They perform as advertised. Like an Uber for moving. The whole process was painless and the person who helped me move was helpful. Will definitely use them again as it took me 90 mins to do something that would have taken me at least half a day on my own.
The worst service experience I have had in my life Firstly, the driver assigned to my move was extremely rude from the moment he arrived. Very unhygienic and smoking cigarettes constantly. He had an extremely unprofessional attitude. He was confrontational and argumentative, particularly regarding the number of floors involved in the collection. He mentioned that I have to mention the number of stairs and not the level of my flat, Although on the website it mentions level. He also mentioned that I didnt input that there was no lift. Which was also false as I did mention. He insisted that the complications were "99% my fault," very condescending and implied that I tried to trick the system so that i dont get charged more. When checking the booking he found that what i said was true, and still insisted it was my fault Additionally, one of my items was not delivered at all, it is still in my collection address. Not only was it not delivered. It was broken during the collection process. To make matters worse, some of the items that were delivered sustained noticeable scratches and damage in addition to damage to the walls of the apartment. On top of all this, Shift have absolutely zero customer support, they hide their terms and conditions, and all they say is they are not liable for any damages, and they ask you to contact the driver, who in the first place is argumentative and unreasonable. Shift have no contact number on their website, and when you send emails, they reply with automated replies and provide no help or support whatsoever. Ive yet to hear any response from them. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, STAY FAR AWAY. You're better off paying a bit extra for a better service. They are scammers, you're not only throwing your money away, but also your furniture and appliances
First time using Shift, and honestly just gutted we haven't used it sooner! Excellent service - easy to use and book/pay, good updates on the day of delivery, driver was lovely and the customer service team followed up afterwards to make sure all was ok.
I recently completed work for Shift with both payment and scope agreed in advance, however once completed they refused to make payment. This is a company that unfortunately can not be trusted to honour their agreements and there is a county court judgement in place against them. Be wary!

They accept your booking and your money without checking if a driver if available in your area on the day you need the service. I received confirmation emails and a phone call saying that it was organised. On the day I got a text saying my driver was in Manchester and was on his way 2 hours before the beginning of the designated pick up time (I live in Dundee), he would never have made it in time. I then received a phone call an hour later saying my booking was cancelled by shift because there was no drivers available. Surely that is something that should be organised before a booking is made?
If your time is important to you, I do not recommend booking a van with shift.

UNRELIABLE, AVOID AT ANY COST
The whole website is designed to lure you in to making a booking without any kind of guarantee about the actual service promised. And once you have pressed "book" then there will be no confirmation email until you start sending complaints through the not-at-all instant messaging service where getting hold of an actual person is impossible no matter which route through the chatbot you take. Absolutely appalling. Will be making full complaint to office of fair trading. This company should not be in business. If anyone from shift ever bothers to read these reviews perhaps they'd like to look up booking reference uYlCIw0Q6k5G to see the whole sorry saga.

My driver didn't arrive and didn't even answer his phone when I was trying to reach him. I spent 1.5h on the live chat 'talking' to one of the customer advisors who seemed to not care at all. I was waiting between 10 and 20 minutes for every single reply from them. I have been offered rescheduling my booking - when I asked if they can assure me that this time the driver will arrive, I have been informed that they "cannot assure that"... In result, I requested a refund however it turned out that the booking fee is non-refundable so eventually (even though it was clearly their mistake) I lost money anyway. Not recommended!

Unfortunately we could not guarantee a provider for the time you requested as we needed to contact providers to confirm this. Until this could happen we did not want to offer false promises, when you chose to cancel we then refunded your PayPal payment instantly as we do not take any payment if the service is not offered.

I had a really horrible experience with this company, very similar to all the below reviews.
They charged me and couldn't assign a driver but didn't let me know, I tried for hours the evening before I was supposed to move house to get any answers from them. They then accused me of cancelling the booking (I had not, the booking was still live without a driver assigned). They have now left me with way to move house, I am on my own with two kids and the stress has brought me to tears. On top of this they said they will charge me the full booking fee for cancelling even though I never cancelled and was desperate to get a van. It's really upsetting and makes me sick that people can treat others like this. I am disputing the charge with my credit card provider and hopefully will get the money back through this method as Shift just ignore you. It seems like the couldn't get a driver so have acted like I cancelled the booking so they still receive all the money.

Terrible. Driver didnt pick up, after being cut off the hold music many times, he text me saying he wasnt even working. They cancelled my order after it being booked for 2 days and left my business without it's stock
Subscription to shift shopping failed but my card was still charged twice. Contacted customer service that assured me they would refund me and cancel the subscription. Two weeks later, still no refund and charged twice again. At this point I realised there is no way to even log into my account! Had to call my bank to block the transaction and reported them to Action Fraud. There is no real service behind this, just bots that will tell you they're handling it and will refund you, but they won't.
Purchased a vehicle and experienced a variety of surprises despite Shift's 150-point inspection. While purchasing the vehicle was easy, Shift's customer service after the sale leaves much to be desired. I reached out five days in a row to discuss the mountain of issues experienced on a variety of platforms to no avail. Shift only contacted us once I filed a BBB complaint. Run.

