Purchased the Steelcase Leap V2 in black fabric after doing extensive research on ergonomic chairs. Chose this over the Herman Miller Aeron, and don't regret it. Madison seating has probably the best deals online, and shipping was pretty quick as well. Our chair did come damage due to shipping unfortunately, however I reached out to their customer service team and they were quick to respond and handle the matter easily. Would definitely purchase from them again, great customer service!
I bought a Steelcase Leap v2 from Madison Seating last week. When it arrived I assembled it and put it in my office to use the next day for work. It is so uncomfortable compared to a 5 year old RETAIL version of the Steelcase leap v2 that my girlfriend owns. The refurbishment was very poorly done, chair wobbles, lumbar is bad, cushions are hard, material is cheap and rough. The lumbar support is so intense and using the adjustment just makes it worse (I compared the lumbar support to the exact same chair model my girlfriend has). You can visibly see the lumbar support pushing on the back rest and distorting it. The fabric is very rough and the cushions are no where near as comfortable as the RETAIL version of the chair. I reached out to Madison Seating customer service and after a few canned responses they finally said "Please return the chair and find another vendor to furnish your office chair needs."
After having an issue with the armrest of my chair I decided to look into how to take it off to take a picture of the damage for the warranty. In doing so I found out I have the leap chair V1 when I purchased the leap chair V2. While scrolling through reviews I see this is common because many people think they have the V2 when in fact the have a V1 chair. So madisonseating is selling the V2's and delivering V1's to unsuspecting customers. I brought this up during my email exchange for my warranty issue and they stated this needs to be noticed within 30 days. So even though they state a lengthy warranty if you don't notice you were lied to within 30 days than oh well gotcha! Yeah no thanks madisonseating. DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS TERRIBLE COMPANY.

Leap chair V2 is what I was sold. Leap chair V1 is what I recieved.
I would give zero stars if I could. I ordered a chair that was $700, open box. Upon receipt of the chair, it was defective. The settings for height and recline would not lock, thus I could not keep the chair in a position that supported my ergonomic needs. Upon return, Madison required that I ship the chair back paying for least expensive shipping route. I sent in the receipts for the shipping because it was almost $170 just to return ship via UPS ground (I shopped around). Madison Seating's response to my request for reimbursement was:
"The novelty with Madisonseating.com is that we sell brand name ergonomic office chairs for practically half the retail price and include free shipping. This way customers that normally cannot afford an ergonomic chair, can buy one at a more reasonable price.
With these prices and free shipping, we are unable to offer free returns. We do not reimburse for the return shipping costs under our 30 day return policy."
I will never do business with this company again. I was punished for broken furniture as the customer and in this economy, I don't just have $170 to throw away when I have a family to feed. I'll continue going to the other LARGE online retailer who knows that customer service is what makes people return. This was the worst customer service ever!
Tip for consumers:
Beware - if the product is defective, you are liable for expensive return shipping fees.

I returned the Aeron chair I purchased.
Several years ago I bought a refurbished Herman Miller Aeron chair from Madison at a great price, and
It's been a great chair since. A few months ago, after I had to relocate my office to my home on account of the pandemic, I ordered a Herman Miller Caper multitask chair which has also been great until last week, when the pull to raise and lower the seat stopped working. I immediately wrote Madison to ask for advice, and they immediately wrote back and offered to replace the chair. You can't find better, more responsive service than this!
Six months after I bought a Herman Miller Aeron chair from Madison Seating, the gas cylinder on the height adjustment leaked. Contacted Madison Seating for warranty service and they said they would only service it if I sent it back across the country to New Jersey (I'm in California) at my expense, and pay $90 more for shipping it back. Can you imagine trying to package a fully assembled Aeron chair for shipping? I asked if they could send me a new gas cylinder and let me hire someone to install it. They would only do that if I paid for the cylinder. I also found out that they are not an authorized Herman Miller seller, so Herman Miller won't honor the warrantee. To top it off, they told me that the "new" chair I thought I purchased was actually an "Open Box" item. The tech I hired to actually fix the chair told me that it was an old model of the chair -- thumbwheels to adjust the arms rather than levers that are on the new models. I will never buy anything from Madison Seating.
Worst company I have ever dealt with. They sell Herman Miller chairs online but I later found out that they're not an authorized dealer. In fact they sold me a damaged/refurbished chair instead of a new one. When I finally got them to take it back, they refused to give me a refund until I rescinded my complaint on the web. Now I'm out over $1000 including shipping. I'm filing a formal complaint with the NY State Attorney General and the BBB. STAY AWAY FROM THEM.
I went to a retail store to purchase a nursery chair, and I found out that it would take 10-14 weeks for any chair I ordered to be delivered! I was shocked. So, I went online to see if I could find the chair we were hoping to purchase, which was the Dutailer Sleigh Glider-Multiposition Recliner. As a bonus, the chair was also sold with the matching ottoman, AND it was over $100 less than what we would have paid for in the store for just the chair. But wait, there's more... it shipped in less than a week. Everything arrived on time and was pretty easy to assemble. There was one little part that was torn on the foot stool, but nothing that was worth sending back. It was a terrific find and I'm happy to have this chair to enjoy when our little one arrives!
Extremely happy with my purchase, the service team promptly responded my questions, order status were timely communicated, and super fast shipping, item was properly packaged arrived intact
What a nice shopping experience, my order from eBay came quickly and I can definitely recommend this company. Very responsive and efficient customer service

