Be aware of false advertisement Poshmark allows. I bought pajama showing both top and pants on the picture and I only received the top. Poshmark is not helping me with this issue. They won't allow me to return it and get money back. I totally overpaid for a used piece of pajama top.

I am a seller and a purchaser on Poshmark. I have purchased a few so-so items and purchased some great items. I personally understand some of the reviews. Others, it is more that you needed to learn how to used the site or the app. Now, I do see the point that they really do no aide new customers in this process. For example, when looking at a seller's closet, you can click on the photo and see our profile. Not only will you see the ratings given by previous customers but also what they call love notes. Read them: you may see someone comment on shipping time or you will see what they say about their experience with the seller. If you do not see notes, maybe think twice. If the listing is not detailed enough, ask questions. If the seller does not respond, move on. Seller's have a max of 8 photos to put up. If more is needed for you to buy, reach out.

Inspect an item immediately upon receiving it and then approve it or open a case. To open the case you need to send photos of the item. You can not return because you do not like it but if it is was not listed correctly or is damaged. The max is three days. Now on the seller end, it can be frustrating that someone opens case 3 days later, and you know they did something to the item. I had an experience with a vintage designer bag. The customer washed the bag (not sure if she soaked it or what she used on it) but you could see that it was wet and damaged. She won and I lost. Did I agree, nope. So it is hard to say what is the medium. I think 3 days is too long of a period because it gives shady people the time to take advantage but I hate see to buyers get bamboozled.

Poshmark takes 20% and a flat $2.95 on items under $15. So if you offer someone
$3 bucks on something, they make $. 05. Many may ignore lowballs offers. I do feel it is inappropriate and I counter or decline.

I have no idea why people accept an offer and do not ship. This did happened to me once. I cancelled after 7 days. I did find it odd because a seller can cancel an order before they ship it. I had a seller mishap: I was packing up a shirt, heard a noise and when I turned back: I had split coffee on it. I felt like an idiot and cancelled her order with a message.

With all this said: when it comes to being assisted by Posh Customer Service, you are most likely on your own. Look at it like your running your own business, so you are all on your own. You take the good with the bad. Buyers: look for seller reviews, you can enlarge photos to inspect and when in doubt: do not buy unless your questions are answered. The sellers who treat it like any other customer service experience, will respond and try to make that sale. Also, do not be afraid to make a reasonable offer. But no one should be under the impressions that the company will do a lot for them. I guess, I am using them in the same way they are using me!

First and foremost, Poshmark never promised to be like eBay. Allow me to quote Poshmark directly, as no one can say it better than them;
"Poshmark is the leading fashion destination where women come together to buy and sell clothing and accessories from each other's closets."
That being said, sellers who are on here trying to open boutiques, complaining about "low ballers" and "morons" who try to trade; That's basically the point of the app. It's not to start your boutique and make a bunch of money off of. It's for women and young ladies to sell their items at up to 70% or TRADE (which for a girl like me who is stern about not repeating outfits, this is AWESOME) or PURCHASE ITEMS FOR UP TO 70% OFF. If you're on here trying to sell your $#*! at full or above value (yes, people try to do that), nobody is going to buy it unless it's nowhere else on the internet and they really want it. Poshmark encourages buyers to barter and make offers and bundle items for discounts, the point is for the seller to barter back. Not get pissed at "low ballers." Don't look at it as a shop where prices are firm, look at it as an online flea market where prices are negotiable.

Poshmark has changed the game for people like me, with a caviare taste for fashion on a BK budget. It's also cool because people who get things like Love and Lemons at wholesale pricing will allow you to pre-purchase at lower cost than retail (don't expect wholesale pricing, they need to make money too). Before Posh, I would have never bought Urban Outfitters or LF or American Apparel or anything at those higher price points. The beauty of posh is that people sell Urban and LF and AA at Forever 21 prices, so it's much easier to afford these types of products!

As ever, ask questions before you purchase. Read the seller reviews. Do a little research if you're uncertain. And make sure your product is authentic.

The reviews about Posh not having good buyer/seller protection is absolute BS as well because as long as you follow the guidelines, any problem can be solved. Whether you receive the wrong item, don't receive it at all, don't get accepted. Anything. As long as you use what they provide you, you'll be fine. It's when you try to cut corners that you can screw yourself over.

The one negative I do agree with is how much of a cut they take for your sales. But, if you don't want to take the loss, offer Paypal or Mercari or Venmo options. Just know that you are going against their guidelines when you do that, and you lose the excellent protection they offer for both buyers and sellers.

I check poshmark every single day and purchase every other.

