Great website! Cool approach to the online dating world. Mostly clean well managed, Free! There are obviously things that could be improved, like server speed or conversation approaching style option expansion, but again it's free.
I came onto this site twice, each time paid the monthly fee and each time my preferences were totally ignored. I am specific about what I want so that I do not have to go through 100's of men's profiles to weed out the men who smoke or want children. I find this website did absolutely nothing for me. They say no particular pictures are allowed to be posted yet they are constantly posted and low quality people are here to choose from because no one is checking the sites for quality assurance. This is the worst site as far as low level for the price, is should always be free if the site isn't doing what it claims its doing for you.

There are three levels of membership:
Free which essentially lets you see pictures of people who may or may not be active members
Premium Membershp: Which I paid $70 for three months "membership"
READ the fine print CAREFULLY! All you get is pics and profiles of people who may or may not be active members. You CANNOT communicate with ANYONE, including a live customer service rep!
You CAN like someone BUT they can't see who likes them nor can you see who like you, UNLESS you upgrade to premium membership.!
So the bottom line is I paid $70 to see pictures of members who may or may not even be active. I can't even see who are free members, basic members and those (if any) who paid for premium membership. A total rip off!
SOOOooooo friends OK Cupid has now joined the ranks of corporate corruption and scammers.!
In my opinion: Stay VERY CLEAR of this site Its just SCAMMING people.
DO NOT purchase! The ladies are either from Kenya, the Philippines, or Thailand and are bot accounts! If there is someone from your area (1 or 2 out of 100) they do not respond! Btw, I would rate it as a zero if I could!
I'd like to leave a more in-depth review, discussing the sites features, the quality of matches, the variety, how it works to verify profiles and keep away bots, catfishers etc. But I can't. I made a perfectly OK profile, nothing explicit or rude, no swears, slurs or anything vulgar or otherwise problematic. Once I finished my profile, I was promptly signed out.
I tried signing back in only to find out my newly made profile, as well as my phone number were banned.
I tried appealing the ban through customer service. They took days to get back to me, and weeks to let me know that they will not be unbanning me. Didn't tell me what rules I violated either.
With how long my profile was up there wasn't even an option someone could have reported me, so I assumed it was some glitch, which they refused to correct, and refused to elaborate on why they didn't.
Complete garbage. Wouldn't leave any stars if that was a possibility. Just use Plenty of Fish.
Ok cupids filters are weak. I am absolutely not attracted to African women and have no desire to travel there. Yet every time I boost, I get likes and intros for 90 African women who I have to reject. Giving them hope that I might like them is cruel. It's better for them to not see my profile.
Also, it would be nice to have a filter option that let's me search for women by country. If you like Brazilian women, you should be able to search for them.
This app is trash! There's no Black women on this dating app. It's like they completely left Black women out and only focused on white women. They truly need to do a better job of marketing and reaching out to women of color. Hands down the worst dating app ever. Down below, I added a screenshot of a user's profile stating that she does not support Black Lives Matter. Now how in the hell am I supposed to feel safe on this app?
Tip for consumers:
It would have been helpful to know that this app lacks culture and only focuses on white people. WHERE ARE THE BLACK QUEENS?!?!?
I took their 50% offer and bought 1 month for $25. If you are looking to throw money away, this is one place to do it. It's a rotten company and rotten service that doesn't help its customers ~ it just takes your money and you are on your own. Like most dating apps, you have to pay them if you want to see who likes you. So who liked me? Kenya. Somalia. Philippines, Thailand. Indonesia but not a single person from the US, much less from Colorado where I live. The day after I paid to subscribe, their customer pool dried up and never came back. You're lucky if 2 or 3 new ones pop up daily. This website/service is a terrible and total waste of money. Give your money to a homeless person instead.
Tip for consumers:
Save your money.
Despite a preference for local matches, all my matches were from developing countries looking to get out. They lured me into the paid version of the app by saying I had lots of likes. Yeah, but likes from places I would like to have nothing to do with. I then restricted my preferences to local matches and still got matched with undesirables. How hard can it be to be matched with someone similar to me who lives locally? They promise quality matches. The only matches I see are those with minimal credentials. And they should really restore the income thresholds. Makes it easier to screen for potentials.
Tip for consumers:
Lopsided app. Too much riff raff. Needs a full makeover. Empty promises of love. Avoid!
I joined OK Cupid hoping to meet local ladies to interact with. Sadly the overwhelming majority of the women on the site are from other countries looking for assistance in coming to America. That is not what I signed up for. Unless you are looking to import women stay clear of OK Cupid.
Tip for consumers:
I requested a refund but got no response
This website is full of fake profiles from US and abroad. As soon as you join, you'll get tons of likes and messages from fake users to lure into taking membership. I wouldn't even spend 5 bucks for this crappy dating website.
Pretty much the same people form all these site si have noticed, after being bullied in a few intros by the same person i reported and now have no access to my account funny how that happened? I only have to use dating sites because i work a weird shift its impossible to meet people, but these sites all seem to have the same people who don't work or have a place to live or just wanting random sex, look go hired a hooker and pay for it if that's what you want. And after you complain to staff about repeated harassment, funny how all my white friends can access their accounts yet mine says server error these days not my service not my device? Guess its my race sadly
To start with, Match is very expensive when you pay for all the features you need to use it comfortably. Secondly, it's pointless site. I received 5 letters in 2 months, in the meanwhile I get 100 letters per month on EasyFling4You
I wonder how many real women there are on OkCupid. Don't pay attention to the reports they send you telling you about the women who are your potential matches, most of them are either absolutely fake or outdated or in relationship with other members. For some reason nearly all messages I sent on OkCupid were ignored. What is the point of such kind of search? It's pointless site.
