Poor customer service
August 25, 2020

These people scammed me out of my security deposit - worst company ever! Don't rent from them!

They are also holding me accountable for my lease when plumbing issues erupted - They won't take my call or listen to an email message - WORST COMPANY!

I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with my recent move-in process. From the start, there were issues with system processing and a lack of communication that significantly impacted the approval timeline. Despite diligently providing all requested documents, my emails were deleted, causing further delays.

Communication with my assigned leasing consultant was challenging, leading to complications throughout the process. The most concerning issue, however, is the oversight during the house inspection. The property was deemed satisfactory despite a lack of proper electrical wiring for essential connections like lights. I had raised this concern before my move-in date, but no action was taken.

As a result, I am now in a home without lights or heat, which is particularly distressing given the harsh weather conditions in Atlanta, GA. I believe urgent attention is needed to rectify these issues. I paid a substantial amount of $2,492 to move in, and I kindly request appropriate reparations for the inconveniences and hardships I am currently facing.

Is there a known aggressive dog living in one of MSR rentals? On the MSR website it states clearly no, "Pitbull Terrier" dogs allowed. It means absolutely nothing. LIE. It is posted for legal purposes only to protect MSR. We live 2 doors from an MSR property whose owners have a pitbull that has already attacked a dog in our neighborhood. I talked directly to the MSR attorney who was receiving all info about the attack. She was worthless. MSR will do nothing about aggressive dogs EVEN IF THEY HAVE ALREADY ATTACKED. MSR will just sit on their hands and wait for a lawsuit after your kid is mauled or dog killed. Main Street Renewal is a grotesque picture of big business.

Impossible to get them to follow up on complaints. If you call their number no one can speak English. Last time I checked I still live in the USA. First was having issues with pool. I would get a response, but when issued continued, now they ignore my emails. Report a leak from roof on June 1. Still not fixed and cabinets are ready to fall off wall. Has damaged items I had on my counter. They do not care about you once you start renting from them. DO NOT EVER RENT FROM MAINSTREET RENEWAL., YOU WILL REGRET IT.

We rented a house from Main Street Renewal in May of 2022 just before my husband was deployed in the military for nine months. I have called their Customer Service literally dozens of times telling them the "Portal" does not work for us! An on-line site where you are supposed to be able to pay rent on-line, submit a work order, or check our lease. It keeps saying we do not have a current lease on file or it errors out. So we have to call each month to take the time to explain the situation and give them our credit card verbally over the phone to someone in a foreign country! They always say they cannot fix the problem but will elevate it to Upper Mgt and have someone call.

THEY HAVEN'T CALLED OR FIXED IT IN 8 MONTHS!

If you are considering renting from them, I strongly encourage you to rent from a different property management company. Read the reviews on Yelp, Better Business Bureau, and other websites. If everyone is saying similar things, they probably aren't all lying.

We moved into a house in early June with a 20+ year old AC unit infested with mold and leaking. We reported the issue within a week, and they didn't fix it until over a month later. Additionally, we had a non-working stove, oven, and dishwasher upon move in. This made it quite challenging to cook in the middle of a pandemic. We reported this issue within a week. We did not have a working stove, oven, or dishwasher until 45 days after move in.

We submitted a request for financial compensation to account for the house clearly not being ready for tenants when we moved in. Today, 79 days after we moved in, they offered us $100... We are dumbfounded that this is all they feel necessary. I believe this speaks volumes to the type of business they are - one that does not put customers first, rather treats them as an inconvenience, and solely focused on their bottom line.

We have rented from MS Renewal for 2 years. To say I've had a bad experience with them this week is beyond an understatement. First issue started last Tuesday. I awoke to my carbon monoxide going off. At first it was just beeping every 5 minutes and then it was going off and I silenced it twice. I called 911 and they sent fire Marshall out to sweep the house and crawl space as we have gas heat. There was nothing detected. He advises the detector is old and should be replaced. I called and opened a ticketing stating fire Marshall said it was high priority due to no detector could be deadly if we have a leak. They set us as low priority maintenance repair for June 14th. Two weeks away.
Fast forward to today. A tree at the property line has falling and is teetering above my house. It hasn't crashed the roof yet but it's popping and cracking ready to fall. My neighbor called the authorities and they came out and advised us we should not sleep in the bedrooms tonight that is under the tree. He said not a matter of IF it would fall but WHEN it will fall.

