Match has a rating of 1.2 stars from 1,207 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers complaining about Match most frequently mention customer service, credit card, and fake profiles problems. Match ranks 652nd among Dating sites.
I've been using Match for about two years and I must say I'm very pleased with their service. They have a large user base, and the website is simple to navigate. I was looking for a relationship but didn't want to get hurt again, so I tried online dating sites. In my opinion, Match Online Dating Sites is by far the best online dating site. They have many users from all over the world who are very friendly and easygoing!
Match, "customer service", does not communicate. I was banned from Match due to something that my ex-wife did on their site. I had to investigate this. Match refused to investigate. They claim the right to ban without explanation. Ok Cupid is owned by Match. I was banned on Ok Cupid, as well. I had to contact my bank to have my fees reversed. They'll even try to keep your money.
I am on Match.com at the moment but will not be renewing my subscription not because it is particularly bad but because I have decided it is not for me. I do not believe all the bad reviews. For example I am not a pervert, married man looking for affairs, sad case or a weirdo. I am just a normal single bloke looking for some female company and I am prepared to commit to a long term relationship. I have checked out a few online dating sites and Match is probably one of the better ones despite it's many faults.

This site is full of married men, scamming men. Match is hard to shut down your account. Buy a credit card from Walmart and only add the amount of money you want used. Otherwise they use your credit card over and over for recurring billing and its hard to shut them down. Meet people the good old fashioned way! Through a friend! Go to church! At a concert! Good luck!

People who are inactive spent an hour blocking 81 in active people the next day they were all back I seen some people there from 3 years ago shouldn't be my job to get rid of the inactive people just a waste of time they leave them in there and say we have a bunch more people than they actually do big big waste of time

Even when you choose only a one-month subscription, you are automatically signed up for autorenewal. I cancelled this and yet was still charged again. When I reached out to customer service I was told there are no refunds and I'm SOL. There are so many free dating sites that are better and they won't rip you off.

I think it is important to remember that people are bigger now than they were. If you truly want love and know that the outsides of people can be changed but the inside rarely is. Then this is a great place. I believe that Match customer service is great, they do try to work with people and help them find relationships. It isn't going to be for everyone. Some sign-up and realize their perfect idea of who they want isn't out there because this is real life and relationships take work. If your a grownup and you are willing to take chances then this is a great place to shop.

Tried to reactivate my account. Support said my account had been hacked and was closed; use another email addy to create a new account. Told them neither of my email accounts would work on creating a new account; got another automated email reply (or an incredibly stupid human email reply) that said to try another email. Terrible support.
Tip for consumers:
Be wary

It is one of worst nightmare ever, I have lost my trust in human race after being close to a month on this site. Twice being hacked on my profile and was scanned twice with phony prospect that was asking at the end for money. It is unpleasant and scary to deal with such dirty and manipulative people that could easily contact you and take advantage of your believe. The site is not secure and the costumer service is uneducated. They have not proper security in place for scammer, who are using members profile as a shield to scam innceonnt people.

I was not a subscriber but while trying to update my old profile as a member, they featured me unwittingly, as top spot and charged me for something I would NEVER pay extra for. When I complained, they said they cannot refund me and ultimately deactivated my account for fraud use. So now I lost access to my previous account, am forced to subscribe using new name, email, and payment info. Ironically, even if I did, they still haven't explained how I could have been set up to pay into being featured for top spot.

Match.com SUCKS!
2 months there, and I the only women I was able to talk to, they where in Africa and asking me to send them money. The rest of them, to proud to even notice you or even get to know you.
To expensive for nothing... You want a date, mingle in your community, or in your local church. Meetup.com helps a lot, and its free...

Match was charging two accounts of mine and refused to credit the account that was completely inactive. I admit I started two accounts and did not watch out that they were charging me. They charged me 250 dollars per year for 3 years when I had no access to the account. They refused to allow me to talk to a supervisor and said they had no ability to refund the account. I am a single mother and a doctor and did not have the time to follow these charges and in spite of them admitting they were double charging me, they would not refund a penny. I will find ANY other way of meeting people

Hackers and scanners have hit this site, match.com needs ti tighten up their security. On top of my discontent with the site asking for more money to even match you with someone after you have already paid. I found no customer svc support phone nimbers anywhwre on the site page

Who are the owner operators and employees and how can we either have them legally charged with fraud and theft or at least publicly shamed?
Who is investigating them and is there any way we can help? Same goes for Tinder and all the rest.

I cancelled my subscription a few days prior to it being auto renewed. They did not send a confirmation email, however it was very clear on my screen that it was cancelled. A few days later I learned they renewed the subscription, debiting my cc. I confronted them. They first said I didn't cancel in time. The next day they admitted I cancelled my subscription in time... but only part of it, a small add-on. (!) (I didn't get a confirmation email about that "cancellation" either. It appears they do not always send the confirmation email, then re-billed the debit card, pretending I only cancelled part of the subscription as their excuse. This is called stealing, isn't it? They won't discuss further. What organization do I call to take these thieves to task?

