Everyone on this site promotes their business. People respond to request foe certain things. But this guy who i guess wife has a cleaning business as well. Flags my promotions inboxing me saying im posting spam. Now they have blocked me from posting or even replying. I thought this would be great for my business and i actually got a call and a cleaning with a great recommendation but now im blocked.
I am a founding member and lead. At this point I will no longer encourage new people to join because of a bully lead in a nearby neighborhood. I spent several days of MY time in an attempt to have this person removed to no avail. I am embarrassed to have my name associated with them and if I had not started the whole thing in my own neighborhood I would deactivate my account. I feel I am stuck. My neighborhood is never a problem, our members are considerate if not absent. Unless there is an issue with members in my neighborhood (which is very rare) there is no point in being a lead on this site.
I'm a moderator for nextdoor & there is no rhyme or reason to what they remove. The site has allowed it to become like Facebook with lies & negativity. It's supposed to be a site for neighborhoods like lost dogs, recommendations, community info.
Unless you are a right wing racist who believes that no one ethnic group should have any rights, all "bully" breeds should be exterminated wholesale, covid is a hoax, and cats should not be subject to leash laws so they can pee & poop all over others yards while scratching up you cars, pets, and children and ruining your outdoor furniture: this is NOT the place for you!
Admin belong in Hell: not running a site meant to "foster good relationships with neighbors"
Who in their right mind "bans" people for refusing to agree that feral animals everywhere is not personally ideal?
Who bans people for 30 days for saying "excuse me but can you stop with the racist attacks?"
I imagine the CEO must be the grand dragon of the KKK to consider Nextdoor a "Friendly community" with the terrible and blatant racism that is encouraging and literally thrives...
Do not join
It's much more uncomfortable to live in your neighborhood when you realize how many psychopaths are that close by...
DO NOT USE YOUR REAL NAME OR ADDRESS! Posting an opposing view will get you stalked and threatened. If you're a liberal whiner who only wants to hear like minded whining... this is the place for you. Public forums are public forums. Too many fragile people who can't handle disagreement or alternative opinions. My posts were not even reviewed... as soon as someone reports you for disagreeing with them... all that person has to do is report you and you're off.
Nextdoor has proven that despite people like me that post factual information, if ones views or opinions incite anger or disrupt the happy go lucky sit around and sing kumbaya nature of the site they will delete your account or at least flag your posts for removal, as they have to me. Total BS that's more akin to a censored dictatorial organization run by incompetent egotistical morons. Great concept but absolutely horrible communistic management. Don't waste your time. Ironically, I'm a Licensed Community Association Manager, Licensed Real Estate Broker and Licensed Contractor and was voted by my community to be a community representative but the powers to be at Nextdoor, who lack any credentials whatsoever, deleted my account because my posts were "dominating" the site.
Years ago, Nextdoor was a little more useful and advertisements for services were limited. Now, anyone can post advertisements. When I logged in today, the first 7 posts were about services. That wouldn't be so bad, but the people are posting daily. If Nextdoor limited them to once a week, that would be helpful. I get tired of seeing the same woman post pictures of hair every day of the week and the handyman posting everyday. At least most of the political rants are removed. There are some useful posts but you have to filter through the advertisements and rants to get to them.
This site demands that you use your real name. They use your real name when you post something on there site. Given the way how people act today and you not knowing who is looking at your post. It could cause you trouble from anyone on there. They give you the bull that safety is there up most concern. Do not believe that for a minute if that was the case then your name should not matter. You have to give them your street address and they confirm who you are. The people on this site can cause problems as I myself was dealing with a jerk on there. If you do decide to use there site be aware of there rules and keep in mind that you could get problems from the site or from people you do not know. If you violate there rules they will either deactivate your account or suspend you for some days. Make sure that you really read as many negative reviews on here they are true.
Vera gives amazing pedicures! She is extremely meticulous, gentle, knowledgeable and generous with her time. She educates on proper foot care. She takes time to address nail and skin issues rather than just glossying over items. Her instruments the most effective that I have ever experienced. Her instruments are sterilized and throw away items are not reused! She uses non toxic products. I have had several pedicures from Vera and she takes pride in her work and has very high standards. I have never had a pedicure as superior as hers!
I was a user and very active moderator of Nextdoor in North Las Vegas for several years. It was a great place to get information on your community and keep each other safe. Lately however it seemed that any notification of a crime would be met with disrespectful comments towards the victim. Self promoting spam was a recent issue where these people would have the spam removed and they would post it up again. I would immediately vote to have these removed as a moderator yet moderators would vote to allow the disrespect and the spam would get no action for days or up to a week. I was so disappointed in the inaction and allowing the hate that I recently had my account deactivated (wish I could have it permanently deleted) and uninstalled. This platform has potential but it allows too much trash.
The only problem I have with this site is when you post an event, it only goes through the Home Page once. People forget about events and do not check the events page. There should be an option where you can remind everyone about an event letting you post it again on the Home Page so people can see it.
Nothing bad except as a Neighborhood Lead, I am unable to decline a neighbor when asked to verify new neighbors? When I am asked to verify an obviously fake submission (silly name, street address not in neighborhood or is a business) I cannot decline? The only option is to approve and then it sits in verification filed forever?
My next door neighbor made a post about me putting my full name on the post and I defended myself and asked for an apology but instead Nextdoor banned me and not the neighbor who made the post. The Leads are the bullies also. Very unsafe and unfair app stay far away.
