Thumbtack generates numerous accounts to send false leads (potential customers) to the "pros." With each generated account, they send one "lead" to five pros. Each pro is charged $30 or more for each "lead," which I have experienced and observed, multiple times, every day I was a member of the platform. Shameful, deceptive and unethical practices. Customer service is poor, nearly non-existent. And, don't expect any refunds...you won't get any.

Cut the grass, pulled weeds, finished with mulch all in 30 min! Did a fantastic job! Thank you Roberto Lopez from Lopez Landscaping and tree Services. *******226
Don't bother working with them! They are useless and using bots and not qualified leads that request a job and want to pay 50 bucks while some projects are minimum $500-750. No customer service total bs and you will lose loads of money on "leads" as they call them but it's just fake accounts that show some sort of activity.
They basically robbed me, stole every single penny in my account I didn't get 1 single hire it's was the worst decision I've ever made. I was recommended by my brother who also owns his own buisness. Once he heard what they did to me he canceled his contract with them to. Please be safe and don't go with them!

I am very happy with the services that I received from Dr. Murray S. Kaufman. The first time that I visited him I literally was a mess. I was dealing with IBS, and the condition was killing me because I didn't know how to live with it. I went to see Dr. Kaufman with the intention to receive a hypnosis protocol for IBS. I started the protocol; however, the doctor realized that I was suffering from anxiety disorder that was making the IBS flare up, and I started a therapy to work on that. Dr. Kaufman helped me to find the roots of my anxiety and how to deal with them. Every session was very productive, and I learned a lot about myself and dealing with my conditions. Now, I am in a much better place in life, and so thankful to Dr. Kaufman, because he helped me to overcome one of the darkest moments of my life. He is very knowledgeable, dedicated and professional. I recommend him from my heart to yours.

It is clear to me that thumbtack creates fictitious "Leads," sends them to Contractors, and then charges contractors for leads them. If a customer does not respond to a lead that you have paid for, thumbtack refuses to give you any phone number or email address to contact the customer, so you cannot verify that it was a valid lead. Also, Thumbtack charges for leads when a customer has canceled their request for work. The Thumbtack service works very poorly, and contractors should stay away from them, and use another service. I just had my tile installed by Noel Santos, owner of OTB, and I have to say I am so pleased with the results. The floors look absolutely amazing. Noel did a most fantastic job and so fast I couldn"t believe it. Noel also suggested a theme for the back-splash and that to looked so beautiful that my wife is still talking about it every time she walks into the kitchen. I would highly recommend OTB for anyone needing tile work done and the price was better than every quote I received online. Thanks again Noel, I'd give you more than 5 stars but that's all the ratings go up to. Be BLessed!

I've been on thumbtack for more than a year. I get about 20% actual bookings out of all the leads I had to pay thumbtack. When there is an issue between the customer and the pro, they take the customer's side. Thats easy to understand because the customer generates alot of money for them by choosing many different pros for their inquiry. A lot of times I get fake inquiries because they never responded even when I messaged them several times. Recently, a customer made a mistake by giving me a one star review. I got frustrated and contacted thumbtack but they took the customer's side. I contacted the customer and we straightened out everything. The next day, my account got deactivated. I then went online and read reviews about thumbtack and realized thats it is about time for me to find other websites to grow my business.

I was impressed! I had David, Jeff and Ed move my furniture and household goods on to a moving truck to go to Florida. They were great to work with, and did a wonderful job! They were careful with my furniture, and did an absolutely fantastic job loading the moving truck. There was not an inch of space between the boxes and furniture, tied everything securely multiple times as they went along, and I had NO damage to my house in the process. I would without question recommend this crew from Real Deal Van Lines. Nancy Lecours

Dewayne and his crew did an outstanding job at 2 of my homes. They were professional and pleasant. They were fairly priced. We enjoyed working with them because they wanted to make us happy and they did. I highly recommend!

They started this new thing called promote and you have the option to accept or decline what is the point if you still have to pay if you decline the customer and never responded. If Thumbtack waves that one customer Infront of 4 professionals so to speak then Thumbtack walks away with $80 + and that customer doesn't respond I am out of my money. I want someone to start a Class Action suit against Thumbtack they are a rip off and I truly believe those leads are fake leads. I paid $100.29 for 8 customers and not one responded to me.

Aroma Cleaning Services cleaned my carpet! Gus first came to my home to give me an estimate, and it was a small carpet. It was a very fair estimate. He came back in a few days, exactly on time, and cleaned my carpet beautifully. What a great job he did! I highly recommend Aroma cleaning Services for your cleaning needs, not only for the cleaning job, but for the professionalism, and the price. Check it out!

