Reminder of Bait and Switch Scam: a Conspiracy between AIKPRO. Limited (and some similar scammers in China) and Paypal. This just happened to me. I saw an advertisement on Facebook (yes, on this website) that a company AIKPRO sells a nice Foldable Picnic Table Set. I think it is nice to have one. So I ordered one at U$26.98 = A$ 41.48. After 3 weeks or so I received a cheap watche which is worth about $3 if I buy it in China. Firstly I was confused as I never ordered a watch, so I contacted the courier to give me more details of the sender. (I have email correspondence). In the meantime I also approach to seller by sending an email which was on their website, but the email address was wrong and the mail didn't delivered.
I came to realize that this is a bait and switch scam. So I turned to Paypal and filed a complaint and i ask full refund.
After 2 days the seller responded through Paypal that it can offer US$10 as a partial refund which i refused. I was continuously in contact with Paypal customer service and sorry to say was treated like a s***t statements like " May I refresh your memory" by Jocelyn.
Finally i was told by Paypal that seller is ready to refund full but i have to send the cheap watch back which i never ordered and bear the shipment cost.
Well, exactly like what this AIKPRO customer service were slow, Paypal told me that I need to return the product to the seller in order to ask for a full refund, according to its customer service policy. So I refused to return the product and asked for a full refund, pointing out to Paypal this is a typical bait and switch scam. Paypal simply ignored me.
It is amazing that Paypal keeps standing on the scammer side, ignoring the alerts, and continuing to encourage the scam. Now the scammer continue to scam with different company names. Paypal even deleted the scammer information from its community as a sign of sustainable support to the scammers. This is outrageous. (Please google with "aikpro limited site on community.com to find out more).
I have been a satisfied customer of PayPal since 2004! Most of the time I was treated fairly, probably around 90% of the time their explanation was all right. Within the last year or so they have changed. My credit rating is above 800, and my credit limit with them was just under 8000. 00. I started noticing something amiss when I had accumulated around 4500. 00 in winning playing PayPal supported (or so indicated) was not showing even though the transaction said the money had been transferred. I called them and their answer was vague. That seemed to have started all this nonsense!
The next thing I noticed; I received a letter stating my PayPal account was suspended. When I started attempting to find out what was happening, then suddenly, I cannot contact anyone. You would immediately go into the "Que" with no possibility of talking to anyone! I began attempting to contact them with no luck and then started trying to find out through their online help desk. The one article I read stated that with account limitations-an explanation would or should be following by email!
After two weeks of this, I gave up stayed on hold for almost two hours trying to get an answer. I actually got a person to talk to me. It seems they do not allow a virtual private network. The VPN was recommended because I travel and was fearful my information over public networks could be compromised. As a matter of fact, the very reason I used a VPN was to protect my data and this seemed like the best solution.
Would not anyone think an email message would have been nice; just alert a user of over 15 years. But I guess this requires effort and just did not want to bother. All $ and nothing else. To get an explanation from them!
In September I asked PayPal to investigate a transaction with Paddle.com. It was system software that I could not get to install on my computer. It seems that if you take delivery of software it is considered as completion of the order regardless of whether it works or not. In this case, their techs could not get it to install either after 3 of their techs tried to get it installed. Finally, I told them I would prefer a refund. This PayPal was unlike the company I started with.
It seemed coincidental that after I called them about the funds that were not transferred, and then the resolution problem that they refused to adjust………. THEN and only then my account was placed under limitation! Now I cannot get anything at all from them. I do not know if the amount is the problem or the VPN; but this is the main reason people use a VPN!
This is not the PayPal I started using in 2004, Non-receptive, unhelpful, and oblivious to an individual user and their needs. Seems to ruin the comfort of having an ally on internet purchases.
At this point, I will not allow PayPal to handle any money for me in the future.
I bought something using paypal to pay for it and i never received the item. Then when i investigated it i realized i was scammed by some person. The original website i visited was lysol.com but the payment was directed to some dubious persons AOL email. Then i filed a dispute for the amount and didnt hear back for a month when a sudden email notified me that the case was closed and it was ruled in favor of the seller because they provided a tracking number that was had details from amazon to my town that opened 2 days after i had filed the complain. Also, after i bought these items they never gave me a confirmation email or delivery updates at all. Then i called them and they said they would go and see if the tracking number was valid. I waited another month with no updates so i contact them again. Now they tell me i have to contact USPS to get the info and upload to their website to prove i did not receive it. The reason i used paypal to pay was that it was convenient. Now that they asked me to jump through all these hoops to get my money back... looking back at it i should have just pulled out my credit card and paid for it... Now about them NOT BEING TRUSTWORTHY... i told them about what had transpired with the fake website and all and they sort of glossed over it like i was crazy and said they will investigate this seller and see if he/she had other similar activities. The fact that i have been using paypal for a long time with other transactions of greater amounts with no issues didnt seem to make my claim anymore credible then a tracking number with no details. This is the company that i trusted my bank account to. Mind you this is only a second time that this occurred. I should have learned my lesson with paypal the first time around.
