Mostly consists of people attacking one another or putting each other down. There's a few that live on the site making pointless comments on everyone's post thinking they are comedians and don't realize everyone's blocked them. Not helpful. Sounded like a good concept but not the neighborhood concept I was hoping for in terms of awareness and safety in your area.
We had a flooding issue in our backyard. The previous owner's landscapers didn't install drainage, therefore three to four inches of water flooded into our Arizona room during a heavy rainstorm.
Even though the Pay Right Company specializes in plumbing (not outside drains), Carlos and his crew installed drains in front of the Arizona room doors and one in the patio area. Moreover, they cleaned mold off the bricks, disposed of all the trash and left everything neat.
Furthermore, after they left, I found that they had given some TLC to the area near a palm tree that needed attention. This was a thoughtful gesture.
Carlos and his men were professional, friendly and focused. They worked straight through the morning and completed the job ahead of schedule.
We will contact Carlos for all our plumbing needs in the future and highly recommend his company.
Got banned for opposing views without warning or notice. Tried to contact support and got nothing but automated responses with no resolution. What an awful experience. I am glad to see that I am not the only one who experienced this bias. This app should be banned from Google Play.
From recommendations for local eateries to craftspeople to specialized services this is an excellent site. I've used it to arrange for paid services and to donate items. I've learned about venues in my area that I now patronize on a regular basis. During the pandemic I was able to source face coverings and learn which stores had needed supplies. As with an social media venue there is a variety of opinions being expressed, however, the site is well monitored.
I have found several posts with helpful and interesting information. I have posted requests for recommendations and always get good results. It seems to be a site that is well managed and secure. I feel safe using it. Sometimes there are tirades about housing or some other issue but I just don't read them.
I have been blocked responding to people talking about religion and politics if you're not going to block them for doing so that's called discrimination if yo un only want religious republicans on nextdoor then say so but that's not what the app says they stand for. Very biased moderators
They should listen to the Green Day song, "American Idiot." It describes the site and the moderators perfectly. A bunch of bat s*** ignorant lunatics spewing paranoid and crazy nonsense all over the internet and every time anyone stands up against the ignorant bullies for being hateful and nonsensical they block the writer saying they violated the "rudeness policy" or something absurd. This is hilarious because every other post on there is ridiculously rude and/or bizarre.
Do yourself a favor stay off this site. It's run by leads who are neighbors who like some and others. They will keep abusive content up if they want while taking down post that actually have meaning. You can't get help from the site itself. No number to call. They seem to support people who harass others and bully them. This site is the worst if you like your neighbors do yourself a big favor stay far away or you will hate them! If you don't believe me or you love drama check it out for yourself but let's just say you've been warned. Find something better to do than hear your neighbors talk bad about one another we live once. Put your device down and look into the eyes of someone you love let them take up your time. This app will make you want to just move away.
I just read other reviews and realized I'm not alone with my experience with Next Door. It is true people are bullies, and get away with it because their friends monitor the local areas. I had my emails hacked out due to the position of one of the leaders. I wanted them so I could file a restraining order against some of the residents who were cursing and threatening me. One thing I agree with about this app though is that it reflects who your neighbors are and given what I experienced up there, I realize I am not in a very safe area and I'm going to look for a new place.
Too much censorship and a virtual total lack of their customer service department to enforce their own guidelines.
Plus, they share your data with " third parties."
Cancel your account. You'll be so much happier.
I find it useful for the most part, especially since members are verified, so I can confidently post job openings, sell items, and ask for help with anything. However, I have noticed the typical bias against conservatives--they get kicked off for benign reasons, while liberals get away with a lot more. I don't ever get political on it, just my observation, which bothers me.
NextDoor has moderators that can take your post down, while allowing others to grandstand on there soap box post after post. This leads to a small group of toxic neighbors pushing their own twisted agendas.
Too much bickering and pettiness. There's a core of writers who love to see their thoughts in print and believe me, they are not worth reading. Spelling and grammar hardly reflect a high school education.
Nextdoor is a refreshing change from Facebook, or at least that is the goal…. A place where neighbors coming together to support each other, share helpful tips, and help reunite lost pets, keys and phones,
I love Nextdoor Neighbor. We are able to look up and obtain feedback on businesses, recommendations on different services. We
Can review all the pro & con's on the services you are needing. I feel word of mouth references by people who have actually had that particular service is the best type of recommendation.
Thank you for giving us this great site.

I don't think who gets censored, suspended, has their post removed, has anything to do with conservative, liberal, white, black or brown, or whatever, at least from my experience.
I am on my second suspension, and it seems like anyone who doesn't like the opinions you express can usually get it removed and even get you suspended no matter what your opinion. I seriously doubt whether they really consider the content and whether it violates any of their Guidelines. It is just easier to remove anything which someone decides to report. Actually, it seems to me that these Guidelines are so inclusive that almost anything can be construed as violating at least one of them.
Mostly, I use Nextdoor to find events of interest in my neighborhood, or to keep on top of crime reports. Occasionally, things get heated, when politics or personal values clash. I wish there were a way to limit angry speech, but I realize people are only human. I don't like getting follow-up notices for every thread I've thanked or commented on; I wish you'd remove that feature.
Excellent and I feel the website has really benefitted so many people providing a great venue for finding lost pets, posting garage sales, recommendations for service. Keep up the good work. One issue I see is when a community increases their boundary area - very difficult to complete the action. Our community has done this and I cannot incorporate the new 8 residents at all.
This is a useless site, as it censors and shuts down conversations they don't like. My neighbor told me this is why he stays away from it, and I thought he was wrong and told him to keep expressing yourself, we need people like you who can't be kept quiet. Well they just shut down the discussion to keep your view from being heard. Fascists for sure. Their fuhrer would have loved them.
Sorry ya'll are having such issues. It's proven to be a great tool for my communities! Never had to share contact list.
We are an Urban community & not paranoid, however, when occasional nefarious activity is spotted, we collectively & responsibly network to contain damage.
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
