tip for consumers:
They only pay 1-way shipping, then expect the customer to pay the return shipping AND a restocking fee for a discrepant shipment.

NONE! Had to donate the wrong chair they shipped to me.
Madison Seating has a great selection of products. They have fast shipping, and excellent customer service. Had an issue with the product I received - they responded within hours and worked with me on the best solution, providing several options. Would order from them again.

If you buy from them on eBay they claim to have a 30 day, hassle free guarantee. Well good luck because if you try to ship anything back the customer service department gets all petty and acts like it's coming out of their pocket. Shipped my chairs back at their expense (thanks eBay) and they only partially refunded my orders, stating the chairs were now in 'used condition'! So they took about $250 from my refund. Crooks, liars, scam artists

We purchased a couple of chairs from Madisonseating at a significant savings (I believe during their sale the purchase price was 85% off retail) and the experience overall was positive. I will agree with an alternate reviewer that their in-stock status was inaccurate, but when I reached out for a status update they gave me an updated time frame and offered to cancel my order if the updated timing removed our interest. Once the chairs did arrive (delayed, but then everything we've been ordering has been) the chairs seemed new or very near new. One of the chairs did start showing some issues within a month, and the support team responded with options within 24 hours. I will be ordering from them again in the future.
Tip for consumers:
Call to confirm shipping time if you need something quickly, but otherwise the experience and received product were very good.

I recently ordered an office chair through Madison Seating. As I searched different websites, I found their pricing to be extremely competitive. Once I ordered, I was updated regularly by email. The chair arrived, but FedEx during the shipment had beat up the box pretty badly affecting the chair. I took pictures and contacted service. They responded quickly and offered a great solution. My replacement chair order is in process. Thank you Madison customer service. Nice job!

I purchased a Haworth Improv HE chair from Madison seating because they had the most competitive pricing. The chair shipped quickly and the company kept us informed throughout the process. The chair arrived quickly. The appearance was in perfect condition but unfortunately, it did not function properly. I notified customer service and they quickly responded by offering to send a replacement at no further cost if I posted a review. We are appreciative of their accommodating customer service and would order from them again.
We purchased more than a dozen Herman Miller chairs from this company over the last several months, and all but one were perfect. We sent a picture and video of the defective chair (which was wobbly and squeaked when none of the others did) and requested a replacement. This is the email we received in response:
You are welcome to return the chair but it will be for refund only.
We will be unable to fulfill any future orders as we have confirmed this chair is working correctly.
Returns
Who does that? Need to order more chairs and will purchase them somewhere else.
Tip for consumers:
Customer service was unbelievable rude as you can see from the attached email

we ordered and kept all of the chairs, but could not exchange the defective one and it was not worth shipping it back for a refund.
I have been using a cheaper chair for many months, which eventually started hurting my back from sitting all day working at home. I decided to upgrade to a nice chair and was very excited to buy the chair I ordered from Madison Seating since I was able to get it "open box" at such a great deal. The chair unfortunately didn't come in the best condition and seemed to suffer a few damages in transportation. However, I contacted customer support and they responded promptly and were able to resolve the problem quickly. I'm happy with my experience!
Tip for consumers:
Note when items say open box they may not be in 100% condition but they should be in great condition and not have upholstery or functionality defects.

Please beware that "open box" means scratch and dent. Madison Seating buries this information in the fine print of their page long conditions page. Also beware of the hefty restocking fees of $150. And, then there's the cost to ship the product back. In my case two chairs would cost $540. That's two thirds the price of the chairs. But of course the photo shown on the website is of a perfect chair with absolutely no scratches or snags. Buyer beware. Buyer go elsewhere.
Their website is inaccurate regarding what items are in stock. Their customer service is rude and and unable to provide useful information. I would have gladly either waited for them to fulfill my order and been willing to pay more for a comparable product but their customer service acts like they're doing you a personal favor by assisting with a sale. They make it really hard to give them money in exchange for a product - bad business.
Tip for consumers:
Don’t do it