Horrible customer service. This department is sent to over seas (out of USA) who barely speaks English and does not allow escalation for an IT issue.
Paypal is amizing good for buy and sell and safe money and credit card and contact supourt very very speed is amazing
DO NOT USE PAYPAL! I had confidence in them, I was referred by a friend. They have taken my money 4 times. I hope KARMA pays them a visit. Thieves!
This website is WONDERFUL. They have gotten my money back every time I've had a problem. I will use PAYPAL for all my purchases alison k
I don't really know Paypal that well, I used to be registered, but I closed that a year ago, after years of my account being dormant. What happened with me (recently) was-I suddenly received an email notice from Paypal, which is ignored the first time I saw it because I thought it was just some junk email.
I just sold an item on ebay, as I haven't sold anything for years, and the payment wasn't shown in my bank account. I checked my email account again, and saw the Paypal email again; I clicked on it, and saw that they're *holding on to the payment*...
I contacted them about it, mainly because that payment *includes the shipping money*! They gave some nonsense reasoning about secuirty and protection. The only way to release the money, is to deliver the sold item. Nooooo, that's not shady...
What's worse is, ebay is now in bed with Paypal, which means that ebay might be screwing around.
*Update*
While editing this review with an update the day after I submitted, is strange, I've just learned that Paypal held on to money from an item the buyer received nearly two weeks ago. I decided to contact the buyer yesterdat, after checking my Paypal wallet, and that listing suddenly reappeared upon contacting the buyer.
Yeah, a little suspicious...
(Update): A recent action of Paypal is taking money from my bank account, claiming it to be a fee for this "Global Shipping Program". This fee was not included in the ebay listing or the invoice. The seller said he didn't use such a company (or whatever it is). The listing in my bank account is separate from the item payment, and only says Paypal. Contacting ebay, they said it's Paypal's doing, while contacting Paypal, they point at ebay.
THIS ENTIRE COMPANY IS RUN BY BUFFOONS WHO BARELY SPEAK ENGLISH AND SCAM YOU! THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER IF YOUR TRYING TO RUN A BUSINESS.
Money grabbing a**holes who don't care about anyone else but there own silver spooned fed a**
DO NOT USE, USE STRIPE THEY ARE WAY BETTER
They are scammers Don't ever use Paypal
They blocked my account and asked for all private information possible
They are dangerous
I went to send my friend/land lord my rent check through PayPal, this was on the 5th of the month. PayPal said he wouldn't receive it until the 23rd of the month. I walked away to call my landlord and see what he wanted to do. Came back and went back, entered his email, entered the amount and clicked continue to go back to the page where it said how long before he would receive it and BOOM it put the transaction through. I called my landlord and he IMMEDIATELY canceled the payment request. Low and behold PayPal waited 3 days to take the money out of my account, now they need 5 days to "verify the request" and 5 days to return the money, which can take up to 21 days according to their customer service recording. I called in and they said there was nothing to be done, the request was automatic, even though it was cancelled literally immediately. There is no need for 15 days minimum for a transaction that was cancelled to resolve, there is no company in the world that takes that long to get money worked around and it's not for security reasons I can tell you that. Once it leaves my account there is no security needed, that opening has already been guarded or exploited. Seriously, PayPal has gone down hill since Elon Musk sold, USE DWOLLA INSTEAD. Way better! Check out PayPals' BBB rating, it's terrible
Paypal is most popular now. But they hold my payment for 21 days. It's very long time for me...
People think that to buy in ebay is safe due to the feedbacks, and all the fortune of ebay is based on this
But this is false, for these reasons:
1
The feedback are anonimized, you can't see the nick of the ebayer who released a feedback and is impossible to contact it in order to ask for clarification
2
The feedback is too short, just 80 characters, so impossible to describe whats happened
3
Ebay remove the negative feedback of the sellers with a good business, at the request of the seller
4 often the unhappy buyers, do not release a negative feedback, because they are afraid of receiving a negative feedback from the seller, for this reason, seller wait until the buyer release a good feedback, and only then he release a good feedback for the buyer
DO NOT TRUST EBAY, AND DO NUT BUY NOTHING ON EBAY, AS ALL THE PRICES ARE CHARGED OF 14% (10% EBAY FEE PLUS 4% PAYPAL FEE)
EACH PROFESSIONAL SELLER OWN A PROPRIETARY WEB PAGE AND THE PRIVATE EBAYERS ALMOST ALWAYS HAVE THE SAME ITEM LISTED ON OTHER SITES, AS GUMTREE FOR EXAMPLE, SO SIMPLY SEARCH THE SAME ITEM OUT OF EBAY, AND YOU WILL SAVE 14% OR MORE
DONT USE THESE THIEFS... NO BUyer PROTECTION AT ALL
SCREW U AND UR RICH OWNER... provided all evidence to my case yet u sided with seller
They randomly kept over a thousand dollars once I got a few returns. Held it for 6 months.
