If we can provide enough interest in this story, we can have this Dallas news agency make this company ANSWER for their clever little games! Please fill out an online form for the TX Attorney General: http://txoag.force.com/CPDOnlineForm. I was a paying customer who called in to cancel. I was charged a renewal fee despite cancelling. I called in to dispute with Match.com who called me a liar and told me he would not refund me. He then told me that not only will they keep my money, they will block my access to the site. Basically, they are telling me to my face they are hustling me. They wrote into my credit card they will not refund me. I called into Match.com again and found out I was charged a 2nd renewal fee! I told them this is fraud and they cannot accept money and not provide services. I was told they were still "investigating" my dispute. It's time to make this company answer for their behavior. Customer service goes a long way.
WASTE OF MONEY, TIME, INBOX SPACE ETC! I have NEVER been a fan of online dating because, let's face it, if online dating was SO relevant and needed, NONE of us would even be alive! Our parents and grandparents obviously didn't need crap like this sooooo... anywho... moving on... i wanted to see what all they hype was about so i joined (on a special discounted rate) for 3 months and trust me; EVERYTHING THAT HAS BEEN POSTED ON THIS SITE IS TRUE TO FORM! They sent me a bunch of 'matches' that were NOTHING close to what i preferred, and they wanted to know my whole life story (creepy at best!), and who has time to email and wink and text until the cows come home when they work a full-time job? NOT ME! And the ONE person i did make contact with told me they had a "long hair fetish"! Uh... TMI! After that experience, i backed away from trying to make contact with anyone else! I cancelled my card, got a new card, and just skipped over their constant barrage of 'daily matches' and whatever else! THE WORLD OF ONLINE DATING CAN KICK ROCKS! I'm sticking to the old-school methods; GET CUTE, GET OUTTA THE HOUSE AND MEET REAL LIVE PEOPLE FACE-TO-FACE! To everyone who reads this i suggest you try doing the same! There is just NO way a computer can tell me who is or is NOT a douchebag! RUN FOR THE HILLS FELLOW CONSUMERS! This online dating crap is for the birds! And match.com is the absolute WORST!
I joined in arch 2018, so I also state I am not bang up to date ( as I am with another person)
However - when i DID join I kept seeing the same people I ignored, come back - and come back again.
I also noted that the ' Star Profile ' that I was interested in the most - magically never replied to any messages - I also did a little digging and spotted her profile on a couple of other dodgy dating websites
I have come to believe that most of the profiles are never deleted and just recycled through the site to make it look like there are more choices than there are.
I admit I never paid for the full membership - but realised something was awry.========
My Final Bit of Advice - NEVER give your exact real DOB for safety ( in case site gets hacked) and initially NO profile picture and little profile details - if you start to get loads of messages and ' flirts '
Or ' likes ' - that should be a HUGE RED FLAG!
This test should be done for a few days - after that you are clear to make your own mind up
( I used Tinder and had great success) - and never paid. I used great photos and a decent write-up.
Ok, I thought I'd give this site a go just to experience for myself if it really works.
First of all, after joining I was constantly receiving messages saying I have been added as a favourite. Secondly I was constantly receiving messages, this is happening before I was a paying victim. I then decided to join, giving them the benefit of the doubt. Once I joined, unlimited for 6 months, asking how I'd like to pay, I opted for £19.99 per month. Ok, so, once I joined and read my messages, about 10 of them, All of which were not my type. After deleting 99% of them I checked to see who added me as a favourite. Upon doing so I noticed that they're were men in my favourites whom I didn't add neither liked. Oh ho, I thought, this is fishy... not only were there non invited favourite but they're were also men that were adding me as a favourite unbeknownst to them... what a joke. I then decide to cancel my subscription after just 1 day. Almost immediately after cancelling I received a message from a rather good looking bloke who claimed he was called Nick asking to get to know me better. I told him I have just cancelled, immediately after sending my message he instantly responded with a 4 line sentence. I thought WOW theres NO way on the planet could he of read the message & responded in less than a millisecond IMPOSSIBLE! In hindsight I now know that was a generic message sent to pressure me to stay, I then responded with "that was too quick... bye"!