Do not use this company! It has been over a month since I ordered my chair. They have now sent me the wrong chair 2 times. Their customer service is the worst!
Stay away!
Chair matched the description perfect. Shipping was prompt and chair was very easy to assemble. We will be ordering more chairs from Madison as our needs increase. Thanks for a great experience!
As another reviewer mentioned, I received a few chairs that were damaged during shipment. I contacted Madison seating, and they are arranging to have replacement chairs sent at no additional cost.
Would not recommend. Our interaction with their staff was abysmal. They were unprofessional and would cancel orders without notice or adequate reasoning
By way of background, Madison Seating first screwed up an order I placed back in 2015. Their customer service rep (CSR) emailed me after that, to promise a discount or expedited shipping on 'any future order.' This month (January 2020), I placed an order with them for a new Herman Miller Aeron chair. I referenced that prior promise, and a CSR on the phone assured me they would honor this promise, and then the company followed up in writing with the promise of expedited shipping (not a discount). In reliance on this promise, I placed my order. But then they swiftly wrote to me, reneging on this promise, saying they won't expedite delivery... or do anything else as a make-good. The order is now cancelled. I cannot in good conscience recommend doing business with an organization that makes a written promise to a repeat customer twice, and then breaches that agreement and denies any further responsibility. My suggestion to you: find another online seller for your business furniture needs. I do not consider this company ethical, trustworthy or responsible. Nor are their "sale" prices astoundingly better than other sellers, at least not enough to justify the leap of faith necessary to count on them to follow through.
Tip for consumers:
What I've posted in my review. If a Madison Seating representative makes you a promise, even in writing, view it skeptically.

None. Order was cancelled before shipping.
Quality is not good as they advertise.
And very rude and arrogant attitude on customer service.
This is the worst shopping experience in my entire life!
Be aware!
This review was written by a Madisonseating competitor that cannot beat our incredible prices!
Be sure to read Madison Seating's return/exchange policy before you buy. They have a hefty re-stocking fee. And not only do you have to pay for your own return shipping, but you also have to pay for the original shipping charge, if you do a return. Also, as I read it, the manufacturer's warranty doesn't apply. Madison Seating has its own warranty of only one year. So be very sure of your purchase before you actually buy it. I received my office chair missing a caster. They said they will send me one, so I hope they do... But if I had known that their "customer satisfaction guarantee" came with such high costs, I would have purchased from the actual product site so I could have the manufacturer's warranty and the guarantee of return or exchange shipping included. Also, there were no assembly instructions, and, though it was easy to figure out, I thought there should be instructions. And there were no instructions about adjusting the chair. Also no shipping or purchase receipt inside or outside the box.
Tip for consumers:
Read the return and exchange and warranty policy before you buy. Sometimes it is worth it to pay more to get the original manufacturer's warranty and guarantee of free return shipping. Plus there were holes in our box and a missing caster on the chair, and no instructions for how to adjust the chair, and no shipping invoice.

The chairs were as described. The descriptions were a little confusing so I had to call customer service for some clarification. The CSR was helpful and assisted me in completing my order.
Last December (2020), I purchased from Madison Seating a "Leap V2" chair (manufactured by Steelcase). The chair was purchased online and delivered to my apartment in New York City, two weeks later. Initially, the chair appeared in good condition (clean and easy to assemble). Unfortunately, however, as soon as the chair was assembled, I noticed that one of the chair's structural joints was broken: on the left-side of the chair, the plastic joint where a metal screw connects the actual seat to the back-rest was "snapped" (see attached photograph). I reached-out to Madison Seating's sales and customer support teams by e-mail, and one their members (Annie) immediately replied to me, offering to send me a replacement chair at no cost (and offering me to keep the broken chair). Given the relatively high cost of this chair (and the logistical hurdles that would have been involved with returning such a large item by any carrier), I was very relieved to receive such offer. This is great customer service (prompt reply and honest business policies). I look forward to receive the new chair (and then update this review accordingly).

