“I love Poshmark authentication service”

Yasmina I.
3/15/23

I love Poshmark authentication because I shop with confidence for items $500 and up. Not like other websites that way Poshmark guarantees me authenticity of the item I bought without extra cost. Their experts are knowledgeable and they address my issues professionally.

Top Critical Review

“No customer service.”

Maynard R.
7/14/24

I ordered a product on Poshmark and created an account. When I received an email from the seller with a link to a message for me, I was unable to log into my account. I emailed Poshmark, but they don't answer. After 2 weeks I still have not received my package and have no idea where it is or how to find out.

If you need to reach out to customer service for a basic matter, it's addressed by standard auto reply not specific to your inquiry. Also if you cancel an order that clearly hasn't even been processed for shipping yet, they will ignore you and then send the item anyway, so be very careful.

Customer bought a designer belt, in excellent condition. I had several photo's of the front and the back, NO damage! Close up photo's; I wanted to be transparent. Suddenly after 34 hours from delivery, there was suddenly damage-maybe from the shipping. What? I've sold A LOT and only have 5 star reviews. They didn't ask for additional pictures or even respond when I submitted comments. Just that they were allowing her to send it back. So now I have a damaged item... I won't be using them anymore. I emptied out my closet and I'm waiting to get paid from the last 3 items that were sent out this week to close the account completely. Unfortunate that they didn't do research. They just took this fraudulent customer's word for it.

Tip for consumers:
There is no actual customer service. Response is SLOW and they did no real research into the issue. Customer damaged my item and they didn't look at the photo's I took of the item BEFORE it was shipped and in that customer's possession. I enlarged the photo's and requested to send them in so they could see the condition before it left my possession. Never got a response until 4 days later saying she could return a damaged item to me. I guess they just want to waste money on shipping...

The first time I tried to buy something on this site, the item arrived with a stain. When I reported it, the seller attacked me verbally, stating that I must have smeared something on the cloth so I could steal her money. I understand that these sellers don't get paid upfront so they may be a little more paranoid than other vendors, but with 1450 successful transactions on Ebay, I have never been accused like that. It's not about the money, it's knowing that a seller will reach out and try to come to an accommodation. Needless to say I won't be exposing myself to that sort of abuse again.

I am not convinced you get a good deal here. I was looking at tops and many of the items offered could be purchased for less on Amazon with a satisfaction guarantee. Also on two occasions I bought shoes that fell apart after a few months so I really wonder f they were actually the brand they were supposed to be.

Tip for consumers:
I would look for the product new and find out if you are actually saving money by buying from Poshmark. Quite often you aren’t and even if you are saving a few dollars you won’t be able to return your purchase. I would say I liked less than 30% of the things I purchased at Poshmark

Bought these shoes as womens size 8. While they are nice shoes, they are clearly men's shoes due to the length and width. Customer service refused a return because the tag says 8. I made two other purchases that were fine, but I deleted their app, because 2 out of 3 is too much of a gamble for me.

Tip for consumers:
It's a gamble for buyers. You might get what you thought you were, or you might end up with nothing. I wish I checked them out before shopping there.

Poshmark is a great sight for purchasing clothing unless you have a problem with an item you bought. Then they disappear and you quickly realize you are in a Buyer Beware situation. It is easy for used clothing to have been washed and shrunk, especially wool products. Then they get sold as their marked size but are no longer that size. This has happened to me twice, and Poshmark sided with the seller and I was stuck with products I could not wear.

Ordered pair of nursing shoes and waited 9 days but seller never mailed out and Poshmark did charge me. They don't refund until after 7 days. I will check credit card to make sure they refunded. Also didn't realize until later, you can't return wrong size. Amazon prime so much better and no hassles. Will unsubscribe Poshmark especially seeing all these bad reviews.

Initially I had a good experience with Poshmark, their platform is pretty user friendly if you're a seller. I've had some concerns because of a few things, the amount of people selling "inspired" or being out right scammers is disturbing and makes things difficult if you're selling actual legitimate items. Even when you report this through the poshmark app it seems as if they don't do anything which is incredibly frustrating.

