I have a varied and deep resume but am trying to change careers to something that didn't even exist a few short years ago. Despite my Ivy League degree I thought spending the money for a professionally presented and formatted resume made sense. I might have been right but after dealing with Top Resume I will never use them or a service like them again. Save your money and get out of your contract before they give you a first draft. Afterwards it will be too late and they refuse to return any money. My resume was written by a non-English speaker from what I can gather, or worse written by machine. If you are assigned Anya R. Race to get your money back. I received my first draft and sent back a sea of red corrections. This was after they took days to match me with someone specifically tailored to the industry I was applying to. A total nightmare. She had no idea of the software used in the industry, had no idea what the job skills needed were. Worse, she attributed skills and management experience that I in no way had or claimed on what I sent them. Not minor hedging either, we're talking federal level appointments, because it sounded good and she had no idea what she was writing. Her questions ahead of receiving my draft amounted to clarifying 2 dates. That is it. She didn't ask another question. This company is a complete waste of money. Read the bad reviews, the experiences are all too similar to be mistakes. Remember good reviews are easily purchased and in the case of Top Resume not a true representation of their work.

Literally everything that can go wrong will go wrong. This is the worst service ever.

The positive reviews have to be fake. This is a total scam.

I paid for the "top 10%" writers, and the resume I got was word salad that did not accurately represent my experience. When I asked for edits, the writer only changed five words in the entire resume. I sent a list of keywords for my industry, but all he did was change words like "managed" to words like "assisted." It actually made it WORSE, which I didn't think was possible. And still no industry buzzwords.

And the format was totally outdated. The cover letter had a section for the street address of the hiring manager. That's not a thing in the digital age.

The summary section was a whole quarter of the first page, with. 25" margins. It was a WALL of text that sent shivers down my spine. And it was only five sentences long! Seriously. I am attaching a screenshot.

My favorite sentence from the cover letter is: "Having progressed through a series of roles over more than nine years, I am excited to apply..." Uhm. WHAT?! That says nothing!

No refunds are available. If you ask to be paired with a different writer, nothing happens.

I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau. This is just insane. TopResume IS A SCAM! Don't waste your money.

Reviews looked ok so I spent $200 on a new resume. Their site has an autogenerating feature to set dates for 1.) Writer Assignment 2.) First Draft 3.) Next steps etc. In ALL cases the actual engagement was LATE. Then I start receiving messages from them stating "Sometimes these things happen and we get overloaded". Then, " We haven't forgotten about you!". Oh and my favorite." just wanted to let you know that I have your email and will get back to you within the next business day". Please note that all of these were in response to my e-mails stating "WHERE ARE YOU?"... "YOU ARE LATE AGAIN AGAINST TIMELINES THAT YOU SET. The Final One that I received, after a commitment to deliver in 24 hours was this one "Hi,Thank you for your message(s). Your writer is out of the office and will be back to work on your revisions on April 10. In such a case, your deadline will be extended by a few additional days so you have everything you need from your writer! Best, Alex. SUCH B.S. Please know that I am working to obtain a refund for "NOT Rendering Services". STAY AWAY.

Prior to Top Resume, I had a 4 page resume PLUS a cover letter that I knew was way too long and probably holding me back from getting hits from Recruiters however I was so enamored with my own writing that I didn't have the discipline to cut it down myself. After I got a very comprehensive critique from the folks at Top Resume that I had to agree with, I broke down and paid to have them redo it for me. In fact, I signed up for the Executive package and got the cover letter and LinkedIn profile along with the resume because they worked with me on the pricing and also did an amazing job with my final product that exceeded my expectations. I was feeling stagnant in my career and wasn't getting any interviews. Top resume was suggested and it took me a while before I actually decided to take the leap. I'm glad I did. Mieke did an amazing job updating my resume and did so in a timely manner (my first draft was completed in a day). The very next day after using my updated resume I received an email for a request to move forward to a phone interview.

My resume needed a face lift and dialed in for the software programs employers are using now to filter through the 1000's of resumes they receive.
The process took about a week to complete but they hit the date that they gave me, so I knew the timeline. When I received my resume back it looked marvelous.
I posted it the next day and immediately received 2 calls to interview. The 3rd interview was for a position I applied for directly through the employers web site. Applied on Sat, literally received a call on Monday to come in for an interview.
Best money I ever spent. Haven't had an offer of employment yet, but all this has transpired only in the last 2 weeks. SO I am expecting an offer soon. If not I know my resume will attract the attention of wherever I submit it.

