I aint tried many of these online dating websites but I cant say I'm all that blown away by OkCupid. It takes an awful lot longer to get up and running than the other site I liked (wejustfit.com) and im not sure im such a big believer in all the scientific hogwash. It's hella busy though, ill give it that. JF

Got the free version to look around. Within days i had 26 likes, so my curiosity got the better of me and i subscribed. Turns out they were all from other countries, mostly africa. Get a different dating app, unless you want to import someone from a 3rd world country.

No one is serious about meeting on this site, like all the rest... are you people afraid or what? I hardly receive any interested on okcupid... men are so petrified to meet in PERSON. What is wrong? Im nice looking with great personality. The fat women with crazy personalities get more men than i do. I guess i better start eating double pound cheeseburgers and be crazy to get a man. I dont want to grow old by myself..

I don't understand the reviews stating "don't waste your $". I found my perfect match for free. We each answered about 40 random questions. From there we could see we were potentially compatible. It's up to you to carry a conversation & connect on a deeper level once you find the potential partners. We are 50, have finally found each other & couldn't be happier (nearly a year later). THANK YOU OK CUPID!

Come on... thirtysome "cyber-bullies"? After red flagging a few of these, I got no response from okcupid "customer service" website to check what if anything was done. I tried to reach them by phone... but the have an "answering service" that sounds more like a fax machine. I repeatedly tried to get a live person to respond to my complaints... which are supposed to be in tune with their "conduct policy" but never got an answer. I am beginning to think ALL these "dating sites" are run by a bunch of Sleaze Balls...

Ok cupid is like Woodstock 99. It promises a good time but what it becomes is a crowd driven by sexual violence. If you leave the crowd online to meet a stranger you risk sexual coercion or worse.

This site is ridiculous. At first it is fun, but I learned some things. Instead of have the people that work for them review pictures and profiles, they have members do it.

I was testing this out by writing a fake profile. I didn't violate any of their terms or conditions, but the first profile was for an angry gay male. The next i did was an angry lesbian. The third i did was a suicidal male.

I didn't use any profanity, racial slurs, or the word hate at all, in any of those profiles.

All 3 were flagged and they blocked my access. I emailed the staff asking them why and never got a single response.

I am assuming that because they let the users review and flag profiles and pics my accounts were banned because a few people didn't like what i wrote.

This site is bull$#*! and just know that your account can be banned for any reason even though you don't violate any of their user agreements.

If i paid for this site i would sue them

Lack of members outside of big cities. But it is mostly free to use so always worth a try. It is not my favorite dating site and I personally prefer Match and Mingle2day but it is much better than most sites I have used where I had very limited success.

OKCupid is a mostly "free" dating site whose actual source of revenue is advertising. The advertising value of the site is determined by the traffic through it, so users are manipulated into logging in as frequently as they can be persuaded to do so. A user will not be shown all of the profiles which meet his/her search criteria at any one time, and only by 'activity' will a user get to see more profiles. OKCupid is a huge time-suck. And I'm guessing only useful in densely populated areas. Whatever you do, don't pay for 'A-list'.

Amazing website if you are looking to settle down or dating... I found my soulmate! I met the love of my life 3 day after signing up, he messaged me and we starting dating right away. He completes me and thank you okcupid for the help!

I like the site it way better than POF but what site isn't? POF is more like a bird bath filled with acid rain where all the birds fly off and try to contaminate others (IE: The women are so jaded). Okcupid is a good site it just isn't very diverse. Don't get me wrong I have no problem dating outside of my race and I do. But I would like to see some diversity on this site. The match criterias are okay but not great. If I wanted someone who was just like me I'd clone myself. Opposites attract I guess it's only true in my case. Lol. As far as the dating criterias I think the site does a pretty good job identifying different types of sexual orientations you may be looking for. All in all I like the site I just wish it was more diverse

Was a paid member for 1 yr- then they changed the site late 2017. Let my subscription expire, then after 2 months off, received an offer of $8/ month to renew - and did. After that my profile Gender kept mysteriously changing from Straight to Gay, and after numerous times of correcting it in my profile and saving it was frustrating as I was matched with 1 Gay person and 1 Bisexual person. Tried searching for Straight Men on the site and can only view a blue screen - unable to view other profiles. Tried to contact them via email- no response, then by phone - the same. This is NOT worth any money as the site is a SCAM.

