Great website! Cool approach to the online dating world. Mostly clean well managed, Free! There are obviously things that could be improved, like server speed or conversation approaching style option expansion, but again it's free.
I came onto this site twice, each time paid the monthly fee and each time my preferences were totally ignored. I am specific about what I want so that I do not have to go through 100's of men's profiles to weed out the men who smoke or want children. I find this website did absolutely nothing for me. They say no particular pictures are allowed to be posted yet they are constantly posted and low quality people are here to choose from because no one is checking the sites for quality assurance. This is the worst site as far as low level for the price, is should always be free if the site isn't doing what it claims its doing for you.
Don't think you will find a guy in his 60s anywhere close to normal. For that matter I don't know of a single dating site that has normal men in their 60s. It's either a nurse or purse they're looking for, and believe they aren't worth either.
I hate this website not just for the fact that they randomly delete my profile when I'm a real genuine woman trying to have normal conversations with dudes, but when I try to reach their customer service team I get NO RESPONSE whatsoever. So, not only will they delete your profile for no reason, they won't tell you WHY they did it to begin with. They will just log you out and never let you log back in. Which is extremely frustrating for me because I was interested in some of the guys on there and now I won't have the opportunity of talking to them again. Horrible dating service, horrible customer service, would never use again.
Hello my name is peter from salem ma I have been a member of OK cupid for two years and I have not met anyone and I message everyone I like and matched up 90 percentage wise I sent 200 message no response if I get one the woman tell me not my type not allowed you are more like a brother then a boyfriend on the other side I messages from bots or woman in other countries and five states away looking married life with kids I guess I will never experience love marriage and making babies being a dad this also happened on other sites too including match eharmony paid sites to if your from Salem ma or north shore Massachusetts feel free to email at *******@yahoo.com with any advice or suggestion
When I used OKC, i'd met a lot of guys. Their matching system was usually pretty spot-on, with the exeption of a couple of people. I had their åaid service, and I felt it was well wroth the $5/month. I got to browse profiles without being seen, which was nice, and having no ads is always great.
Nukes your messages if you don't send them money. They track and profile you and probably read your private messages as well. Cannot use proxies with this site. People on the site are very new age and ageists. Don't waste your time and personal info with this site as they just want your money and will throttle your account until you cough up the cash.
Not the biggest fan of OkCupid. Like wejustfit.com or some of the newer options that all the cool kids are on. I can see why some people like it and it defo has the history etc but its just not for me, soz.
Site is loaded with out of date or profiles. You will be bombarded by nonsense fron Kenya. I asked for a refund. The FCC should shut this down. It seems like a total fraud.
Tip for consumers:
Save your money
Don't spend your money on okcupid! Stay away!
That dating company do not have a system in place to verified members! It is full of scammers and fake profiles! Okcupid won't give me my money back!
Tip for consumers:
I did find a few real people, but most of the time it is a waste of time communicating with scammers trying to get to talk to get your infos!
Okcupid should get a class action law suit!
OK Cupid wasted about 100 hours of my time, and cost me over $200, for nothing. I signed up years ago when single and looking for someone special. Their matching system based on questions answered seemed interesting, so I spent countless hours answering a bunch of random questions. Their matching system then showed me how I was a 90% match with some people who didn't seem attractive to me at all, while I was 50% or less with people who looked like a good fit. Just because people think similar thoughts doesn't make them a good match, they should understand that by now.
To make things worse, I pretty much got no responses from the people I swiped and messaged. Because everyone is accessible all the time, there is no incentive to connect.
I signed up for their A-list premium, which made absolutely no difference.
Meanwhile, I went on plenty of successful dates using Coffee Meets Bagel and found my one special person.
I forgot to cancel my A-listing (they didn't send me ANY reminders that I was being billed) and discovered a week ago that they have billed me hundreds of dollars of the years! When I pleaded them to verify that I had not been active on their site for months, they simply stated they can't do refunds. Sorry dude, thanks for the cash.
What a horrible company: wasting people's time and taking their money with greed. There are plenty of evil, greedy companies, but hey, at least at McDonald's I would get diabetes, and well, that's *something*.
Bob Greenwood and I met on this site, I believe in love at first site, it can happen, we met at Applebees and we talked and talked found out how much we had in common, this was October 12,2015. Then we dated for a month and he asked me to move in with him, I said yes and the next day started to pack my stuff from my mothers house in November. We are getting married in the spring of 2017 cant wait when the priest says do you take Bob Greenwood as your husband the answer is yes and when he looks at Bob do you take Carla Giovanoni as your wife yes it will be the best ever. I give okcupid between 1 being bad 10 being great I give it 10. Because of the freedom of comunicating god forbid you be like Catholic match they have to much boundaries. Okcupid has a lot more you can do to get to know someone better. So guys and gals who are single open up a Okcupid account and flirt like crazy and have fun.
Guys don't pay for the site!
Once you subscribe to okcupid, they ip ban people from logging in to stop people from canceling their subscription, they allow you to log on your account from mobile, so they can legally charge you every month... they scammed me and now I have to cancel my card.
You guys want proof?
Well I changed my ip adress using a proxy server, and guess what?
I logged right on using a different account... but when I tried to log on using my account they said the site is having technical difficulties. Obvious scam and im taking action against the company.
Everyone please take action against okcupid...
