I read a number of their reviews before I wrote this one and it appears PayPal may operate in alternate universes. WOW, who knew! To a certain extent, it appears depending on how you use PayPal, you may or may not have a good experience. As a purchaser, mine could not have been better. Using PayPal, I recently made two purchases, from separate companies, one for $450 and one for $30. In each instance, I didn't receive the merchandise. I contacted PayPal and approximately 3-4 weeks later the full amount was credited to my checking account. No proof required; easy-peasy! That said, not being able to speak with someone when there's a problem can be extremely annoying.
My wife is currently having a problem trying to transfer money to her bank account which is in PayPal means but instead they put a 72 hour hold on our money. Naturally this has stressed my wife out and myself because we are trying to get a van today to hold our 4 children. She pleaded with a representative through there customer service line and he couldn't have been any more heartless and that's what PayPal calls customer service. Do yourself a favor never use this god awful site again save yourself like so many before you couldn't till it was to late!
After my account was frauded and deleted I was told to simply start a new account. All payments since then that have been sent to me have been withheld. This company is stealing or withholding money from its users. 12 hours of phone conversations to their call center which is clearly not based in the USA has given me nothing but headaches and zero return on my funds.
Two days on the telephone with paypal and no resolution. Foreign speaking persons who do not know their elbows from a hole in the ground. Redundancy, stupidity, incompetence, the same questions and the same non answers over and over again. Five customer service reps and a supervisor and still no one can resolve what should be a simple issue. I agree EFF paypal, they are the absolute worst for customer service. This is a classic example of running you in circles to exhaust you and frustrate you so you will just go away without resolving the problem. Someone needs to sue these dumb asses out of existence.
This is fantastic company just by the case that I was in need of something like you know making refund from some unreliable seller and that people were all on my side by many standarts and cases. Hopefully it will work out such well in future as well.
Awful people! Someone claim they did not purchase an item well over two months ago and paypal decided to give them there money back making my account into a negative! I provided them with tracking number and all the proof they needed but still did not work. Aweful!
I've had a PayPal account for years only because eBay insisted on it. After they haphazardly held my shipping funds several times I backed away from them.
Recently I started letting my clients pay me online through them until today. All of the sudden after over a decade they freeze my meager funds demanding answers as to what my payments are for, my photo ID, and photos of my "supplier" invoices and receipts.
For a $50. Payment for plumbing services rendered!
No such "Supplier or Reciepts" exists!
They say they won't ever consider my complaint until these demanded photos/documents are rendered.
I'm livid, what a scam.
I advise anyone reading my words to stay far away from PayPIRATE.
What a corporate thug.
I have been using PayPal a lot lately and they're improving in ways. But it's still pretty inconvenient at gas stations, where you have to go inside and prepay if you have less than 300$ or other high amount in your account. They've come a long way from being a small payment processor, and are now almost at the level of a major bank. But they could be more flexible.
I would recommend not trusting or relying on PayPal for protection from fraud. You are much safer to use your credit card. I purchased from eBay and never received my KOVEA stove. It's been 2 months. Item has not moved. They want me to wait another month. Do yourself a favor, shop local. Or if you must, don't use PayPal
A few years ago I was bitten by transfer my balance out to my linked checking account. I thought it should be free as all other similar services I had used, but Paypal did took a not small portion out of it. I didn't have time to complain but stopped using it on banking side.
Two days ago one friend sent me $130 it looked more shady this time: Paypal sent him notice saying I would get paid $130, and on my side I only got $125.9 after $4.1 fee deduction. This time I took time to check the company's fee policy, as I care about the mutual trust between us: It shouldn't take any fee based on the transaction type we did.
I guess that's how Paypal's good profit comes from, pretty shameful business.
The Customer Service are bad as hell, they dont lisen to you.
On average they process everything very slowly. One of the big
Turnings down for Ebay is the usage of Paypal.
After 10 years i was tired of Paypal. Just remove my account
And never ever will use this service again.
