Northbound Gear

Great quality product, awesome fleece lining, great exterior material for hiking, but a poor fit. Very tight through the thigh and loose in the waist. I'm 5'2" and 160lb, ordered a short size 12. I can't freely move my legs to hike because of how tight the pants are in the thigh. Even with a belt, the pants are way too big in the waist and are consistently falling down. I won't be able to get another size because if I go down a size for the waist, the legs will be too tight, and if I go up a size for the legs, the pants will fall off my waist. I will need to be sending these pants back unfortunately.

Easy to buy from the site, and good communication throughout - also fast delivery considering the inter-continental nature of the transaction. However, sizing is generous vs the supplied charts so had to return to get a smaller size, at a cost of £22 to me! This is about 25% of the cost of the item, making the overall cost of the trousers eye-wateringly high!

I'm 5'3" and 117 lbs. Short legs and short waisted, haha. The "size two short" women's adventure pants work perfectly for me! Just bought my second pair. The older black pair is going to be solely for gardening, and the new charcoal grey pair, for hiking. I get pretty wet and muddy gardening, and these pants are terrific at keeping me feeling comfortable in the cold AND muck. I need a second pair clean and ready to hit the trails!

I ordered the mens water resistant fleece lined pants. I am a woman 4'11" and about 115lb. I ordered mens because the smallest sizing on the inseam was 28" and I am a 24"inseam (the woman's only went to 30", odd...) I got these pants for low to moderate hikes in the forest, temp +15 to -10, but mostly because I am a photographer who lays on the ground in the wet soggy west coast earth to capture the forest's beauty and was tired of getting wet. I DO NOT get wet anymore. I am not over heated and I am not cold. I do ware a light long john under them because I typically get cold easily. The outer material is flexible and tough. I LOVE the deep zip-up pockets and the zipper at the bottom of the leg. The fleece is soft and not too think. I got a medium waist(30") but could have fit a smaller 28". Even though the medium is a bit less fitted there is NO concern with them riding down the waist always sits where it should while bending and squatting. They took about 2.5 weeks to get to me, well worth the wait. Now I want a jacket for the muck at a similar price point. ( am getting my husband a summer pair.should be here soon) I would like to order a woman's pair as well, because they look so nice.

In gemeral, good, but a special 48-hour 20% discount code that I was sent did not work. I was eventually sent a 10% code which I used...but it was disappointing not to have the full 20% discount I had been offered, validated.
In the end, all was good.

The Adventure pants (high waisted) size 6 are super baggy in the front crotch and hips. They fit fine elsewhere but I was really disappointed with the fit. They said I was a unique size, but I am a 6 in Lulu and 6 at Banana Republic, so I'm not unique. I sent a video to Northbound Gear to show them and they couldn't do anything. They offered a credit or a return. Beware of shipping costs… very expensive to ship them back. Paid $22 to ship them back. They were kind enough not to charge me the $5 restocking fee.
I won't be ordering online from them again.

I had been shopping for a pair of all weather walking pants for several years. I walk 8 to 10 km per day in all kinds of weather, so was delighted to find a Canadian supplier of just what I had been looking for at a reasonable price. The pants were in stock and shipping was confirmed for 09 DEC 22. Little to I realize that they would be intercepted and inspected by the Canada Border Services Agency (designed in Canada but made in China).The delivery went into limbo until teh 16 DEC 22 when I was notified that shipping had resumed and that I could expect delivery on 19 DEC 22, fully 10 days after I had been expecting them. I am delighted with the product but as a first time customer, I was very disappointed in the disconnect between the projected delivery date and the actual delivery date.
I probably will continue to order from Northbound Gear but will reset my expectations in the future.

I ordered the Men's "Adventure" Water Resistant Pants on Dec 11 and received them on Dec 30 - just an FYI for customers to leave plenty of time for shipment arrival. The fit and quality of the pants are excellent and though they are listed 'water-resistent', water beads right off of the fabric-no seepage at all! Fit was true to the size-chart. Would definitely order other items from this company.

Slow response to my email asking about delivery schedule. Secondly, a slow response to requesting an exchange. Thirdly, slow/non response to exchange item I returned that I know has been delivered to Northbound. I'm to the point of canceling the exchange and asking for a refund.

The experience was great but asking for a tip for the support staff was strange

While some of the packaging was very sustainable, the the free hat was covered in bubble wrap and tonnes of selotape. This could be improved.

Northbounds adventure pants collection is awesome. I own a bunch of them and have even given a few pairs as gifts to friends and family. They are very comfortable to wear and have a bit of style to them as well.

Wore these pants during the freezing rain/cold we had in the PNW recently. Worked great! Kept me warm and dry. Only suggestion-can you offer the black and grey pants with black zippers for the pockets and black stitching on the knees?

Let's hope your Summer pants are the same measurement spec as the winter pants. Taken a punt and purchased three pairs
That's why I purchased the summer trousers. 3 pairs great fit. These compliment the two pairs of the winter trousers purchased. Both summer and winter trousers are perfect for Golf and or walking Birding.

Received my northbound parcel yesterday. The gloves are comfortable and are perfect for extreme and mild weather conditions. I adore the zippered pockets in these gloves. They are ideal for all weather.

I ordered a summer UV protect hoodie from Northbound which is advertising as a Canadian company so I obviously expected the order to be shipped from Canada. When it got shipped and I received the tracking number i realized it was coming from China. Manufacturing in china is one thing but not holding your own inventory in country but deop shipping from China is a big no no for me. It took 3 weeks to get here ehich was a huge turn off. BUT even knowing what I know now I would order again because the hoodie itself is absolutely awesome, I live it so much im gonna order a second one and one for my wife. Its absolutely the best garment you can wear as a top for summer outdoors activities, nothing less…

Ordering the clothing was straightforward, and I am satisfied with the quality of the clothing. However, the 3-week delivery was very slow and meant that I couldn't use the clothing for the purpose I intended.

We placed our order on January 2nd and just received our order on January 30th. Not quite sure why it took a month to ship from BC to Alberta so just a word of advice to be patient! That being said, the product appearance and sizing is exactly as described so given the shipping time we are glad we do not need to go through an exchange process!