Again we are marked as low priority on the maintenance request. Authorities told me to call back and give his name and number. Ive been on hold over an hour. So much for 24/7 staffing.

I will NEVER recommend MS Renewal to ANYONE! My family is in danger and they don't care. After over an hour on hold the call disconnected. I've left messages and call back numbers and they are not responding.

Worst Company forever ever!
August 28, 2021

Listen to these other reviewers it is not far-fetched. This company is a straight RIP-OFF! They stole my $50 for my application fee. Each time I applied for a "so called" home they would SAY the home is no longer available. This happened FOUR times with no prevail. They have no facility, no one to talk to in person. It's all rhetoric! All they have is one bogus customer service number with tons of robotic incompetent reps who answers the phone at home and you can even hear dogs barking, roosters crowing, kids playing, and cats meowing in the background. And if you have any questions or discrepancies that needs to be handled or resolved, their favorite line is "please send an email to our leasing agency department and they will get back with you." And of course they never do. In my eyes they are fraudulent, scammers, and charlatans who is getting away with murder. I am surprised they are still able to run a business. My suggestion is to keep reporting this fraudulent company. Don't stop here also report them to the better business bureau until they are properly shut down. You've been WARNED. Don't be so desperate and find yourself losing money and valuable time on homes that never existed to begin with. Find you a company who actually have a branch, a building, and real people to talk to in person. Take your integrity elsewhere with a company who is legit. Or else you'll be the next victim sending a sour review. I wanted to give them a 0 ratings, because a 1 is being too generous.

My husband and I applied to a home and paid the application fees and sent in the papers. They were very fast to ask for money and to check my credit but more than 5 business days have gone by and we haven't heard back. We have been calling every day and EVERY DAY is a 2+ hour hold. The first day I was told that the next day someone should be contacting me (that never happened). Called back again the next day (waited on hold for 2 hours) and the girl told me that she was going to send and email to the leasing agent because there were no notes in my profile and she should be calling or emailing me that day because 5 days have already gone by but of course no one called or emailed. Called again today and have been on the phone for over 2 hours and the guy has the nerve to tell me that he will email corporate to see if I can get an answer ( I have emailed them 2 times!). This is a horrible leasing company. If this is the process at the beginning, I cant imagine if something breaks and I would have to call or request anything. Running away! They can keep my deposit!

This property management company is not qualified & have no clue how to conduct business. It took them 3 weeks to process an application, I was approved by all departments however the "house" needed a gas inspection, agent didn't have a clue as why & it would take a month for an inspection. Being in construction I knew that was "bull" secondly, I advised the leasing agent I would wait, long story short she rented it to someone else! They are not trained & prepared to operate a property management company. I also agree with several reviews on the application process. They are taking multiple applications for one property & choose one qualified applicant to rent to, so the application fees you pay (3 people living in the house $50 each equaling $150) they keep. This company is making a killing on applications alone. Fortunately, I will receive a refund on my application fees only because the leasing agent didn't know how to do her job! Do better Main Renewal, train your people, again they are unqualified. I will be writing a letter to the corporate office as well.

So I am currently a tenant of Mainstreet they are not the best people to rent from. If you want anything done well you might as well forget it. My mom used to live with me and in September 2022 she passed away so I notified Mainstreet so they could remove her from the lease. Was told where to send her death certificate. In December i received the offer to renew with her name attached tried telling them again when i called i was asked tons of questions about her to the point i had to hang up bc my mother died a horrible death and the questions just made me relive it. Anyways i resent the death certificate to where requested. January comes and the new lease shows up and theres her name so i call no record of them receiving the death certificate. I have called, emailed and etc and currently im living in my home without a active lease. I spent a hour on the phone today and sent a email to the Jacksonville leasing office as requested to. This place is a joke and i am 5 seconds from getting a lawyer bc its been 4 months of battle over something that takes maybe 10 mins a someone with a mildly smart brain to fix.

