Be aware of false advertisement Poshmark allows. I bought pajama showing both top and pants on the picture and I only received the top. Poshmark is not helping me with this issue. They won't allow me to return it and get money back. I totally overpaid for a used piece of pajama top.

I'd advise everyone to avoid poshmark if your planning on mainly selling. I couldn't believe it when I had a bad rating from a buyer who was lying (I had proof) and there was nothing I could do about. They wasn't even asked to me provide proof! That one bad rating instantly had an affect on my sales, yet there's no way to dispute it. Also the fees are ridiculously high, to make anything from a sale you have to increase the price you sell it for. I will say some of the bad reviews poshmark has recieved on here aren't fair. They clearly state they don't do returns at all so the reviews that complain about not being able to return something is there own fault. Also claiming they got scammed and lost money after purchasing an item but admit the listing itself was confusing is not poshmarks fault. I see more and more lately just plain stupid. What is the world coming too I only did this review so there's at least 1 honest opinion/experience that is genuine and deserved rating for poshmark that's actually poshmarks fault

Unfortunately, I feel like most of the users don't play by the rules.
Recently there was a sweater I almost bought twice but thought it was overpriced. I made an offer to the seller of a few dollars less than the original price because she said it was negotiable.
If she didn't take my offer, I would have given up and bought the sweater at her price. However, rather than actually declining my offer, she let it sit for 16 hours without responding and someone else ended up buying it in that time. To say I'm furious is an understatement. Have the decency to respond to people interested in your items if you're going to run a closet, don't just wait for someone to pay full price, especially if you mark it as negotiable.

Other than that, I'm confused as to whether people ACTUALLY buy anything on Poshmark. I have several unused, designer items sitting in my closet for $20 or less and they have garnered a few likes and shares but not one person has even hinted at buying anything.

If these women actually played by the rules and used Poshmark as a place to buy discounted clothing and run a little "store" rather than as an app to window shop in, maybe I would be giving a good review right now.

I'm also sick of the bigger poshers having like three items for sale while the rest of their closet is filled with pictures of themselves showing off clothes that they're not interested in selling. I found one woman that had great dresses, unfortunately about 75% of her closet was just pictures of her wearing these "rare" Modcloth dresses that she'd been searching for. I'm sorry, I didn't realize we were playing Pokemon with designer clothing, I thought this was a website akin to Etsy where women can sell their old clothes. I wonder where I got that idea... oh right, Poshmark's mission statement.

My ultimate review of Poshmark: It's an app where housewives retreat to compliment other women on their designer clothes rather than actually selling anything of any value. And if, by the pure grace of God, they do having something for sale, it's a worn designer dress that they bought for $200 five years ago and are now trying to pawn off for $90 even though it's used. And absolutely no one knows how to run a damn store.

Poshmark has not been worth my time and effort, as a seller. They think they can run a market site like a social media platform, and the idea fails miserably. It's a high-school like atmosphere where sellers sabotage each other by stalking their rivals' listings and falsely reporting them as counterfeit. Poshmark doesn't even review items reported as counterfeit themselves. They send pictures out to random people on the app and ask them if they think it's counterfeit. How are random people supposed to know what a counterfeit luxury item looks like? Meanwhile, actual counterfeits run rampant and are not reported because counterfeiters know how to make professional looking listings that will fool most users. When you send an item over $500 to Poshmark to be authenticated by employees, you may still have a problem, as they have been known to claim that genuine items, with receipts and documentation, are counterfeit. Then they refuse to send them back to you; essentially stealing your genuine items. I sold luxury items on Poshmark and I think the luxury market is where their biggest problem is. The site is absolutely overrun by people reselling used makeup and cheap clothes from thrift store bins, who mistag their items with expensive brand names. So if you search a certain item, chances are it will be buried under a mountain of things you have absolutely no interest in. If you do find a listing for the item you want, good luck, it's likely a counterfeit that flew under the radar with minimal effort. For sellers, I would recommend extreme caution. Poshmark buyers have been known to buy an item, wear it for one event, and then stain or even destroy it so they can file a return. In many cases they will send you back a counterfeit dupe of the item you sold them. Scammers gravitate to Poshmark over other platforms because they don't face any consequences. Poshmark will take their side regardless of the evidence presented, hanging honest sellers out to dry. I have never had issues like these on any other luxury resale platform.