I believe MATCH.COM is a scam & they only have a 0903 number which cost the earth to call so most people lose their money if they want to cancel or just can't be bothered. Don't waste money on this site, go out, meet people the natural way it will save you a lot of money, hassle & uneccessary stress. By the Way I had to give 1 star if I had my way they wouldn't even get half!
Biggest mistake of my life. Fake profiles and full of scammers. Stay as far away from Match as you can.
Several scammers promising to be your girlfriend. Lots of women looking for the knight in shinning armor. Lots of fake pictures and fake profiles.
A really good sign up process, and a good section of people on this dating site. You don't get too many muppets on it.
From my personal experience from Match.com (UNITED KINGDOM)
1) It's expensive
2) They take money off you from your bank BEHIND YOUR BACK!
3) There is a possibility to get dates but ONLY to women you wouldn't date
4) UK women are very very materialistic. So beware!
5) There is also some race issue on there
6) Women hardly send winks. I'm good looking guy, I do some modeling, I have a good job, drive a nice car but i'll say if you want a FUN match.com is worth trying but if you want a SERIOUS relationship stay away
7) Women are too too critical... they expect to find some sort of superman man on there a Very very good looking man. So if you are an average type of guy stay away from this website
8) if I have to rate this site 10 out of 10... I'll rate it 6 out 10 which is not so bad. I did met a considerable number of women some of them were okay, others just wanted sex, I'm afraid the LARGE majority are TIME WASTERS
I'm happily in a relationship with someone I met on there and I've cancelled my account.
If I could rate them a zero I would.
I recently signed up for match.com after my friends had convinced me to do it. I did the 7 day free trial then saw something for a 6 month subscription. It said $19.99 for 6 months. Then it had $119 (and some change) for the subscription. So I thought I'd be charged $19.99 each month for 6 months. Boy was I wrong they charge you the full price up front. I've called and spoke to at least four people and they said it's a black and white matter, I sent one email, and it's in the terms and conditions they can't refund me. Let's be honest no one reads the terms and conditions (now I will) afterwards I read them and it says nothing about what the representatives are saying unless I'm missing the section. I said I'd take half the money it's not like I used the site for three weeks and decided I didn't want to be charged, I sent one email noticed it was all charged at once and immediately cancelled the subscription, it wasn't even a day be being subscribed and they won't do anything about it. The supervisors are very unprofessional, have no type of compassion, and cut you off when you're talking. I've told them I feel like it's false advertisement that they have $19.99 for 6 months when in reality they don't mean that. The man said it says $119 and I'm entitled to my opinion. It doesn't specify enough if you're being charged the full amount or what. I think that they shouldn't be allowed to say that on their website if that's not what you're truly being charged and specify which amount you're being charged. I'm sure I'm not the only person who thought I'd be charged over a 6 month period. I've contacted my bank and they said once their charges clear my account they'll try to help me dispute it and I hope something can be done.
I created a profile and later that same day I was locked out of my account. It took forever for match customer service to respond and when I was given access I noticed that someone had hacked my account and sent 20+ likes to other members profiles without me approving or knowing of this. So the employees hacked my account and sent messages and likes to random members. When I complained a day later a match rep., emailed me saying it was technical difficulty. A big fat lie! This was a deliberate sabotage. Match is a corrupt and evil company run by InfraGard and they take your information and sell it to government agencies and private companies. Basically Match employees used my personal profile to make a joke out of me and send messages and likes without my approval, a massive breach of trust and illegal use of my pictures and profile. These people are sick and evil. DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. IT IS NOT THE SAME MATCH.COM FROM 5 YEARS AGO. BUYER BEWARE! Any company that has no phone number is no good and not trustworthy. There are many good dating sites but Match.Com IS NOT one of them. DO NOT SPEND MONEY ON THIS CORRUPT COMPANY!
One of the best website and very good images of your web pages. Look nice...
Thanks for the sharing.!
They have an F rating with the BBB and other legitment complaint sites.
A lot of fake profiles and they rip you off!
Be warned!
THEY ARE FAKE THEY SENT FAKE NOTIFICATION OF ROBOT PROFILES THAT THEY ARE INTERESTED ON MY PROFILE, AFTER MAKING A PAYMENT TO SEE THOSE PROFILES, IMMEDIATELY I PAID, ALL THE 300 PROFILES GOT DISAPPEARED... WRONG DATING SITE

You don't want me on match.com but you want my money on match.com.
