I thought I knew all that I needed to know about my ancestry until I visited my father's birthplace in 2015, which he had left in 1923, never to return. After a four-day visit, I found there was much I did not know and turned to My Heritage for help. From little else than four uncle/aunts, four first cousins and four grandparents, I have now compiled a family tree of 9,020 direct and indirect (through marriage) persons extending from the 15th Century and covering the UK, Europe and the Americas. Naturally this involved much research but it was well worth it. Thank you My Heritage.
Just got too expensive for my fixed income. I was truly sorry I had to leave.
New innovations introduced by My Heritage are helping with searching and matching names and events
After months and untold research sessions on another ancestry site - - My Heritage came thru with a match that enabled me to verify a great Grandfather. Thru his link I have been able to reach back three further generations. Two of my Grandmother's sisters had married brothers. I and a 2nd cousin was able to straighten out which of their children belonged to which set of parents. Because of same last name, place of birth, and mistakes in birthdates identities had gotten jumbled. We were glad there is a place to leave notes for the benefit of future researchers.
EL ARMADO DEL ÁRBOL FUE MUY SENCILLO - LA MULTIPLICIDAD DE COINCIDENCIAS A VECES COMPLICA EL ANÁLISIS E INCORPORACIÓN DE DATOS PERO ES PARTE DE LA EXCELENCIA INVESTIGATIVA - TAMBIÉN A VECES RESULTA ENGORROSO BORRAR A UNA PERSONA DEL ÁRBOL (SINO SE CONSIGNA FALLECIDO ES IMPOSIBLE) - SATISFACTORIA
I have many duplicates and even more for one person with variations showing up as siblings or not recognized at all. With enough confirmations of matching facts a programmer should be able catch such things. My tree crosses many countries and historical variations due to simple language, spelling and typographical errors. Manually making the right corrections only causes other variations to be dropped or missed.
I was able to find my grandfather's family in the USA which his own children had never met, Also the amazing people sharing their information and photo's it is a journey that I enjoy very much.
I have been a member since 1978. I am now a poor disabled elderly woman. You have taken all of my family trees and deleted half because I can no longer pay for them. I believe I worked very hard to reach that level. I was a high paying member most of my time spent here. And I am blocked from viewing all of my tree fulling. Even if I could afford your price I would not feel that you would deserve the price you ask for. Since you cut me off from access to all my work that I paid for all those years. Shame on you 😕 😔 Sheri Lyn Stigall
Firstly, I was not made aware that the brachy gene was not included in test. Secondly, I was not also made aware that Australian indigenous data was not also included. Perhaps I should have searched deeper before purchasing kit. Otherwise, results I have are very interesting.
I spend most of my time correcting the unusable and incorrect data that I hoped your professional team would find but unfortunately you use the public to do your work to improve your pin or y and poor data. The. You have the Ada side to highlight your own errors by using the search engine to advise your customers of your errors. Yesterday I received anew data with one individual reported to be born is 1560 around 100 years older than both her parents is this what you all a professional job. I could never recomend this site to anyone. It is full of mistakes that in my opinion should've addressed by your professional team. However the only professionals are your clients. This applies also to all your other siftware that you share
I like it when I get notifications that there's been a discovery, but when it's a "Father's cousin's wife's grandfather's aunt's uncle, I'm like, eh. I prefer seeing and discovering direct lineage in my family. And when there's a DNA "match" that indicates less than a 0.05% probability, and your site even say, "Low Confidence", why bother? The last thing is- having to receive an email with a verification code. Otherwise, it's an enjoyable experience.
Es werden manchmal smart matches angegeben, die sich nicht abrufen lassen
Subscription services is very accommodating to help optimize the various genealogy tools. The system is very user friendly and provides avenues to create very detailed profiles. Matches and smart matches help fill profiles and make connections with relatives. Providing access to MyHeritage to family and relatives is a great way to ensure accuracy in the family tree. Newspapers matches can be a treasury trove of information to learn more about members in the tree. It is like being a history detective. I love it!
Quick updates of family members.
More time for people to gather information.
I have greatly enjoyed the study into our families past. My whole family is very interested in our results. The DNA samples revealed our heritage in a way that we could have never imagined possible a few years ago. MyHeritage has been great!
I saw an email from a lady in England asking how we could be related and I saw the name Stevenson and knew that I had been "found" :)
Ny Heritage has helped my build a large of of family relations I never had any idea about.
My experience has been good with searching for relatives and the tools you provide such as auto clusters help with the bigger picture of matches. I have a brick wall on the maternal side with my grandmother and great grandmother on my mother's side whose surnames don't appear to match their DNA information. The DNA maternal matches I have are not of a high value with some around 40cm. I wonder if is possible to use AI to create paths to possible matches. One cluster I believe to be significant is cluster 7. (Fabbri, Goins, Dow, Orr)
LOVE how MyHeritage lets you see direct line back to home person makes finding common ancestors a lot easier an quicker, still a very expensive hobby though.
Answer: My issue was the automatic renewal without any kind of courtesy reminder prior to the effective date, as other businesses do. Advising one year in advance is a poor business practice. When I contacted them immediately on the renewal effective date, they refused to cancel and offered me a 25% discount. They eventually gave me the full refund but it was due to me turning it over to AMEX to resolve. I do however agree with the advice to base your renewal on your own personal experience.
Answer: You can find your site subscriptions via MyHeritage homepage - pull-down menu on the right upper corner button "Settings". Then click on "My purchases", and button "Site subscriptions". Click "View details". The details contain section "Cancel subscription". Maybe you can get advice by mail from MyHeritage support team (support@myheritage.com).
Answer: If you are looking to get as many connections to your tree that you can, use My Heritage. If you want flexibility in who is added to your tree, use Ancestry.
Answer: Dear Jonathan, Yes I have the same problem, I wrote to My Heritage and they have still not responded to my request for assistance. They are highly Sloppy and unprofessional in responding to customer request for assistance. Even though they have and excellent Technical Team. Fortunately I have another Computer with Windows 8 as a result of which I am able to continue working with my Website. But recently a few problems have cropped up with the recent upgrade of the My Heritage Program and have sent in a request for assistance and till today 3-5 months later I have no response. Apparently the company believes that they can play games with the customers. I firmly believe that they have somehow gone into self destructive mode.

Answer: Hi After posting my complaint about MyHeritage on here I got a very quick response from some one called Dave at the company. He told me to send an email to support@myheritage.com and add the subject Dave: sitejabber. He responded a couple of days later - I emailed on a Saturday - and the auto repeat on my subscription was cancelled and my money refunded within days. Hope this helps.