I once had Poshmark downloaded on my phone, I made some decent pocket money, and then people were being ridiculous with asking to lower the price, I got sick of people asking stupid questions, or not looking at the photos and descriptions, and I deleted it. Fast forward a few years later, I re download it. I bought a house, I was getting rid of clothes, and I figured I'd make a little extra cash in the process. Now, this is no side job for me by any means, but it can't hurt to make some money off the clothes I take care of, or grown tired of right? Isn't that the point of this app?
But of course, I sell a nice sweater, a sweater that goes for $120. I list it for $50, then I lower the price. I sell it for $40 I listed 3 pictures, it showed that the sweater had pilling, and if the consumer opened the photos and looked she would have seen it right away. It's a used sweater, it happens. But isn't it the consumers job to look over the product before they hit "buy?" She recieves the sweater, complains to poshmark that it smells terribly ( I call BS I just got it back in the mail and my husband and I smelled it, it doesn't smell.) We also are smoke free, I have never had anyone say the clothes I've sold on there smelled bad. I'm insulted, yeah I am, I may sound silly but IDGAF. I take care of my clothes, and I take pride in that. Don't dare call me "dirty" or "Smelly" But alas, I contact poshmark to dispute, I provide the pictures and I never hear back, EVER. Until they tell me they are siding with the buyer. Ummm, okay. Thanks a lot Poshmark. Again you have disappointed me. Do you ever take the time to concact the seller to see what the deal is? Your customer service sucks! I will be deleting your app, and I wont' be redowloading it. I know you don't care but I still want you to know. And anyone out there reading it, rolling your eyes that I'm whining, best of luck to you out there selling used stuff, its' a jungle out there!

I just started selling on the site a couple weeks ago and most of the buyers where great. I had quite a few name brand purses some of which where just like new. I had a buyer claim that I sent her a damaged Patricia Nash purse which is not true. Poshmark only responded to me with automated emails. I ask to see the photos of the damage because I know the hardware, which she claimed, was damaged was not. I even submitted all my photos where you can clearly see no damage to the hardware... still nothing. Then yesterday I get an email that tells me they are refunding her money because she proved her claim and there was damage. So now I am waiting to see what exactly I am getting back... since my purse was hardly used. If your thinking of trying this site BEWARE! I am currently waiting on the remaining money to clear and once it does I will be deleting my info and the app.

Update---I had to give them a star which if given the choice they would get no stars... this is an update to my original review. So I reviewed them on their customer service And on their response to the damage the buyer claimed to my Patricia Nash purse... so got the purse back and she pried off one of my studs. Why you ask? So do I all I got back was the back of the stud which u could clearly see she had pried off the beautiful brass stud from the front of my purse. But again Poshmark sided with her then had the audacity to offer me $10 for my troubles... seriously? I sold this purse lower but that doesn't change the value... again I do not Like people who have no moral compass and that would be this buyer. But the worst is Poshmark's stance... let me just say that any good name brand selling site needs sellers. No good seller will put up with this and that would be why Poshmark is full and I mean FULL of fraudulent products. BUYER BEWARE... SELLERS BEWARE!

I did not receive the item purchased from Poshmark Canada and reached out to the Poshmark customer service via email (*******@poshmark.com). Over a period of almost 4 weeks we communicated back and forth, where they had asked me to reach out to my mail carrier (Canada Post) and file a complaint and get back to them, which I did and then was told they would settle my account in less than two weeks.
When I hadn't heard back from them, I emailed them and I got a reply (phot attached) that read "Hi there, thanks for following up. Unfortunately, we could not obtain any additional information to signify that this package was not correctly delivered. Please note that Poshmark is not responsible to orders that have been lost or stolen after USPS marks a package as delivered. If you suspect that your package has been stolen we suggest that you file a claim with your homeowners insurance, they should be able to cover you in these types of situations. You are able to file a police report with your local police department. Once an officer has been assigned to your case please have them contact us directly at *******@poshmark.com and we will be able to further assist them. Thank you for your patience and understanding".
For one: USPS was not the carrier.
For two: NO retailer ever has asked police to intervene nor do I think an officer would reach out to Poshmark.
And three: It's fraudulent to claim something under my home insurance for an item I never received. This is a heads up for anyone who is thinking about using Poshmark as a buyer or seller. I had a 5-star seller rating from multiple buyers and had no issues as a user until I didn't receive my purchase - and as you can see they acted outside of any laws or regulations set out for them to adhere to. DO NOT use this company as they take 20% of your sale, collect overpriced shipping costs, ask for ID that is not verified as safe to provide (i. E.: there is nothing to verify that they do not share your identification with a third party) and if you order something and it is not received (as in my case) and/or is fake you are likely to get the same response from their "stellar" customer service.

