Card started getting declined for no reason when I clearly have money on the card. Have been trying to reach a representative. The automated system goes for a long time before you can press a button and then it seems to time out and doesn't recognize any button you press. To finally reach someone I chose the dispute a transaction option. It patched me through to a representative but keeps saying wait times are currently long. Curious as to how since it's so hard to even reach a representative. Once you actually get a hold of one they were pretty helpful and nice. Besides this issue I've had no problems with the card.
They opened an account in my name that I did not even had access to and charged me late fees on that, I could not even pay those fees and that affected my credit score by 40 points. I called customer service and they treated me like garbage, talked for 1 hour and they said it would take 90 days to solve my case, that my only option was to wait. They even made me pay those fees through the phone but refused to close that account that I don't have access to… guess I will have to wait 90 days and then called them back
A card holder with them for years, times are tough and I couldn't afford it anymore and the app would not let me make a payment. So I called to pay & cancel; I paid a small additional balance over my security deposit and thought that was it. However, when I looked at my account on the app that night a random mysterious payment of $100 was posted ahead of the small payment I had made and approved of $21.91. I never made this $100 payment. It was nowhere in the apps history under payments or any evidence of a payment made on NOVEMBER 16th ANYWHERE! Almost 3 weeks earlier! Supposedly that's what they said when I called. If so why was this not in the app until now and says it was made the same day I closed my account? Why was it not already processed? It doesn't take 2 plus weeks to take a payment. They said it was made on my app which has no data showing that is true. On this phone call I was told because the payment was already processed and made in November they could not stop the charge that is about to overdraw me by that same amount, not to mention the overdraft fees. I asked to speak to a supervisor and while waiting for them to transfer my call, I was hung up on. Now irate I called again, spoke with I think her name was Alicia. She told me the same BS, could not explain any of it, I still was not allowed to speak with a supervisor on this very serious theft of my money. They are doing an "investigation" and will supposedly call me in 1 business day. They still hadn't taken my money but couldn't stop the payment? The payment was old but also new and only appeared in the app after choosing to close my account. This seems to me like a scam or an FU for leaving their services. The amount of distress, unrest, and additional hit to my finances is unacceptable and unexplainable even by them. Will update after the next call.
I called to get help because I couldn't get into my online account. The customer service agent was rude, short, and impatient. Unbelievable!

Ok opened an secured account to build my credit score some more.
I was at a 710.
Sent them $200 for secured card.
Received a $35 bill for activation before I received card, that's ok.
Received card, paid off $35.
Used it for $28 then paid it off immediately with my debit card.
Next month first report they took 32 points off my credit for opening the account, at least that's why it says on credit karma.
Called and asked why, was told it shouldn't affect negative.
Was advised to call Equifax and get complete copy of credit mailed to them at a po box? Who uses a po box?
Anyhow they said if I did that they would clean up their mistake within 30 days or so.
So I did it.
Well next day opensky took another 26 points off my credit! Literally the next day I got an alert from credit karma and checked it hoping the first mistake maybe was cleared but no it was informing me that the other 26 points were taken.
Lady at open sky said she never seen this.
So here I am day 3 trying to deal with this which took me from decent credit to almost poor in 2 days...
I think I made a horrible decision on opening this account at this point.
Wish I never did to be honest.
Now they basically ruined my credit in 2 days.
With a secured card at that, and I utilized under 20 percent.
Not sure where I go from here but what a headache and major set back.
Damn, man. Smh
Hoping to get this cleared and now I feel trapped to this company because it will effect me even more negatively if I cancel the card.
I almost feel like a hostage at this point.
All for sending them my $ cash.
Wish I could just tell them to keep the $200 put my points back and we are even, you made $200 for les then a month.
Unfortunately don't work that way.
I know things happen and if they clear it up I will 100 percent come back and out a positive review for them.
I'm not here to bash the company, but from the way it went down I'm sure you can understand my frustrations.

Last year, I cancel my card in October 2017. I was approved for my deposit back because I didn't have a balance. I paid this card more than I should have thought my credit score would get higher, but it didn't and I wasted a lot of money. Anyway, I still have not received my deposit back and it was going into the month of November 2017. Now OpenSky has this policy that after you are approved for you deposit they will send out your deposit within in 2 weeks. Well, it was past the 2 weeks mark. I wanted my deposit before Thanksgiving and I got it too. Let me explain how to all those who have not received their deposit back yet.
First, I realize their customer service was friendly to me and I was sick of how I felt after the phone call. I got no action from them and I still didn't get my deposit, yet.
I went on a site called Consumer Financial Protection Bureau www.consumerfinancial.gov and I visited Federal Trade Commission. Let me tell you this for anyone who can't get through a credit card company. These two sites that I visited will get in contact with anyone dealing with consumer's rights. These companies don't play and mean real business and they stand up for us the consumers who were mistreated by credit card companies or any companies.
My story is I complaint on these sites about my situation dealing with Open
Skycc, com. A real true story, I got my deposit before Thanksgiving 2017. I say if you are having issues with any credit card company, complain about these sites because they stand up for us consumers. They protect us from companies that try to violate consumer's rights. After I have received my deposit, now OpenSky writes me a letter about telling the consumer financial protection bureau and federal trade commission to leave them alone.
Tip for consumers:
I personally didn't have an issue with Opensky not updating my account and paying my monthly bills was easy even using their new site. I had an issue with this credit card company when they actually took their time sending me the deposit back. I got check in the mail before Thanksgivings 2017. Also, these two companies helped me get my deposit back fast.