Very quick to respond to emails and calls to address any questions and concerns I had. I would highly recommend this company if you want high quality chairs for a low price.

First of all they did not deliver on time. Second, the chair was extremely poor quality, the adjustment mechanism broke down after three weeks use. I've tried to get this product replaced or repaired, or claim 30 days money guarantee Madison Seating offers. They replied there is no warranty, there is no money back, I cannot replace the chair because "I was supposed to file a claim immediately with the carrier when it arrived". When I unpacked the chair it seemed ok, but it did not last more than 3 weeks. They either sold me extremely poor quality product or the one with latent defect and they did not want to find a solution for the problem. They do not reply to my emails on time, they promise on the phone they would come back with some solution or at least the answer the next day. They never do. I had to send numerous reminders so they could finally reply that I am not entitled to get the money back, or replacing the item even when it doesn't work after 3 weeks of normal use. Very bad customer service, very bad quality product for approx $200 price."
I've bought over 15 chairs from these guys over the year. I'll be buying more soon. 3 years after I bought chairs they took care of warranty issues with two of them! That's good customer service!
Madisonseating is a scam! They are not selling you what they promise and their customer service process is a hassle. There is no satisfaction guarantee and they make it a huge deal to try and return anything. Also I had to PAY FOR MY OWN RETURN. Shipping is thus not free and you DO NOT get a 100% money back guarantee. I ordered an Aeron chair that was supposedly open box, but it was heavily damaged and used, painted over and the seal for the height adjustment had been replaced at least once. They made me prove that it was damaged with pictures and written documentation. Online retailers that are legitimate do not require this for a return in 30 days or less. Madison seating is NOT LICENSED as a distributor for herman miller for a reason. STAY AWAY from madison seating!
My chair was delivered exactly when promised and for an excellent price; when I had a problem with assembly, customer service told me exactly what I needed to know. I will use them again.
Purchased 2 Steelcase Leap V2 chairs. One showed up damaged and they are shipping a new one out. Good thus far, I'll confirm how the replacement chair looks once received.
Purchased a Steelcase Leap chair in March. It saw very little use until this month when my wife started using it while teaching at home. The pneumatic lifter is broken, and gradually lowers when you sit in it until it is at its lowest level. We were told they would repair it if we sent the entire chair back, and paid an additional $75 shipping to send it back to us... that's about $125 round trip for an under-warranty repair. Contacted Steelcase and they identify Madisonseating as a grey market reseller, frequently reselling used items as new or misrepresenting older models as new. The series of emails I had with them can only be described as hostile on their part, with no solution being offered that didn't wind up costing us significantly. In addition, the warranty on their site states "All items sold as new will include a (1) year warranty from the manufacturer directly." This is patently not true, as we discovered when we approached Steelcase. They are NOT licensed resellers and cannot offer this warranty. We will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. Buying from them is NOT recommended.
I would rate zero stars if it were possible. I paid $700.00 for an "open box" Leap V2 chair and received a used, broken (seat adjustment lever broken off) chair that was covered in some type of orange film and improperly packaged. There were gouge marks all over the bottom of the seat where it looked like someone used a screwdriver (repeatedly) to try and remove the seat bottom. Any damage that was done to this chair in shipment was obviously caused by their poor packaging and I let UPS know this after the company filed a bogus damage claim with UPS! I sent the chair back and was told they would send a check instead of issuing a credit to my charge card. If I wanted an immediate credit, it would be less the 3% fee that Amex charged them to use my card! Amex didn't agree with that, obviously and they are now investigating this company's practices. Totally rude, unprofessional staff who argue instead or resolving issues. I wish I would have done more research before buying from this company as there are a TON of negative reviews online. It appears at least 40% of the people who do business with them are unsatisfied. Looks like the site with the greatest percentage of good reviews is theirs. Go figure! Do yourself a favor and spend more money for a new chair with a factory warranty. There is a big difference between "open box" and USED. Steelcase and all of their dealers ship for free.
The reviewer bought a chair from us several years ago that broke under his care. This review is not based on a recent purchase but rather a warranty matter.