Also OkCupid is very expensive when you pay for all the features you need to use it comfortably.
Be careful, even if you sign up for only 1 month, they will continue to charge you unless you cancel. I recommend you cancel right away if you DO join. You still get to keep your membership for the remainder of the month, it just won't charge you when it's over. The paid version also isn't that great. You're better off just messaging random people than waiting to see who likes you. Messaging is free.
Tip for consumers:
Don't trust them. They will take your money without you knowing and ignore your emails.
It's funny that they claim themselves as a free site. You have to pay money for pretty much every step you make. But just like a free site they have no vetting, no service, no fraud prevention, no results. If I pay, I want the results. OkCupid is like a ghost town. I'm pressed to give OkCupid one star, but really they don't deserve any star at all, because they are absolutely pointless. Moreover, they mislead their customers by numerous bots and fake profiles.
OkCupid showed me the same 5 local people over and over. I also had many suggestions for obvious 'catfish'. The worst part was that they continued to charge me ($47/mo) even after I deleted the account. You will never speak with a human when you try to contact them. I asked them to refund my money or restore the account. I will NEVER recommend this app to anyone!
Tip for consumers:
Terrible app that has gone down hill.
Well... it's free, so I had to try it.
I answered a LOT of their silly questions and they have this rating system that says either "The Two of Us" or "Y'all Got Issues" depending upon how each person answered each question.
Some of them are truly bizarre: "In a certain light, would a nuclear war be interesting?" That, for me is a NO! And some completely inane: "Peanut Butter: Creamy or Crunch" Like, honestly? That matters? And I prefer almond butter, anyway.
I have met a couple of men who seemed truly sincere, and then *poof* they lose interest. I guess that can happen either way, but I answer every single correspondence even if they live 3,000 miles away (it says right on my profile that I won't date anyone who lives further away than 25 miles away from me).
I will also say that the site is just insanely buggy and very hard to use sometimes, but it's free, so how can you complain?
Tip for consumers:
answer as many of the crazy questions as you can... it yields better responses.
I have had some bad experiences with OKC but overall found the site itself useful to meet new people. I'd always recommend to use more than ons site to increase your chances of meeting someone. POF and Mingle2day are nice add-ons.
I set up the account, spend several hours (!) answering their match questions, browsed some matches (did not seem very well matched, though, because the questions asked were strange at best, a lot about sex, too...). Then stayed away from the site for about three days and when I came back, I tried to log in, but my account was cancelled. Complete waste of time!
Nothing but hacked accounts with dangerous scammers. I feel sure OKC is doing nothing this courage this. If you meet someone or plan to be inactive I suggest turning off your account, and selecting a better password.
Signs of scammers;
1 profile indicates they are originally from some other country
2 never give your email though they'll ask for it immediately on OKC - they can break into your computer
3 exchange phone numbers and immediately text asking for a photo that does NOT appear on the site - any excuse is a scammer
4 if you talk to them by phone do they sound the way you expect or like a Rastafarian? Tell them, say something in German, or mention I understand you're allergic to dogs when they have written they love dogs. Catch them in a lie immediately.
5 If you happen to be up very late and they are active green throughout the day and night... scammer
Free sites are not worthwhile avoid
This site was bought out by a huge conglomerate not too long ago. They then started using a Match.com blacklist and began shadow banning people... messages to and from people would be throttled if you were on that list. (I received messages from one woman a whole week late.) Then: no messages. AT ALL. As of 2018, they have changed their message system (again) and now they openly hold back any message you send unless the recipient has already pressed like and you have AT LEAST matched with her. It is now the equivalent of an internet ghetto (for most male users) that is designed to waste your time and give you a false hope. Basically it is a eugenics engine run by a technocratic, global company. The Technocrats have a special hatred of white Christian men or anyone who is conservative. BEWARE.

Signed up, thought it was very well designed and easy to use. Then I try to sign in a couple of days later only to find out my profile (which I spent a good few hours creating) was deleted due to some unknown reason. I had not broken any rules or done anything unusual.
Search the complaints and you will find many more like this. They also have NO customer support.
Not realistic because women will get more attention on here than in real life so it seems to give them an inflated ego. Most don't even respond to your messages and if they do it might be a word or two but hardly ever reply by asking a question back. And if you do actually meet up with someone, well most likely they will be fooling around on the site looking for attention and Mr. Perfect. I'm sure there are some good women on OKCupid but you have to dig really deep to find them. Oh yeah, women like to post their best pics which may not be current. Sadly enough I've met plenty of women who looked nothing like what they advertised.
I never ran into any bots, just worse, men who only took me as a pretty face. After about 20 dates with men that wanted nothing meaningful I was about to give up. The last date I went on was meant to be the last I'd accept from okc. We are now getting married after 2 amazing years together. He is everything I never thought existed and everything I ever dreamed. I would have never found him if not for those 4 horrible months of juvenile dating experiences. And with any site, that's just what you accept to endure in exchange for the help. At the end of those 20 dates I found the love of my life. Give it a chance.
OkCupid is a very well made site. Sometimes the people can be a little strange but you will run into that anywhere. Really helpful as of location of people, their interests, and their values. I met my current boyfriend of two years on OkCupid, along with some new internet friends. Thanks, OkCupid! :D
Tip for consumers:
If you're looking for "the one", be patient! I had my account for almost two years before I REALLY found someone I clicked with. Just talk to multiple people and experience new people! Everything is a learning experience.
