TopResume

I found TopResume through Careerealism/Career HMO. I received a free resume critique with an offer to answer any questions I had. I wrote back but never received any answers from the person who critiqued my resume - only emails with offers to use the service. I decided to use them anyway because they got great reviews. They must be paying people to write those reviews. You are only allowed 2 (!) revisions to your resume within their time limit of 1 week. I understand having a time limit (I'm sure some people would drag it out forever), but why should I be limited to only 2 revisions? What if I'm not happy with the results? I paid a lot of money for this service. Also, I chose the service that rewrites your LinkedIn profile. All they do is take excerpts from your new resume and tell you where to put them. That is not worth the money in my opinion. I gave them 3 stars because the first draft of the resume is better than the one I already have and the rewritten cover letter is actually not bad. I'll revise this review after I have completed the 1 week period.

So the 1 week period is up. The resume is OK; nothing special. I had to tell them to fix some basic things (like all dates to the right margin) and not to use the same word over and over. I guess it's better than the resume I already had, but I don't think it's anything special. If I were looking at this candidate's resume I would not think they had any major achievements in their career. I'm not impressed; especially considering how expensive this was. And I am really disappointed about the LinkedIn rewrite. It is NOT something I would have paid extra money for; actually it kind of stinks. So my 3 *'s still stand - the service was OK but nothing great. I hope other people don't waste their money.

I had my resume reviewed by Katie Warren a few days ago. I appreciated her critique, and suggestions for improvement. I had a couple of questions about formatting, and wanted to know if I could edit the finished product, after TopResume completed a rewrite of my resume.

Three separate times I asked these questions! Never got an answer. The only replies I received were pushy sales tactics.
Mrs Warren made it quite clear that TopResume wasn't interested in working with me, or for me. They are only interested in working my wallet.

Here is the problem with TRs response. THEY are sorry that I have a negative impression. What they should have said, is; We apologize for GIVING you that impression. Them being sorry that I have a bad impression, insinuates that my skills at detecting less than reputable business practices, are lacking.
Lest anyone think Im play a game of semantics, remember; TopResume is in the business of using words to market an individual and his or her skills. Instead, they are trying to cover the mistakes of their overzealous resume writers.
If the product is a good as they say, then they wouldnt have send a barrage of email solicitations.

Thanks to TOPRESUME work, my resume is now showing as achievable person instead of a doer. The document is clear and straight.

Great service and good communication fir well written resume

I am extremely happy with the service and the product delivered.

I recently availed of the Executive Priority Resume Writing Package from TopResume, and I must say that my experience was incredibly disappointing and frustrating. I entrusted them with the task of creating a professional resume and cover letter that accurately reflected my experience and career goals, but unfortunately, the service I received was far from satisfactory.

To begin with, the resume provided was of extremely poor quality. It seemed as if the writer didn't take my notes into account at all. The document did not represent my work history, skills, or aspirations accurately. It was a generic piece that could have belonged to anyone, completely failing to capture the essence of my career journey.

Moreover, the writer seemed to lack a fundamental understanding of my work history and objectives. It was evident that they did not take the time to comprehend my background before attempting to craft a resume. This resulted in a resume that was riddled with inaccuracies and failed to emphasize my strengths.

Adding to the frustration, the work was delivered late, causing me to miss out on several valuable job opportunities. The whole purpose of investing in a resume writing service was to enhance my chances of securing interviews and advancing my career. Instead, the delay and subsequent missed opportunities have set me back significantly.

I had a very bad expeience. With lots of hope even in this toughest situation I borrowed money and paid for their Career Evolution Services for writing a good Resume and Linked Profile and also paid extra for their rush service. I have been mapped for the writer and after couple of days i got first draft for which i gave a feed back for editing immediately. Again i received an update after 4 to 5 days in which i was really disappointed. In my Technical Proficiencies they have mentioned Cybersecurity ECC instead of SAP ECC. I have 15 years of experience and the writer gave one pager. I was readlly shocked and disappointed. I have contacted the support team they didnt help me. I have asked for refund no response. Am not sure what to do not. Without a Job earning single penny is very tough and i have to support my family also. So am requesting every one please be careful about these services in Canada.

I got a call on 03/03/2021 around 10:04AM and the person called claimed to be Customer Support Supervisor and saying that they can refund 50% of the amount which is not fair. She is saying it was the decision from senior management. She dowsn't have an answer for the question I asked. I asked what are they compensating for the time and effort i put in to explain about the details to the writer one by one wasting my time and effort?
Please be carful about the service with these people. They are big gamers.

I recently retired from the United States Air Force after serving my country for 20 years. At some point, all military personnel will transition into the civilian workforce and it takes finesse to translate our military skills and abilities in a way that hiring managers can understand and "appreciate". During the mandatory transition courses we are required to take we do cover resume writing, but I still found the task a bit overwhelming and welcomed the assistance from TopResume!

I initially submitted my resume on GlassDoor's website to receive the complimentary review from TopResume. While surprised, I agreed with their assessment that my current resume did not quite highlight the 20 years of accomplishments I had tried to convey. My resume was written in a passive versus active voice and I did cram too much information into the resume which could have been a negative factor.

Thankfully, I was matched with a Resume Writer (PAM) who understood military jargon and I was impressed with her ability to take the "bulleted accomplishments" and turn them into "sentences that sang my praises" (which is hard to do when you are writing about yourself).

Over the week long process I actually had time to reflect about my next career path and I realized the resume I originally submitted included positions I no longer had a passion for. My Resume Writer helped me settle on a new career path that I actually wanted to pursue and I was able to submit my "new and improved" resume YESTERDAY when I saw a listing that matched my goals and skills. I heard back from the hiring manager TODAY and I am confident that my new resume will stand out.

I am very satisfied with my updated resume and cover letter. I do believe wholeheartedly this is an expense that is truly priceless if you want to standout amongst the crowd of individuals competing for employment. Good Luck All!
