Do not rent with these pple! I received a letter today stating that they will not be renewing my lease because the property is now up for sell. I just moved here less than 10 months ago from Vegas. Today I get a letter stating that we need to be gone in the next 3 months. This is stressful. This is sad. I have kids and we just moved here & now we must pack up & move within 3 months.
You do not want to rent or let anyone you know rent through Main Street Renewal!
They are practically slum lords hidden behind an AI wall aka 'resident portal'. I've never been able to meet even one of their agents. The houses are over priced and often falling apart behind some deceiving fresh painting.
Properties are usually dishonestly advertised, for instance via inflated square footage numbers, maintenance is almost non-existent, and there is no way to contact management. They do not have a physical office (everyone works from home) so you can't show up anywhere, and they outsource their customer service department (usually in India) so that you'll never be able to get ahold of anyone who can actually help (people from the other side of the planet will tell you they're 'escalating the issue' means 'bury it').
They also extort tenants of hundreds of dollars by using a part of their deposit to cover maintenance costs between each lease agreements.
I was homeless due to some things out of my hands and They knew my situation. Stephanie worked hours on my lease to get me in that day she started the soonest she could complete everything! We started moving in that night at 7pm! Thanks
Before Main Street Renewal, my boyfriend and I had spent the last 8 months struggling to find a house that checked all the boxes for us. As soon as I reached out to Main Street Renewal, Amanda P. Got us approved in no time and we were able to get our lease within just a few days! Of all my years of renting pre and post college, I have never had such a seamless process. We were really in a time crunch, so we are beyond grateful for Amanda for working so hard to ensure a quick move in for us. Not only are we in love with the house and the area as our parents grew up there, but we are now able to enjoy the holiday season with peace of mind because we have our dream home secured! Excellent customer service can be hard to come by nowadays and it goes a LONG way so had to give a shoutout :) P.S. The self guided tour was a new experience for me and I was so impressed! Can't wait to move in.
Great experience so far. Haven't moved in yet but the process was very smooth from start to finish. Natalie did a great job and was very informative. Thanks. I hope this lease term will be great to me and the company.
I have rented with Mainstreet Renewals for 2 1/2 years. It started as a problem when they overcharged me pro-rata rent. I was living with relatives and just ready to move. Then came the issues with the rental insurance. I carry my own and uploaded the declaration page but they still tried to charge me for their insurance. They finally conceded for a time. I stayed after my year was up because they offered the same rent for an additional 18 months. That's the trap. There has been one issue after another since then. Again, with the renter's insurance, which I refused to pay. They left this on my ledger. I did attempt to renew because the rents are so high here in Kansas City. The lease could only be uploaded and they kept stating I did not sign all the pages. Even after calling one of their agents and going over the entire lease, missing signatures. I gave up. We went through a cold spell, temperatures below 0. Pipe busted and kitchen floor leaked water when walked on. This went clear through the dining area, ruin my area rug. After a month of waiting on them to fix the water issue, they are finally sending someone over to start the process. I'm moving out and will not look back. This is the first time I have ever rented from a faceless landlord. I do not recommend it. They know you can't get to them and that's an advantage for them.
Please take my advice and find a different company to rent from. We have had nothing but negative experiences continually with Main Street Renewal, from a broken AC on Labor Day weekend which went on without being fixed for SIX days total in 115+ degree temps here in Phoenix (never have been reimbursed for the emergency AC company we had to contact ourselves and pay for to survive the heat), to constant other more minor, but still frustrating issues since signing a lease with this company. Currently we have a major leak in the pool at the property we are renting and we submitted a maintenance request regarding this issue back in November of last year! After weeks of being in limbo, a "vendor" was sent out to the property to try and find the leak. We were forced to drain the pool for this guy to locate the leak, then refill it again and pay the water bill for that. Fast forward a month and we are still left with a FILTHY pool that has a leak, the water level is so low we cannot run our pool pump. The pool is disgusting and we are being forced to pay $150 pool cleaning and maintenance fee each month for a lease agreement that is not upheld by the property management company. I am calling repeatedly trying to get help and an update on when we can expect a fix for this issue but as usual, MSR does not help at all and claims someone will reach out to me to give me an update on the situation. Nearly 4 months later we are dealing with an unusable, filthy pool, and no answers from MSR. Do not give your money to this company unless you are willing and able to shell out lots of cash for endless repairs that are sure to arise when you sign a lease with this company. I am attaching photos of the current state of the pool that MSR charges me $150 a month for to "maintain". Beware!
I had a problem with my application fee being applied to my email address. So that I could continue to apply for homes. I called many times to get someone to rectify the problem but I kept getting we will leave a note for management and it will take 1-2 business days. You would think it would be a simple task, but it wasn't.
My second gripe with them is that we kept getting locked out their system when we wanted to view a property. And it took them a couple of weeks to fix it. But we were still getting bad codes on the rental property and still having to call them to get a code to see a property. And having to leave a property without even seeing them because of a code problem, wasting my time and gas. Customer service at the common folk level is ok but they have no power and they have no answers for you but the generic "we left a message for management ". I would rather deal with a real life realtor. Don't do it.
Natalie has been great with giving information, relaying updates and as well with seeking other options to help out.
The process was so easy & stress free from beginning to end! Highly recommended!