Poshmark website platform allows sellers to deceive buyers and block negative feedback. Their webpage ad design allows misleading ads and poshmark's claim of protection for buyers is FALSE. I bought item from michaelia7, based on both: the PHOTOS and the BOLD print Item DESCRIPTION showing color as BROWN, but instead received different colored used item, "tan," NOT shown in the ad or photos. But since the webpage design allows seller to list more description details below ad. And this seller listed 2 other colors NOT matching the photos or item description in small print. She then sent me an item matching one of those colors, and Poshmark claims this qualifies: "as described," though her ad clearly showed ONLY the BROWN item now "Sold." So this website sends automated emails and the"phone" number listed Only has a message saying they only use email. So on principal I tried 5 times clarifying this yet messages claim "Item is as described." The messages also say to: "reposh" or resell it, (dont want to join) also suggested buyers must ask sellers more questions bf purchases, and buyers must read more about the website -Other-words don't take the ads at face value! This fits the legal definition of Misleading and False advertising. I reported it to FTC so their on a list. I see that for websites registered out-of-state there's no recourse to go to court. I ended up with a very, BUTT UGLY, CHEAP, TACKY, TAN VINYL purse that should have gone into trash. Seller must have been desperate to keep her sales volume high since she's at "Ambassador" level status and that requires large am't of sales. If she were based in my state she'd be going to small Claims court, Poshmark too. Now a lessen learned CHEAP! So I will only buy local or Amazon, eBay and the few other websites that have proven their validity.

Tip for consumers:
This site is seller friendly, (they get a percent of all sales) and NOT buyer friendly, like ebay or Amazon. My situation shows how sellers can skirt the policy and scam people while selling rubbish. Aside of the unscrupulous buyers out there this site most likely has more bad sellers due to policy. Kids clothes are very expensive and kids grow so fast, its best for that purpose only, BUT dont rely on the ads Communicate w/sellers, Scrutinize all, since COVID its dog-eat-dog

Verified purchase

I am so disheartened with this company. Been a longtime customer throughout the years and have purchased items at many price points. I have received items I wasn't completely happy with a handful of times, but never submitted a claim because I thought some will not be 100%. I felt I needed to submit a claim in this instance since the seller sold me a completely unwearable item and did it deceptively. I provided very thorough photos and an explanations about the damage the seller caused to this wool sweater by shrinking it beyond recognition. The seller washed her wool sweater in hot water which caused the knit to basically shrivel it up to a thicker, more rigid felt or a boiled wool material. It was about 5" shorter from original measurements and provides no range of motion. It looks like a joke. The seller was deceptive in her description and used images from the manufacturer for the full garment view and only one closeup photo of the neck label on the actual garment. I paid $75 for an unwearable item and explained this to poshmarks and submitted these photos along with some other ones showing a side by side comparison. They said my case does not qualify for a refund! They gave me a $5 "posh credit" which is a complete insult! I'm out $75 and have been a longtime customer purchasing many many items at all kinds of price ranges. I'm certain collectively my purchasing activity has generated some pretty decent income for poshmarks. I pushed back with a follow up email but they are now ignoring me completely. The fact that they can't do better than 5 dollars is mystifying and short sighted. No wonder why poshmarks is constantly losing customers and has such bad company reviews. The customer service they advertise sadly does not hold any water. Their phone number leads people to a dead end. Why even have it? It only wastes people's time and makes them more disgruntled with poshmarks. Their customer service is there until someone really needs it, then it becomes a generic rubber stamp policy which offers zero protection for the buyer. Based on my history and track record alone should be enough of a reason to issue a refund, but instead poshmarks decided to abandon yet another customer. It's disheartening and disappointing to have poshmarks treat their longtime customers in such a dismissive way at the moment we really need their support.

Tip for consumers:
Make sure the seller is showing clear photos of the actual garment or item (not just a manufacturer's photo), Get the measurements from the seller if not supplied, Look at sellers activity to make sure they are currently active on the website, Look at past sales, Ask questions if you have them (aka: is this from a non-smoke household or does this have any nonenal smells)

