Purchased the Steelcase Leap V2 in black fabric after doing extensive research on ergonomic chairs. Chose this over the Herman Miller Aeron, and don't regret it. Madison seating has probably the best deals online, and shipping was pretty quick as well. Our chair did come damage due to shipping unfortunately, however I reached out to their customer service team and they were quick to respond and handle the matter easily. Would definitely purchase from them again, great customer service!
I bought a Steelcase Leap v2 from Madison Seating last week. When it arrived I assembled it and put it in my office to use the next day for work. It is so uncomfortable compared to a 5 year old RETAIL version of the Steelcase leap v2 that my girlfriend owns. The refurbishment was very poorly done, chair wobbles, lumbar is bad, cushions are hard, material is cheap and rough. The lumbar support is so intense and using the adjustment just makes it worse (I compared the lumbar support to the exact same chair model my girlfriend has). You can visibly see the lumbar support pushing on the back rest and distorting it. The fabric is very rough and the cushions are no where near as comfortable as the RETAIL version of the chair. I reached out to Madison Seating customer service and after a few canned responses they finally said "Please return the chair and find another vendor to furnish your office chair needs."
I received a damaged chair, but Madison Seating's customer service team shipped a replacement chair to resolve the issue.
OK, bought a couch and two chairs online specified I was available only on mondays and saturdays for delivery and to be contacted during business hours. They attempted to deliver my living room set with just an email for notice and did not pay attention to my statements that said I could only be contacted on mondays/saturdays. They then cancelled my order and marked my account as fraudulant, wich almost got my credit card cancelled. When I called madison seating the lady i spoke with was a B----H she told me that she was in sales not customer service, I would have to call there customer service line and I would have to stay home from work on the day they choose to deliver my furniture if I wanted it. When I told her I was shocked and I asked for her name she laughed commented she was in sales, I was not going to make her money and they were closing (at 3; 11 in the afternoon) So I called back nope, they were open untill 5; 00. Irf I had her name, I would have her job, I've never been treated worse in my life. In an economy like this I can't beleive they are still in business and I can't beleive that woman I spoke with is still employed. I ordered the set off a different web site for $600 more, a garunteed delivery date and time, Frankly I am looking over my credit card statements to make sure the didn't steal my information! Worse company EVER! Don't even look at their web site!
Updating review from my previous review- no restocking fees were charged for cancelled items. No issues with ordering.
I love my new chair. My favorite part about the chair is that the arms move in and out so I can get closer to my desk and key board.
I had an issue with a chair I ordered making a noise and they were very responsive and quick to ship me a replacement. Very pleased with transaction.
This company should not be allowed to operate in this country.
Terrible and unprofessional people.
Please avoid this company!
I could not believe I got such a great chair, a genuine Herman Miller chair for such a great price. Now my back is no longer sore.
The freedom chair is very comfortable and the customer service is really good, they solve problems very fast and professional.
We've purchased many chairs from Madison Seating. Only had one problem and they solved it right away.
Our company exclusively uses MadisonSeating to purchase our office chairs. We love the chairs and the prices!
Item not delivered. Representative on the line not helpful. Didnt get money back given inconvenience.
Tip for consumers:
Avoid. Company made false promises and do not deliver on time. Upon claim they refuse to help and return 100% of the money. Representatives are rude.

My credit card got hacked and they did a great job at working with me - really appreciate the customer service!
Fast delivery, easy ordering, quality product. Have bought a number of office chairs from Madison Seating-- happy with their service.
Aeron Chair was shipped quickly, delivered as expected, almost new condition. Big savings over a new Aeron, glad I purchased with Madison Seating!
I had originally posted on here back in January.
I had posted that I liked my two chairs and that I thought the price was great, but that when I had done my research I was worried after some of the reviews I had found.
It took two weeks for my chairs to show up, The chairs squeaked a bit, but I explained that for the price I was totally OK with that, everything else was "like-new". Overall I thought that it was a good experience and I was glad that I had made the purchase.
Two weeks later the chairs got a discount for 25$ cheaper than I had paid, and I had sent an email about getting a price match, I recieved a reply that that it would be a possibility and that they would check and let me know.
My next reply was that I could not get a price match due to my negative review, I did not see my review as negative, I thought it was honest and primarily positive.
That was when Madison Seating got wind of my review and started calling me, my review was "not worded to their liking and I had to change it", or send the chairs back so they could "correct any problems". It took two weeks from ordering to get my chair, I was not going to send it back and be without my chairs because of a squeak.
After I refused to send the chairs back, I got called again, then again, then by the sales woman's manager.
He said that my review was causing issues and being brought up in their weekly meeting, asked if he could make it right and I could take my review down.
I agreed to remove my review, if they would just agree to my original price match request, that I had no problems with the purchase and that I thought the review was honest and positive, he agreed, I took my reviews down.
That was a few months ago, and as soon as I took my reviews down, I never heard another word.
I never did believe the 5 star ratings on any of the sites, it was all 5 star ratings, or 1/2 star ratings with almost nothing in between. Realize that that is because they harass the people who leave low ratings until they get what they want. I just wonder how many people they got what they wanted from and then did not hold up their end of the bargain.
They sent me a defective chair and took no responsibility for it. They would not send a return label. Poor costumer service and poor quality chair.
This review is completely inaccurate. The buyer purchased a chair and did not assemble the item correctly. We sent numerous emails with clear instructions on how to assemble and use the chair. An item is not rendered defective if one refuses to do the assembly. The buyer was provided with an RMA to return.