I was very happy for my experience with thumbtack. I was given quote very quickly and spoke to Ralph Valdez and he was great and reasonable. We set up a time for him to come and do the job I required. The next day He called and came early. All I needed was a desk put together and the job was not too small for Ralph. Thank God he was able to do this little job for me. The job was done very well and completely, and he even took the trash out.

Keep away of this company, they are thieves. The price contractors have to pay for leads is to high. Now, they have what they call a "good deal" marketing your company, if somebody sent you a request, it does not matter if you reject the request without never contact the customer, they anyway are going to charge you, just, because the customer choose your company.
I do not know where report this abusing company, because, everybody know that the BBB is useless.

Thumbtack
What is Thumbtack? It is a wonderful place on the internet where I found the most respectful, diligent stucco company. I'm talking about Mr. Demetry Thomas LLC. If you want a job well done, in a timely manner, at a reasonable cost, Demetry Thomas is the company to call. He is adamant about his professionalism and gave a life time guaranty. Thanks, Thumbtack for connecting me with Demetry Thomas LLC

I Never heard back from any contractors on their app, and they only allow you to contact them through their app. It seems as though the contractors on their app have stopped using their service but are still listed. Total waist of time. In addition, the app put in the wrong zip code in my info. When I tried to change the zip code it instantly took me out of the app. And I had to start from the beginning, would never allow me to fix my zip code to correct zip code. Terrible.

If you're a Pro - save your money. They will take it. They're motto is to provide you with leads. You pay for credits - I paid $40.00. However, if you don't get any qualified leads your basically out of luck.
For a week, I was only able to bid on 3 projects. Nothing cam from it and in the coming days, I didn't get ANY projects requests. So tell me, with 33 credits and nothing to bid on, how is this fair? How is this a return on investment?
This is a really bad company. Save your money.

They weren't great. They try to be user friendly on the consumer side but make it harder and harder for vendors to provide quality information - got to the point where I deleted my account because it was ridiculous to pay to find out I didn't want to bid a job.

I had a chance to work with a great professional Johny Pierce from J&J Construction & Conceptual Design LLC. He did the job very fast, worked very hard, created his own design, took care of all the formalities for me and built a beautiful deck for me. He is also very friendly and pleasant to have a conversation. My neighbors also loved it and say that this is the best deck in the village.

My first time using the site was the experience from hell. I needed assistance with a computer problem and was confident enough to know what needed to be done. It is just that I couldn't do it myself so I needed the help of a Pro.
Stated my issue, selected a few that I thought based on their profile could help as well as Thumbtack opens it up to their pool of pros. The first guy that I interacted with demanded payment after offering a suggested solution via their text interface without any phone contact with me. I couldn't implement his suggestion due to my computer problem. I told him that and he responded that it was my problem and that he had to be paid for his suggestion anyway. I refused to pay for something that I could not do - who does? He reported it to Thumbtack and they deactivated my account even after me explaining what happened and that the text messaging exchange between us is stored on their server. I still have a computer problem so my issue was never resolved.

They provide no recourse when customers don't pay. Customer Service is impossible to reach. There is no penalty whatsoever for customers abusing the platform. They aggressively push customers to contact more pros and customers have no idea they are incurring fees to pros.

I am a wedding officiant. I can say this: out of many, many requests for quotes, I've quote on about 18, never gotten a job out of it. I can't say whether the requests are valid or phony; I can say it was a waste of money.

When you join they promise your money back that you join with. It is like a bank account for you, they stated. But later when you want your money back they refuse to refund you and stated they never said that. But they did. Then they put you on direct leads automatically with out asking you and force you to pay 90.00 a week. That is not what customer service said. Do not use Thumbtack.com.

Hi Lisa, we apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding that occurred during your sign up process. All sales on Thumbtack are final and non-refundable per our refund policy in our Terms of Use under the section “Thumbtack Fees and Taxes.”. However, we know every dollar counts when you are a business owner, so there are certain situations where we will add credit back to your Thumbtack balance. If you ever find that a customer’s request does not match your account preferences, if you quoted on the same customer’s project twice, or if a customer request violates our Terms of Use, we will review the situation. In these cases we may add credit to your account for the cost of that contact. You can read more about our refund policy here: https://help.thumbtack.com/article/refund-policy. You're also welcome to set a budget each week, so that you control exactly how much you're spending on leads, or you can turn targeting off so that you're not receiving automatic leads.
We hope this information helps you move forward on Thumbtack and encourage you to reach out to us directly if you have additional questions.