My credit score was 594,619, and 627, today I am seeing a huge difference in my scored with Equifax. I pay this credit card on time before time since I had this card and my score jumped from a 619 down to a 588. I have not done anything different while having this card. I am very disappointed in this card especially after I was speaking up on this card about how others were talking down, now I am not so sure about this card since my score has went down over 30 points and dont know why. I had this card to build up my credit not down. I am trying to be patient with this card, thinking my score will go back up and maybe higher. If my credit score dont improve while having this card, I will definitely give this card a very bad review and will encourage others to stay away from this card. I hoping this card is not effecting my score negatively...
Web site easy to use and make payments. No reason for them to hold payments for five days after receipt. But good so far.
I am looking to buy a house this year and like everyone else who got this card, my credit score was in the low 500's. I put $200.00 on the card to start and kept usage around 10-20% at the most. The most I had on this card was $40.00. Once I made a purchase I had to wait a few days to pay it off. I made sure the balance was 0 at the end of the month - no matter what. In addition, I had some negative reports on my credit history as well - which I challenged and had them removed. Some from length of time and others paid off. My credit score started to rise quickly. I then used experian boost (free service) which looks at my monthly subscriptions and bills that help my score. My score jumped 30+ points from that alone. I then received my first unsecured CC. $500 credit limit. Used it same way as open sky - no more than 20% usage ($100 max). Paid off right after it posts. I'm so use to paying for things on my debit card - I don't have the mindset to keep a balance. After about 3 months applied for another CC and got a $3000k credit limit. Waited another month and now I have another card with $1k. I rotate them and pay them off same as I did with my first that got me started. OpenSky increased my credit line to $500 with no additional deposit needed. The only negative thing I can say is that I would have like to see a free credit score attached to the app but all in all they help me get to a 738 from the low 500's in less than a year. Keep you usage below 20%, pay off the credit cards in full every month and you will be golden. I'm reading a lot of negative reviews based on overspending - which is not the companies fault.
So I just recently became a customer for first impressions this crediter is horrible they have no customer service skills. I applied and got approved and deposited the money when Iid that I callled to see how long it would take to create my account it took them two weeks to create my account then when it's been approved and I received a email letting me know I was. So I called because I had spoke to two separate employee representatives about having it overnighted to me or rushed they told me that was a option for me but then when I called today the supervisor was very rude she wasn't helpful shaneka needs to learn customer service I work in property management and real estate and I would never have a customer that I couldn't help them with a issue or come to some sort of resolution. I waited on the call for a hour and half just to speak to someone. When shaneka spoke to me she told me there was no other supervisor and that I'd have to wait on a call back. I think this is really ridiculous and highly unsatisfying. To me first impressions are everything I'm very much upset at the fact there telling me I now have to wait a entire 3 weeks almost just to received a credit card. Like I'm so upset and I won't be recommending this to anyone anytime soon. ESP just due to the lack of communication on open sky's behalf and your representatives need to be trained. I hope this makes it to corporate.
Tip for consumers:
Horrible customer service and the wait time and turn around time is absolutely atrocious and idk how you want your customer to be satisfied when you approved prospects and then making them wait a entire month this is not ok .

I'm just wondering because it's looking like it guys. How do I go about getting my money back and closing This crock of $#*!?
My identity got stolen and someone used my card. I had completely paid my credit card off and closed my account, I spoke to (Clair) to cancel my card also on APRIL 27th, 2021 I was charged a $38.00 Late Fee on JUNE10th, 2021. My next billing cycle is on JULY 9th, 2021 which I will get another Late Fee of $38.00.
I called today JUNE 24th, 2021 and spoke to Ms. Rhonda (RH 5) and her supervisor, Lagarie (LH 8), they are both telling me that "my card was never canceled and that a supervisor would have to listen to the conversation to take care of this and that would take 7-10 business days." I am extremely upset as this was already taken care of per (Clair) on APRIL 27th, 2021. I told them that I don't want to be charged again! Their response was "It shouldn't be but it "might" because of the 7-10 business day and the supervisor has to take care of this.
So NO, I wouldn't get this Credit Card.
I had a $200.00 limit but when I fell behind in payments they demanded a payment of $300.00. How can I owe more than my limit? DO NOT GET THIS CARD.
The same as any other basic secured Credit card. Would like for Credit limit to Menew faster and be able to make debit Card payments.