This furniture website is TOTAL SCAM! NEVER EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM! Not professional, treating their customers like... i even don't have words to describe it. I'll tell you why. The 90% of my shopping that is online shopping. And bying in madisonseating.com that was the WORST EXPERIENCE in my entire life! I ordered a leather sofa from Madisonseating about two weeks ago they told me that i will get my order in 10 bussines days. Yesterday i called to confirm my delivery and to verify that the items I wanted were in stock. Because i'm not living at this house it's my summer house and I need to go there to meet delivery guy. Lady that answer the phone was completely RUDE. I was told that my order was NOT IN STOCK. THEY CANCEL MY DELIVERY AND NEVER LET ME KNOW ABOUT THIS! They never called me to let me know... If i wouldn't check my email i never found out about cancelation! So i losing more than two week's time, which was very critical to me. Because i was buying this sofa for my kids that they would have place to sleep while we are in our summer house. They ruined my plans for this summer. Such a web site doesn't have right to sell online at all.
We absolutely love our Mirra chair purchased from Madison Seating. They have excellent customer service and fast shipping. A+
Ordered the "Leap Chair V2" by Steelcase which arrived damaged unfortunately, but Madison Seating provided great customer service and sent a replacement free of charge.
While I was on hold to speak to a Madison Seating sales rep, a recorded message extolled their "No Hassle, Easy Return Sales Policy" so I felt super confident buying a side table from them.
When the table arrived, it didn't work for the spot we planned to use it, so I called to arrange returning the item and was told that I needed to email, not call, in order to do that. This seemed odd but made more sense after I'd emailed and was immediately sent the company's Terms of Use stating: "A credit for the purchase price of the item will be issued, less the 30% restocking fee, plus the initial shipping cost."
This meant that of the $105.73 I spent, I'd receive a final refund of $19.02, or less than 20% the costs being $66.71 for 30% restocking and initial shipping, minus $20 postage to ship the table back. In other words, it cost me around $90 to return a $105 item using Madison Seating's "No Hassle, Easy Return Sales Policy".
I called to complain today and was told that I'd clicked a Terms of Use Agreement when purchasing the table, and had been sent the additional Terms of Use email after I initiated the return, so legally Madison Seating were covered.
I acknowledge that this was my fault as I should have read the initial Agreement more closely (perhaps I'm complacent after clicking Agree on too many Apple updates) but I also feel it's misleading to have a "No Hassle, Easy Return Sales Policy" when in fact, Madison Seating's return policy is far more stringent than any other furniture stores I've dealt with, and I've dealt with a lot.
The upshot is that, even though this company is not literally deceiving anyone, I'm coming away from the experience feeling deceived.
I bought a herman miller aeron chair and decided to splurge on adding attachments they had available at checkout on on August 5th, 2021.
I received a confirmation email from Madison Seating saying:
"The estimated delivery time frame for all in stock items is 10-14 business days from the order date. Should the item selected not be in stock, you will receive an email notification. The FedEx tracking information will be emailed to you prior to shipment so you will know the exact date of delivery."
This was the only email received so I assumed my item was in stock and would be receiving the chair in 10-14 days.
13 days from the purchase I heard nothing from them about the shipping details of my order so I reached out to get the estimated time of arrival of my chair. They responded with another email stating I should wait 10-14 days and it had only been 13 days... Nice.
I reached back out to them 21 days (August 26th) after purchase date with a requested update. They then respond telling me how COVID has really affected their business and that they hope my family is safe and well (I don't care to discuss my family's health to a chair warehousing business. I'd much rather discuss my $600 purchase that is no where to be found). Also in the email they told me if should be shipping early to mid September. Ambiguous. Love it.
Four days later, I am charge the full $600 amount for the chair with 0 shipping details. I am actually notified by my bank that I was charged - not by the company. Seems legit. I reach out asking what is the status as I was just charged the full amount. Their response:
"You were charged as the stock was allocated to your order and the chair is being worked on.
With limited staff working and holidays closures all of next week, we estimate the delivery to be around mid September.
Do you wish to cancel and be refunded?
Sarina"
It is now September 28th, nearly 2 months of back and fourth emails with ambiguous shipping dates from them.
TL; DR
Madison Seating is a headache and I would HIGHLY recommend just buying the real deal instead of trying to get a second hand Herman Miller chair. VERY unimpressive operation they have going on!
Tip for consumers:
They might have the item you want but they also might not - you're taking a gamble if you choose to purchase from Madison Seating! Buyer beware!

The review conveniently forgot to to mention that he bought his chair many months ago, and reported no issue with a "perfume" smell. The buyer contacted us today and requested a replacement part which we do not offer under our terms of services. He sent an email saying if we do not oblige his request, he will write negative reviews as a retaliation. Thus, here we have his slanderous and false review.
This particular customer contacted our customer service department and stated he wrote a positive review about our company in the hopes of receiving Cyber Monday pricing on a recent order he received. We explained that Cyber Monday was a one day sale and we were unable to offer that pricing on orders placed after that day. The customer then threatened to revise his review about our company to negative if the credit was not received, as indicated above. When we read the review that stated the merchandise arrived in less than perfect condition we offered to pick up the chairs at our expense for either a full refund or exchange as is our policy. However, the customer refused our offer for a free pick up as we suspect he was satisfied with the chair and its condition, but was only looking to receive credits not warranted. We do feel it's our obligation to notify other online resellers regarding this customer's unethical behavior and oare grateful that this forum allows us to address reviews that customer's post, whether bad or good.