Ahhh. If you are comfortable selling your brand new with tags Michael Kors bag for $40, then this site is for you! Even better, how about you trade your new Michael Kors handbag for... NOTHING. The other person doesn't send you the item you agreed to trade. While Poshmark discourages this, it is allowed to happen.

When I first found the site, I liked it. Today, it seems like a bunch of teenagers trying to trade their junk for your designer items or buy your designer items for 5% of their value.
No thanks.

The site is not very user friendly. You are not able to list with your computer. It is strictly app based with I find very inconvenient. If you want others to see your items, you have to manually share each. Individual. Listing. My fingers would throb when I was finished.

Customer service is fast and efficient and very good about refunding when you receive an item that is not as described. I've found some great deals and only had a couple of bad experiences buying.

Poshmark takes me back to high school. The "popular" kids get all the attention. Host all the parties, choose host pics. In other words, decide whose listings get special exposure.

Selling is not worth your time unless you are really hard up for cash and don't mind selling your items at values that are much, much lower than you'd receive at a consignment shop. After all the work to list and share, it's just not worth it. I've noticed they are making some changes so I will stick around a bit longer and see if it gets better.

Buying: You can find great deals but be careful, replicas are everywhere. Do your homework. My first purchase was a 100% authentic coach bag that the seller purchased herself from Coach. I didn't even have to take it completely out of the box to know it was fake... and a badddd bad fake. Posh was great about letting me return it though.

I have never left a bad review for anyone in my life. Let me just start by saying that I just started selling on poshmark. Getting rid of some old clothes and making a few extra bucks is good. Plus there's some good finds on there. Anyway after making some money I wanted to transfer it into my bank account. Poshmark says they are sending me a verification code to confirm my identity and then I can transfer my funds. I made several requests to receive my codes and NADA, ZERO. After a few hours of waiting I decided to reach out to their customer service. IT HAS BEEN 5 DAYS NOW AND I HAVE GOTTEN 2 RESPONSES AFTER ABOUT 12 EMAILS BEING SENT TO THEM STATING THEY NEED SOME BASIC INFO FROM ME TO HELP. I HAVE REPLIED TO THEIR EMAILS AND GOTTEN ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE BACK. FOR A COMPANY THAT GETS A TON OF MONEY OFF OF PEOPLE WITH THEIR PRETTY HEFTY % FEE AND SHIPPING ETC THERE IS NO REASON WHY THEY CAN'T HAVE A PHONE SERVICE. IRONIC PART OF IT IS I CAN SPEND MY POSHMARK MONEY ON POSHMARK I JUST CAN'T ACCESS IT (HA WHAT A SHOCK) THIS IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE IVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH MY ENTIRE 26 YEARS OF LIFE. I WAITED DAYS FOR AN EMAIL RESPONSE TO SOMEONE WHO ISN'T CHECKING TO RESPOND. DISGUSTING. UNPROFESSIONAL AND A SCAM. AND TO ANYONE SAYING OH PEOPLE ON THIS WEBSITE COMPLAIN I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT THIS WEBSITE IS SO SHUT YA MOUTH AND GET ON POSHMARK THEN COME TALK TO ME $#*!.