They ban people without providing any kind of reason. Also, they can block your funds fir 180 days whenever they want; AVOID AT ALL COST!
I did everything by the book, and by their rules.
I bought a guitar online for $4,000 by having the seller send me a paypal invoice
Paypal terms say that I am protected if the seller sends me a counterfeit item and there is a Paypal invoice for the transaction (there is)
The seller sent me a counterfeit guitar.
Paypal told me to get documented proof from a guitar repair person and to send the guitar back with signature proof of delivery. Paypal told me to upload both documents to Paypal. I did both
Multiple representatives told me that I did what was asked and that I'd be refunded in a few days, but they have no power because the mysterious "back office" is handling this claim due to it being over 1,000 dollars. Back office has no emails and no phones accessible apparently
After talking to 10 people and calling for 4 weeks, Paypal denied my claim. Each person I spoke to said a different BS reason
Reason 1: The signature at the address wasn't from the person who sent the guitar (there is nothing in their policy that dictates who the signature needs to be from, and a rep on the phone verified that
Reason 2: I didn't provide tracking and delivery confirmation info (I know, ironic how they could claim #1 and #2 at the same time. I resent them the info, and they re-confirmed that I in fact sent the correct info
Reason 3: That the guitar was a "resale" (again, nothing in their policy saying anything about that exluding me from buyer protection. I verified with a rep on the phone that this was BS)
Reason 4: I had someone repair the guitar (uh, what? This is bogus and not true)
I called back, again, and reopened the case, but the whole process is just starting over again, with little hope for me I fear. Don't know what to do
After my account was frozen, PayPal has taken the entire money frozen in my account. No communication and no emails about the money stolen. When I enquired - I got an auto-generated email

I understand that your funds were not withdrawn to your bank account after 180 days. This is because if you violate the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP), we may debit your PayPal account up to $2,500 USD for each such violation and may take legal action against you to recover additional losses we incur. We have debited $ XXXXX USD from your PayPal balance towards the violation of the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
When you accepted the PayPal User Agreement you agreed that $2,500 USD per AUP violation is a reasonable minimum estimate of PayPal's actual damages, considering all currently existing circumstances, including the relationship of the sum to the range of harm to PayPal that reasonably could be anticipated because, due to the nature of the violations of the Acceptable Use Policy, actual damages would be impractical or extremely difficult to calculate. PayPal may deduct such damages directly from any existing PayPal balance in any PayPal Account you created, own and or control.
The specific activities that may subject you to an assessment of damages by PayPal can be found in the Acceptable Use Policy.

Answer: I would not recommend PayPal to anyone for anything they're a joke of a business
Answer: Paypal will NOT be on your side if the item is not as described. I bought an item that was totally wrong, advertised as "handmade, hand quilted, made of brushed Kona cotton", picture was beautiful with wonderful quilting and vibrant colors and I was buying from a company from Texas. I received an item from Texas, not handmade, not hand quilted, not vibrant colors, not brushed cotton and it was just a picture printed on cheap polyester/nylon fabric. Hideous. I paid $99.90. Company first offered to refund $30, nope, still way too expensive for a cheap quilt that I wouldn't even use for my pets. Then said if I return the "quilt" to China at my expense they would refund the money. Cost to return? $70. Paypal agreed with this company, denied my claim and I'm sitting here with something I would feel cheated if I paid $10. Paypal is not the company it once was. Use your credit card as that company will have your back. Looking to see what a better option is than Paypal. 20 year customer and I'm done. I do not think anyone actually reads our messages to Paypal.
Answer: They have become a money laundry scamming allowing company. Stay away at any cost.
Answer: USPS delievered it to the wrong address my pacakge was supposed to be delievered too 35710 Bay Morgan Ln, Fallbrook, CA 92028 when USPS delivered it to an address simillar to this one 12354 Alcatal Street (do not know the exact address since they did not email me, but you can call USPS and ask, and that is how I found out) Fallbrook, CA 92028, right city and zip code, far away address.
Answer: I'm thinking someone has to work there, if you send messages you will get a canned reply, I get the same response from 10 messages, basically "suck it up buttercup, you have just been played" but if you try to actually talk to a person good luck.
Answer: They dont. They wait for you to forget it. You get money back if you fill in a form after 180 days.
Answer: Do never send money to PayPal. That money is lost. This company has become a Giants money laundry company.
Answer: No there is not. PayPal protects scammers. Be sure to never use them.
Answer: It doesn't matter if you report them or not PayPal won't do nothing about it they continued to let the scammers operate on their site and do not protect consumers
Answer: SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE WITH THAT LOT, THEY CLAIM TO REFUND AMOUNTS PAID FOR ITEMS THAT DO NOT ARRIVE THATS "BS" I HAVE HAD 3 SUCH CLAIMS FROM 14 TRANSACTIONS AND HAVE NEVER GOT A REFUND DESPITE THEIR CLAIMS, THEY ARE CROOKS, FULL STOP, KEEP WELL CLEAR OF THEM.