My payment has cleared my Bank account and NO email has been sent yet stating my payment has been received I don't know what your company is doing but your company needs to speed up the process and I mean QUICK. It would have been a week as of this Friday and I feel like this is going NO WHERE. I check my bank account three to four times a day and my check showed that it cleared on the 12th of April. So I should have got an email on Monday that my card is on its way. I have reported companies to the BBB before and I surely don't want to add this one to my list. And IF your cards are mailed from your PA headquarters it shouldn't take 10 days just for a card to come to me especially being that I live in PA as well too. And when I check my status it just says GOOD NEWS We've received your deposit uh no my deposit has already cleared. I feel like this is a SCAM to be honest. And by the way I'M A NEW MEMBER TO OPEN SKY and IF this is how you treat new members you're in for a surprise. I also check my emails three to four times a day and got nothing as well either. I find this to be VERY PATHETIC.
They are literally trying to steal a whole payment I just made I have to sue now I have bank statements to prove it they think we are stupid
It shouldn't take that long for my account to be credied, when my payment was debited from my bank account.
Yeah they said opensky are good but it was opposite that I was expected they said they dont run your credit Im just starting to build my credit history and beacuase of some reviews that they only ask for $ 200.00 security deposit which I prvided to them and later on they ask me to download my Bank account statement, the Colored copy of my social security card and also I provided them with the colored copy of my US Passport and now obviously they already have my personal information and my entire Identity suddenly after few days they ask me again to download the same documentation which is I provided them again for the second time. Now the bad news is they Denied my application for the reason that they couldn't verify my date of birth which is big B' S' thats why it turn out it was disappointment now what should I do because they have all my personal information and Identity hoping they wont sale or use it in any ways now they promise me that they will return my security deposit and untill now I haven't receive any refund yet shame to this company hope everyone think first before applying to this opensky secured credit card.
WARNING. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO APPLY! OR APPLY THESE REVIEWS ARE TRUE! A THUGGISH BANK! BANKING PRACTICE WILL TAKE YOU OFF COURSE.
I wasn't going to obtain a credit card because I didn't want to have to pay credit card bills but I went ahead and got this card with a $250 deposit to try to repair some of the damage done to my credit record by Navient / Sallie Mae, their lies, and student loans. Long story I won't go into.
I've only had the card about three months, but the card itself always works. Payments do take several days to process into available credit (something that actually baffles me in this day and age), but that isn't a problem. I don't really understand why other reviewers are posting such bad reviews. My experience with them has been nothing but positive so far. I typically pay the bill as soon as the statement comes out. My statements close on the 9th; the bill is due by the 6th of the following month. Paying on the 9th, 10th, or 11th gives the payment three weeks and a touch more to process.
I use it a little bit each month just to make sure I can have some kind of payment to make and something to report to the credit bureaus. Aside from that, it's kind of a nice feeling to know that I have $250 in emergency funds if something should come up. I know that won't go very far for car repairs, but it could get me into the dentist's office or something like that.
Perhaps if your money is so tight that you're immediately desperate for available credit only seconds after submitting a payment, this might not be the card for you. But if you've got a bit of surplus in your income and you can afford to part with your payment funds for a few days, and you can make the payment as soon as the statement comes out, I can't anticipate any problems.
So far, this credit card company has done exactly what they've advertised.
It takes them forever (week or more) to process your payment, so I tried to accelerate that by calling them and asking them to conference call with my bank to confirm my bank already sent them the payment.
Open Sky refused to do this, even though it is standard in the credit card industry to do this.
I had to FAX (yes, circa 1970's) proof that my bank sent them money.
The proof had to be something from the bank that said the payment was completely sent (pending bank transactions where you no longer have access to that money don't count), it had to have your address and name on it and account number and the non-pending transaction along with the before and after balance. Very picky.
They also had problems with their phone system so after I was on hold (with music) for 10 minutes, and they came back on the line, they couldn't hear me (I could hear them) and so they hung up within 5 seconds of first trying to hear me.
On my fifth call trying to meet all their picky/arbitrary demands, they said I would have to be on hold for 10+ minutes again just to get a supervisor who would presumably put me on hold another 10 minutes (their fax requirement means it takes them quite a while to see my faxes, probably because they have to load paper on their daisy wheel epson printer to print out a fax). They gave me the option of calling me back instead of me waiting 10 minutes to get the supervisor, and I said fine. Then they said I would get a call back within 48 hours!
So I waited on hold. The supervisor came on and said the latest additional info they wanted couldn't be read. Almost surely because they are relying on ancient fax technology since it reads just fine in the image file that I faxed them (using eFax because who has an ancient fax machine at home anymore?)
So I just faxed again, enlarging the print. And will be on the phone again (6th phone call and counting)...
OK, I guess with this company the motto is "6th time's the charm"
Finally got the hold removed on my payment to them.
Now I have my balance available so I can rent a car to get to work since my car died. They didn't care about any of that when I told them, and they still insist on their 1970's level of customer service.
TERRIBLE COMPANY.