My driver arrived, he was ok... but there was a problem to find my booking, they called me several times trying to get my details again, even I had already email from them that all is set. They charged me wrong amount... 21£ more, then they cut my calls, I couldn't reach them at all. I will never use them again. Total chaos in the company, nobody knows what they're doing there. So disappointed!
Let down on two occasions and the booking wasn't completed! Was promised to be contacted by their customer service but still nothing and they are refusing to give a full refund despite failing to provide the service paid for! Absolutely awful and even after leaving a review and their response saying they are looking into it, we still haven't heard a thing! Really disappointed as returning customers and previously recommended!
Booked 2 weeks in advance for a removal job received e mail confirmation that booking had been accepted. I was given the driver details and contacted him night before to arrange best place to park etc - turned out he was on holiday and wasn't going to do the job
Called shift that evening who first told me first that the booking system was down then next morning (day of the move) that they had found another driver (who I called and didn't know anything about the job) then apparently booking system was down again then that were still going to find a driver then could I change the day of my move rom London to Scotland - umm No!
Completely incompetent and will lie to you - totally unacceptable service
No one is responsive. I booked and I paid then they once I asked for something they change my booking details. A night before the move the website was down. I emailed them a few times and not heard from them. It looks like it is just automated emails.
We recently needed to move from central London to the NW outskirts. The booking process with Shift was incredibly easy. The driver arrived on time and was most helpful and polite. I would recommend shift for any more any time. V&H - from New Zealand / long resident in London

Driver called to say he cannot access app for my signature to prove he s done the job!
Waited and waited. Called several times to no avail. Driver Used chat online for help to no avail. Told to send text to say he's done the job which was not agreeable. Had to plan transport privately. Tried calling shifty service but no ans. Money ofcoz is taken from my account without any response from shifty service! Do not trust or use. I feel u safe having given my personal account details over the phone with the hope for a rapid service!
Second time I've used Shift.
First time the driver turned up an hour outside of the allocated time slot, I was stranded with a sofa during this time.
The second time the driver didn't turn up, he said he cancelled and Shift should have told me, they had no idea. I was promised some money back as I work for myself and had to cancel work for this failed booking but later this was refused. They completed the job the next day. I was then charged for 1.5 hours when only booked (and used) 1 hour and I was charged TWICE.
I was then offered 20% discount for my third booking, complete waste as I would never use or recommend this service again. Extremely disappointed.

Created booking, they took the money. No drivers accepted the job. No number to call and having an awful time getting a response via email or the bot about a refund. Thats right they have taken the money before a driver accepted the job etc. Shocker avoid at all cost.

Don't use a provider with no contact phone number or live chat. These guys only have a bot that you can't get answers from

DO not waste your time. They give you wrong quotes, then take twice the amount of their invoice from your card. It takes their driver 1.5 hours to make a 20 min journey. I wish I read the reviews before I ordered their van (it is IMPOSSIBLE to cancel their order no matter what you do, they still take the money).

Avoid this company. We looked at a quote for a removal nothing else. They have taken money off my account that they are not due. They have lied and said we booked a service and said someone turned up. I can assure you nobody was at my house! Called to discuss and they changed their story and now told us they charged us money for cancelling! Cancelling what?! When we didn't book a service. Liars and thieves. Police are getting phoned today! This company commits fruad and scams!
I booked shift for today this was pre booked from last week and done it over the phone everything seemed okay and me and partner got all packed checked my email today and said the 8th of September which was completely wrong so phoned them up and got the same news over and over again sorry about this we will relegate another driver which they never done in the end luckly I managed to get another man with van who were so much cheaper and got the job done this company are idiots and scams don't bother using them waste of time
They have taken my payment twice for a job I immediately cancelled when realising they had lied to me. They must be reported and stopped. BAD vile people. I booked a removal for 31. 03. 20, I was told a company would be in touch, a week later nothing, sent messages no one answering my question. I know the country is in a lockdown but just an answer would be nice! No customer service what so ever!
Worst company ever. Worked almost one year for them. They owe me £180, are almost two months late. When I call them, they are lie: "The transfer was made, wait 72 hours to see the money in your account." Of coarse, no money in my account. The managers are simply cowards, they don't have the courage to speak to me. Simply, patetic thiefs. Don't work for SHIFT, don'tt contract their services, if you don't want to encourage scums.
I found this service very helpful to move a mattress from my flat to my parents house. I opted for the lesser service I. E load the van mused which I did at my end however when the van arrived at my parents house the driver did help. He was very polite, professional and arrived at the exact time he said he would. The only problem I had was with the online booking system as it quoted the wrong price but I had a call back and then they quoted a very good price. Happy customer.
