I ordered 2 pair of shoes online from Rack Room with "free shipping". The pair of boots didn't fit well and we're very uncomfortable, so I decided to return them. I went on online chat to see about their return. There is no store close to me and I requested a free shipping label. The chat person simply said I had to pay for the return shipping, which will likely be half the cost of what I spent on the boots. I tried to have a conversation back with her, but after waiting 10 minutes for her to respond, she cut me off due to "inactivity", even though I had responded 3 times within that 10 minutes. I now know never to shop with them again!
I read a lot of the reviews after I purchased my daughter's shoes and thought oh no I hope this goes well. I didn't have to deal with customer service, I didn't have to wait long for them to arrive either. I ordered on 8/20 and paid the extra fee to have them delivered sooner and received them on 8/23. Everything was great from the size to the quality of shoe. I will be ordering again soon! Don't let these reviews keep you from ordering with Rack Room.
They have very poor customer service. I ordered 5 pairs of shoes for my kids and for my 8 toddler shoes they sent me a size 8 womens. I have been trying to get them to fix it for over 2 weeks and my son still doesn't have his shoes. They did at least send me a label to return the one they messed up for free, but it's ridiculous trying to get his shoes! It's one excuse after another. They supposedly are shipping today. We will see. I was told that last week also.
Rude customer service.
Almost every sale is a scam. They tell you some mumbo- jumbo about every shoe and how they aren't actually on sale...despite the tags. It's ridiculous.
Meanwhile, we watch someone walk out of the store holding several stolen shoes in his arms with the alarm trigger and the sales people just smile and say "there goes another one."
Do not shop here if you value your time at all! They have awful customer service and the worst return policies! They first sent me the wrong size shoes on two pairs, and then they resent and the shoes were dirty! So frustrating and I would NEVER shop their again.
I purchased 2 pairs of Nike running shoes for my son in store. I knew I'd need to return one pair as I wasn't sure of his size anymore. I asked the woman when checking out if I could return them. She said sure just keep the receipts. I did but when I took them back she accused me of letting him wear them and then returning them. All because the velcro on one shoe had bumped the other shoe while in the box leaving a tiny smudge that literally wiped off with just a finger swipe. She was very rude and unprofessional and now I'm stuck with a pair of size 3 Nike shoes I can't use.
I came in and returned an item I had bought. I was very unhappy with the service I received from both store employees and customer service. Almost 60 dollars and it's been a week, still have not received my refund. I was hung up on at the end of the call with customer service before finishing. I'm am very upset and will never shop with this company again. Very unprofessional.
Had to get work shoes. Went a couple of days in a row because I couldn't make up my mind. So I asked a girl who is always putting up shoes whenever I went if she could recommend something, she's tall, with glasses. I didn't remember her name. She was quite helpful and friendly. I had asked the manager the day before but she seemed busy so I just came back the next day and the young girl helped me. And they have pokemon stops in the shopping center too. So if you go get shoes maybe don't ask the young manager ask the tall girl with glasses. She will be happy to help you.
I bought two pairs of shoes & a small sling backpack from there. The backpack was fine no complaints. I didn't like how everything shipped separately but the shipping was pretty fast so no complaints there. The first pair of shoes (mine) came with that plastic tag (it goes off if you walk of the store without taking it off) so that was an inconvenience and I had to go to a random sneaker store to ask them to take it off (which she was not supposed to do but was nice enough to do it anyway). My biggest complaint is that the second pair of shoes (my boyfriends Valentine's Day present) came in a tote up box, come on now that's ridiculous this is a GIFT & now I have to present this tacky piece of sh*t box and explain to him that I ordered from a company who could give a f*ck about the satisfaction of their customers. This rate only got 2 stars because I was surprised of the shipping especially after reading how so many people had messed up shipping or never got their shipments, etc. that was the ONLY plus or else this rating would have been 1 star.
I'm always happy with my rack room purchases. Great value. The stores can be a bit messy but no worse than TJX. I recommend you give them a try.
Answer: I would advise potential customers to consider whether they have a retail location nearby. While Rack Room Shoes has great pricing, their online return policy leaves something to be desired in the modern marketplace. In a day and age when return shipping at no charge is offered by many clothing and shoe companies on the internet, you will have to pay return shipping out of your own pocket plus be liable for any shipping charges taken out of your refund with Rack Room Shoes should the shoes not fit/work out for you. In the end, you might spend between $12 and $25 for the round trip shipping... and have nothing to show for it. After making 3 phone calls, and a week waiting for a return phone call that never happened, I spoke with Lisa, supervisor of customer service (800)248-0692, about this policy. She was polite and offered to refund only the original shipping charge. Internet pricing and no charge return policies being what they are at major online retailers like Amazon and Zappos, I suggested that their shipping policy being on the customer should be pointed out on each product page of their website. I am sure this will not happen, since it would certainly lower their sales to customers who don't live close enough to a retail store for returns. BE AWARE. I am still out $11.92... don't let this happen to you!