The second issue I have is when you're dealing with a buyer issue, they are pretty much non-responsive to any input the seller has. I can understand wanting to protect buyers but considering that Poshmark takes a 20% cut from their sellers, as sellers we're also consumers too. I've had too many issues as of late and have quit using poshmark to sell my gently used items. I'd rather donate them and get the take write off then having to deal with these people who don't care. And good luck getting an actual person to contact you as there's no info on their website.

Stick with Ebay, Poshmark has screwed me multiple times in that I have purchased several things and only ever received about half. Most sellers give very little info on their listings, and wont answer questions when you ask.

Poshmark has the worst technical problems. All the time listings disappear, contact customer service no reply until 24 hrs later if lucky, then they claim something triggered their automated system, and they do restore the listings immediately. There seems to be a LOT of females on this sight who troll and try to cause trouble. Its truly not worth the time to list here unless you are just selling used clothing and can just give it away

I have purchase Ray Ban sunglasses. They arrived and are FAKE! I paid $70. For a $5 item. Poshmark is giving me the run around stating my pictures are not clear enough. The MADE IN CHINA PHOTO is extremely clear!, this should not have been an issue at all. There is no where that I can find to call. I have left comments with my complaints, and obviously they don't read the. I told them I was out of town and would take care of it on Monday. Then I received a notice on Sunday saying my time was running out. HORRID customer service.

So far I've found some really great deals on Pm but I have been a professional shopper, an eBay seller and basically I know how to make sure I find the best deals... sadly certain things on Pm are already on my nerves such as;
1. No time limits on seller postings; I have an purchase pending and I have to wait 7 days to see if the person is actually active as they seem to have been inactive for a while, this prevents me from going for other new deals because I can't cancel due to responsiveness for a whole week.

2. $6.49 to ship a $3 or a $499 item? Enough said...

3. Settings unresponsive; I indicated that I do not want NOTIFICATIONS on certain options and yet I still get them it's quite annoying.

Overall I have enjoyed being a new user for the past few weeks but I'm relieved to find that there are other sites that offer more options like free shipping etc. hope they make improvements.

There's almost no customer service and very little recourse for buyers who get ripped off. Most of the clothing is overpriced by sellers who don't seem to understand the concept of depreciation. I have not bought anything expensive here and I advise others to proceed with caution. If you're looking for used designer handbags there are resale sites out there that back up the things they sell.

I placed two high-end, brand-new items for sale on Postmark. The process was quick and easy. However, I was inundated by texts from people looking at my items and following me. Don't these people have anything else to do? It was distracting and intrusive. I feel I should only get texts when people have questions or want to make an offer. I suggest that instead users receive a weekly EMAIL report with a list of likes/followers. After three months all I got were browsers, no sales. I closed my account and I took my things to a local consignment shop. They sold in a week.

I've had a couple of great transactions and a couple to be desired. Essentially, there is no quality control. You can buy something that isn't actually still available because people don't delete their sold items. The biggest complaint is getting an item that isn't remotely as advertised, I. E. in poor condition. It's just annoying from a site referring to itself as "posh mark". And why the hell are people allowed to sell crap from old navy?

This is an online garage sale where everyone is looking for a bargain and many of the users are resellers. It also attracts con artists. You take time and effort to post your goods at reasonable prices and then people make offers off half of what you are selling it for and most likely will turn around and resell it. You get a lot of requests for more info and additional pictures from people who have no intention of buying the product anyway. Poshmark takes 20% of every sale and in return provides you a free shipping label. That's great for things under $40 but you are selling high end merchandise or jewelry you are better of on EBay. PM doesn't even filter out the con artists even though they give you a place to report them.

Received badly stained jeans that were not "white" as advertised, let alone CLEAN... the inside crotch is yellowed as if underwear were an afterthought. So disgusted YUCK! Poshmark's automatic response to my instant complaint? We'll get back to you in 3-5 days, if approved you have 5 days to ship back damaged item, seller has 3 days to accept return. So basically, I'll be lucky to get a refund in a month, if ever.