I had a problem with my account email. Nextdoor customer and account phone or chat support - does not even exist! No phone numbers nothing. I sent an email and got no response. There online help and email support is equally as bad.
I recieved threatening messages from the lead for asking a question regarding standing water in a retention pond. Not only was I verbally attacked by the lead and all the old biddy's, who made the middle of an intersection into an illegal park, I started to recieve threatening emails from the Lead! I contacted NEXTDOOR and filed a complaint. They did nothing to her. I have since had damage done to my car! Going to speak to an attorney for the site not being safe and no disciplinary action was taken! She is still threatening people!
I am/was a ND member in our community, deactivated my account because of cyber bullying and harassment from neighbors. I decided to reactivate my account to keep an eye on the neighbor, but I can't reactivate. Several Volunteer leads try to provide support, but nothing works. Customer Service hasn't responded to my help request.
Before that I had this serious problem with a neighbor, and I reported her to ND. Later found out from my lead in the community that my report was made available to that specific neighbor. I consider that a violation of privacy.
So now I am out and "she" is still in, can keep harassing people and spread lies.
I still want to get back in, just to prove a point.
Tried to sign up with a different email address, but even that does not work. The error message after typing in my name, states my name does not sound like a real name. Really? My name is Anne, sounds real, doesn't it?
I was suggested to try out this website but I can't even do that. I tried looking for my neighborhood but it asked me to sign up and when I put in my address it said the neighborhood didn't exist and that I needed to select it on the map. So it takes me to the map and the neighborhood I live in is already a selected neighborhood. Whoever designed how to use this website does not know what they are doing and they should hire someone to redo the entire website and app.
I have asked for advice and referrals and I have given advice and referrals. It has been a wonderful way to share resources with others by those who have had the experience before. I trust it much more than Yelp or Google reviews which can be biased and fake.
It is absolutely shameful that in this day and age a municipality would encourage its citizens to join this site, when its leads - who might have close ties to high-ranking city officials - have the ability to use Nextdoor as a tool to control the message through censorship, all the while hiding behind the American flag and Christian crosses.
I was apparently removed from the Nextdoor site-I was verbally attacked by an irate property owner who didn't like my asking questions about his property-and then attacked by a friend of his who then "flagged" me-after she land-blasted me and tried to tell me what to talk about on the site-completely unfair--but oh, well, I can live without!
Answer: The negative reviews are honest reactions to being duped into sharing too much personal information (that Nextdoor now owns and will NEVER delete and will continue to sell to advertisers until your dying day) to join a site that seems friendly on the surface, but which does NOTHING to protect users. I was bullied by a convicted murderer, who is a Lead in my neighborhood--and I was banned from the site for complaining. Leads are nothing more than early adopters of the site who have been assigned power over other users so that Nextdoor does not have to police it's own site. In short: No. The negative reviews are not wrong. Heed them! I wish I had known before it was too late!
Answer: Forget about nextdoor and leads. Get a life, a real one. Don't waste your time with toxic online communities that tend to get the worst out of people. My advise is run away while you still have some dignity left.
Answer: Kay is right. That is their policy. However, don't expect them to hold to it. We have leads unfairly removing only some people's comments and Nextdoor does nothing about it. Best bet, dump nextdoor.
Answer: Neighborhood. Rocks is in development. Another 6 months.
Answer: Truth is like oil and water. As long as the scam artist have enough venture capital (other people's money) they will continue to shake the bottle leaving it a murky view obscuring the truth. Run out of cash, they'll be exposed for the incompetent boobs they are and the top dogs will clear out their bank accounts and move on to the next scam. One look at their "leading edge tech" pulled right out of the 1980's is proof enough they will die in the tar pits just like the fellow dinosaurs. Want a state of the art app? Check out https://wiggio.com or www.neighborhoodlink.com
Answer: Dallas, SiteJabber rates it at 16%. It would surely rate lower if there weren't so many fake positive reviews. Folks review Nextdoor either 1 or 5. The fives read like ads about Nextdoor's features and potential. The ones are written by real people and give accounts of how awful their experiences were.
Answer: Several other reviewers on this site have had the same thing happen to them. We have been fully banned from nextdoor (beyond just "suspension"), but they keep our profiles, and sometimes our names still appear in the neighbor registry. They refuse to remove us fully, I suppose, in an attempt to misrepresent our endorsement and participation there. It's clearly unethical, but their TOS states that they can do this, as any nd apologist will point out.
Answer: Here's a tidy answer from corporate... Hi Colleen, Thanks for getting back to me. Our Community Guidelines prohibit posting about Lead activity on the main newsfeed. If your Leads are inactivate and youre concerned about moderation in your neighborhood, you should reach out directly to Nextdoor Support. If you have any specific concerns I can help you with at this time, please let me know. Best, Amanda Nextdoor However, the minute you alert corporate to issues with leads in your community you'll find your account terminated. They are very protective of the information surrounding who really is controlling the activities on the boards. Most people in my community are under the misguided impression that corporate is in control. They don't even consider it is their neighbor who sits in judgement.
Answer: Nextdoor wants your full legal name, house number and address and your email address that they link all together. As an added bonus... They have a little map that you can click on. That way if, OMG, you offend someone the little map leads them straight to your house. Run, do not walk, away from this site. No good comes from Nextdoor.
Answer: Your name and address will be known to everyone who uses the NextDoor application and website. I don't suggest using it. I recently discovered that low income apartments in ghetto areas might be able to use the application to do crime. Car theft, asaaults, kidnapping and just about everything else under the sun.