I like Cupid, I have actually chatted on the phone and met a couple guys. Not to my liking but at least I know there are real ppl on these sites. Biggest drawback: I stated in my profile " if you are young enough to be my son, forget it, I already have 4" Yet, I still getting these you kids, some young enough to be a grandchild. And that is my only complaint about Cupid

This site actually has a lot of potential in my book but unfortunately there just aren't a lot of active men in my area. I get contacted by some serious creepy dudes that have nothing in common with me.

For starters, they have you answer a lot of questions & rate how important the response is in the other person. I find it great to know immediately if someone isn't for me. I also enjoy calling men out for saying it's sexy to see 2 women making out but they also say they're very into their Christian religion & don't support gays. Can we say hypocrite? Anyways, if everyone fills out the questions it's extremely helpful & the site even gives you a percentage of how much of a match you are.

Since this site isn't very active in my area I haven't dealt with any crazies yet to know how OKC handles those situations.

I'm giving it a 3 because I know OKC could have a lot more members in my area so they need better advertisement. They have a great idea but need to get it moving again.

I've been a serial dater for the past two years, and just recently discovered I am bisexual. When switching from gay to bisexual on okcupid, I was bombarded with thousands and thousands of proportional pretty women and hardly any of my usual jocks. Where is the equality in this, okcupid? Why do you want me to be straight?! If you feel like you have been discriminated against by okcupid because of your sexuality, send me a message and we can talk about litigation! I am NOT here for THIS!

This is by far the worst dating experience I have ever had. To be clear, I have tried other sites in the past but okcupid is the worst. I had 5 guys in 3 weeks be extremely rude and cruel because I did not want to go on a date after emailing or txting. Every single guy was crazy! If you are looking for a gentleman or someone who understands online dating try another site.

Irresponsible Customer Service: My sister was paying for the premium service, and when she ran into someone who was being verbally abusive and on top of that, creating multiple accounts to intimidate and stalk her, the company did nothing. She sent a message to OKCupid over 2 months ago and they keep avoiding her questions regarding our concerns, and have taken 3 weeks+ to even respond. Since then she has canceled her account because she fears that every person she meets, is going to be him. She has clear proof of him creating multiple profiles and verbally abusing her, but they've done nothing about it. I was the one who told her to use this site because I enjoyed my experience. Now, with their negligence, I will NOT recommend this site to anyone and I will let my friends and family know about the companies disappointing customer service and lack of accountability when it comes to sexual harassment.

I am going to give any free dating site a Meh rating... here is why. Do you really want to date someone who takes dating so casually they are not simply willing to pay the twenty bucks it costs to join say match or one of those other sites? Girls, really? If I guy can't shell out a few bucks to join a dating site do you really want to date him?

Only one thing makes sense. Match.com owns Okcupid. OKC is free, match isn't. Why would Match want to make OKC decent? Of course they're strangling it slowly to death. Give it another year.

If you want a Real Lady, try J4Dream.com I got really lucky there and now I live with the woman I couldn't even dream of. Yes, I had to travel, yes, she is a foreigner, yes, it took some time – but she is absolutely worth it! Now I know what it feels like to live with a model-looking woman with sweet heart and family-oriented personality. She is 100% opposite of OkCupid women.
I wonder what's wrong with OkCupid women? Looks below average, overweight, uneducated, ridiculously picky with long list of requirements for men.
If you come across a really good-looking woman on OKCupid, she is most likely a scammer, so be very careful! Scammers usually ask for your email, exchange a few letters and then ask you for money. It goes without saying that regardless of the sob story no money should be sent to scammers!

We're all searching for our elusive other halves and although online dating helps us in our quest, it's not quite the fix that some people would have you believe. So far ive had a month on okcupid and a month on wejustfit.com and ill actually be dropping my okcupid membership because the only person I met was on WJF. I dont know what other cities are like but im struggling to get anywhere on okcupid in essex. I will say though that its a really nice site and easy to use on my ipad so if you have more people in your area maybe it will be a good option for you

Almost 60% are fake profiles or profiles of previous members that are no longer members but they keep your profile in system. If your not signed up as a paying member you get email alerts to con you to sign up and pay only to find out its a fake message. Total waste of time and money.

I rarely pay for dating sites, but because I had so many "likes", I thought I would take a chance. I paid for the one month package. Worst mistake giving those crooks my hard earned money! I had 54 "likes", and only 1 was from the U.S.! I'd rather stay single, than pay for another dating site.