Throughout my career, I have been reaching goals and exceeding expectations. Indeed, I have contributed alot towards agricultural water development and management strategies. To mention some of my research contribution: I have applied hydrological modeling tool (SWAT) for water resources planning and management; studied the effect of supplementary Irrigation on rainfed agriculture; optimized Irrigation water and plant nutrient use in the dryland agricultural system; Improved water use efficiency and crop water productivity through scheduling; evaluated irrigation scheme performance; and assessed the influence of integrated watershed management measures on groundwater regime and its effect on irrigation development. Besides, I have been active in developing the capacity of stakeholders through training. Moreover, I do have a glance at my resume to find out more.

Overall I was happy with the end result. The final resume and letter are solid and I feel confident using them in my search.My issue was that it took longer than promised and my input wasn't incorporated in the revisions. The first writer that was put on my project didn't deliver in the promised time frame and I had to reach out to find to find out the status of my job. She told me 'she didn't know what happened?' When my first draft was delivered it didn't include specific content that I requested. She also told me she couldn't access my linkedin account which I specifically asked her to review. I contacted someone directly at TopResume and they quickly connected me with another writer. This experience was definitely better although again some of my direct input wasn't incorporated and I had to make some revisions of my own on the final version. So my opinion is a bit mixed. The first writer really had an impact on my opinion.

Had a terrible experience. They hook you with a results from an 'HR software' they run on your LinkedIn resume, highlighting that your scores aren't as high, etc. The first draft of the resume I got had grammar mistakes in the title. The second version, was so paragraph heavy, dense and badly formatted, it was clearly not an improvement on what I had. Side note, the resume I had, was done by a professional coach I worked with 1:1. After I asked about the improvements they think they've made and to compare the new scores to the original - they said they couldn't do that. Are you kidding me? I felt totally scammed. Would not recommend this to any professional, maybe as your very first resume... big maaaybe at that.

All was good. Unfortunately, I wasn't at my p. C. as much as would be desireable so I was a bit delinquent in responding to correspondence.My fault not yours.
It just made it a bit of a challenge to getting thorough completion syunchronized.

I paid top dollar for this resume, and I was okay with that. I then paid extra for the personal call, and the salesperson said I could have that call before the first draft. Never received that call. They said I couldn't redo the questionnaire. If I knew what to write, wouldn't I just save myself $400 plus dollars and do it myself? I explained to them what was promised, and could they just let me redo the questionnaire. They would not let me. Now I'm stuck with a $469 resume (receipt does not show add ons) that you could probably write. They do ot exactly what direction I was planning for or my real history. Just a general sales carreer.

I had three separate resume writers work on my resume and all three were junk. Take a resume writing course at your local community college and it will be ten fold better. I am a PMP with a security clearance and they were not able to effective get either in my resume. Constantly miss stated my experience and devalued my military service. DONOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. The resume wizard on windows is better.

The process was super easy. I sent my resume, answered a couple of questions, provided a couple of posts and I was done. I didn't think there was anything that could really be done with my resume, but the one I got back was much more consumable and concise. The coverletter said all the things I couldn't bring myself to think up LOL.

I paid for the executive level to have my resume written. It looked really bad, one of my job history, because she said that it did not have any skills that would transfer she left it blank. There are transferable soft skill. I was managing a 2 million dollar business. I mean when an employer sees your work history with a blank description that does more bad then good.

On top of that it looked like my original resume except with some words changed. I pasted a bunch of job that I was applying for…. Thinking they would look at it and try to write a resume that would reflect the job I'm applying for but nope. They just used the same sentences I had but with different verbiage.

This has caused me more stress they will not give me my money back. Now I have to spend my weekend looking at job post to find things that's similar to my current work and email a list to them so they can add this.

I can't believe I paid 400 to have added work and stress when I could have done it myself for free.

This place is a SCAM do not buy. This is why they kept adding discount to their plan.

They sent me a very bad draft one day after I paid for the subsucription and that was it. I do not recommend them at all and I think TopCV and Top Resume are the same website. Because I was receiving the emails from a name with (@topcv). I do not work and I think what they charge is really a lot and especially for the result that you will get. Do not fall for them. I have been sending reminders to them, trying to give them an apportunity to have the CV they promised but I could not have anything, thus the only thing I can is to warn people from them. It has been now more than 9 days and only one very bad draft, I think they did not even physically read my CV. Do not pay them. It is a scam. I hope I have seen the bad reviews about them before, I regret it.