This is my second review on Posh... I thought I would give it another shot. My first account was locked due to exposing how to tell if you're dealing with a scammer or not. I didn't list the seller's name I only proved that the pics (she stole) were fake (by using Veracity). I posted the stolen pics in MY CLOSET, just showing others how to use Veracity. There was a group of ladies trying to take this peticular scammer down... her name is Julie, she's probably still using Posh. Posh customer service is nonexistent for what they are charging their sellers! If you do have an issue you will get a generic message that doesn't address the issue you're having! So I stupidly decided to try again and just be more vigilant and just avoid the scammers all together. I only sold/bought from users that had good reviews. I have been using my new account for over 6 mo, selling over $1,000 worth of items. No complaints, perfect reviews every time! Suddenly my account was locked, I emailed Posh and was told "Due to their very accurate system I had ties to an account that was locked, so I would no longer be able to buy/sale" Well Posh's very accurate system allowed me to sale for 6mo, not for sure what triggered the system. I requested a direct deposit on the 3rd of Dec. (account wasn't locked yet) I'm still waiting on my deposit. And Same problem as before their customer service sucks, only way to contact is email and you have to wait days for a response. I also have an order that wasn't finalized, but I was sent the EXACT same email twice. Proving they don't actually address the issue! So now I am out around $100. This time I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, next is my state Attorney General, then the BBB. I urge anyone that has been scammed by this company to do the same! That's the only way this will stop! I know reviews like these are beneficial but these sites like sitejabber aren't well known enough.

I just recently sold my authentic Louis Vuitton Ellipse bag on Poshmark approximately a week ago. The buyer made it explicitly clear that they wanted the bag to go through posh concierge which is a service that will authenticate any designer item sold over $500. The buyer purchased the bag at $500. The bag was purchased on a Sunday which we all know USPS is closed. The following day was a federal holiday and of course USPS is closed. The buyer frantically sent me a message on Poshmark asking if I was shipping the bag out on Monday. Obviously I responded back stating that it was a federal holiday and the post office is closed and that I would be shipping out bright and early Tuesday morning. There was no response from the buyer but I figured that they understood and it was OK. The bag was delivered to Poshmark concierge and they successfully authenticated the bag and proceeded to ship out to the buyer. The bag was barely delivered when out of nowhere the buyer reported the bag as damaged. Posh Mark now opened a case against me and is in the process of reviewing the case. I do not understand why posh Mark is taking days upon days to decide this case. It is not like the bag didn't go through the concierge first. They clearly saw that the bag is not damaged and I am really really upset that both my bag and my money is being withheld from me. I am not new on posh Mark unlike the buyer who might I add only created his account a month ago. I have been buying and selling on posh Mark since January 2013 and for the last three years I have had nothing but stellar ratings from anyone that I have done business with. I have a 4.8 star rating. This is the sheer reason that I refuse to sell any of my high-end merchandise on Poshmark. There is zero customer service and they would rather entertain a brand new potential scammer then a veteran of their community. I am so beyond upset that I can't get an answer from anyone and I will stop at nothing to take posh Mark down by going to every social media outlet and the news and the authorities to make this happen. Clearly posh Mark does not read these horrendous ratings or they don't care but as a reputable business they need to excel at customer service and clearly that is something they are lacking. If in fact they ruled this case in the buyers favor and I get either a replica bag back or that it's severely damaged intentionally I promise that I will shut posh Mark down because that is something that cannot be tolerated.

I sent in a large bag of casual name brand clothes, after 3 months I spent 4 hours getting a hold of someone there to find out where my clothes were. I was told my bag got lost and there was no compensation for them losing my clothes. Within the 3 months, I sent in another large bag of clothes, very different than the first bag, this bag had shoes, belts, purses, and business dress clothes, all name brands.
I received an email stating one of my blouses sold. This blouse was from the first bag of clothes I mailed in which supposedly was lost in their sorting facility. I called again and was told that the entire bag of clothes I had sent in was sold and that the entire amount for all my sold clothes went to shipping and processing costs with the exception of one blouse. I paid $49.00 for my designer blouse and Poshmark gave me $1.98 for it! I wore the blouse once for 3 hours. Otherwise, It was brand new!
I was told due to shipping and Poshmark taking their cut from my clothes $1.98 was all I was going to receive from my large bag of designer clothes, which I paid well over $1,000.00 dollars for. I asked them why they told me they lost my bag of clothes and I was lied to and told that NO ONE ever told me it was lost. I had an email from customer service stating it was lost, which Poshmark denied. I HAVE PROOF!.
Then the second large bag with my designer handbags, shoes, belts, and high-end business attire also went missing. I never did receive even a penny for that bag. I spent over $1399, retail on that bag and was told it got lost in their sorting facility. Poshmark is a RIP-OFF. They steal the designer high-brand clothing, accessories, shoes, purses, Etc from people selling their high-end products claiming it was lost in their sorting facility.\
I was lied to and CRAPPED on. So I ordered a small bag from Poshmark, cleaned up my back yard, I have 3 large dogs, and sent them my dog's doo. I figured if they are going to steal from their clients and treat them like crap the least I can do is return the favor.
Poshmark, I hope you enjoyed a bag filled with my dog's doo. That is the type of treatment you provide your customers.
Do unto others as you would have others do unto you.
KARMA with get you for all of your lying and stealing! I would NOT want to be you.

