Be aware of false advertisement Poshmark allows. I bought pajama showing both top and pants on the picture and I only received the top. Poshmark is not helping me with this issue. They won't allow me to return it and get money back. I totally overpaid for a used piece of pajama top.

You are unable to return damaged clothes even with photo evidence. They make a "case" then decline it anyway. Horrible horrible customer service

I've been a buyer on poshmark for years and I just recently started selling. Havent had issues with either. I would consider myself a more high end young closet, with brands like Nastygal, free people, for love and lemons, Missguided, topshop, and so on. If you are trying to sell things like lularoe or Michael kors or that one tee shirt you bought 3 years ago for $10, you're really not going to sell much or make much. 20% is a pretty hefty fee, but I'm not like most poshers selling items under $20. I can make 20% less and be okay because my margins are good. If you're going to shop in posh, you really do need to learn the rules and guidelines. All the people complaining that it didn't fit and you couldn't return... Y'all need to read. DIRECTLY above the like, comment, and share bar there literally is a link to the buyer protection and return policy. Also, for those getting upset over someone not shipping an item when they haven't been on poshmark for 3 years... What's your logic? You can see the last time someone logged on. Or if you don't want to do that you could literally comment "hey is this still available" and if they respond THEN purchase. Half the reviews I see on here are just people that didn't do their due diligence and just expected things. I've begun selling at least 1-3 items a week for the past say 3 months and I'm just about at 1k in sales. You CAN do it. It takes time and effort and strategic actions, but it will produce results. HORRIBLE! I BOUGHT A PAIR OF BIRKENSTOCKS AND GOT A PAIR THAT ARE OBVIOUSLY FAKE. I SENT them photographs, one which shows the logo on the bottom, another photo showing there is an obvious size discrepancy and I have RA and cannot hold my phone and a shoe at the same time! I was out of town from Friday afternoon through Sunday. They sent an email on Thursday that I didn't see until Friday night and I didn't take the fake shoes with me so they closed the case, BUYER ACCEPTS SHOES! NO REFUND. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NUMBER, NOTHING.

Overall poshmark is the best resale option out there. It gets a little annoying with lowballers, but its overall better than the other apps. I haven't bought anything, and so far I haven't had any claims either, and that is with about 80 sales. Even if 1 or 2% of sales would become a problem, I wouldn't mind. I take a video with my gopro of myself boxing it up and use some sort of identifier to show it was the same package that hasn't been tampered with (ex write with a marker all over packaging tape). When I get to the post office I turn the gopro back on, show it is the exact same package, and keep it on as I drop it off. That way, if there are ever any claims, I have video proof of EXACTLY what I sent. The fees are high, but if anythign is lost in the mail, they will refund the buyer and pay the seller. They deal with all the mail claims. Customer serivice takes a while to get back (I've had a couple questions before) but at least they aren't rude like mercari. Be careful when buying expensive things, but overall its good. Also fund are released 3 days after the package was delivered automatically and you can transfer to your bank account at any time (mercari only transfers on mondays and if you balance is above a certain amount)

I've had very mixed feelings with purchases from Poshmark. A few successes and lots of fails.

Items are often misrepresented in terms of condition or issues/damage. Some sellers so grossly overestimate the value of items or overprice items that can be found cheaper online on sale (which goes against Poshmark's alleged price gouging policy).

Items can be shipped late (or not at all), and it can be hard to know when things will arrive. I have had a few items arrive when out of town (on trips booked in advance), and then when items were not as described, been out of luck since you get 72 hrs to dispute an item.

Poshmark takes a hefty cut (20%), so you have to take that into consideration when selling through them. Buyers can send you ridiculous low ball offers with no way to filter them out like you can on ebay. I do find that some buyers have unreasonable standards when purchasing - and they sometimes don't read the actual information in the listing - which also wastes time. I usually price competitively on Poshmark just to liquidate, but even still, buyers often expect used items to be brand new but not willing to pay more than a quarter or fifth of the price or gripe if there's the tiniest speck of dust or something from storage (I am a detail-oriented person, but some buyers can get OVERLY pedantic). It's honestly a waste of my time to sell on this platform once I deal with the repetitive questions, high seller fees, and crazy karens.

Customer service is often not helpful or willing to look at issues on a case by case basis and reverts to their limiting policies when items are not as described or are misrepresented. Overall, it's a real gamble both as a buyer and seller, and it can be really time consuming to be either.

I think I've finally wasted enough time and money with them.

Wow! Never worked so hard as a seller in my life. So many thrift stores around now that people expect something for nothing but they just don't realize how awful the selections are at some of these thrift stores... children's snot and everyone's germs all over everything... alot of items high priced just because they have designer names (made in china) but are knockoffs. The loud noises of bigmouths and their children while you shop... good heaven's America wake up and shop more online... save time, gas and pay the darn $4.99 s&h fee... not a bad fee at all compared to most ripoff companies that charge like $10 or more for that! Your items are tracked for the $4.99 and you get them fast if the seller ships out fast. If you buy a whole bunch of items you make out like a bandit because you STILL pay only $4.99... hello! Speaking of which... if you have great taste, need gifts for the holidays and love those thrift store prices on items that won't be damaged, are truly like new, etc. www.poshmark/closet/dooleymom.com. You'll love what you see and I ship fast! Read my ABOUT page or anyone elses for that matter! If this site is used correctly, it can be a great experience for seller and buyer!