Tried to purchase a chair.
Previous purchase history had always been great until this most recent attempt. After receipt of 2 incorrect sized chairs, returns & ultimate refund we went with another company. MadisonSeating's responsiveness was not as prompt as I would have liked & they made assumptions that I was wrong with my claims.
Ordered on 29 August. As of 9 September, it said "ship ready" and would not be arriving soon. The original quote of 14 business days was a bit long, but more than that - forget it. How can you stay in business when you take 10 days just to get stuff "ready" to ship?
Sent what looked like a refurbished chair, with no notice of that on the site when I ordered. Pieces were scratched, and generally looked to be in "used" condition. The cost to send it back is so prohibitive, its not worth it (assuming thats what they bank on). Beyond this, I received a bill for advancement fees and duty from fedex (this is fine, I accept this, and paid it in full) but then two months later, I received another unauthorized charge from madison seating for over 60$. They said that FedEx told them to charge me that fee for additional customs entrance.
Talked to customer service a few times over the phone and email, and they did nothing for me.
I ordered 12 office chairs, 6 of on style and 6 of another, spending almost $6k. They all came damaged, plastic peeling off, missing parts, and no instructions. When I contacted Madison Seating (many times) their customer service is horrible and they will not help you, at all. Please do not give this company anymore business!
Tip for consumers:
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM MADISON SEATING!

I had to keep all the chairs because I got no response from customer service to address the issues.
Purchased herman miller chair from them, shipping is late after 14 days of payment. Called to cancel but still shipped. Turned out the lumbar support is defective. Then they refuse to return. Sent pics and videos to show defective part, first they say nobody uses lumbar support, then they say no evidence of defects. Extremely rude customer service. Finally sent me a fedex return label without pickup service and warn me have to drop off within 24 hours otherwise pay full price. NEVER BUY FROM THEM
The guarantee says you can return an item for a full refund if not completely satisfied which they did when they sent me a defective chair (they sell used, demo chairs, reconditioned chairs). HOWEVER then they back ball you from all future purchases. Here is there email back to me after they confirmed a new order I placed and paid for.
Our records indicate you purchased and then insisted on returning item(s) stating the chairs were incorrect. The product came back exactly as what was advertised and we lost on shipping charges for the return.
We prefer not to fulfill any future orders with you as you seem to have an issue with our products and services.

Stay far far away from this retailer they send you defective items and want you to keep it even though its defective. Buy from a authorized dealer that stands behind the product. If you don't believe me read all the other complaints.
It is interesting to note that the consumer came back to us to place new orders. If our product and services were as bad as his review states, why is the customer insisting on placing new orders with our company?
Readers. You decide on this one.
Ordered a Herman Miller chair from the website. Not anywhere on the site does it mention the condition of the chair, zero mention that they are all refurbished. That is exactly what they were sued for a couple years back. After emailing customer service and explaining our dissatisfaction we received a nasty email back ending with "your satisfaction is extremely important to us." This is a scam of a company and they fully know what they are doing. Do not buy anything from this company. Chair was only kept due to the restocking fees and process being too much of a hassle.
Piling on the inventory and non communication issues, I ordered a chair, waited 14 business days, and asked politely for an update. At least, unlike some here, I got an honest answer on the first try. They told me the promo I purchased under allowed me to purchase the wrong thing, they didn't really have it, but they had this other one in a different size, different features, and a different color. At no time in the intervening three weeks did I get any notification whatsoever, and I assume I never would have.
A previous user said it best: "smells like the inside of a fiesta on a used car lot". When I got my "open box" leap it reeked of a chemical cocktail. It's been three weeks and the smell still hasn't subsided. On the other hand if you enjoy sniffing chemicals for pleasure, this won't be an issue for you.
This customer received his shipment months ago and reported no complaints on the quality of the chair. He recently got billed for duty charges from Fedex as his shipment crossed the U. S Canadian border. All our Canadian customers are aware they would be responsible for duty and custom charges. G. R. Insisted we pay his taxes or he would write this review. We feel it would be ethically and morally wrong to give in to his demands in attempt to have us pay his import tax. The customer received a great price on a brand name chair that arrived in excellent condition.