I joined and put a real and nice photo of myself, and then had no other pics for the time being and so I added a photo of my home grown tomatoes, as a display of personality, and it got flagged but someone and got deleted. I had a nicely written out profile, answered nearly all the questions and really made an effort, and for them to flag that 1 photo which wasn't of ME, was pathetic! I realized the way it's set up doesn't work for me, at least... you should be able to put any photo you want up, if you already have a photo of yourself there. So I deleted the profile right away, feeling unwelcomed and penalized after just a few hrs of having joined. And I'm a good looking female, and a nice person. I guess it wasn't meant to be. Thanks OKSTUPID.com.
I joined OKCUPID at the request of friends and OMG what a let down. I was so excited my very first day I met this great guy. He immediately asked me to leave the site and give him a chance because he was leaving on a business trip and did not want me meeting anyone else. This goes on for two months. Turns out he had stolen some guys pics off the Internet. Posted fake Linkden page, fake FB Page, did not live in Miami as he said he did. He asked for money because he got stuck in aghana on business trip. Come to find out he was a black man lived in Ghana was just trying to meet a white woman and come to the USA. Said he had taste for a white woman. He was nothing but a scammer. I was so stupid because I fell in love with the person he claimed to be plus I gave him $900.00 and ran up $500.00 phone bill to cals to Ghana. Such a fool. He thought it was funny caled me laughing about it when he finally revealed himself.
This website sucks signed like five weeks and I had my profile for only three weeks and I didn't receive no messages which is frustrating the only stupid thing was that a girl accepted me as a match then I message her and never responded back so I deleted my account for good
I am new to this but when I like someone and send them a message they disappear from my profile. When I go to Who You Like it says no one and they say they push the messages, but I don't think they are going anywhere because the person I messaged to disappears.
I used this site back in the day and decided to try it again with wejustfit (my cousin recommended WJF). I prefer WJF all things considered but Cupid still has some potential and so much depends on where you are and how many members these kind of sites have in your area. OkCupid used to be really busy where I am but its not what it was in terms of numbers anymore IMHO.
Have been on there a couple of years and noticed the same few people. No one pretty or attractive within 150 miles of my City, according to my searches! Really? 150 miles? Shows how few 'real' people use it. If you do find someone, they never reply. I have experienced rudeness too - there's no need for such low standards! Rarely new members, same old people from what looks like 10 years ago. Worse still, you can tell profiles are fake [with american spelling]. Example, some profiles have the "identical text" and only ONE 'very nice model' picture! We are meant to believe "she" is looking for a date? How often is a stunning model going to be on a dating site? And identical profiles?! In the very rare chance you chat to anyone 'half decent', they turn out to be scammers from russia or africa and not located in the UK town THEY CLAIM IN THE SEARCH - that wastes so much time. Annoying. I have complained to the site about false pics but they leave them on there, cos it looks like they have millions of members. Avoid. Site is Free. I'm leaving tho, as it has its wasted 2 years. Better off paying for something.
The women on OKCupid love to talk about all the bad messages they get from scummy guys, but without fail they conveniently neglect to mention dudes like me. Hi, I'm the fella who actually reads your profile, tries to engage you like civilized human being, tries to make you laugh and invites you to do fun stuff that doesn't involve sex in the back of a truck, and still gets brushed off because I don't look like Channing Tatum. I'm that guy you never talk about because it'd show people that your entitled asses are half the problem with online dating, and you'd rather blame the men for everything and continue looking like the victims.
Yeah, most of the men on the site are crap, but the women are far worse because they're totally conceited. They're looking for their perfect fantasy man, and they will not give you the time of day, no matter how high your match percentage is. If I wanted to have women turning up their noses at my average-looking $#*!, I'd be asking them out in person. All OKCupid does is streamline rejection.
The only positive about OKCupid is that it doesn't cost anything to register, and you don't have to pay to send or receive messages. So I still can't get a response from anyone, but hey, at least I'm not broke as well, right?
Whether you're looking for dating, friends, or casual sex, if you're a man, just don't bother. You will never be good enough. Not unless you're Channing Tatum, or that computer engineer who had to hack the website before he could actually get a date on it. I'm not kidding: http://www.wired.com/2014/01/how-to-hack-okcupid/
Signed up for this site... haven't been able to sign on once in the last 48 hours..."technical difficulties"... and absolutely no supports whatsoever... emails never answered... move on
They deleted my profile for absolutely no reason or explanation.
It's better to not even start using it since they don't care about their customers at all.
Waste of time.
Only wast of time and hopefully you don't pay, is only rubbish. Your messages go lost somewhere in the okcupid desert, maybe they find some, who knows.
This site needs to be monitored by the FBI/CIA. There are people there that have a very dark motive. Women over 50 beware they are targeting you! Trust me I was one of them.
Tip for consumers:
Do not use this site!!!!!
Not a fan of this dating site. I've had better luck meeting decent people on match. OKC has some weird/awkward questions in the profile set up. I would skip this one if I were you.
As a male, I met several women a few years ago on OK, but recently it is totally dead and does not produce responses. I believe many good people no longer use the site.
Tip for consumers:
No longer a place to find people.
Male to female ratio is very high on OkCupid. Too much competition for a man. Women get inundated with messages. The only replies I got on OkCupid were from obvious scammers.