I read multiple reviews from buyers here saying that the sellers are scammers on Poshmark- this is offensive. I have not purchased anything but posted 15 items in hopes of selling them and the only responses I get are "potential buyers" wanting to take the transaction offline via email or asking to see photos and asking about the condition of the item when I have provided 5-8 clear photos and explained clearly the condition and photographed any defects in the site. I do not like the idea of using my personal email to communicate to "customers"- I say this in quotes because they either don't seem serious about buying the item at all, for they did not even bother to read the description detail carefully, or are using language in such a way to make me believe they are not in the U.S. and are overseas trying to obtain my personal information to commit some sort of identify fraud. IF somebody isn't willing to link their credit card to the site to pay Poshmark, how can I feel confident that their "check" won't bounce/will arrive/not be fake, etc.? This is how bank account information gets stolen- by depositing scammer checks. Clearly neither side trusts the other on the site and that is why I feel it's going to fail. I'm removing my items and gonna try to sell on EBay or TheRealReal. I did not like TheRealReal because I felt their fees were too high but all of my designer brand items did sell- and Poshmark is clearly not an option at all. Plus I don't get why I have hundreds of followers added everyday but still not a sale has been made when I have brand new or worn only 1-2 times items priced from $25-250 (original price paid was $250-$1000). You'd think with that big a range, something would have sold. I'm annoyed that I wasted my time. Don't waste yours!

I have been ripped off by Poshmark. I purchased a antique 14k gold necklace at the beginning of January. Anything you buy that's 500 dollars and up automatically gets sent to Posh in California for authentication. Well, buyer beware, I've contacted them everyday, got the same computer generated answer every day. Posh said item is late due to covid, that was 3 weeks ago. They promised item would be looked at and spent out by Jan 28th and that was a lie. It's now the 3rd of February and still nothing. I e demanded a refund for weeks and nothing. I have a suspecion the gold necklace was stolen by a posh employee at authentication. That's the only answer I can come up with. I just filed complaint with BBB and check with them also before buying a high priced item. They have had 2,000 complaints against posh. My next move is my attorney to file a lawsuit and that's going to cost them. Attorney fees are expensive. If your rich and like donating money to California, then by all means make your purchase. I will never buy nothing off this app. They don't have a phone number either, they know you can't contact them and they ignore your email through the complaint center in the app. It's probably a matter that needs turned in to the State's Attorney office in California. Apps like this should be illegal without a telephone contact. Let's change that.

Tip for consumers:
Do NOT purchase anything over 500.00 dollars. Also be aware, a ton of counterfeit items are sold on this site.

Products used:
Antique 14k gold necklace and pendant.

Some disgusting seller had a pair of the Huntress rain boots listed as hunter rain boots even had a picture of the original wellies in the ad. I realized after reading some of the comments on the item that something was off with the description and literally emailed the seller several hours after paying saying that if they were indeed Huntress that they wouldnt fit me and if I could please have a refund. Not only did she not respond, but she waited about 7 days or whatever the official day is to cancel your order. To mark them as shipped. Only did she respond after I opened a case with customer service saying she never claimed they were originals. Well, if you dont have a pair of Huntress boots that are called specifically by that name, written anywhere then how am I supposed to think they are anything other than the originals? Customer service sided with the seller and told me that I should have asked to specificy what exact make of the boot it was. Absolutely ridiculous. That situation would NEVER have happened on Ebay. Also sellers on Ebay ship your items much faster than posh. I since cancelled and have told everyone I know to stay far far away as they have a customer service that is loyal to sellers only and will allow you to be scammed

Talk about rolling the dice! You've got a better shot of going to Vegas with $10 and leaving a millionaire than you do having a good experience on Poshmark. IF YOU BUY SOMETHING ON THIS SITE THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE YOUR SELLER COMPLETELY IGNORES YOU! Have had it happen too many times. Having deleted my account once for this reason a couple of years ago I decided (against my better judgment) to give Poshmark another shot. I thought: " Hey, maybe they've improved". How stupid of me. Ordered a pair of shoes. Seller turned out to be the absentee kind. You know, the kind that have a closet on Poshmark that they've apparently forgotten about. Seller did not respond to messages, did not ship, and for all I know, fell off the face of the planet (with my shoes). Customer service (I use the term VERY loosely) just regurgitated the company's awful policies (which I already knew). Basically I just tied up my hard earned money for 8 days lending it to a nonexistent seller on Poshmark but with no interest. Good business plan. Deleted my account again and FOREVER. I hope Poshmark as a company crashes and burns!