I saw all the bad reviews before I move in. However, I decided to give them a change. We did have some problems. For example, the AC was not working properly and leaking all over the wood platform it is on. They kept putting band aids on it then it would stop working again. They FINALLY fixed it almost at the end of our lease. The floorboards started flooding during heavy storms. They finally had a company come out and replace everything. We are in charge of pest control but the problem is, I swear this house is built on ant hill. They come in not from the windows but from the wall. They are all over the outside too.
All of that I could have lived with. However, they really upset me at the end of our lease. We hauled our whole family here - my son changed schools his junior year to come here. We moved mountains to move into this house. As the year end lease was approaching they told me they were selling the house. WHAT? Now we have to change our entire lives again? I'm 100% sure they knew they were selling it. This happed to someone else I know who lived in a house by MSR. They told her they were selling it and she could move (transfer free) into one of their other houses. A week later that house was up for lease again. They gave us the offer to buy it but no one responded on that end and we called them & emailed daily.
The thing that happened to the person I know is that once she moved into one of their other properties, they said she had to pay for cleaning and repair fees at her old house. She said she had no repairs to be made, and left it better than she found it. She hired a professional cleaner to come in and clean it and they still wanted to charge her hundreds of dollars. When she refused to pay, they threatened her with eviction.
This company plays so many cat and mouse games. Read their reviews. Also read their employee reviews. All are horrible. Avoid at all costs.
Smooth and stress free leasing experience! Savannah was amazing at helping with the lease process.
Very fast and made it easy to set everything up for move in.
If I could a negative zero I would. I've only been in this house for 6 months. This has been a complete nightmare since the first day I moved in. Now it October 22nd,2024. Things are worse. My whole kitchen is under construction. It's been a week now and still isn't fixed. They ripped my whole kitchen apart and turned my water off. I was told I need to call the vender myself. When Mrs sent them out there. This house is full of mold an I have proof of it, You think they cared anything about it no. My house wasn't even supposed to be rented due to it being a squatter house. But I wasn't able to look at the home due to not allowing me to do so. I've had so many people in this house it's ridiculous. An nothing has been resolved. I've been so stressed out,I asked them to relocate me or terminate my lease and the want. Now, my next step is civil court.
We rented with Main Street Renewal between 2021-2023, and loved renting with them! We moved into an apartment for financial reasons and have missed Main Street Renewal ever since. We are ecstatic to get back with Main Street in 2024, as they hold their properties to a high standard and everyone on their team has always been helpful and friendly. We never once had any issues renting with them. It's easy to call Main Street Renewal our home and I can't speak highly enough about them.
I have only been in this rental 30 days and the number of issues and stress that have already occurred are starting to become ridiculous. Now I understand things happen but how this company handles things is the problem. Not being able to speak to an actual person for hours (over 5) after any type of flooding is crazy. Days go by before a clear and direct respond is given. If mistakes are made with billing, it's a circus to get the issue resolved. I have literally been going back and forth with this company for over 3 days now. Each time having to explain the issue FROM the beginning with no resolution. Even speaking with a "leader" was no help. I dislike mess and always handle business professionally, so this is just something I am not accustomed to. I truly hope they read and address feedback from their residence. This I'm sure will help retention of families
I contacted Main Street Renewal as their lease home next door to me has trees growing over, under, and through our fence and the city property line; no to mention now sitting on my yard furniture as well. We were by Main Street Renewal Supervisor Keith today that told it's up to us a non-Main Street Renewal customer, but a 25-year actual homeowner, it was my responsibility to prune my neighbor's trees. I find this completely unacceptable that I have no affiliation with their home nor this leasing company, yet they are telling me to cut it back or have it pruned, at my own expense and risk. This shows a total lack of customer service or appreciation for someone trying to report and issue that is clearly on their property. Finally, it took 4 calls (over 6 months) to Main Street Renewal for someone to finally call me back today and give me this non-acceptable answer. It pains me to give 1 star, as I would have given 0 stars if allowed.
They turned off my daughter's water on 9/4 in am. Rent has never been late. Why are they not paying the water bill. It is a Florida law to provide water. No response as to why and when it will be resolved. She has an infant. This is criminal.
Today 10/3 - the rental company added the shut off water and turn on water fees to the rent -
It's the management company that pays the water bill
Your company is criminal
Main Street Renewal has been horrible to work with. No one returns our calls or texts, even after being promised someone would reach out. They are a total scam and fraud. Do not waste your time or money with this laughable company.
I was away at work and received a call due to my alarm going off. Viewed camera heavy set male entering my property. The key code on property has a master unlock which he used on his phone. Rent never past due and no work assignment. Van in driveway didn't have property name. Called police and inform it was someone from Main Street. A week later still no one can provide me as to why did he enter my home. It's scary and been scared to stay there in fear even if I change the code they have a master code to enter. Be careful
Answer: Don't bother... waste of money for an overpriced house. Their customer service is terrible. They give you the run around and the techs they send out are not certified. Look like people the just find off the street and hire for a repair to do. My husband and I are currently looking for an attorney to get out of this lease. We've only been renting from them for 4 months and have had SOOO many problems with this house. Look else where.
Answer: Indeed! Integrity n honor is of no value with MSR! Hopefully they will re-evaluate their company and greed will not control them! No one has a clue of each other in the business system they run!