Tip for consumers:
Shop other online thrift stores. These clothes are expensive and the amount they pay the seller is pathetic, they make all the money, the seller makes pennies that is if they don't lose your bag at their processing facility. They also steal people designers brands of clothing and lie to the customer. RUN do not shop here.

Products used:
NONE, I got ripped off and lied to.

Two PM members myself and someone else purchased items from seller kbfluvs2shop on the same day. After a week we noticed our items had not shipped. I had reached out first to inquire about my item and the other buyer noticed my note and reached out to me and that is when we found out the extent of the lies coming from kbfluvs2shop. The list of excuses why she had not shipped our items: Oh wow I did not notice this sale, I will ship tomorrow (4 days later still not shipped), I am moving, I am out of town, I cannot find the item. Then I get a message that she spoke to PM and they advised her to ship me an alternate item without advising me of the switch and without my consent or permission. First this is illegal and known as bait & switch. Second the seller never spoke to PM about this issue. Third, as a Director of CS and Sales in the luxury fashion industry for over 50 yrs NO COMPANY WOULD EVER SWITCH YOUR ITEM WITHOUT ADVISING YOU AND GETTING YOUR PERMISSION TO DO SO. Not only is their proof of all the dialog between this seller, myself and the other buyer all over this sellers listing but PM insults further by advising me to simply block the member. Oh so this seller can pull this stunt on yet other unsuspecting buyers. She already pulled her nonsense on 2 buyers whats to stop her from doing it again?! PM is useless and cannot even adhere to THEIR OWN POLICY GUIDELINES. Then they allow sellers to lie so gregariously it is nauseating and they allow them to continue their bad behavior. WOW! Well if anything this review will help others NOT TO PURCHASE from kbfluvs2shop as your funds will be held hostage for 8 days and you will NEVER receive your items and will just get lie after lie. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS SELLER - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Several days ago Poshmark suspended my account as a result of suspicious activity reported by my bank.

Mind you that Poshmark never reached out to me to inform me that they were suspending my account, I just went to accept an offer for an item and I wasn't able to, nor was i able to extend offers or buy anything.

Soooo, I had to send an email because Poshmark does not have a customer service number, at all. I have visited lemonaid stands that run with more efficiency and professionalism than this site!

I sent the email at 10pm Wednesday by 2pm the next day I still had not received a response, so over the next 6 hours I sent five more emails expressing my concerns at the lack of responsiveness from the Poshmark team, as well as confirming that none of the transactions on my account were eroneous or fraudulent.

Finally at 11pm on Thursday I get an email from poshmark indicating my account was suspended pending confirmation from ME that none of the transactions on my account were fraudulent. Clearly they HAVE NOT READ my emails preceding their response to me, or they would have known I already addressed that issue.

Soooo... Now it's Friday and my account is STILL suspended! Aparrently waiting for the confirmation from me that THEY ALREADY RECEIVED. In the meantime I have lost quite a few offers and items, etc... to other buyers. I AM SO DONE!

Dear Poshmark... you are NOT ready for prime time!

POSHMARK IS A SCAM dont let anyone tell you otherwise! I ordered THREE separate items from THREE separate sellers in the last three weeks and ALL THEREE SELLERS NEVER shipped the items or responded to any comments about them.
YOU NEED TO ASK YOURSELF what exactly does Poshmark do to address issues with bad sellers? Nothing! Thats right. A seller can just choose to not send you an item you paid for (and Poshmark processed and took their cut from) and Poshmark does absolutely NOTHING!
At least eBay will suspend a sellers account or even close it outright. Same with Amazon. Same for almost ALL shopping sites. Not Poshmark. Heres what they say...
In order to prevent this issue in the future, we highly recommend reaching out to the seller through the comments section of a listing you are interested in. This will allow you to know how active a seller may be and when they can potentially ship the order out. We also suggest checking to see when the last time your seller was active on Poshmark before purchasing an item. You may do this by selecting the About button located on the users closet. This will direct you to their profile where you will be able to see when the user was last on Poshmarkthis is located next to where it says, Posher since (date). If the area is blank, this means that the user has not been active for more than 2 weeks.
Thats right! They deflect ALL responsibility in these matters and expect YOU, the buyer, to investigate and determine if you will have any chance of receiving an item you pay for. WHAT A JOKE!
I happily cancel my account and will tell as many people as I can about this rip-off of a company. Save your money, folks. Buy clothing from a site where you will actually receive the item you pay for instead of sitting around HOPING youll get it.