Please refund my money back to me, was it a crime sending multiple messages such as 'how are you doing? Or "hello" or "hi "to those who looked at my profile, I am not on match.com to flirt... Has anyone said I threaten them? Or harass them, has anyone reported me that I did sometime wrong to them or do silly stuff nude pictures etc.,
I am not pleading to come back to match.com all I need is my 42.99 give me my money back... You have forged me with your website alert sending me a fake notification that I had 300 people looking for me... Please refund my money to my PayPal account because I work hard to get my money,
You cannot hold my money for service you don't offer me, if you don't want me in on your website then kindly refund me payment.
Absolutely horrific experience I would not recommend any dating site with the way the world works and the phoniness that exist
The worst... just takes money. Sca bad... worst... customer service... took my daughter's money even that she. Canelled same day sign up
I have not met the one I want to stay with, but I have found many interesting friends. It is inspiring.
Worst customer service ever! They hang up on you. They don't give you your money back! Its a scam! They will take your money and run. Don't do it!
I ended my subscription over a year ago and my profile is still up. The site is a fraud and should be stopped.
Answer: I was unable to get a refund but I dispute the transaction and got my money back that way. I said it was because they were not providing the service they claim to offer. If you can dispute with your bank just tell them you didn't authorize the transaction and the company refuses to refund you. Good luck.
Answer: No I would not trust it. There are scammers on there. They will tell you want you want to here. They are from another country. Look for key words such as widoer, contractor, travel, one child only. They will compliment you right off the bat about your smile. Not safe. Try another site.
Answer: Back in the 1980s, strip clubs were pulling all sorts of over charge and fake charge scams and forcing people tp pay. Here in Atlanta a majpr federal case against the GOLD CLUB brought all that to light and alot of changes were made in the industry... I BRING THAT UP BECAUSE... these social sites seem to be attempting the same types of scams and are getting away with it. By U.S. fedeal standars ALL THESE SITES FALL UNDER THE RACKETEERING STATUTE. Unfortunately there is NO enforcement of these laws at this time. Your best option is to dispute the entire charge with your credit card. They may not want to do this because they are seeing so much of it. BE FIRM AND INSIST IT IS A MATTER OF CREDIT FRAUD. Also be sure to indicate that you are filling a consumer notice with the Federal Trade Commision (they have online forms for this to keep a numbers count on how many people are affected by these sorts of things. www.FTC.org). If you have been a good card holder, you shouldnt have any issues except for 1: ALL THESE SITES ARE NOTORIOUS FOR REBILLING/DRAFTING YOUR CREDIT ACCOUNT. You may want to file a COMPROMISED CREDIT CARD CLAIM AT THE TIME OF THE DISPUTE and have your card issuer SEND YOU A REPLACEMENT CARD WITH A NEW CARD NUMBER.
Answer: You will have a hard time getting your money back Terri. The first time I was with them years ago, I forgot the auto renewal and tried to get my money back and they fought me tooth and nail. This time I tried both Ourtime and Match and both experiences were not good though Ourtime was a bit better. I agree with some of the answers here that Match baits you toward the end of your subscription with possible contacts, but since I cannot proof that I have to add that disclaimer. Everything you have run into with your experience I have had with mine.
Answer: You likely signed up for auto-renewal, which Match.com doesn't explicitly tell you out-right that it will auto-renew. You will not likely get a refund back for the month they charged you. However, go to your account's settings and cancel the feature ASAP. You will still have access for the month in question, but at least you will have stopped future withdrawals.
Answer: Give them a call... they always have something to scam people about...
Answer: Cancel the card you used when you joined.
Answer: That is an extra fare item and they charge you each time. Best to do your own searches and replies...
Answer: Too much don't do it!
Answer: I feel the same way Teresa, i have been on the site for 1 year now and cancelled my subscription, but was told it won't officially cancel until May because i waited to late after my initial sign up day, so i got stuck with another year. I am a handsome guy with a lot to offer, but for some reason never really got emails as i expected, i started to think the people profiles were fake or the women i was interested in didn't know a good man if his profiled slapped them in the face, just sayN. 41, recently divorced for little over a year, highly educated, working in my profession, make close to six figures, single, don't cheat, great personality, smart, don't play, and real down to earth... but i guess no one believed it or didn't like my handsome picks... IDK. Confused!