This site is horrible. If you buy things the sellers are completely desperate but take forever to ship. So lazy. They get offended if you ask when will they ship. Bundles ads everywhere. Live shows reminders constantly. Baby like mentality. Like and share on and on and on and. It never stops. Share my five dollar item and you share my hundred dollar item. The site is plain insane. Buyers put your stuff in their bundles then sit back feeling all entitled that you will offer them a discount on a ten dollar item and cheaper shipping. Are you serious. Spending money on packing materials. Gas to go mail the thing plus you get my item for four bucks. Wow I made a under three dollars for all that work. Customer service pretty much nothing at all. Just bots. Way over price items. Photos of items the sellers don't have. You end up purchasing the photo and waiting for them to receive the item from sites like shown. Wish and temu. You can usual tell a nightmare purchase by the photo. It's from one of those sites. If it doesn't get delivered to the seller on time it like pulling teeth and a huge process to get refunded for non shipment. In the long run you have just tied up your credit or debit card for at least two weeks. If you ask the seller when they ship. They say tomorrow. You purchase and it doesn't get ship you get no further responses from the seller or if you do it's offensive to you. Yes very desperate sellers. The site is vast and just makes me realize how many lazy individuals are really out there. Stay at home people who don't have real jobs. Poshmark is a full time job. But really like a hamster on a spinning wheel going nowhere. Very crazy thing to get involved with.

A seller was rude, unkind, blocked me for asking to cancel a purchase 1 minute after I mistakenly countered an offer and the seller accepted immediately. This seller is a Posh ambassador, but was very rude to me and told me I should cancel the purchase myself and that she wouldn't respond a minute after she accepted because she doesn't live on Posh. She kept ignoring my requests for a while. The system wouldn't let me cancel within 3 hours as it should have since it was based on an offer and she was ignoring my explanations until the 3 hours had lapsed. I went to Posh support and they told me to contact the seller. Waste of time and energy on all ends. Infuriating experience. None of them were listening. Not the seller and not support. The seller was so obnoxious that she insulted me by sending me a nasty message and then blocked me so I couldn't respond. Poshmark will do anything to hang in to your money as long as possible. They drag their feet on refunding as long as they can. Disgusted with their support. The seller's Posh name is mymoderncloset5 and the support rep's name is Sokthy

I am very new to selling on Poshmark. This so called company offers absolutely no help to the seller or buyer. If a problem arises they offer no help and e-mail you a generic form letter saying they are experiencing a high volume of customer inquiries. They will get back you as soon as possible. Which is in 4 -7 days! With another generic e-mail. As I said I just started selling on Poshmark only 9 weeks ago. I have ran into 4 different issues. 2 similar to what other reviewers have stated. Please let me first say I have never smoked in my life. My husband does not smoke. Nobody has ever smoked in our home. The first problem a woman bought a "bundle" 3 dresses from me. A Free People dress brand new with tags. Another popular brand summer dress, again brand new with tags. And a Johnny Was dress worn twice. This order came to around $175. The buyer claimed they all smelled like smoke and had stains on all the dresses. So she took of all the tags and washed them. Then contacted Poshmark with her claims. She returned all 3 dresses to me. All of them a wrinkled mess And one with loose threads everywhere. I repeatedly contacted Poshmark explaining I and my husband do not smoke. Her claims were impossible. And finally said the buyer is lying. I also told Poshmark I am now out the money for the 3 dresses to. When they finally got around to getting ahold of me. Of course they sided with the buyer. But they wanted to give me a 15$ in Poshmark points? Great that helped and solved everything. I have had 2 other incidents with Poshmark with again no help or concern. We the sellers and buyers are what help keep this company in business. Why can't they help us? They have NO personal customer service. They refuse to get back to anyone in a timely manner. How and why are they staying in business? I apologize for the long "review" Thank you

I purchased approx. A doz items. A few were less "likeable" than what I was expecting? My complaint is that their are TOO MANY emails from other POSHMARK members invitations to POSHMARK online PARTIES, and I had absolutely no interest in attending ANY OF THEM. And no way to STOP receiving the daily flurry of invitations. ALSO, all items were really NOT RETURNABLE if they didn't fit or not to my liking? I contested a pr of tennis shoes that were not the size I ordered? More like a kid's size 8? POSHMARK needs to be somewhat flexible with their rules about receiving invitations for parties and an opt out option? And items need to be returnable, if the Seller wants to sell them that way? Also, NO WAY to delete all the invitations and other emails on the site. A member could get 100's of invitations a day, I guess? POSHMARK does not begin to compare to EBAY. NO real way to contact "management" either for SUGGESTIONS. I tried to sell a few itmes for a couple of weeks. Not one offer? EBAY rules the market, don't waste your time with POSHMARK, unless you like attending "virtual": merchandise parties?