Don't forget your subscription, I used mine for a week, forgot. Now 6 months later I am charged again - non refundable, they don't care if I never or hardly used the site. Eff you is their answer. I would go for a free site and save yourself the hassle

Im a 68 year old fit person with a mid 50 appearance and looking for a serious relationship. MATCH.com let me down. I had a 6 month membership and was looking for a future partner with a selection criteria of women between 20 years and 67 years old looking for a man of my age! What I got from MATCH was 85% of women looking for men to about 50 years old 5% up to about 60 years old and really only about 1% to 2% supposedly what I was looking for. Out of that 1% to 2% only 1% actually replied to my invitations. Im under the impression that a large portion of supposed seekers are fake as you see lots of "Exact" profile descriptions.

I wish I could have met someone decent! But it's Not Free! Like they Say! And I found out that All dating sites whether it's religious! Or worldly! There is no difference! None of them are FREE! How I wish they were! I tried them all! The mm ajor ones! Except for EHarmony! They are the greediest of them all! So the only way to even respond bank by messaging is to go VIP!+ Pay! They're so Desperate to get your money! It's Pathetic! One of my emails is being me to pay a dollar and change! Pitiful! And I still don't want to! So Beware! None are Really free at all!
Tip for consumers:
Don't be fooled by their so called Free offer or free trials!! They just want to take your credit card number and bill u automatically!! Every month!! Unless u cancel before they bill u!! It's Insanity!! So don't pay! Unless it's Worth it!! And u might regret it later!! And hopefully Not!!
Date of experience: March 14, 2022
I joined them and signed up! To see if I can meet or chat with someone! And all I could do is receive messages! But I couldn't even respond back! Because they wanted me to pay! Even though they said I could For free! I did try! And I couldn't! It wasn't for free like they said! They are Nothing but Liars!+ Deceivers! So I was done! And unsubscribed soon after! Avoid them! Most dating sites are Not Free! Even if they say they are! They're still lying! Believe me I know!
Tip for consumers:
If u want to try a dating site for Free!!+ Don't want to Pay!! Match.com- is The Wrong one to go to!!! I tried it and I was very disappointed with their services!! I don't recommend!! So beware!!! They are liars about being free!!- Not a good site at all!

According to Match.com, ignoring someone's advances is grounds for being deactivated for "harassment or offensive emails." After a first date with absolutely no physical contact, nothing more than dinner, I chose to discontinue talking to the person. This got my account deactivated, and when i followed up with Match.com they told me they couldn't discuss the details with me due to their Privacy Policy. That's right, they couldn't tell me why they'd deactivated my account, that i pay for, because it would violate privacy policy. So i'm being punished for not wanting a second date with someone on Match.com, and Match.com is fully supporting this. I have to "get a subpoena or warrant" to find out what someone said about me to get me deactivated. STAY AWAY FROM MATCH, any psycho that doesn't get their way on a date can make a false claim against you and Match.com will back it up and punish you without any proof of any kind.

I used Match.com years ago, when the price was fair, the interface made more sense, and canceling was easy. I came here to write that now the interface is a hot mess, and I feel like a sucker paying for a subscription when I get a much better user experience on OK Cupid, which is free! I have yet to find the right guy, but that is not the sites' faults.

My account was hacked so had to change passwords and sign ins on every bank, credit card, email... so I canceled, then my credit card gets billed again because they have an automatic rebill on trial accounts. I had canceled! Customer service does nothing and they are clearly authorized by the company to do nothing. I am filing a complaint with the Attorney General and Bureau of Consumer Affairs. I would recommend all of you who have had similar experiences, and I see there are many to do the same in your state. It is the only way to confront this organization. The process is simple so do not be intimidated

I am using it since 2017 and all I can say is that the site is filled with posers and the subscription I am paying for wasn't worth it. My advice to you guys: "do not find love because love will find you. So better to meet people face to face and date them in the traditional way". Have a great day everyone!

Signed for a month paying more money because I just wanted to try amount. I never read, see, or listen about their authomatic renewal membership system. They charge $42.63 again and when I call their customers service they were rude and didn't give me the money back because basically they renewal the payment without your permission and you can't do anything about it.
They close the phone and roll me they will not give my money back

Match.com just embarrassed and upset me by listing me as a woman looking for women. I am a woman looking for a man. I went round and round in circles for ages trying to rectify this, no answer to their phone numbers, the virtual assistant understood nothing I said. It's hard to delete your account if you haven't subscribed. Finally managed to delete my account no thanks to them and end the embarrassment. I hadn't even finished signing up. One of the worst experiences I've had online.

I was sent a special email from them with men who have "showed interest in you." Just so happens, io know one of the men so I sent him a funny email. When I asked why he never responded he told me he hadn't been a member for 3 months! How can they say he was interested when he isn't even a subscriber! When I called to cancel, I was told that they don't provide info as to whether a member is active -- well then what's the point? I was also told that if he were interested he could pay his money to re-activate. I explained that it isn't about him, it's about me and the fact that they are shady and FALSELY sending info about non-members. Who knows how many other emails I sent went to inactive people. It is a SHADY SCAM!
They refuse to refund any $$. I put in a claim to American Express and refuse to pay the 137.94.

'Match' didn't match me with anyone suitable and was very sneaky at charging me for another month when I didn't want to renew my subscription. They refused to refund me the additional month which has left me £45 out of pocket. Wouldn't recommend.