First off, the application process and getting approved and moved in was a breeze, which I am thankful for. However, the second that lease was signed, all hell broke loose! The light in the kitchen fell and hit me in the head (also 7 months pregnant at the time). It was still attached by wires so it was left hanging in our kitchen (wires exposed) for 3 weeks because it wasn't high priority. Our kitchen sink backed up and the dishwasher was leaking (just before thanksgiving) and it took 3 weeks to fix that. Our kitchen was unusable during that time. The toilet paper and hand towel holders have all fallen out of the wall because of improper installation. Our AC is currently out, (we live
In Florida where it's 80-90 degrees and 90% humidity this week.) I have a newborn, and they said it'd be 2 weeks because it's not considered high priority. All of this in the 5 months we've lived here. They are nearly impossible to get ahold of (sit on hold forever just to be told "oh well") and don't respond to emails. Just do yourself a favor and DON'T.

My dad previously started a rental agreement with Mainstreet Renewal and it has been issues from the start! He was told that the home would come with a stove and refrigerator but when he moved in, both were missing. It took 2 weeks to get the refrigerator and a little over a month to get the stove!
Now the spring broke on the garage and the door is jammed. He put in a maintenance request on 3/30 and it is still not fixed today! They sent the maintenance guy out to take pics and say "I cant fix this" and leave. An actual garage door repair guy was sent out on 4/13, he looked at it and instantly said the entire garage door/springs/motor/ etc needs to be replaced. My dad checked on his maintenance request today (4/17) and they have marked the maintenance request as complete! How when he still can not access his garage! It was hell for him to even try to get his vehicle out of the garage to begin with! I repeat...DO NOT RENT FROM THESE PEOPLE! They do not care about you or the home they put you in!

These people have HORRIBLE customer service! You CANNOT reach a human by phone - their advertising of properties is VERY deceptive. They use OLD pictures, not current. They DO NOT maintain the upkeep of the grounds when property is vacant; they DO NOT assist the renter for any type repair. They are NOT customer service oriented at all. I live next door to one of their properties & knew the previous neighbor, along with viewing their website. DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK/RESEARCH BEFORE renting with these people, especially in Georgia. Just a word of warning!

I am renting from this company right now. For months I complained about mold, it flooded twice, there are bats they have not yet taking care of. When they finally decided to get rid of the mold they gave me less then 24 hrs to pack myself and two kids to go to a hotel. I was suppose to hear something today to see if I could go home since the hotel was only good for until today and no one has called me back or emailed. I have tons of emails and called with no help! Clearly they are only concerned about money and not the health or safety for myself and my children! I would stay far far far away from this company! I will be getting in touch with the news again tomorrow and hopefully shine light on how awful this company is! Kerry Dabbs was supposed to help me get this fixed and they left my garage wide open and now my special needs daughters bike has been stolen a few of our other belongings! I'm a single parent and pay my rent on time and they refuse to relocate us or let me out of my lease so now that the hotel is up and all my money they got for the rent for this month for a place that isn't safe to stay in the refuse to return call or emails or anything and I have two very sick children from this! Horrible horrible people

I am writing to ask for help with my two daughters and their friend,. It is my belief that they have been scammed by a fraudulent home leasing company in your area.

Their received a job offer from prominent racing corporation after graduating from college.
My daughters decided to move down with him.
They settled on a home rental in Statesville, paying all deposits per lease and received a move in date of June 17th.
Upon arrival, we discovered the air conditioner was broken, no hot water, no running water in guest shower/tub, a broken closet door, a broken dishwasher, and living room window that does not stay open, and an infestation of ants in kitchen due to large gap between the floor and the door of the kitchen. We are unable to speak or meet with a property manager. Any phone calls to a "direct line" are diverted to a main call center, where no one answers. No one is responding to our calls or our emails.
The friend started his job and flew out of town today. My daughters and I have been staying in a local hotel due to the fact they have pets.
This has been devastating to three young people looking forward to a wonderful future.