Worst. Not recommended
Have been locked out of my account so I created another and the same thing happened. The password recovery system that verifies whether the account owner is who they claim to be and not a hacker does not account for outdated phone numbers and e-mail addresses that change and makes the verification checks impossible to complete. It's unfortunate that so many people use Paypal exclusively these days so that everyone is forced to use it whether they dislike Paypal and its systems or not. Shame.
Paypal is by far the worst licenced money thief.

Even worse is that one cannot speak to a living human being ever. The $#*! Ed up computerised prefabricated answers are farfetched and ridiculous. It refunds idiot customers that supply ZERO evidence on complains. It never protects any seller. The stupid ceo is as unreachable as the stupid emoji resoinding to online complaints. Take good advice today. Paypal is $#*! Ing doomed. Move ur biz to transferwise
Ike someone already said
A good idea and a good business... turned bad after EBay purchase.
First of all... not insured (do NOT leave your $$$$ in your Paypal account)!
Second... do you ever wonder why it takes 4/5 days for any funds you transfer to go anywhere?, well...
Let just say... you transfer $ 100 from you bank to Paypal... it should take... hhhmmmm... no time at all... BUT your $100 stay for (at least 3 days in Paypal account... generating interests for Paypal. Now... multiply that $100 by a million of daily transactions and check how much $$$$ is Paypal making out of you $$$.
Then they want a credit card on file, but "they cannot use it to make a payment for you (yup... doing so... they would loose all the interests accrued on the...$$$ sitting in their account... but hey... after the acquisition by EBay... the same "modus operandi" is applied... and between EBay and Paypal... we are paying 17%... again... WAKE UP AMERICA!, OR SHOULD I say WORLD?
Had a few dealings with PayPal recently and I'm very pleased and pleasantly surprised as to their helpfulness and efficiency. They got me 3 separate refunds for unsatisfactory purchases in double quick time. A Big Thank You To PayPal. I hope you will continue being so helpful to you clients!
I want to thank Adam M. In PayPal Business Litigation. As a 23 year customer I know that sometimes a situation may arise, and it is greatly appreciated when someone like Adam steps in and resolves the matter.
The internet is filled with crappy sites and mediums that rip you of your money, and despite how seemingly smart I felt I was I still fell one of these scheming scams! But for Greg my friend that helped link me with a recovery expert, I do not know what I'll have done! Why cry over lost Money when you can most definitely recover it! You too can visit legalfraudrecovery.com. To make enquiries on how you can go about it!
I ordered some items from china on the net and paid with paypal. I only received 3 of the 5 items, and the ones I did receive were damaged, filed with paypal to get my money back was told to ship to a certain address which they gave me which I did insured. Nothing was done, finally today they ask for proof, I gave them my shipping receipt and the insurance, less than 10 minutes I get an e-mail saying case close in sellers favor,, wwhhhattt the hell. They said the proof was in valid, no way I mailed it though the USPS.
Paypal refused to help when I had an issue with a purchase despite me spending over an hour talking to multiple customer service agents. Now they allowed money to be received in my account, but blocked me from spending or accessing it. Why not just block the whole account then? Oh yeah, because then you can't scam the money from people. Literally thousands of posts of how they have scammed money from people this way. They should be shut down. They no longer provide security for purchases and then directly scam customers.

Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.
Answer: USPS delievered it to the wrong address my pacakge was supposed to be delievered too 35710 Bay Morgan Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 when USPS delivered it to an address simillar to this one 12354 Alcatal Street (do not know the exact address since they did not email me, but you can call USPS and ask, and that is how I found out) Fallbrook, CA 92028, right city and zip code, far away address.
Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
Answer: SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THAT LOT, THEY CLAIM TO REFUND AMOUNTS PAID FOR ITEMS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE THATS "BS" I HAVE HAD 3 SUCH CLAIMS FROM 14 TRANSACTIONS AND HAVE NEVER GOT A REFUND DESPITE THEIR CLAIMS, THEY ARE CROOKS, FULL STOP, KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THEM.