Tip for consumers:
POSHMARK really promotes their online merchandise being sold by other members by online POSHMARK PARTIES. And a person who buys something receives 100's of invitations to these member's online POSHMARK PARTIES. I was not interested in attending ANY of the these parties? And no way to opt out of receiving invitations? Shipping was TOO HIGH for a lot of the items I purchased. Slow Shipping on a few. And no way to delete any emails on my account. Or any way to opt out of the POSHMARK PARTIES?

I sold a Burberry jacket and the buyer claimed that I listed the size incorrectly and requested a refund. I asked for photo evidence, which they did not provide, and I also asked the buyer what her issue with the item was and she admitted that it just didn't fit the way she wanted it to, NOT that I had sent her the incorrect item or that I had a misleading listing. Poshmark approved her case and I will not receive funds for the item and the buyer has to send the item back but there is no guarantee I will receive it (I have not received items as a buyer before though they claim they were delivered- luckily they comped me anyway in those situations). The buyer blatantly violated their terms and Poshmark violated their own terms. I broadcasted this to my followers and Poshmark removed my messages and has threatened to delete my account. This business is unethical and I am not even sure I will get my item back in good condition, if at all! Their customer service is inept and copies and pastes replies rather than looking at each individual case. I wish I had seen these reviews first - it looks like they always side with the buyer no matter what! UNETHICAL! DON'T SELL HERE!

I've been using Poshmark for a couple of years now, and have mostly had positive experiences as both a buyer and a seller.

As a buyer, probably 98% of the time I get exactly what was listed and described with no issues. Of the other 2%, all of those have been satisfactorily resolved for me (either returned, credit or some other agreeable solution).

As I seller, I have only had a couple of instances where someone filed a complaint. One of these was where the buyer did not like the fact the item did not fit them even though the sizing and measurements were described and pictured in the listing. PM sided with me and I kept my earnings. Several times I have had someone wait until the very last second to try and scam me, but again I have always been supported by PM.

The real dissatisfaction comes from a couple of sources...

1) EVERYBODY tries to lowball the price. I list name brand shoes in larger sizes (Nine West in 11 or 12 for example). Most of these are new, many still in the original box and wrapping. Typically NW shoes run $79+ when purchased new. I have listed, along with photo evidence of my paying this much, shoes at a price of $30, $35 or maybe $40 dollars. HALF PRICE! And what kind of offers do I get? One pair I paid $89, listed for $40 and received not one, not two but three offers of $15 or less (one offer was for $5!). I get that PM promotes this kind of behavior, but be realistic about it.

2) I generally ship same day, next day at the latest when I sell something. It's delivered to the buyer in 2-3 days and then they take 3 days to accept it (if they even bother). So to get paid can take 5-6 business days.

3) Sellers who have 10-15 items listed will take 7 days to ship an item that I paid for... like, they are really that busy? I get that most people can't ship same day, but is it really that hard to ship within 2-3 days?

So, after several years of being mostly satisfied but seeing the downward trend... I'm moving on. Which means they little bit of money earned by PM from my buying or selling will be going elsewhere. Not that I believe that will actually care, but...

After hundreds of reports to Poshmark, I have given up. They are allowing fake sellers with fake accounts from China to sell replica bags which is illegal. I have now reported the company to the BBB. They are defrauding consumers in advertising fake products and allowing them to do it. Here is what is happening on that site. They are allowing fake bags from China to be sold which is illegal. They are allowing people to create fake accounts under fake names to sell those items. The sellers are from another country and ripping off consumers. I have flagged over 500 accounts to date of fake sales, sellers who are committing a crime by selling replica bags in the US - as it is a US-based company. I have reported the sellers multiple times and never have they taken down the accounts as I have made notes along the way of whom Ive reported. I have filed a claim with the BBB for an investigation into the deceptive practices of this company. I am a web developer, I offered them a simple solution that would end this issue but they would not even hear it. Its simple to auto-flag accounts with multiple sellers with multiple fake accounts. It's simple to flag fake bags by putting filters within their system that flags anything brand new advertised as Chanel, LV, Gucci selling under 300. That would end a majority of fraud, but they refuse to do this. They could ask for proper IDs for any seller and make them set up a PayPal account directly with their company that flows through their company as ebay does to verify sellers. It needs to be revamped or they need to be sued and that is the only way they will listen. Its up to the public to make enough complaints to the governmental authorities for them to listen.