I have just deleted my account after one year buying things. I purchased approximately 12 things, over half of the transactions were major problems. Two different purchases were mailed to wrong persons and I had to mail them their stuff. Three separate items went in the trash. Sellers don't respond to questions for days, delay shipping for days, sell dirty wore out wrong-sized items and sell things that are of less value with high priced flat shipping of $4.99! Bundled items are a joke where the sellers tell you it will take 2 shipments. Sellers call you rude in comments back and forward where others can read it when ask for measurements. I'm done with them and I've went back to eBay for good.

The S&H costs almost $7 even if you're buying something as low as $4. Really turns me off from buying much. I'd rather have cheaper shipping and pay less overall than have to pay for mandatory 2-day priority mail.

I placed 4 orders on Poshmark on 6/17. (New customer) 2 of them were charged to my debit card but have not shipped AND 1 of those 2 orders was double charged - seller cancelled order stating item no longer available after 1st payment received then exact same charge was again taken from my account the next day. The other order I was supposed to get a $10 credit for joining but that seller has also never shipped items. No refunds are pending for those 2 orders. I won't use or recommend Poshmark again. (My other 2 orders are ALREADY received and I was very happy with them, hence 2 stars instead of 1.)

I use several platforms to buy, Depop and Mercari, and especially Ebay. But what I love about those platforms is that you can see the sellers ratings. WE, as buyers should have that fairness and Poshmark for some reason doesn't do it... why? Because the sellers are more important? I'm a good buyer and leave 5 star reviews and want to avoid BAD sellers. I buy a lot on these platforms, especially Poshmark. But really have come to conclusion of leaving it and closing my account. I don't understand how this platform can allow sellers to continue on Poshmark when they haven't even been active for over a year or more... A complete waste of a buyers time!

I'll start by saying, I buy real Chanel all the time. I will go on Poshmark to look for vintage or things for my daughters. This week I ordered 6 things all suppose to be Chanel so far received 5 items and 3 maybe 4 are fakes. Including items supposed to be reviewed at PMHQ. You could look at the tag for two seconds and see it's a fake. The front of the tags look pretty good, enough for me to buy them. The back of the tags is the give away they are fake. Who is authenticating these items? My advice ask to see pictures of both sides of the tags, close up photo of the buttons. Check stitching! Because I just paid 850.00 for a cashmere sweater that probably worth less then $100.00. It's my fault for not doing a better job reviewing the items. I trusted the PMHQ would be legitimate. Buyer please be ware! I'm going to make a YouTube Video of all the real Chanel in my closet and share to help future buyers... determine real or fake

Taking 20% as commission is JUST TOO HIGH and on top of that, increase in shipping $5.95 while shipping does not stay true to its 2-day priority promise. Usually arrives later than 2 days so why pay the high price? Not good to sell. I still would recommend it as a buyer but just not to sell.

1) Make sure the color description matches the photo.
2) Look for the last active date for the Seller. Many items sit there for 1-3 years w/ no one active. Big waste of time for you to have to then cancel after 10 days.
3) Looking for the fabric content on a label in a photo or ask for it.
4) Many items arrive smaller in size... maybe due to shrinkage. Keep that in mind.
5) It's a risk, but their Support will back you if you have a legitimate problem.

Tip for consumers:
The last active date is below the listing by the sellers name. If they were last active in 2019, don't waste your time. For an item say 3 mos w/o any comments or activity, I leave a comment & ask if this item is still available?
If I never get a response....then move on. Otherwise you wait for the response, buy it & wait. And wait. After 10 days it can be cancelled. But why tie up your funds unnecessarily? I have written Poshmark about this very topic, but those inactive posts are still listed

Products used:
I've bought hundreds of items over the last few years. For the most part, I have been happy. You just have to read every detail on the site to make sure you are buying what you think you are based on the photo.

Several times Sellers never bothered to ship items when I made the purchase. What a joke. Oh, I didn't get the message. Nonsense. I've never sent an insulting offer and purchase outright. There is no ability to communicate privately. More importantly, PM shipping fees too high. There is no 1st class for small or lightweight items and PM hiked $6.49 as their shipping costs. Any shipping discounts solely lands on the poor Seller who is already selling at low prices to compete. PM raking in the dough on shipping fees and selling fees. PM is also always pressuring Sellers to lower their already low prices. Going back to solid eBay with a 24/7 customer support center. PM treats their sellers like children.
